I respectfully, ok as respectful as I ever get since I hate being all serious like, disagree because there are no valid concerns.

Zerg balls. Tactics. 2 on 1s. Transfers. Moving up or down Tiers. Time coverage. WvW/PvP vs the PvE pops on the servers. These are not valid concerns. These are, my opinion, excuses used by a very vocal minority on the forum. So what?

So what? Play! Try! Accept the results. What happens will happen. Seriously, spank your inner moppet or whatever your ego needs, preferably in private, and just play.

Did an entire generation of players never learn to enjoy competition? I don’t remember all this “hax, cheats, glitches, how can we skip this, this isn’t fair, this isn’t balanced, why is this in the game” talk 10 years ago. Sometimes you make mistakes, sometimes you flat out lose, and badly at that. Learn, improve, and move on.

Wishing you all raindrops on roses or napalm on charr, whichever you prefer. I’m going back to silly.

Bleeding, poison AND burning? Don’t you think that would be a tad excessive?

Every single thief would go condition damage and stealth while people blew their cleanses. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some fire. And poison. And bleeding. As long as it’s not me. But yeah, there’s probably a balance reason why this didn’t happen before now.

I’d enjoy our brief time in T1. We can be all “look we made it to T1”. Briefly. Or maybe it will inspire us to spiffyness! And we’d stay there! And then you’d be all sad panda since we weren’t around.

Reflect is not the happy when you’re P/D. I usually swap my hands to D/P just for that one.

There’s a lot of good advice above this. Below is my super conservative build, it’ll keep you alive through a lot and is very forgiving of mistakes.

WvW P/D & SB I run 0/0/30/20/20 in full Carrion armor and trinkets (getting the Ascended trink stuff with Toughness/CondiDmg). 3 Krait/3 Afflicted runes. Sigil of Corruption/Agony on the P/D. Use whatever you like on the SB.

Traits:
Shadow’s Embrace, Infusion of Shadow, Shadow’s Rejuvenation
Fleet Shadow, Power of Inertia
Uncatchable, Bountiful Theft
Skills:
Hidden in Shadows, Shadowstep, Shadow Refuge, Blinding Powder, Thieves Guild

I’ll take out Blinding Powder > Caltrops and Thieves Guild > Daggerstorm when I’m hitting an unupgraded camp alone.

The dodges give you might and mini-caltrop, so you can use the dodge offensively to get a cripple on people and more bleeds is always good. Remember, uncatchable pops the freebie caltrops centered on where you start the dodge, so to use em on someone you have to be close to ON someone. Thanks goodness there’s a marker on the ground you can see now.

The runes plus the +36% CondiDuration pizza (super veggie) gets you past the 75% mark for another bleed tick on your pistol skills. WvW I wouldn’t shoot for 100% with the 25 stack cap, but opt for the lil more punch to your bleeds instead. Use Quality Tuning Crystals for extra CondiDmg, they’re easy affordable.

Stealth clears a condition (or two if you stay in for 3 seconds) and will regen you over 300 health a second. I’ve always found the speed buff to be great since I don’t use Signet of Shadows unless I know I’m going to be on the move long term with a zerg. Even then, I’ll switch it out for something else when I get where I’m going.

P/D, you will stealth A LOT.

Never forget Steal is a shadowstep that comes with an item. The gap closer is the main thing I use it for. That and messing with people’s heads. Bountiful Theft will give you Vigor and a boon strip/steal/share. More dodging is good. In a pinch, you can use it to Steal someone, or a critter, away from you to make distance.

Learn to dance on the outskirts of Shadow Refuge, people will AoE and all kinds of things to blow you out of it. Be ready to dodge inside the area once, or twice, on occasion.

You CAN use Choking Gas (shortbow) freely, or use the real Caltrops skill, while stealthed without being revealed. That’s fun to do to a large group to annoy them. Throw Gunk (from Stealing) will reveal you each pulse of the gunk. NEVER use it if you think you’ll need to get back into stealth quickly.

With this set up, you can also use your stealth stuffs to try to stomp people or hide yours while you revive them. There will be builds out there that you almost never beat head on, but you shouldn’t get tore up unless you make a mistake or two or more.

Shadowstep is your stunbreaker/panic move. Also super emergency CondiCleanse. It can be used for mobility too, but that’s what the shortbow is for. Ok, shortbow for the Shadow Shot and Cluster Bomb (blast finisher spam good). You’ll end up using Cluster Bomb a lot defending towers because you can angle it over from the top of walls. And attacking towers, Cluster Bomb will hurt people on the walls with the blast through the walls.

I also drop Blinding Powder for Caltrops, Scorpion Wire, or Ambush Trap as the situation and mood strikes me.

Experiment with things, you’ll figure out what works best for you.

I was new to the game when I did it, so I sorta ended up doing it by the “brute force” method. That means quite a lot of running back.

I like to imagine now that I’m more experienced I’d be able to get it in one go now. Just like my necro hasn’t been downed nearly as many times leveling or story missioning.

Live and learn. Die and learn faster.

My opinion is that we’re just seeing each server blossom with the right combo of passion, drive, and cookies. That’s followed by some wilting for raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens time until they recharge for the next reset.

He who parties hardest hits the floor first. Which is hilarious for everyone else watching. Kinda like puke n’ rally. Without the puke. Yay.

I like Trahearne. He’s very him. He just took a roundabout way of getting to his Wyld Hunt. Ok, our Story just about had to drag him kicking and screaming into finishing his Wyld Hunt.

We were the driving force behind that. Yep. That and a very large undead monster dragon beastie who wanted to kill everybody. Very driving. Very behind me in that running screaming way.

It ended well.

I like that “unusable by your profession”.

The list of professions that would use that gear must be a very short.

That’s not exactly what I thought when I saw the line of ballistas TC put at the FA entry to TC BL last week.

That was more “Whaaaa?” (many bolts whiz by) “AAAAAH!”

It’s not so bad once you get used to it. Practice. Well, ok, try not to practice, but totally practice when you get the chance to. But really, try to use the rest of your stuff to avoid getting to practice. That would be best.

3 got a big hit with the patch that made mobs remember you once you come out of stealth. Your issues with 2 sound like you just need more time with it.

1 should one shot every enemy it bounces to. It’s in the 1 slot, so it should be The One.

Thoughts:

1. Their stomachs have to fit in that torso, so I can’t imagine they eat big meals. I see Krewe Bars are sold in Lion’s Arch. I swear there was some kinda Pellet food on an NPC somewhere too. Maybe they have something like lembas bread that doesn’t choke Gollum.

4. I bet they figured out how to make lights underground very early, by magic or tech.

I’m good in small pieces, like cookies. Every now and then, I go stupid and/or ill-tempered.

It’s World v World. That implies a lot of people. Sure you can break off and go exploring, but remember the old rule from pen and paper RPG’s “don’t break up the party”.

It’s like the old argument about PvP in World of Warcraft. I always came back with “We’re called the Horde and the Alliance for a reason.” It’s not Bob and the Boys.

When I ran sPvP (hot-joins) with the double D/D evade set up, I traited 0/0/10/30/30 with Shadow’s Embrace from Shadow Arts for the condition removal. It wasn’t something to rely on due to the initiative cost, but it was great to have when you really needed it.

Isn’t that what boot camp was for?

Look at it this way, when you do get the title, you will be ULTIMATE!

I have no experience with warriors and banners, but I do want to offer you kudos for trying. I think it’s great you had a friend willing to try this with you. It’s overlooked, but this is a team game, so any real coordination makes your team a lot tougher.

I just wish they’d let you tweak what you could put on the banner. Actually, having tag flashbacks to some FPS games, giving people the ability to customize banners wouldn’t be such a great idea. But we can dream…

I asked the krait how come they never leave the lake and try to take over the garrisons. They said they would but there’s no pool.

We should all go the route of play and have fun without worrying about moving up or down. If it happens, it happens. But play and have fun, that should happen if anything does happen. Happen is like 4/5th of happy but with 2 extra letters.

I think it’s enough that they get people to follow them, or stay far far away from them, depending on whose name appears on the map.

What I want to know is if it still burns the initiative for the C&D on the block. I noticed the block thing this weekend and was sorta already running, screaming, and on fire so I missed that one teenie detail. Someone help me out.
