Champs were always farmed in low level areas. This just might became popular on your server now.

This will stop anyway, when the champ skins became cheaper. Remeber Behe’s Final Rest? Once very very expensive, now goes for a few gold. Will happen to all other skins as well over time and then the farming will die down.

The new content isn’t even available for a week now. So people jump on everything new in hordes. Especially as long as the skins are valuable. This means the price will go down even faster and the farming will die down a bit.

And for leveling: just don’t do the champ events right now. There is enough to do for leveling. Probably the farming pavillion in your best bet at the moment as you are upleveled anyway.

Yes, the domes are not reset to an empty state before the next players enters. Same applies to warrior banners or engi turrets. You also see often the last boss still dead in the arena.

The guy in the video mastered his warrior. This is a show case how a good player can play a warrior to its full potential and understanding the mechanics of the fight. He is not blindly takinging Liadri and bursting her.

Before you complain about OP, roll a warrior and try it yourself.

Same abouth thieves. I personally feel them fully imba when I see solo dungeon videos. But I canot do it with my thief because I lack the skill in this class.

Finally got it. This time the Norn did not pull me, so I could just tank/cc the wolf. Did not pickup any meat, but the wolf could not. Was a close call. In fact it was easy. So RNG plays a huge role here what the Norn does.

Now Liadri can’ be that annoying.

Just talk to the guy at the ballon tower to start the next event when the doors are closed.

The order is always: escorting guest, pirates, champ. And the 5 champs just cycle one after another. They always spawn at the same location.

Camp one tower for roughly 20-30 minutes and you get all 5 champs.

Same problem on a warrior. Yes, I know I need to get the meat buff and deny the dog as much as possible.

But that is what usually happens: I get one meat, maybe a second if I am lucky. And I really mean lucky, because the Norn constantly pulls me across the room. And he spams meat like hell. Usually on both ends of the dome, so the dog will get one no matter what I do. I do not have unlimited CC.

Yes, I have equipped a lot of stability, but that does not help here as he is constantly pulling me with every attack as soon as I am not close to him. And I need to get away from him to get the meat.

Yes, I saw videos and I wish I was so lucky in my 60+ attempts that meat is not spammed like every 2s followed by a pull as soon as I run for it.

In the videos it is close the where the guys do some DPS. If I would get such a version I would beat this one easily for sure. The videos look absolute nothing to what I am experiencing.

But I never do. Meat spamming, and getting pulled constantly is the only thing I get.

And if I ignore the meat thing completly and just DPS these guys I run out of time.

Q. Gauntlet: Gambit achievement bug

I fought the Oooze now several times with 3 or 5 gambits. I win the fight and get the reward but the achievements “Triple Threat” and “High Stakes Gambler” are never shown as completed.

I finish this in Revenge with a Warrior and are always ported out dead even though I have skilled 100% rally on kill, therefore I should not be dead when killing the boss.

Even though as I get a reward it means I won, therefore the achievement should be completed, but it is not. 100% reproducible.

It works fine this way unless I add a gambit, then I always come out dead and get no achievement.

It’s just annoying to have wait 2-3 minutes all the time or run from WP if you choose an empty dome. That’s so frusttrating. If the WP was closer or you would come out revived (like in the dark mini dungeon) people could better distribute across domes.

Once more evidence that GW2 needs urgently a quality assurance department instead of just some quality control.

Here are just a few bugs I encountered playing it:

- Player fails on the Ooze, then the small Oozes are telported outside

- Player fails on the Ooze and the small Oozes are still there when the next player starts

- Banners of warriors or towers of Engineers are still there when the next player starts

These are 100% reproducible every time.

More strange things I observerd in a couple of hours of frustrating waiting for my next try on Liadri:

- Sometimes when you win, you are not transported outside and are trapped in the dome, you have to log out to get out of it.

- If the last player fell through the floor and you are transported in before the animaion of the floor closes you can get stuck in the floor until you do a weapon swap (happens when you move to a certain spot).

- When a warrior wih 100% change to rally on kill defeats an opponent there is about a 25% chance he is transported outside dead does not always rally. Happened on the 2nd and 3rd tier one boss to me.

- When a player who has a ticket before you gets a in line on another dome (that’s what I assume but did not check further), the next player get a message that they are up but are skipped until they re-log – they are stuck as next in line.

- For what every reasons sometimes two players get transpored to the same dome and there is a 2v2 (same boss). Saw this multiple times, but did not happen to me.

- When a large zerg is below you (now PvE players see how bad culling was for WvW) FPS may drop and skill lag is introduced, just like every WvW players knows it. Not really a defect but more a general design issue not having seperate instances (for the gimmicky reason to look down to see a zerg).

Please pleae please with sugar on top of it, recruit some more beta testers for explorative testing that actually try to find unspecified behaviour instead of just casually previewing content. It will help all of us…

As soon as we players read about it, we knew it was a bad idea.

It is ok, if you have a new boss to fight, but if you struggle at one then it sucks big time. You cannot go to an empty dome, because no one is there to ressurect you and the waypoint is far away.

So you go where people are. Take you turn and wait a a few minutes until it is your turn. You die quickly on more challeging enemies and wait again a couple of minutes.

It is not the fights that are frustrating, I like challenging content very much. I liked the T4 candidate trials. I like the Gauntlet.

But the waiting takes all the fun out of it. Exactly as people were telling Anet right away.

Sure testers did not complain, they tried a few bosses and when they could not finish one they just stopped testing out other stuff. But testing out stuff and playing it (for the achievements) is a different thing.

And why is there waiting: so people can watch other fights. Does anyone care? No, because they are busy with their boss. Nobody cares about the other fighting basically. No one cares for this gimmick.

It would work, if it would be like PvP spectating where you can actually see what someone is doing and see their build! That would be fun to see how others are doing it and learning something. But watching through the dome is just stupid, you don’t really see anything of interest.

This is a prime example where the idea of watching other destroys fun. As much as I like hard content, the waiting is killing any fun, exactly like everyone predicted.

Sure, it will no be corrected to be instanced as it should be.

But at least correct the dying so people can actually distribute better across the domes. Let people get ressurected automatically here to make a bit up for this gimmicky design decision. You have automated ressurection in several places (e.g. the dark mini dungeon), so it is in the game and could be used here as well.

Twilight Arbor Impossible Way Forward-Up

Just did a run with a PUG. 2nd attempt we got the boss. We also had a first timer for TA with us.

Strategy used: one guardian kites the spiders around the tree, other members go range on the boss.

When too much spiders came to us, we had to leave (guardian keeps kiting, so boss does not reset), kill the the few spiders and go back.

For the four guys ranging: rifle warrior, mesmer for timeloop and general group condition removal is helpful. Do not use any AoE and do no hit any spider to not pull aggro with the range group (make sure autoattack is off). Warriros have banner equiped to pickup the kiting guardian in case he is in down state. But usually with 25% melee movement speed the guardian should rarely be hit but probably need some wrist surgery afterwards xD.

Took quite some time though as we were not optimized for ranged batte (full zerk would have been better), but it is doable with any group this way. All depends on the one running in circles and kiting the spiders.

Also one member had to leave during the battle (real life always comes firs), so we did most of the end boss with four people.

Will upload recording later.

Probably best speed run group would be: 1 guardian, 1 mesmer, 3 rifle zerk warriors.

If you have a lot of time the boss is solable. But it will take forever.

Looking for a WvW and Dungeon guild [SoR]

Recently transferred from EU to NA for a change in scenery. Top tiers in EU became to boring and too unbalanced even more in the last few months.

Not looking for another blobbing guild running only karma trains, but some guild that takes WvW a bit more seriously. Have over 1000+ hours logged in WvW and about 500+ in PUG commanding and about 100+ in commanding smaller guild group. I can cover a lot of off hours in NA as well.

Please no huge guilds,. been there before. Class instead of mass please.

In additional I want to get better in dungeon runs and finish my Dungeon Master (missing a couple of instances) as well. So some experienced instances runners teaching me the tricks of all the various paths in dungeons until I master them all would be highly appreciated inside the guild was well. Haven’t done much FotM yet, but willing to learn of course.

I have enough of getting wiped with PUGs claiming to be experienced but obviously do not have mastered the class.

Boss fight with some pre GW1 lore? I couldn’t care less. The lore of both GW1 and GW2 is so run off the mill that it does not really interest me.

Another GW2 inquest related theme? We had enough of them, although I enjoy them very much even though I do not like to paly a Asura.

If I read the recent patch notes right they fixed the spawning bugs for mobs and plunderers. Good. This is supposed to be a challenge.

And such challenges are way better then the boring “Complete xxx 100 times”

As said also like that they split the tiers into different achievements. One very easy and one harder. I hope they keep this system up, providing more challenging content while at the same time offering achievements for the more casual players as well to get their reward.

I gave the CC method a try for fun: yes, the script hangs. If plunderer kills are < 1 at the 5:30 mark then the script re-spawns plunderer one again. Obviously a bug.

Mobs spawn at specific points in time, so does the right side plunderer. If you go back right after killing a plunderer they walk to the middle . You probably didn’t see them spawning.

I did not observe any RNG here. But maybe there is some as GW2 is RNG all the way. But I think it’s more like a defect. On one run (think was Kiel T2) I had a plunderer stuck and he never returned to the spawn point.

Don’t do it in groups guys if you are not a coordinated group. The plunderes have too much health. The challenge you are getting here it that everything must be coordinated. Just going in as a group does not make it easier for you – it makes it harder so coordinated groups can have some challenges, too. More DPS is countered by a linear health increase in plunderers and longer time until aggro breaks. The level of difficulty stays the same. This one is really nicely balanced.

What I don’t like that for some reason Evon is harder than Kiel. Don’t know why they did this. I expected both challenges to be the same. Evon 1 to 4 is is balanced like Kiel 2 to 5 (if there would be a five).

Basic strategy: spawn camp, if you get aggro run behind the large rock. It is there for absolutely that reason as it breaks line of sight. If you miss a plunderer at the spawn don’t chase him. Kill him when he returns.

For groups the same strategy applies and the challenge here is coordination, which is actually fun.

That’s the mechanics here and the way it was designed without doubt.

If done right you can kill exactly 20 plunderes in the allowed T4 time. That again proofs that it was designed this way. No one is looking for an easy way, people just found the intended way.

It makes no sense playing against the provided mechanics for T3 and T4 whereas on T1 and T2 you can do what every you like.

Again that’s why Anet created two achievements and not one with four tiers.

Hint Completion achievement broken [Merged]

82/83 here, too. Everything is checked under hints itself, but the achievement is stuck at 82/83.

I did not see a hint popup box for the following hints:
- Ranger Pet Charm
- Ranger Pet Controls
- Ranger Pet Panel
- Engineer Tool Belt

I just did them a today quickly in a row with fresh rolled characters. I saw that the hints icon shortly flashed on doing the activities to get them counted.

Mailbox problem: I actually got a hint when the mailbox was full. So it is not this one. Also Ranger F4 worked fine (send pet to attack and let it die)

EDIT: Hint achievement now show completed in the achievement panel about 30 minutes later. It never shows me a popup on the right edge of the screen that the achievement was completed.

New Fractals? Nice. Which one? Both themes are fine for me. I expect a rushed and unpolished one. But can’t be more annoying then the ice one. Actually looking more forward to get the Flame and Frost Dungeon as a fractal, we will get anyway.

Cheaper BL keys? I couldn’t care less about them. Nothing really interesting in them that actually drops often enough to buy a few. Perma. Bank Access would be nice, but with all the crap inside them and the drop rate, I will not gamble on them.

Crab Toss and Southsun Survival? No thank you. I am done with Crabtacular. Not going to attempt it ever again.

Reduced WP costs? The few silver for a month don’t really matter. But this is the only thing everyone in PvE has something from. We WvW players of course get nothing here as usual.

So nothing really what would drive me to the voting booth. Fractal runners are who drive the voting and generate the daily logins Anet urgently needs.

Hope they will put up vote tokens at the TP. What’s an election if it cannot be rigged? xD

Anyway, I highly welcome the voting thing in a living story form. At least gives the illusion of listening to what the players want.

It would be way more interesting if the offers were really different and basically not just “your fractal of choice” about which we know nothing beside the theme.

In the end WP costs will win anyway… Moving on…

The winner gets a bit more of karma and coins and of course a title if you won at least once. Usually it is raining greens for everyone.

Time gating here is a bit extreme for such a sub-par stats. Not even worth the effort to farm quartz crystals in the first place.

Yes, they probably will do more with them. I care about this when they do.

This is something to keep people using magic find gear playing the game on a daily basis.

Probably there is some connection in getting future funding to the number of individual players logging in per day. That’s IMHO the most likely explanation why they are doing this.

Looks like Anet is in desperate need of higher numbers right now. The achievement chests with more or less recycled items point in the same direction to get more player log in daily, doing their daily to get some more points.

I’ll expect we see more of such time gating in the coming updates…

Stealth of thieves is not OP, it is just annoying with the average troll jumping on them in WvW. Talking 3xHS noobs here.

The problem is not the class, it is the people you play them in WvW that just annoy the majority of all other players.

Just roll a thief and start to play it until you understand how the thief works and then you can deal with the average thief in a roaming encounter.

And in WvW, don’t chase them with a group. Ignore them. Don’t feed the trolls. Take some keeps and loot opponents while they are just going for a yak-slapping title in about a decade.

Supply camps? Just upgrade them and the average thief will just go for the flag the randoms are taking care of later.

I had some great 1vs1 with good thief players. A lot of fun. And my main is a warrior, that is the worst 1vs1 class as we all know by far.

I encountered a lot of good thief players. The really good ones, don’t finish you, they let you stand up again waiting for some nice 1v1 fights. And then it is really fun playing against them.

But sadly most thieves are just annoying.

12/7 FSP/Gandara/Kodash

Nice matchup for change, but Kodash has to fight hard to come out of this matchup with a positive ranking and not loosing points by the end of the week. We really have to tick high most of times to accomplish that.

Who wins a match is of no interest anyway as points are calculated against the ranking of your opponent. FSP is also doing very well so far.

But starting weekend is always different then weekdays. We will see how it develops.

For the guys calling blobs. About 30 people in a group is just your basic prime time zerg. Everyone put up what they can at reset to check out the new opponents. Hardly blobby but laggy of course, even people trying to force it as usual.

Could been different on some maps though at certain times, but I didn’t see any huge blobs and did not run in one. Anyway blobby behaviour is to be expected at prime time on a weekend. I really hope we don’t get a blob fest during the week or I’m leveling another alt.

But good that no one is running a pure karma train putting everyone from their server just in one zerg. I am so sick of seeing 100+ people running autohit at you… It’s boring when playing against it and even more boring when doing it yourself.

Also there were some nice small group fights with some guilds from FSP. Hope to see more of these this week and hopefully some GvG as well.

Also looking forward to a possible comback from Gandara. I doubt you guys give up easily but fight harder when things are looking dark like we Kodashis do.

Also most guilds from Kodash should be open to GvG challenges and most people in late hours for 1v1 as well. Just let us know on the battlefield after a good fight.

Sanctum Sprint....when a good idea goes bad

Similar here. The skill lag is really annoying. I do not have it outside of Sanctum Sprint.

Lightning overshoots sometimes, rubber banding, even the teleport skill teleports me sometimes back to the beginning of the current chekpoint instead to the next, jump skill aborts in mid jump (no I was not hit, I understand the mechanics), running sometimes stops (W or autorun makes no difference) after a skill is used and so on.

In addition, I have been stuck several times underground (I think they fixed this today), got stuck on the course (the revolving door) with no way out and even were once bugged inside a wall.

Also the hit boxes are placed really really lazy. This is a quick job, it was obviously not finished for release and rushed.

I still managed to become a couple of time 2nd or 3rd. But never 1st. Tried it about 50+ times now. Rarely a race that does not suffer these problems for me.

Will not do it again until it gets an update, which is sure due, as this was obviously rushed to release.

I really like the idea, but the execution is seriously flawed. I am not the only one having these issues. Constant chat topic at the end of a race.

Looks like this is an achievement I will not able to get because of technical issues on the server I am powerless against.

For me it would be sheer luck to win this…

Regarding the mechanics: you should keep grounded when hitting a fake upgrade. Fake upgrades are OP as the 1st place can spam them and the 2nd place never has a chance unless the 1st place fumbles really bad.

Congrats to all the guys that do not suffer these problems and actually can enjoy this mini game.

Coverage Balancing?

Reducing number or players will not work. People will complain on servers with high interest in WvW that they cannot play/have too long queues. Same thing, just the other way around. In fact even more people will be annoyed by a smaller player cap.

WvW has no balancing what so ever. It is a playing ground provided to the players to have fun with the rules provided. Take it or leave it.

I assume this will never change as WvW is still aiming at the casual player running in a mindless zerg. This seems to be something Anet does not want to change even though casuals rarely play WvW on a constant base.

One solution is to balance stuff here instead of just throwing the player all together. If you are seriously outnumbered you need something to make up for it to even things out.

I am not saying try to make it even – just close the gap to a certain point.

Even multiple tiers of a re-worked outmanned buff can be used here that works on both sides. Not going into detail here but it is pretty straight forward.

Another solution is to make WvW alliance based as people already mentioned often.

Guilds can join into an alliance for WvW and play on an alliance server that has no connection to the actual home server. Guilds can move by spending a lot of their influence based on their number of players and it only can be done every x weeks.

Alliances are create by guilds itself and are not related to the home servers. To create an alliance you need at least a certain amount of players inside it, so guilds are forced to combine their efforts leveraging the existing server infrastructure.

Fine tuning needs to be based on the available hardware and network resources. Again, not more resources are needed, the players are just redistributed on their own. This will even out numbers in the long run.

And give people one instance where they can do their GvG, time on their is payed like a custom PvP arena. And these are happy as well. Basically leveraging temporary alliance here that can be build by guild influence out of normal “league” play.

And the rank system can be also revisited when players are distributed (e.g. tier them by alliance size, put caps on alliances, etc.). Not going into the possibilities here. They come natural.

To sum it up: WvW has a distribution of player problem (numbers/coverage). So how do we solve it? By keeping as it is and closing the gap by some balancing or redistribute players (forcing large WvW population to split up, and smaller to group up).

WvW playing mechanics are a completely different thing. But most people will be more happy if the game is more even for them.

Just my “raw” thoughts on the topic…

Do not like the new puzzle: it has HUGE camera issues that need to be fixed here to make it entertaining.

Good that I already got my Dive Master achievement and just had to go for the chest and not do it again.

But with some rework on certain places this could really be a great JP.

Reward in the chest: crap. But hey, did anyone expect something else in a JP chest?

Second. Putting any achievement for a Living Story in the Eternal Battlegrounds JP is asinine. This JP is hard enough at the best of times let alone requiring more players to be in there.

It requires some patience and time, but Obsidian Sanctum it is not that hard. The new one was a pain for me because of camera positions. But that might just be me.

Sure it is annoying when people camping inside the WvW JPs. But usually the only stay at the entrance and there are rarely a lot of campers further down once you reach the dark zone.

If you find the JP too hard, roll a mesmer for it and/or run with a group and just wipe the few campers deeper down. The campers usually have zero skill, that’s why they camp. As people are currently running Obsidian Sanctum for the achievement it should be no problem to find a group that gets you through.

Some content has to be harder. Not everything should be for casual playing. You might miss some achievements on a personal story. If everyone could get every achievement like it has been, it would be bad. All people can get their PvE reward chest, but may not get all Achievements.

It is good that Anet is changing things here as long as they are not lucky based like the infamous “Crabtacular”, which was a huge fail.

Finally. The dungeon is ridiculous. I go from doing pretty well in PvE, to being insta-killed in this dungeon. I just spent three…yes, three hours with a group that has had little issues in the past doing dungeons, and we never did beat Mai.

Actually, the dungeon itself is quite easy once you understood the mechanics. Not like a mindless CoF run where people run with MF armor.

I got horrible wiped the first two times with a pug at the first boss over and over again until we gave up after over an hour.

Then I finally found a group with two guy who did it already a couple of times. Because of me and two other noobs it was not a smooth run. We got wiped two times at the end, until we understood the mechanics of the fight and could apply them to what we were doing.

Now I completed it once, understand the mechanics and I can get pugs through it, if they have at least some movement skills.

The achievements on the other hand are not easy. But hey, they are called achievements for a couple of reasons. I try to get them, if I can find a decent dungeon runner group that wants them as well.

If you are getting insta-killed over and over again, then you are doing something wrong and did not change things you as a group were doing. It takes a bit time to find out how the dungeons works.

Here are some pointers for your group:

To beat Mai, do not stand all at the same place and do not move a lot. There will be tons of circles in the second phase. Just distribute nicely. 4 people in each corner, one in the middle. And it just require a few steps not to get hit by the circles. If you are running and dodging like hell and group up there will be be more and more circles as they are targeted at individual players. Stay far away from each other, like the five dots on a dice and you will make it through in a couple of tries.

And for getting the shields of Mai down before that phase: stay close the her and move around. If you go to far away, she teleports and kills you one by one. And make sure you have a lot of group wide condition removal here. Then get her into the electric circles and when the shields a gone just DPS her.

The mechanics are just a bit different here. The thing with all dungeons is: you have to figure out the mechanics and this needs some tries. If you keep getting wiped, you are trying the same over and over again.

If your inventory is full you cannot load the Matrix Cube Key. You have to have at least one empty inventory place.

Looks like the logic in the game is: add a new key and then remove the old one. If you do not have a free inventory slot then the the new key gets not added even though the dialog shows that you loaded it (interaction with the loading station).

It should be a proper replace not requiring an additional free inventory slot.

Not a biggie but can be annoying if you made it through the nasty ice room JP, load the key and leave and then see that the loading of ice was not added and you have to do it again while people are waiting that you open the portal to the Steam Ogre.

There was some nice small group fight this evening on the SFR borderlands. We fought some party with mesmers/guardians. We could not get them down. They beat us fair and square and we left after a couple of minutes, leaving one dead party member behind. Kudos to the group who ever you are. Was great fun!

Wished there were more fights for some minutes like this now and then.

Seal of Union is still farmable as before. Farmers just need to group up a bit better.

They need to nerf this way more. Maybe making the ghost just adds that don’t drop any loot or it will continue to be the top farm spot.

For one person destroying the walls: farmers are just moving away to the side and usually single players gets killed by the ghosts they pulled. If not they just guest on a different server for a while.

Still uncontested, just checked it.

When guesting you have to actually travel to the map before it shows as uncontested for you. Looks it does not always automatically update for whatever reason when guesting (bug? new bug?)
