Can we blame a leapy spinny rolly dizzy unicorn thief for this?

I let myself fall for the propaganja and have been hanging out in TC BL for the last few days. I’ve even taken to plinking TC people when I have a choice between them and the Kaineng folk.

Am I supposed to call them KN? That’s a LOT nicer than some of the names I’ve fumbled upon them recently. Is it Kai-neng or Kain-eng anyway?

Maybe it was me not having the proper mindset. I wanted to try this in WvW too, but meh, can’t seem to convince myself it would be viable ish. I’ll tweek my head around it in sPvP some more first.

You know, this is the Thief forum, so maybe they’re being all stealthy, because once they strike they’ll have to stay revealed for that extra second.

I don’t think these are the servers you are looking for (jedi wave). You don’t need to see our Tier identification, because none of us are TRYING to stay Tier 2 (jedi headscratch). Move along (jedi gesture).

If people dont stand in caltrops, kite you, have multiple condition cleanses and dodge your lbd, your damage output is close to 0. You’ll have to stay out of team fights.

That was my problem with the build. I found myself doing more point neutralizing and sometime capping than fighting.

I kept telling myself to try to get into team fights, right? If they’re trying to hit you and missing, then your teammates can unload on them. If they ignore you, then you just do your bleeding thing with some dagger auto thrown in. But for hot-join I never really saw that happen.

But it was FUN! Roll! Leap! Twirl! Dizzy… barf. Whee… fun… (falls over)

Overlooked in the Support category is Cluster Bomb, a combo blast finisher we can spam. Fire > Might rawr rawr rawr rawr rawr!

We’re also great with the POOF-revive with blinding power and shadow refuge. Or stealth and revive, not so great for the guy hoping we save them, but great for me while I’m trying to revive.

I don’t think we’re all that OP. Every class is OP in its own way. I hope. I’ll get around to trying them all out eventually. We can set up high risk/high crit or stealthy safe and sorta in between. Mostly we’re gonna live longer than you do, one way or another.

Bumping revealed even longer would make it fluid like the other ‘kat said, but yikes even longer out of regen and fewer might stacks, owie. That’s ok, I hope they pass.

I was using a single Sigil of Energy in each D/D pair in sPvP last week. I only got 50% energy from a weapon swap. I didn’t try to put a SigE in both daggers because I thought the inner cooldown would block one.

I have to wait 6 hours to check myself.

Does that make Kaineng a good thing or a bad thing? I’m having trouble figuring that out, but they’ve been the green guys for a few weeks now, right.

On one hand, P/D condition builds seem to be completely unaffected by the patch.

I flub getting into C&D stealth with the longer reveal every now and then, but mostly yeah, unaffected.

Try it in WvW. You find both dummies and mobs, often in the same place and target. (grin)

Start the C&D and then hit steal while the cast/channel bar is filling. Steal will shadowstep you to the target and then C&D finishes casting and swings the dagger.

If you wait too long, you whiff on air, lose 6 initiative, and then shadowstep to the target who will most likely be amused. Or angry. Possibly both.

Is “mega zerg balls” balls balls or balls ballista? TC whipped out like 20 of them in a line Sunday. It was shocking to see that many woody shafts aimed at us.

The fun of PvP is all I need. Everything else is a cherry on top of the tear-flavored frosting on the cupcake of win.

When I think about it, I guess the sylvari are more or less born with their “accents” from the Dream. They’re not learning how to speak the entire language as they’re growing up, right? Maybe some refinement and practice, but they’re mostly stuck with what they started with.

It might be like learning how to say “good morning” in West Virginia and “where’s the car” in Boston while agreeing with people in Valley Girl.

What is the female sylvari saying at low health? It sounds like “Need a…”?

That was awesome and moving when I saw the super line of ballista in by Redbriar in TC BL a few hours ago. Awesome like it made me say aw. Moving as in I then went far away from it.

Mass defense, wowwie. I hope I see it more often from people who aren’t trying to knock me out.

It doesn’t suck that bad. It just makes things take longer.

Not a problem as a loner, problem if you’re in an impatient party.

Stealth’s problem is less about being overpowered than it is being easier for a thief’s victim to blame besides how they handled the situation.

It is Trail of Knives. You’re throwing a 3-bounces knife with a 1-sec cripple on it. It usually leads to a trail of tears one way or another. It’s what you got for damage while down on land. In theory the cripple might slow them down enough for you to get to use shadowstep, er, shadowlurch, whatever skill and then the smokey poofy thing and pray someone comes along to help, or die, something.

But mostly it’s your damage knifey thing. No one is throwing your internal organs. At least until after you’re done with them. Yar.

Steal never applied venoms unless you were traited to Mug. It’s the damage attack from Mug that does it.

Actually, I’m sure about Steal not doing it. I’ve never used Steal w/ Mug to apply a venom. Hrm. I expect it to try to pop a venom as an attack.

And I’m glad they changed it, cuz I was trying to do the PvP daily and the PvE daily every night in a limited time span. Now I can get a laurel either way that’s a bonus. But I’m still trying to do both. Yay.

I’m a thief so I’m biased but I think Thief is the way to go for roaming alone or with a few people, mostly alone. Stealth is almost a get out of fail free card once you learn the ins and outs of it; get in it to get out of it or to get back into it. You can either go Survival or Burst around the stealth thing, depending on your build, gear, and preference.

Those Elementalists seem to have better straight line zippy zappy tho. It seems to me they have more rawr zappy kaboom in a fight too. But I don’t know my EleFu, so meh.

Just chiming in on the P/D WvW Condition build. Not noticing any real difference in style or effectiveness.

I used to solo non-upgraded supply camps with caltrops, shortbow poison from shadow refuge, and daggerstorm. Haven’t tried yet, but I imagine it would take slightly longer with the caltrops duration change.

I started way late, but was under the impression that early versions did not need the enemy and proved to be somewhat unbalancing.

What is this selling thing? I love the excitement of seeing what color is in the bottle. Squee!

No way, I was all comfy with how it was. I’d have to learn a new way of doing things either way. Change baaad.

That would have been interesting to see. ZOMG moar stealth! Wouldn’t that mess up their attack chains too? More attack or more stealth, decisions decisions. ;p

Body Shot comes in if your party is at or near the 25 bleed stack limit, it may be better for you to start mixing in Body Shot to get the slight party-wide damage boost instead. Maybe some use at max initiative just to cook some off. Also, it is a Projectile Finisher 100% for only 3 init.

Then again, if the bleed stack cap is an issue, you might be better off going to your other weapon set. Shortbow, blast finisher powah!

All the benefits from that line – might stacking, initiative regen, health regen, condition removal, etc. – came from stealthing as often as possible.

You can still stealth as often as possible…

None of this sounds like a big deal to me.

But I love the no autoattack after Steal now! If it really works. That “stealth” on steal trait never worked with the autoattacking thing before unless you had auto-attacks shut off.

And bigger Uncatchable whee!
