Just to nip it in the bud… I just scored two yaks on the road outside Foghaven, and one of your guardians (level 48) partied me. Never said anything. Weirdness.

You can get a lot of mileage out of Hide in Shadows, Steal, Shadowstep, Shadow Refuge, and Blinding Powder on top of Cloak & Dagger. Those Uncatchable caltrops really help take out dolyaks. ^^

And yeah, I’m not even going to actually attack Foghaven when that many of you come at me that fast. Heeee!

Dragonbrand, I’m not sure how I feel about them. They try. My opinion, from what I’ve seen, their players must have the lowest average skill out of any server I can remember in WvW.

On the other hand, they seem rather fearless. But it’s like being gummed to death by pack of elderly chihuahuas.

Just saying. Whee. Let’s keep this match up going.

I’ve used them for cover. I’ve used them as preemptive insurance to get myself up from downed. I’ve used them with Steal for the shadowstep to get me out of trouble. I get loot off them. Critters also give me Fleet Shadow when I C&D them. They don’t disrupt me at all, being just another tool to use if you know how.

How about the context of GvG being meaningless as far as getting points for your world?

Is everyone else going to stand by and let the guilds go at it? Why would either even be fighting on open ground? And if it’s at a keep or Stonemist, what, the loser is just going to pack up and leave town like it’s some kind of elimination match rawr wrestling show style?

Tower scouting (even across maps) is one of the big ingredients to TC’s success. Their commanders seem very responsive to any calls of 20+ inc or siege being built. The server on the whole is also far better than we are on defense in general…

I’m fairly annoyed at TC and KN at times. I go mess with a supply camp and the next thing I know I’m doing the runny screamy stealthy poof thing trying to get away from 10+ folks. Grr. All that.

I’m usually too busy failing early and getting into stealth to start over, but elsewhere on the board I’ve seen:

Dodge the initial attack from the phantasm and kill it, then get on the mesmer.
The mesmer usually has negligible damage compared to the phantasm.

Maybe next time I’ll keep my cool long and get to try this out. ^^

Evade thief worked well for me the few times I ran the orb with it. Traited for vigor on heals, use Withdraw, Sigil of Energy, Roll for Initiative; you can roll roll roll a lot.

But there are build sacrifices to make for that mobility.

The waypoint is a shortcut. Just hike it. It’s not like you really have farther to go than everyone else. Stop dying. Post guards, use scouts. Pay attention. It’s a convenience, not a right.

If they can put something like “Outmanned” in, I’d like to hope they can make it so that if it’s your home map you have to defend the orb or the attacking teams get a buff. Something like that.

It’s hard for mesmers to laugh. They need to focus on breathing so they can keep dodging, moving, and casting. You mess up the rhythm of breath, and it does not feel the happy.

Try it. Run a mile and then cackle for no reason without breaking stride. You’ll feel the effects and it takes awhile to recover. And that’s before the police tackle you for disturbing the peace.

Nice job, TC, getting all comebacky no give uppy midweek after being behind.
