Agree. Just make them the same size and standarize the animations. There’s no need for them to be small. It’s too much of an advantage. Again, look at all the people playing Asuras in pvp. People gravitate to whatever class/race/build combo wins. Everyone “good” is Asura and this is not ever talked about. They wouldn’t be as “good” if they didn’t have the size advantage.

I don’t play asura in spvp, just like I don’t play builds that are stronger than they should be (like an exploit build). There are many good players out there who don’t play asura.

You’re wrong. Asura does have an advantage. You might not know this, but skilled players read their enemies builds, utilities, weapons, and all related cooldowns. Asura being so small, can be incredibly difficult to read their animations. If a norn comes running at me, I can see what weapons he has equipped, and if he is using a skill I will read that animation. An asura can be incredibly difficult to read. A norn using a gear shield is much easier to see than an asura using gear shield.

As for the mesmer portion, it is also true. A very good mesmer can make themselves look like a clone (with the exception of things that are obvious, like phase retreat, dodge rolling, walking backwards, chaos armor, etc) but with asura, it can be harder to tell when someone makes a move that would have otherwise given them away if they were another race.

Good players use a mix of tab targeting AND click targeting. You must be “new in PvP which means that youdont have any complete opinion about PvP yet.”

P.S. There’s a reason why asuras get banned from tournaments.

Yeah, we tested it once and were able to keep someone in the air almost permanently, if we had more immobilize we could have done it for sure. I’ve always disliked how many things are disabled in air. Some are understandable, like channeled skills. But I can swing a sword while falling

It’s better than it was a year ago, we used to barely be able to afford repairs. But it’s still far from the reward level of PvE.

Sure PvP is differrent, just saying town clothes have no right to exist outside PvE and it’s good that they were recently disabled in WvW where you could use them before.

If it is just for the skins itself, that’s an arguable topic. But they are tied to brawl or other fun skills mostly. So they don’t belong into WvW where they might introduce an imbalance as a side effect.

Just turning them off was easier for Anet then to disable any skills or effects they might have now or will have the future. It’s good move. Now then can do whatever they have in mind without thinking of any consequences in a non PvE environment.

Actually it’s simply foolish and sloppy design on the part of the costume brawl team. They add skills that don’t even work in costume brawl, or they tag skills on accident. For example, the axe 4 skill was actually a leap finisher, why was it a leap finisher? It had no reason to be a finisher in costume brawl, it was just sloppy design-work.

The chest just had junk in it, you really didn’t miss out on anything you can’t do in 1 run of fractals.

Shortbow on a mesmer? lol that just seems silly. It really doesn’t fit with the theme. MH pistol makes sense though.

It means that the workaround for the Vampirism rune bug can’t be used (4th-slot effect stops working after res until you switch to town clothes then back again), making that set worthless in WvW.

They where disabled because of the Executioner Outfit. You could move extremly fast with its skill #2 (large leap on a 3s cooldown).

Beside that in the past there were other issues with town clothes. Once disabled Anet does not have to care if some brawl skills have impact on WvW. Good move. This stuff has no place in WvW the same way it has to place in PvP.

PvP is very different. matches are short, maps are tiny, combat is a constant. In WvW combat is not always a constant, in fact, you spend the least amount of time in WvW on actual combat.

If there is an issue with a few gimmicky toys and tonics, fix them! The #2 skill on executioners axe doesn’t even work well in costume brawl, which is what it was designed for. So if it doesn’t work in costume brawl, and it’s an exploit in WvW, then FIX THE SKILL PLEASE. It’s an exploit in PvE as well, so town clothes should just be disabled everywhere and removed from the game if we’re not going to fix a little problem like 1 or 2 skills and tonics.

That was your choice to spend so much on the OP foods. Your server really doesn’t matter, because anyone can just transfer to the top servers.

Level scrolls and ascended mats are very useful to most players. The number of rewards for this meta are far beyond any other achievement meta. Stop whining.

I have been Blackgate since launch. “OP foods” hmm, I think you meant to say expensive foods. If you think it’s silly to buy the top foods, then you don’t take yourself or your server seriously.

Was I whining? No, most certainly not. I always expected the rewards to be bad, in fact, I didn’t expect as many green items as we got. But it’s a statement about the general reward level of playing WvW when we have a competition and the winner of the highest league still gets less rewards in a 7 week period than a single fractal run.

I also never would have expected gold in the reward chest. But how about some laurels, some blueprints, a reasonable amount of wxp, something a WvWer could use.

Maybe they can make my little mini dolyak carry some extra supply for me, now that’s something I could use!

Just wanted to take the time to congratulate TC on their third place win in gold league! I’m very much looking forward to TC gaining their rightful place as the third tier 1 server. You guys have a persistent spirit, you have a fun attitude and are some of the nicest players I’ve had the pleasure of fighting and interacting with.

One week before seasons started or one week before the end of seasons? Also EU servers were on a different set of leagues from NA, so transferring over in the middle probably messed up your server association for the reward. When in doubt submit a ticket, but don’t hold your breath or cross your fingers.

I don’t believe we’ve had issues but every college email is different. You can get an email from live.com or gmail.com for free and those seem to have the least problems, tell him to try that if he’s concerned.

And yes, NA and EU testers are on the same server.

Our instructions specifically stated it could not be a Gmail.

No, an objective and literal reading of anets original statement is that the top 3 in each league would get finishers. It was explicitly stat ed as such, then later explicitly (albeit quietly) retracted. No one “misread” anything. Anet simply shared wrong information and then retracted it in just about the least visible means possible.

Yup, that can be read 2 different ways. Therefore, misread. It was read in a way not intended by the poster.

lol…I actaully got 3 exotics as loot playing WvW for 5-6 hours a day for 7 weeks. So finally managed to buy an extra bag slot….

7-9 a day myself, but I played overtime which is “cheating”. I read it on the forums.

Hmm last I tested, whirls and projectiles still didn’t cleanse the caster. Sigh, gonna have to test again.

Yeah I used to play piercing pistol condi build back in the day. It was pretty nice, I never thought it was overpowered, I felt it was quite balanced. Even if they buffed it back up to say a 3 second bleed, I wouldn’t mind. I really miss playing that build, I lost so much dps in that change.

Yeah if you’re a human the backpacks are much too big. The size is fine on my norn and asura engi. There are some that also look really weird on charr, like the flamethrower is sitting way too high on their back compared to the rest of the kits. (I think it was flamethrower, maybe it was elixir gun)

Rangers actually don’t gain full benefit from the armor or weapons either.

Rangers, as a class, have the one seriously legit complaint about ascended gear regardless of game mode.

Same with engi as I just posted above. I believe ele conjure weapons have the same issue.

With tanky builds, transmute has been really nice, but it’s being modified next patch. With that said, I agree, it’s very silly that the only reliable form of condi removal is elixirs. I often find myself running melandru runes, condi reduce food, and transmute, I still get loaded with conditions if I’m not playing with elixirs.

Will my engi kits be made ascended now that everyone will be able to have ascended weapons and armor and trinkets? When weapons were released, the kits had ascended stats for a day or 2, then it was quickly patched. When can we expect to have them again?

I’m glad its opening up to more people, it has been a little sparse. Also happy to see you guys are working very fast to remove a lot of exploits. Good work team, and thanks for keeping us so updated on it.

A well timed enemies dodge roll can really mess you up though AS STATIC DISCHARGE (Some weird chat filter forced me to type like that….)

Unfortunately I cannot give anyone a specific link to my build, as I crafted it for my guild. You can pretty much figure out what I am running though if you read what I said carefully. I will hint you that I am not running healing turret, but I WILL be running it after the December 10th patch and I am NOT running movement speed runes or speedy kits. (this is a huge hint, and will cause a chain reaction of puzzle pieces to fall together )

It sounds good in theory, but it ends up working like this:

People inspect you who think they know what they are doing. These people found their build on the internet, and it’s good, so if you’re not running it, you must be stupid and a noob. They have no room in their little brains to buildcraft themselves, and they know nothing about viability of other builds.

This results in much negativity. I do not approve of an inspect feature.
