Not to mention people are now getting ran over by boulders due to that cut scene.
It is ridiculous how they don’t have a dungeon team anymore but they can spare the manpower to add idiotic things like this.

PVT is okay for you to learn with but eventually you will want to gradually replace your gear with berserker’s because in higher level fotm mobs’ health pools get higher and higher and hit hard enough that tanky stats stop helping you.

random staff for empowered is fine
GS is good for pulling the mobs together, I prefer hammer for group wide protection but that is my personal preference.

As for which build, it depends on who you play with. If you have a static group with an ele who is willing to use lightning hammers than a consecration build will do wonders because they can keep blasting your fire fields.
If pugging you probably want to use more shouts instead, something like:

you don’t need a dps build for that sort of event though? might as well use MF since you are tagging tons of mobs and the zerg is usually large enough to kill everything (not sure about servers with lower populations, but if there is only a small group in the portal I just switch to melee to kill them quickly)

I also don’t understand why the obby shards have to be in that specific temple. Btw I think the reason a lot of people hate doing it is because the whole event chain is really long and one of the last events is easily fallible. And if it fail, oh goodie let’s start all over again.

is dps of PW good again after they shortened the delay between the stun and the hits? I ask because before that change PW’s dps was actually lower than sword auto-attacks since the animations were stupidly lengthy

ha, that reminds me I got suppressed many times doing the gauntly for repeatedly saying “ty” to people who ressed me.

maybe we will get armours and weapons in fractals. I’m guessing each one of them will need 100 components, you can only get a maximum of 1 per day. And you will only be able to do 1 run per day.

Basics to being a good thief in dungeons:
1. use a sword when you are facing multiple targets
2. use daggers on bosses, learn to use backstab and HS properly
3. don’t every 2 second like the typical thief pug
4. use group stealth at the right spot (that means don’t use shadow refuge to heal -_- )
5. when you are downed, if you see someone coming to res you, don’t blink away from them

those with a decent dps build will make you extremely valuable to your group

if you have an abundance of karma, I got quite a lot from orrian boxes. It will cost much more karma but you also get other goodies out of it… as well as useless minipets

When they first existed, they give 100, affected by boosts
This new patch, everything give 50% more than before, so 150, but unaffected by boosts
They now rolled back the change, so back to 100, affected by boosts
Now, the boosts have been buggy recently, sometimes you need to relog for them to work

The extra 8 you are getting is from your achievement bonus

WvW or PVE? also there are too many aoes in this game so tanking for the group isn’t really possible.

I’m not sure about that. When I first started playing the game I actually used to run full MF on my guardian using staff most of the time cos I kept dying when trying to melee (not quite the troll leeching build I made in the guardian forums but pretty close). I never got kicked although come to think of it I really deserved it. I was always friendly though

we all know pugs can be a pain but inflicting this type of suffering on them is bit much

Definitely the scariest thing I’ve seen in any video games.

wut, I watched a guildie trying to solo him over and over again last night and he only kicked people in phase one (usually after every second animation but can be random) as he always has. You either had a buggy lupi or we have different definitions on kicks o_O

the kick in phase 1 has about half a second for you to react. The wind up is really subtle as well. Use aegis just in case you miss the dodge. In phase 2 I dodge as soon as he raises his right arm, that has always worked. I don’t recommended using aegis on that because you will still get the bleed stacks even if you block it. There is no melee attack in phase 3 except for the aoe lifesteal and frenzied blast.

And if you’re good enough with blocks you can circumvent the need for stability at least 50% of the time. Those other 50% though, you’re playing with chance. I’m not saying the spirit weapon build works fine, because it doesn’t at all, but it can still be fun and semi-viable in the hands of a very skilled player.
