Absolutely not, I would have to buy new gear for all my characters. Not to mention transmute it all, it would be a nightmare.
And this is exactly why they would do it. More people buying things off the gem shop. In case you guys haven’t already figured it out, the game is just one big cash shop. Nothing else.
There are limits to how far they can go. They have to find a balance between high prices and keeping people playing, if playing the game becomes too expensive players will just quit. Increasing the level cap wil cause many people to quit.
Making money or not, increasing the level cap is absolutely kittened and will only backfire. Screwing (yes that’s exactly what it is) with your customers is bad for business.
If they just wanted to make money, they would have implemented a monthly fee from the start.
Asking not increase the level cap is like asking to stop ascended gear from coming.
No because ascended gear is already here. A level cap is not, it’s just something they said that might come in the distant future. So there is hope

(entitlement much?)
Oh you are one of those people? Seriously do people even know what entitled means these days? Lately everyone who even dares to voice their opinions and criticize the game gets immediately accused of feeling entitled, seriously…. It’s so kitten infuriating. It’s used so often that I actually find it offensive.
This thread gives the perfect example, someone finds anet’s exposition “Underwhelming” and is immediately accused of feeling entitled. Seriously stop this nonsense already.
It’s called CRITICISM.
And, this also gives a bit more details on the insight to their Living World process and the game’s design strategy.
It showed us absolutely nothing… N-O-T-H-I-N-G (a pronoun denoting the absence of anything) that we didn’t know yet. (except for the short preview)

Any more detail for folks trapped in the office and whose company’s system security protocols prevent watching a bit of youtube?
Besides a small preview video about the new path in TA, nothing interesting believe me. They just talked a lot about things we already know, and every interesting question was dodged.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I can sort of understand why they’re being ambiguous about things, although some transparency would have been welcomed.
If they start a Q&A they should be able to actually answer the questions. Don’t start a Q&A if you are going to be “ambiguous”.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Most of it was about stuff we already know, mixed up with a ton of PR bull.
And of course, every interesting question got dodged.

What kind of wannabe WoW this would be
You are joking right?
~Sincerely, Scissors
I’m pretty sure GvG and Guild Halls are in the works right now and will be released with a massive Guild Patch with a lot of well done mechanics. The longer they work on that, the higher is the chance that it will be awesome, so patience might be the answer.
I hope you are right.
~Sincerely, Scissors
What’s even more stupid is that the game got it’s name from events that happened even before GW1 and had absolutely nothing to do with both games, especially gw2.
It had very much to do with more or less everything in Prophecies at least.
Prophecies was about a group of adventures fleeing from Ascalon after the searing, only to end up in a war between the dwarves and stone summit, then in a war between the shining blade and white mantle and last but not least an epic battle against an undead lich. I didn’t see any major influence from the guild wars besides some references and old grudges.
Factions had nothing to do with it
Nightfall had nothing to do with it
Guild Wars 2 has nothing to do with it
~Sincerely, Scissors
tl;dr if you are against a level cap increase, you are killing the game
No
A level cap increase is totally the only way to keep people playing, sure, totally, uhu….
~Sincerely, Scissors
See here the size of a human compared to a norn. Now, half the size of that human and you have your answer.
I always like running around Hoelbrak with my asura characters, I actually have to climb to get on their chairs/tables.
~Sincerely, Scissors
This would actually be pretty cool.

“=” does mean queal….. IDK what you mean by an ! in front of it, but the way I read it is that you said Medieval = fantasy, for all I knew that “!” was just that an ! mark.
Anet never said it was a medieval game and GW2 is 200years after GW1, in 200 years a lot can be learned.
Indeed “=” does mean equal.
I did however not write “=” but rather “!=” which is does mean not equal. (Maybe I should stop assume that people know programming-terms though, to avoid misunderstandings)If you actually read the rest of my post and the posts I commented on I would say that it is quite clear that I have never stated that a fantasy game needs to be medieval.
On that note, can someone please tell me what =/= means? I always assumed it meant ‘not equal’. but now I’m not so sure.

Don’t fix me! I’m not broken!
~Sincerely, Scissors
Absolutely not. There are plenty of people who don’t like fractals, I am one of them. I’ve always been able to simply avoid this place, because it’s completely optional. Adding Agony to the PvE world would make doing fractals mandatory.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I love immersive weather effects in games.
Heavy rain and thunder, make it happen anet!
~Sincerely, Scissors
Who said a world filled with technology can’t be fantasy? Fantasy is not the same as Medieval.

Ideally, ALL 5 members in the party should have ascended weapons and complete ascended trinkets. With builds completely tweaked for running this dungeon path. Expect beyond level 50+ fractals type of HARD…

I have 14 alts, and still a stack of those stones in my bank. I really get too many of those kitten things XD
~Sincerely, Scissors
I second this.
~Sincerely, Scissors
The coming update certainly isn’t epic, but eh, it’s free
~Sincerely, Scissors
I have a lot of alts, so I welcome more back items.
~Sincerely, Scissors
That guide has you crafting all exotics to get to level 500 which is not a good idea.
You can do 400-425 by refining t6 mats and you can do 450-475 by refining t7 mats.
Hmmm, interesting.
~Sincerely, Scissors
How can you play like that :O
I seriously can’t play any game under 30 fps. 20-30 drives me crazy and lower than 20 is just impossible for me.The human eye can only process 12 frames a second. 24fps is smooth and a standard in TV/movies. 120fps in a game is just an overheated system hehe
I’ve heard about that before. But I swear to you, I can clearly see a difference between 20 and 30 fps or 30 and 40 fps. Probably because of the way our brain interprets the images.
~Sincerely, Scissors
How about No Halloween at all? it is not so inspiring having the same rotation of events every year.
Then you bought the wrong game, it’s always been this way in Guild Wars.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Please - make a "use all" function for stacks
in Suggestions
Posted by: Windu The Forbidden One.6045
-1 this is your problem. A-Net is not forcing you to first get full stack of items then consume them
Nobody is forcing you to use this function either (if it gets added). Seriously calm down, he is just making a suggestion about an option used for convenience. What problem could you possibly have with a request for such a simple and optional feature?
I would like this option for karma drips.
Also, from a realistic point of view, you can’t eat 250 pies in 1 bite. That would feel weird
From a realistic point of view, you can’t drink Karma either. Karma is not a thing, it can’t be bottled. But luckily, realism does not apply in a fantasy video game.

If you pay 200g, you are doing something wrong.
You propably follow a mediocre guide on the internet that everybody else uses and dont gather stuff yourself.
I used the guides from http://gw2crafts.net/
I thought they were the best ones around?
~Sincerely, Scissors
Hah! joke’s on you, I run the game on lowest of lowest settings and have no more than 7-8 FPS at any given time.
oh wait…..
:C
How can you play like that :O

Try turning post processing down/off. Not shaders.
Post processing doesn’t cause that hideous light effect, only the blur and bloom.
I’m pretty sure it does. From the wiki:
Shaders – Controls the quality of various shader effects, such as wind and lighting. Adjust to lower cheaper materials and fewer textures, which can improve performance for low-end GPUs.
vs
Post-Processing – Controls visual quality such as bloom, depth blurring, portal distortion, character lines, light rays, and selective scene tinting.
In any case turning off post processing gets rid of the glare from scenes in my game.
Doesn’t change the fact that the lighting effect seen in the screenshot goes away when I set shaders on medium (or lower) and appears when I set it on high. And post processing settings don’t change it at all.
~Sincerely, Scissors

oh god, turned it from high to medium and it makes my character’s skin look like cheese, really ugly
Maybe it depends on someone’s graphic card, because for me, shaders on high looks terrible.
Like this (not my screenshot btw): https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/85489/gw009.jpg

That clocktower really was my worst nightmare, I hope I never have to see a jumping puzzle like that ever again. Though many people seem to like it so I’m sure anet will make more jumping puzzles just like it.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I have the shattered holographic wings on my warrior and the Jade shield. So I am lucky, because it hides the wings when not in combat, and as soon as I draw my weapons the wings flap out. It looks so cool

The funny thing is, I’m sure if I made a thread saying “help this guy out – need advice” nobody would bat an eyelid.
BUT OF COURSE THE GIRL IS OBVIOUSLY JUST ATTENTION SEEKING
/sarcasm
This is exactly what I was thinking.
~Sincerely, Scissors
most of the EU population is german.
Do you have any evidence to support this?
~Sincerely, Scissors
Why did you mentioned in the title that you’re a girl? To get more attention and quick help? Nobody cares if you’re a girl or not, they’ll still help you.
Aren’t you a bit overreacting?
~Sincerely, Scissors
I always have shaders on medium, any higher and it turns everything into latex.
~Sincerely, Scissors
Over 200g just to go from 400 to 500 crafting level!? Why!??
I was really shocked by this, I thought about 30-50g would do it, but this is just overkill.
I’d like to know how other people feel about this, because so far it seems no one has a problem with this.

Oh no, not another election..

Conversation in guild chat yesterday:
Quicks (who is an Asura): Yeah, I’ve been sick the last couple of days, so I haven’t been on…
Me: You know, Sai’s almost done with his pharmacy school, he’s like practically a doctor!
Sai: I don’t treat animals.Luckily Asura aren’t animals
They are the master race, if they are animals the other races would be Amoeba.charr took my juuub
The humans took our land.
Charr stole it from the Forgotten, your point?
Actually, Asurans are all related to Dobby the House Elf…I think they have a sock fetish as well.
And as far as I know, elves aren’t animals
