You could learn the timing/tell of Chaos Storm so she doesn’t drop it on herself and (double) dodge out of it. Her blink attack is easy to dodge/Block, and I’d hope her auto attack hits for less solo because it won’t bounce. That said I’d still be impressed to see someone solo her Guardian or not, e.g juggling projectiles because SoA would get wrecked by Chaos Storm.

nah winds of chaos is like guardian focus 4, it will bounce between you and her if you solo. It gives random boons to her so it is a bit like the chaos storm lol. Would be funny to see a scepter+torch/staff mesmer solo her. PC MESMER VS AI MESMER

Bonus gold if you don’t chain reflects like a wimp. E.g I don’t see Vevina being particularly challenging on a Guardian.

Also, solo the Butcher from HotW1, I don’t even know how you’d speed clear him in a party setting…

I still hope they delete the dredge fractal. I do like the final boss mechanics but everything else makes me sick.

Also some bosses like GL, not sure if there are others out there, they specifically strip your aegis before certain attacks

I think one thing we can say for sure is this game’s performance doesn’t really correlate with typical hardware benchmarks.

Sometimes I even find that slightly higher settings give me more fps o_O

I can see engineers being excellent alternatives to guardians…. but aegis too stronk

Stop playing on machines from the late 90s. A 3rd gen intel i5 and a GTX 640 GPU will run Tequatl on max settings without breaking a sweat. The problem isn’t the servers or even the engine. It’s YOUR machine.

assuming OP is running a first gen i7 or something (860 or 920 etc) this shows how ridiculously CPU dependent this game is.

oh yeah 5 fps with my C2D is lolz, especially when my GPU load barely changes.

happens a lot to large bosses when your target (the red circles to click on to target the boss) moves off your screen so your game assume you don’t want to fire at it anymore (wtf)

the despawning of clones is a bit of a grey area imo, not that I never used that trick before XD

from my experience he normally keeps clawing away at people harmlessly and then he will pause for a little bit then one shots everyone in range. So if you see it pause a little bit, just dodge. It is difficult to see though especially when you have charr warriors with twilight >_>

yeah he took that into account, he used whatever optimal builds for each case

yeah got the path done, took a while but it wasn’t terrible, especially considering at least 2 people had no exp in arah

10 points in arcana for vigor might be a good idea in pug groups where fights get dragged way long

the only time i had real difficulty finding a group was for arah P4, that took 3 days to find a pug

But in all those videos they exploited the mechanics by dodging grubs

I love the looks and layout of CM, I don’t find it more challenging than other dungeons though, assuming I have the right utilities.

My main is a Guardian and I don’t really play around much with other professions. Guardians are one of the most restricted professions in terms of the weapons available to them. I don’t think it would be a good idea to add the low %age chance of getting a useful weapon to our profession to the already low %age chance of getting the ascended drop in the first place.
I do like to play around with builds – as I’m sure many people do – so if I get an ascended weapon with certain stats, chances are I can find a spot for it somewhere in a build as long as its a key weapon for my professions.

Sword, Shield, Focus, Greatsword, Scepter and Staff are all useful weapons on a guardian (although Shield maybe a bit less). Moreover, you sound like a person who likes to ‘play around with builds’, which means that might mean a Mace build even. Add to that Spear and Trident for underwater.

So that means that you have 9/19 = ~47% chance of a useful Ascended drop.

Which is a lot more than I would say about useful stats.

There is no ring of fire with S/F, but #4 in fire is a fire field, a really small fire field.

Guardian has plenty of weapon choices but it actually only needs four of them to be ascended: greatsword, sword, scepter, and either shield or focus. The other weapons are bad for DPS and you really don’t need to get ascended for them just for the extra 5% damage. The actual stat difference on them is extremely marginal in terms of overall DPS as well.

Compared to most of the other professions, 4 DPS-viable weapons is a lot, but it’s not really excessive. Ascended mats are easy to get anyway other than Dragonite, which is dumb and should be taken out.

I thought hammers have better sustained damage than GS or is that another myth?

well we can always do some tests on fully buffed thief vs ele vs war and pick the one with the highest, thief stealth for trash runs is really good in some dungeons though.

Are there any (decent sized) data for salvage rate with mystic/master and BL kits atm?

LH ele is still better than warriors for might, fury, and dps. Even without FGS my guild group would still run 1G1M1W2E or 1G1W3E (basically fill out the slots with ele when other buffs are covered, generally don’t run ranger because we can get almost 100% crit chance without spotter)

Problem is without FGS, eles simply don’t have any strong elites. My ele is a norn so I can use bear form, but that is still meh.

I think someone from anet commented (in a live stream) that the trail damage from firy rush is unintended.
