2015-2016
Fort Aspenwood
Was going to write a really long and deep comment but eh…
People are going to complain to complain. If there part of the game isn’t doing well they feel it must be another part of the games fault.
I think this is a tough one really… Ya, adding an exclusive town to HoT would have been awesome, but on the same token…. it would give the appearance of an empty game in the vanilla areas. Such as Lions Arch, which has not really recovered population wise since it was removed as a main social hub for numerous months.
This would be awesome; however, I do think the colors should be limited to those not used by the game already.
So what hero would that bennefit?
Shiro? makes no sense
Jalis? would be amusing but probably not
Glint? probable but that’s what shield is tied too directly….
Ventari? nah he’s a healer
Mallyx? Maybe
I can see Revenant getting it as an Elite Specialization weapon, for what legend that would be… i have no clue o.O ….. maybe Jora? (Inb4 the WoW kids cry about a GW1 hero)
As a solo player, i could careless about season 4… it’s going to be the same as season 3 for many…
Nothing at all to work towards and stay motivated for besides an icon next to your name which means nothing in reality.
Got the back piece
Got the mini even though i’m never going to use it, since i like the raid minis.
Soo longer queue for nothing but more salt….
i’ll just stick with unranked again this season
I reported on everything up to 2-3 weeks ago… (maybe longer, sorta blurred out on when my last day was)
As mentioned above, a developer has posted recently.
They’ve seen the complaints and suggestions.
What I was told is that they will not always reply to threads. They don’t want to be cornered into something unless they know and plan on going in that direction. They don’t want to promise something or say something that may hint at a totally opposite idea and have the player base get furious at them.
The footfalls is what’s the most annoying…
You can barely see them and they don’t stay up that long….
The sound i’m cool with it being at the level that it is… If I wanted loud and obnoxious i’d just use my Dreamer more…
I do like that Chuka Champawat is more subtle… just wish the footfalls lasted as long as the other legendaries…or their brightness were increased by 50% or so
Can you give us some more information?
Obviously you’re a thief or ranger so it’s medium armor.
But is your armor more metal based or leather based?
Is it an outfit?
Dyes react differently based on the material you’re dying.
Could do a rogue mantle look with: Celestial, Rosewood, and Golden Lion
Or as suggested above with a darker color scheme
Long ways down the road if that….
Only reason Guild Wars 2 even exists is due to limitations that Guild Wars 1 had…
- No Swimming
-No Jumping
- Couldn’t walk up hills
Unless NCSOFT holds a gun to Anets head and tells them to release GW3 or the doors will be locked, i don’t see it happening any time soon.

Been that way even in GW1
Jalis- effective at keeping opponents near him and fighting in melee.
- Inspiring reinforcement could have been a radial knock down while granting stability to allies
- Forced engagement could have been a pull similar to DH spear of justice
- Vengeful hammers could apply cripple on hit along with its current functions
- 3/4 sec cast time on Rite of the great dwarfShiro – effective at mobility and evasion which for the most part it does already, really dont know about the energy requirements though
Ventari – Ranged (longbow) and effective at support
- AoE ally blocks
- AoE ally cleanses
- AoE ally heals
*Could have had the tablet be manipulated to shift around doing all this while the caster is at range.Glint – Effective at boon application
- convert condis to boons
- grants ally boons (pretty much what it does now
- heal should have been swapped with jalis and then had the new heal convert a few condis to boons
Facet of nature then could be removed and actually design an interesting F2 skill or none at all.Mallyx – effective at condis
- remove resistance boon or move it to herald then have Mallyx deal with conditions some other way, maybe a non boon utility with native condi immunity/mitigation/duration decreaseWith this kind of set up, you wouldnt have revenants only using shiro glint.
I like some of those suggestions but the Ventari is a mortal sin one in my books…
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ventari
I understand most people do not care about GW1 because they didn’t play it but ya…
True he was a Warrior in his youth; however, he is well known and respected for setting up a sanctuary of peace for all races. Giving a Long Bow would be a little insulting to that idea….
If Revenant’s were to acquire Long Bow, It would most likely be done as a new Legend, preferably one that is known to use a Long Bow. With all of the GW2 exclusive kids screaming for no connections to GW1 i’d imagine they would probably go with Eir since she's dead
I still think they should have added an Under Water Legend…
Plenty of fine choices… personally… since Revenant can use Spear I would have done the no brainer and made a Legendary Hero for Under Water called Archemorus
For the WoW kids who never touched GW1 this is who Archemorus is:
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Archemorus
Or they go with a GW2 curve ball and use:
Eir since she's dead... this would allow for Long Bow usage
Ritualist sounds like a cool idea, if they do this.. I wonder if Xandra, Razah or Master Togo
would get the tap for it… personally I would love to see Master Togo get tapped for it.
Imo, it should stay Character birthdays WITH the exception being to Revenant Characters created on Heart of Thorns Release….
To me, those who chose to make a Revenant on Heart of Thorns Release should be based on your Account Age.
Not only no but hell no…
People who supported Guild Wars franchise from the beginning should have something to show for it. It’s already easy enough that 4 years after GW2 has been released that people can buy GW Prophecies + Eye of the North and obtain gear in GW2…. That’s very generous of ANET to do imo.
If anything, I would like to see more added from GW1 to the Hall of Monuments vendor and a couple of titles to be ported over.
Legendary Defender of Ascalon, imo; should be a portable title from GW1 to GW2. Even with the relatively recent changes to it, it’s still a pretty remarkable accomplishment. Those who acquired it before the change definitely deserve to have it in GW2 to brag about.
Rainbow Phoenix, would have been an awesome pet to have ported over to GW2. Shows that you made some nice progress in your Hall of Monuments in GW1.
In no way, should GW1 players be punished by having their years of dedication and loyalty to the franchise vaporized… because a couple of new players want to feel like veterans without the hard work….
They need to add more to the reward list….
Season Tickets…
Shards of Glory…
After you get the back piece they really serve no value.
Your only other option is a Llama with very small cosmetic differences each tier.
I know I reported on a ton of options they could have done for a reward table but I guess we will wait and see if they will do anything about it… if not next season will be the same as this season for me.Ranked PvP just for fun and when i’m really bored
I think adding a couple to the game would help increase the number of players in the zone… even if it is for a little while.
We have Risen Slayer so why not Mordrem Slayer?
Plenty of Dinosaurs/bristlebacks so maybe a Saurian Slayer
Wyvern Slayer?
Feline Slayer?
I’d rather they just do away with glicko and learn that it’s a team based game and not a solo player game. If they are that hell bent on Glicko, Microsoft has developed an alternative called TrueSkill that is based on Glicko …. At least with TrueSkill, even though its not perfect… it was developed with the purpose of multi player unlike Glicko which was developed for Chess players.
I’m waiting for the “only map that should exist is _______”
As long as:
Poly
B —-- e —-—- e really? an insect is censored? for christs sake
Chak
SAB
and other particle based infusions / slot addons are added as well.
Just an idea,
What if they fixed up DBL and made it a little more bearable. Gliding in the open area spaces, no gliding near towers or keeps. Just polished it up and made it enjoyable.Create another map
Make Red Server = DBL for their Border Lands
Make Blue Server = New Map for their Border Lands
Make Green Server = Alpine for their BorderlandsEB stays EB
Best of all case scenario. Your literally have a pick and chose situation. If you like Alpine and you’re red one week, go play on Alpine and help your server in points.
Problem with your idea is that there are a lot of players like myself and my guild who literally only play on Alpine. We didn’t really care for EBG pre-HOT but only played there because it was significantly better than DBL when DBL was around. Whatever map is Alpine would be queued all the time, which would irritate me if my guild and I are stuck waiting in queue to play the only map I care for.
It’s a valid point; however, couldn’t you flip the argument around?
Guild X is only playing in EB because Alpine is too small or too boring looking for them? on FA/BP atm, there is a queue for EB so Guild X has to wait atm.
Just an idea,
What if they fixed up DBL and made it a little more bearable. Gliding in the open area spaces, no gliding near towers or keeps. Just polished it up and made it enjoyable.

I’d rather them do something else…. you have server leaders getting very paranoid before, during and after a tournament. They end up wiping everyone’s rights out of spy phobia. People naturally will flock to a top tier server to get their pretty shinnies.
Unlike PvP, you really can’t gossip or trash talk without your thread getting deleted. So there is no true competitive spirit to it…. E.g.
PvP: Did you hear what ____ said? Allowed to continue
WvW: Did you hear what ____ server said about us? Locked
PvP: ____ left to join ______. Allowed to continue
WvW: ____guild left to join _. Locked.
So it would just be a “there’s a wvw tournament, don’t talk about it, just do it”
There’s no fun in that
I have begged Anet the last month now, with my weekly reports…
no response yet ….
I would be happy if it used Mesmers Great Sword 1 sound. Both weapons are classified as beams.
I use all clerics for WvW, i like to chill with Zergs or small havoc squads and keep everyone alive that i can.
Staff/ Axe + Warhorn.
Staff 1 alone, i get plenty of tags
Most likely one of two scenarios:
You Missed a queue as stated by Black Sun
or you Disconnected in your previous match and didn’t make it back in time.
Didn’t know if you knew about it or not, but the finisher sort of already exists.
Rainbow Unicorn FinisherOf course I know it exists, I explicitly referenced it and seen it in action. It only seems to be available whenever I’m taking a big break from the game.
I’m overall satisfied with the quaggans and llama though one can never have too many finishers.
Because the lore of the game is based on serious issues and its a war torn world and you, as a character, run around helping people with the nasty enemies causing them problems. That is the entirety of the game.
Adventure Time takes place in a post-apocolyptic era and has a dark history but still manages to be whimsical. Everything tries so hard to be gritty and grit has so oversaturated everything that people started looking for something else.
Cutting PL won’t create more fun build options. Cutting PL won’t re-instate the cancelled new legendary weapon project. Cutting PL won’t give WvWrs the last 8 months of their game mode back, and it won’t do crap to help the game’s reputation.
I think what he was trying to say was the game simply wasn’t ready for a pro-league. The potential was there but unfortunately the game has too many variables at a base level to balance properly. With revenant added we have 8,001 potential matchups not counting the different ways a single class can be traited, weapon, sigil, rune, and utility choices, etc. In other words it’s very easy to overlook adding cheese to the game despite the devs’ best efforts. Sure there’s still some degree of skill and on the fly judgments but e-sports need to be spectator friendly too.
if you are functioning alcoholic and still performing, nobody cares.
Sure .. if you are working at McDonaldsHe wasn’t on the clock and didn’t say anything offensive. He just said what he thought.
Ah ok, i misunderstood what you meant.
I’m dropping my diplomatic attitude for a while. Let me tell you that from a perspective of someone who interacts with real-life professionals, nothing, nothing in GW2 is professional. ESL are like kids in a playground – no direction, horrible organisation, abhorrent conduct, thoughtlessly designed ProLeague rules, no balls for taking quick and real action, no proper communication, and absolutely disgusting music on breaks during ProLeague.
Anet? Same – no direction for the game, no balance, no communication, no substantial action taken to fix the state of affairs.
Players? Money-hungry kids using dirty tricks to have their shot at earning their first money in life. Hiding behind stupid rules and terrible design.Since most people seem not to realize that – people in real life get fired for such behaviour, because the moment things go wrong and customers start complaining, the real professionals at the top start cleaning the mess up. That’s what GW2 is – a total mess, and there are no professionals to clean it up.
I never thought I’d say that but the only ones who deserve recognition are the duo of EU shoutcasters (I don’t watch NA, so no opinion there) who work in this rough environment and somehow manage to keep their kitten together.I took a 5-month-something break from active playing and I wanted to come back for good for S3. I log in, no one’s online, see people logging in every few days just to chat and bash the game. That’s a major waste of time. As Henry put it – shambles.
Most of the intelligent human beings already quit because there’s just so much rubbish you can take before you notice that it’s going nowhere and the remains of faith for Anet that still linger are not enough to counterbalance the top releases at the end of May. We can always come back since the game will surely live on and there’s no barriers, but one has got to be delusional to think that new games designed bottom-up for PvP releasing in the coming years won’t challenge GW2 to the point of being obsolete. No fun left.
Ohh, and I saw a guy with Chaos Gloves and a sloth on his back spamming quaggans wearing aviator caps and flying attached to balloons. What is this kitten art direction? Your game used to look like a painting, and then you decided to add wings.
Ohh-encore, and writing here is also a waste of time because let’s face it, no one with real power reads it, making it just an echo chamber, and a fight club.
Yup. Spot on as usual dude. The problem with the whole esports thing is that it just displays the game in a terrible light when it is actually a well coded and designed game. But its just not cut out for competitive pvp for money. So in fact, all their 400k does is makes people think the game is a joke. A big reason for gw2s damaged reputation online is the pro league and the esports in general. They should cut it immediately if they want to maintain whats left of the reputation of the game.
And I agree on the games art direction. They added a load of BS for My Little Pony fans into the gem store. It used to have great art. Now it’s just pink quaggan back packs and other rubbish like that. The game in pve and wvw is no longer serious as a result. There is no grit to the art anymore. Its just a load of pink shiny stuff that doesnt fit with the world they created in anyway whatsoever.
I’m still waiting on that Pony finisher and made the Dreamer before it was an MLP reference. Why do you even want the PvE game to be “serious” anyway? I think pink quaggans and all that silly stuff is fun and lightens the game’s mood. If anything they haven’t gone far enough, I want my T-Rex humanoid race riding a skateboard!
Doesn’t even have to be a mastery could be a simple toy. And what’s wrong with the Pro-League music? Is everything suddenly worthy of complaint now? If the game were totally dull color and design wise it’d get boring, no one wants to see the 10 billionth Lord of the Rings copy people want to see cool and fun stuff too.
Didn’t know if you knew about it or not, but the finisher sort of already exists.

Yeah……no you can’t.
Can’t what?:p
He’s a troll, ignore him.
All he did yesterday was run around the PvP lobby and harass people based on how they looked and the gem over their head.
This isn’t the first time they have interviewed or invited someone who gave the game a black eye publicly…..
Any other game, would have revoked their rights to shout cast.
On the bright side, you can say that it’s awesome that ANET let’s them invite people to bash their product openly. You can say it’s awesome that shout casters are allowed to encourage negative behavior.
Moving on to Argi, if he is that upset over the way Guild Wars 2 is heading PvP wise, there are more beneficial ways of making your voice heard then being a drunken slob on stream.
Personally, I say suspend Argi from tournament play for next season and move on. There’s no need for drunks to be on stream… there’s no need to advertise non-partner merchandise on stream, there’s no need to bash a game on stream.
Let’s start from the top:
1.The game was made in Direct X9 despite it being very old even by the standards of when the game was made.
2.Serious balance issues taking too long to resolve.
3.Lack of a PvP/PvE split.
4.Homogenization of roles and obsolescence of classes.
5.Too many safety nets for classes
6.Too many charged interrupts and too long precasts so by the time air focus 5 procs the opponent will heal up despite you having the twitch reactions and instinct to stop him. On thief distracting daggers has too long of a precasts but is otherwise a great skill and an example of a potential step in the correct direction, but within the context of too many blocks and passives it falls flat.
7.Other skills aren’t telegraphed well enough.
8.While AoE and CC have their place they need to be cut down across the board. More stability access is just a bandaid on a broken bone.
I don’t see how 1-8 have to do with what you quoted, seems like you saw “Forum Specialist” and decided to create an laundry list of complaints. Most of which have been reported on for weeks now.
Moving on to Argi, if he is that upset over the way Guild Wars 2 is heading PvP wise, there are more beneficial ways of making your voice heard then being a drunken slob on stream.
Then please enlighten us all which more beneficial way is still left untouched.
The whole tournament was just between the top 3 teams and who will gain a spot at the wts. If there occurs a problem in one of the matches between those three teams, then you have to do a replay. There is – from a completely objective pov – no other option to handle this properly.
The problem was voiced in every possible way AND still ArenaNet did not react.
Personally, I say suspend Argi from tournament play for next season and move on. There’s no need for drunks to be on stream… there’s no need to advertise non-partner merchandise on stream, there’s no need to bash a game on stream.
I suggest you do your job properly too and tell ArenaNet that the pvp forum community calls ArenaNet out for doing a bad job at handling those ddos problems AND not intervene with Argis freedom of speech.
He, in fact, did not ‘bash’ the game. He did not call it any names what so over, he just said the plain and obvious truth. Just because you personally would like that the truth is different, you are definitely not allowed to behave like a dictator -.- come on, think it truth what you are demanding.
Aren’t you a lovely kid.
I guess you have seen all the weekly reports i’ve sent out?
I can send emails every week, I can’t force them to do anything. Then again you probably never bothered to read what a Forum Specialist is. You can use the search feature of these forums or use google and look it up. I’ve gone over this numerous time and I’m not going to waste any more time talking about it.
As pointed out before,
MJ doesn’t Bash the NBA
Steven Stamkos Doesn’t bash the NHL
Evan Longoria doesn’t bash the NBA
If anything, I think it would be a good idea to free the names from an account that are Permanently banned after 6 months.
If you can’t get your account unbanned after 6 months, you aren’t going to get it unbanned ever….
Free To Play Accounts, It would be cool if there were a limitation to reserve a name due to inactivity. Maybe, if you are do not log in after 1 year your name becomes available. The following Restrictions in place:
- Only Free to Play Accounts
-Did NOT buy an Expansion
-Did NOT buy the base game
So truly free to play accounts who do not log in for 1 year will be effected.
People who spent money on an account, should be allowed to keep their names until ANET pulls the plug on the game. The exception, being; if your account is permanently banned after 6 months serving said ban.

Sorry I am not familiar with the lore yet or the entirety of the game for that matter. It’s just a great game, I wish content was pumped out faster while still being quality. 3-4 years and only 1 xpac? I came from WoW, played since vanilla. But the game is just stale, mostly from slow release dates and killing off all the good characters. This game is fun even without knowing anything, I could whirlwind around aimlessly and enjoy myself. The weapon art on the Halloween models are fantastic!!!
Glad you are liking the game :P
If you want to be even more blown away by the game, I would suggest diving in the lore a bit. You can start from the very beginning in Guild Wars 1.
You can still purchase and play:
Guild Wars: Prophecies
Guild Wars: Factions
Guild Wars: Nightfall
Guild Wars: Eye of the North
Plus, while learning the lore of Guild Wars, you are able to earn Rewards and Achievement Points for Guild Wars 2.
Official Store:
http://store.guildwars.com/store/gw/cat/categoryID.67871700
You Can find them much much cheaper on:
Amazon
Game Stop/ EB Games (depending on your location)
A Mom and Pop Game Shop (Pensacola Example being Homefield)
Hall of Monuments Calc:
https://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=welcome
If you don’t want to spend any cash and just want to read the lore you can check out the original wiki :
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page
Once you know the Lore from Guild Wars, you will find Guild Wars 2 lore more interesting and would appreciate some of the smaller things. It would also make a lot more sense why certain races behave in certain ways
Not to mention, it’s just cool to see how the maps changed from GW1 to GW2… some for the better, some for the worse.
i dual log gw2 and gw1 sometimes this never happened to me.
More info on my side,
Both GW2 and GW1 are full Screen
Running Two Monitors, one for gaming, one for everything else.
Windows 10 Pro
32 GB Ram
8 Core i7 4.00 GHz
AMD Radeon R9 4GB
What are your specs and last time you tried playing both?
I just want to compare our situations
I’ve noticed this a few times now, I’ve reported this on the crash logs and in game as well.
If you have Guild Wars & Guild Wars 2 running at the same time, and you alt tab back and forth between games, Guild Wars 2 visually breaks.
This only happens on Guild Wars 2. Nothing happens on Guild Wars.
All the tobjects on the map take that effect as well ._.
I know multiple levels of difficulty has been discussed. How does this idea sound to encourage everyone to give Raids a try:
Have the bosses drop an Insight Piece (takes 8 pieces to gain a whole insight) about 33% of the time each time it splits a phase…
Can’t tell if you’re trolling or being serious….
I personally, prefer this new system over the old system. The only other option I could think of them doing, which is something everyone would rage against… it to delete the lower pop servers and force those players on the lesser populated servers.
A part of me would like to buy this for my Druid… but…. I have all 3 flutes already
and the Fiery Harvesting Tools….
and the Halloween Harvesting Tools…
I need help…
1) Tengu
2) Itzel
3) Kodan
4) Largos
5) Skritt
Superior Rune of the Mad King (6/6)
(6) 20% bleeding duration; summon ravens to attack nearby enemies when you activate an elite skill.
The Bug
They aren’t ravens… they are eagles or hawkes… they definitely aren’t black or dark purple.
soo wrong model being used.
1) Stay near your group, unless you’re bunkering a point.
2) Celestial Avatar is your friend, not a crutch. Use it.
3) Learn your pets abilities and use them at the proper times.
3 A) If using smoke scale… DON’T USE THE F2 ON POINT
4) Sublime Conversion is a must use staff skill when engaging at Mid.
5) You’re not a thief, you can take more hits and survive.. don’t panic and run off point.
6) You’re not a Revenant, you can’t eat a ton of damage. Know when to use your pet as a meat shield.
7)Beyond popular belief, you are not obligated to stay on Long Bow the whole fight, so don’t do it. Reflects hurt… a lot… a lot lot lot.
8) Turn off Map Chat
9) Turn off Say Chat
8-9 you have some people who believe rangers and druids shouldn’t be in PvP or Raids or Fractals or Dungeons…. they are still stuck in 2012 mindset wise.
Mad King Runes….
I love walking up to someone and popping Entangle and doing /sit
+ it’s amusing to see ravens that aren’t ravens but are eagles… appear and peck your target.
Oh this thread again, I thought it died off last month for good….
1) You aren’t forced to play it
2) Every Class will eventually have an elite spec that will give them something new
2A) If you’re so kitten, look on the bright side, we got the healing portion out of the way.
2B) You’re still very upset this long after HoT release?
3) If it hurts your feelings that much go play Dragon Hunter, they have traps, they have long bows… and they even have pet on perma stow for not getting one.
witch one should i make for condi build shortbow, axe or torch?
I would ask, which other classes do you play?
Short Bow:
Thief
Ranger
Torch:
Mesmer
Warrior
Guardian
Ranger
Axe:
Revenant
Warrior
Ranger
Necromancer
It would make sense to craft a Legendary you can use on multiple classes. Especially, if you have no desire to make numerous legendaries.
They must have been driving a Toyota….
Really should stick it to them and ban them for a year from tournament play. (calendar wise not just 2016)
(edited by Wolfey.3407)
They really need to separate the skills and traits between PvP and PvE … I have asked for this numerous times. The only excuse I’ve seen is that it would be too time consuming. Granted that was over a year ago and we have a new game director so…..
I’m fine with a range nerf, with the right positioning you can still pull off clutch plays in PvP. With Stronghold, you can still be very annoying by standing off to the side and pulling the lord up to you for a quick res. The same thing can be done with the Lord on foe fire, just by standing a little in the back to rip the lord away from a stomp.
In the recent AMA there were discussions and I saved it to work on a professions and combat post that is still in the works…

Question from DarkNecrid…
“Can you provide a succinct statement on why ArenaNet is against splitting skills between PvE/W3/PvP because I’m glad you guys are not doing it due to what happened in GW1 when ArenaNet did this (PvE become more wildly imbalanced with massive power creep on skills that became completely different from their former counterpart like Signet of Spirits, PvP was balanced about the same prior to it, class mechanics changed between both formats, added another huge barrier of entry into PvP which is a format that already has a huge barrier of entry which killed off the PvP population pretty fast etc) but a lot of people still seem to want it even though the Guild Wars 2 ArenaNet has spent time these past few years actually reverting the splits you guys did do around launch so you seem to be against it as well with little statement as to why?
”
Answer from Isaiah Cartwright…
“We are not fully against it but it adds a lot of overhead to every balance and design decisions as you move forward. While it does give you another tool box it does lead to optimizing skills heavily for each game type which does make power creep. like Mike Z always says and Colin gets blamed for its on the table and it’s something we may use in the future but we do often find most issues are global issues that are just highlighted in one area.”
My thoughts about this…
Professions and combat are the most important aspects and experience for your customers…

No clue why you aimed that at me, I don’t work for ANET. As it has been stated in numerous locations o.O I guess it was just an opportunity for you to spam?
You guys are just arguing for nothing. Elite specs are buy to win. Yes they are stronger, so not deny it. Oh some of you will say “but i own ….. elite spec with my vanilla…”. But that is solely a failure of your opponent.
Elite specs are stronger. Game is buy to win. No problems. This is not e-sports. This is an e-sport club at most, where the distinguished have more privilege. This came can not be an e-sport with current system and balance (including elite vs vanilla).
Yes Anet is a company, and it is not right for it to demand money from us. Especially if we bought the game 8 months before the patch. Oh all the mmos do it? Well they are wrong too. Multitude does not make something right. But you are free to leave. Or accept that there is no equality. And there will never be. Anet is not the family you have been longing for. It is a bloody company that aims to profit.
I do not have HoT. And will not have until the mentality of anet changes. I neber wanted a druid on my ranger, or a dh on my guardian. Or another melee dps on my thief. And still we have several bugs and balance fixes that are needed. Until then I will not spend a single dollar for a game that demands 50 bucks again after 8 months. If I wanted to pay that, I would play WoW.
So do not bother arguing. And do not think that Anet is your friend. Other players will support anet because they gain something too. Upgrade, buy the expansion…etc. Stop playing pvp. No one can force you to play. If you are not happy, just dont play. I dont. My guild dont. My friends dont.

Rest of your post has valid info and arguments though
I love it when people bring up pay to win, it’s like they need something to validate why they are having such a hard time succeeding.
Much like Call of Duty, and the hundreds of other games that offer DLC’s, console games separate players who have paid for the DLC from accessing new maps, new gear, etc.
Now GW2 needs to either:
1. Disable the Heart of Thorns special builds from PvP
or
2. Separate players who have paid for Heart of Thorns and people who have not.Preferably, PvP adjusts all the armor and weapons so nobody has advantages, GW2 needs to block these special builds, why?
Because it’s simply UNFAIR.Ok I know what you’re thinking, yeah this kid is complaining so what we’ve been hearing this for months, just get better…
Doesn’t it bother anyone that you have to PAY for be better?
1. It’s discouraging playing PvP with the Heart of Thorns build.
2. It makes me feel like I’m not valued as a player.
3. I feel like it ruins the overall competitive spirit of the game.Thoughts?
Just like every MMO known to man kind, with expansions comes new classes and new builds. Comparing GW2 to CoD is a bit far fetched. Unlike Call of Duty, you can still play with people who bought the next expansion. Unlike Call of Duty, there are numerous classes that effect the way you play. Unlike Call of Duty, not every player is created equally by picking up a sniper rifle off the ground. Unlike Call of Duty, the game is not 90% PvP 10% Story.
The whole “i can’t afford HoT so i can never be good” excuse is old and tiring. There have been numerous players who do not own Heart of Thorns who hit Legend. Hell, there have been numerous free accounts who have hit Legend. Unless they hacked their way to it, they must have done something right with the base classes, even if they were being carried by the same 4 people.
You do not have to pay to be better, you just chose to make this an excuse as to why you can’t adapt or why you aren’t willing to try to be better. You want an excuse to validate why you are not progressing. That is on you, not the game.
Yes, the Elite Specializations do make things a little easier; however, it does not replace the skill and experience factor within pvp. I’ve seen people playing Base classes that trash their Elite Spec counterparts.
What you are suggesting is longer queues and special treatment because you refuse to upgrade to the next expansion. Next you will want Anet to create 3 separate servers that is exclusive to the base game that HoT players can not play on. That way they can play in PvE without dealing with HoT players and they can play WvW without dealing with HoT players.
