I don’t see what’s so bad about the hammer. Even if it takes more supplies for full repair than to build, at least we won’t be seeing low health sieges that’s just sitting there taking up space being absolutely useless.

It doesn’t take more supply to repair than it does to build a new siege unless you repair it multiple times over a long period of time, otherwise the repair would be pointless, just build another of the siege next to it.

10 supply repairs 20% on an alpha golem, that’s 50 supply to take it from 1-100%, that’s half the supply cost of a new one.

The schedule is, unfortunately, really unreliable, and seems to contains ome weird random elements. For example (based on device readings, and reports from other players), the evening schedule yesterday at EU was thus:*

- Moa/Devo
- Arcto/Shark
- break (yes, that’s no mistake)
- Wyvern (for 1 hour)
- break again

And that last break lasted only ~15 minutes (at least ten, according to the device. Was semi-afk for the remaining 5 and not checking, but from the map chat other people reported break as well aven in that time), before suddenly, with no warning, Moa spawned. Moa died really fast, by the way (by the time i arived from where i was standing, which was closer than the closest wp, it was already at 50% hp), so people that weren’t already nearby and checking situation had no chance at all.

(from the description seems to have been the same instance Xenesis was on)

That’s really bad design.

Heh I went to hunt for shark again late last night before I went to bed, I got into a blood creature hunting squad and into frostgorge at least 20 mins before to make sure no funny business happened again.

Again at the top of the hour after moa/devourer phase I waited 10 mins checking the scanner for the next phase, nothing was showing on scanner, then at 10 after the hour arc/shark showed on the scanner, went shark hunting, popped him with a few shark kills and notified the squad. He popped up in the underwater tunnel in the middle of the map which took us a minute to figure out how to get there but gave the whole squad enough time to arrive.

Not really much point in having an hour long spawn phase when they are killed within a couple mins of the phase flip and only once per map. Why did I experience a 10 min delay twice? The break periods don’t seem to be consistent either. Which would also explain why I’ve seen moa spawn at the top and bottom of the hour, if it was indeed a 3 hour cycle they should be spawning consistently at the top or bottom of the hour, but extra breaks shoehorned in there would break that up.

The tracker was poorly implemented.

What astounds me is people who finished the events in a few hours then come in here and tell people “why you all in such a rush! you have weeks to do it!” If you went through the event and had no problem then good for you, congrats on your glowy eyes. But just because you didn’t run into problems with the event doesn’t there isn’t any problems, or people wouldn’t come to the forums to express their “saltiness” over it. Oh and the saltiness already got a positive change done.

  • Current Events: Levvi’s Device has been updated to indicate when a legendary bloodstone-crazed creature has recently been killed in the map.

Wow… wyvern was up for an hour, from 5-6. 6 rolls around and nothing on the scanner for 10 mins figured it was on that 30 min break… get up to get a drink and moa spawns, dead by the time I get back.

Whelp just missed shark for the 2nd time… first time I waited 30mins on a map that had already killed it. Next time I waited 20 mins on one map into the spawn time, didn’t spawn there, a map where 3 commanders were waiting since the last spawn to get it. Then lfg started lighting up so I jumped 3 times to maps and all dead before I loaded in.

Oh uh thanks for loading me into the map instances where my squad wasn’t, so then having to load again to join the map my squad was in, all, three, times. gg. Meanwhile moa spawns in the first minute, which I missed as well cause well washroom break at the wrong time.

Also why not put the legendary spawns in their own 30 min windows? instead of 2 per hour, I know it was designed that way to try and delay it a little, maybe you get moa but you miss devourer, but that seems like a good way to aggravate players instead. Now players have to wait around in a zone to make sure they can get the mob.

Remove the repair hammers along with arrow carts (which are still broken – firing from 3rd floor SMC w/o line of sight?), shield Gens and tactivators.

This will partially go along way to help WvW. Then nerf the amount of boons and condi’s, in other words get rid of the Pirate ship meta.

More like the Abrams tank meta.

Just tested repairing an alpha golem, 20% repair for every 10 supply, can repair up to full, have to be out of the golem to repair.

Siege Repair Hammers are now in beta!
Siege Repair Hammers are a new consumable that may be purchased from the Tricks and Traps vendor. They allow players to repair all siege weapons as long as they have supply, and the hammers work with the Repair Master ability line.

We will be looking for feedback on the repair hammers on our forums and will be holding a follow-up poll to determine if they should become a permanent feature of the game.
In the event that repair hammers are officially added, the following changes would be made:

  • A new pip would be added to the Repair Master ability line that would allow players to purchase repair hammers.
  • Badges of honor would be added to the cost of the repair hammer.

They’re here, lets get the feedback in. They’re sold on the traps and tricks vendor for 4s96c.

Personally don’t think they should be in the game, or if they are they would need heavy restrictions. I don’t know what restrictions have been placed on them if any, but I’ll try to test it shortly, in the meantime my original thoughts about restrictions.

  • A player should only be able to use a hammer once to repair a siege item
  • Once it’s been repaired it can no longer be repaired again by anyone else, whether or not they were carrying and used 1 or 25 supply.
  • Or perhaps only a certain maximum percentage can be repaired, such as up to 25% of it’s maximum health and that’s it until it’s destroyed.
  • Or they are only usable on structure siege, not player made siege.

I really don’t want to see an entire zerg feeding supplies to keep a bunch of omegas up in a battle.

Also the blending wood/stone walls I guess are fixed, with a performance boost?

Tier4 what is the solution?

1) would produce stagnant matches, which are as bad as blowouts. Because it’ll never be balanced and someone will end up in a bad stagnant match.

There are stagnant matches anyways, and people complain anyways. But at least stagnant matches keep players playing rather than blowouts which drives away players for weeks at a time. At least a new match players can get excited about fighting someone else for a change.

2) might be a solution. Part of the problem is the top servers are so populated that you can’t create 12 servers that are relatively balanced, no matter how many servers you link. So splitting it into T1/2 and T3/4 may work.

Yeah basically the best thing to do now would might be a rotation of 6 servers on top and 6 on the bottom. It’s still open for choices, if you want more population and coverage then jump to the top 6, if you enjoy more havoc, roaming, don’t mind less coverage then hop down to the bottom servers. Just like the old gold silver bronze leagues. Instead of having to juggle 4 tiers of different population levels, try and cut it down to 2 sets of tiers. Coverage of course will throw a wrench in this unless the new skirmish changes help.

3) soft Glicko reset may be worth trying. It’ll produce crazy imbalanced matches but at least there will be variety. I think you’d need to pair it with some form of 1U1D to quickly get better matches.

A reset like this, rank 1-3 or t1=2000, t2=1900, t3=1800, t4=1700, basically where they’re at now except you’re closing up the gap between t3 and t4. There’s no reason to “wait” and have glicko straighten itself out every new link, especially when there’s such a big gap, even with CD steamrolling t4 this rotation they probably would not have reached t3 on their own, unless a t3 server fell pretty hard. I’m still in favor of 1u1d as well.

4) a hard merge will work no better than linkings. In fact it would be worse. Because even if you could get perfect merges, in a month you’d have massive imbalance all over again – with no recourse for correction.

There’s going to be imbalances no matter what because of open transfers and players and guilds moving wherever they want, you won’t be able to stop it unless you stop transfers or close servers. I’m all for links, if they do them properly. I don’t know if that 4 link was an experiment or what, but I hope the next links will be better balanced.

Fix unlimited boons ASAP

There used to be a balance to boons via corrupt boons. But then Anet in its infinite wisdom introduced resistance. That threw everything off balance.

Yes there use to be a balance until they redid the traits last year along with the elite specs and introduced a lot more passive boons and conditions. Then coupled with revenants, more boon sharing from eles, new runes like durability, and better stats combos with boon duration, boons have a greater up time and reapplication than it ever did, which in a way it was needed to combat the increase of conditions since the changes to make them more viable.

So resistance was also introduced to combat conditions, I’m not sure 100% resistance was a good idea, but given that boon is harder to access than protection, maybe that’s why they thought it needed to be that high, especially for solo or small group fights which usually have more trouble with conditions.

Meanwhile corruption or removal of boons has stayed about the same, a couple changes were added to necros. Given today’s state of combat you might as well be asking all your necros to load up boon corruption because there isn’t any better classes to do so.

Anet started a stew, added lots of conditions, added some boons, added some resistance, added some durability, added some 50% duration, added some signet sharing, now we got a pot full of rainbow kitten condi and boons. They just keep adding to balance the pot flavor instead of actually balancing what’s already in there, add some kitten water already.

Tier4 what is the solution?

Not to screw up the t4 server links next time maybe.

They placed a t3 linking in t4 which forced them to mess with glicko to get the monster out of t4…. only to be replaced with another t3 monster in t4. t4 has been a mess now for almost 4 months.

Either

  • Do the server links properly for those servers within their tiers. In other words make sure there’s 3 t4 sized servers in t4, 3 t3 servers in t3 and so on.
  • Make the population of servers relatively closer to the tier next to them t1/2, t3/4 closer to each other. Instead of giving t3 servers fatter servers as links, use the smaller ones to bring them closer to t4 sizes. (for example instead of sbi/hod, maybe sbi/ehmry would have been better?)
  • Fix the glicko wall with a soft glicko reset.
  • If you can’t get links working properly, then do the hard merge and get it over with, let players sort out the bandwagons afterwards.

Say one group has 20 people and the other has a queue the kills made by the group of 20 should be worth more than the kills by the map queue.

That’s where the outmanned buff “should” play a better role.

But I don’t think op is saying a tick will happen for every kill, so no need to calculate that. All they’re saying is that if no one is killed, you don’t get the tick.

A scoring where System where for example (These numbers might not be balanced.)

a camp gives 1points per tick,
a Tower give 2 Points per tick,
a Keep give 5 Points per tick
Stonemist Castle gives 10 Points per tick.

But a tick only happens when your Team kills an enemy Player.

Obviously less ticks in the off hours because less kills, but there’s more than enough ticks happening during prime time NA.

There’s already points per kill in the game, and points per capture were just added as well. All they need to do now is turn off points per tick (but obviously keep it running for reward track ticks). Running up the score problem solved, then with time slice the skirmish hours will be a scoring competition between the 3 sides contained to every hour.

I think op is saying that there would be no tick unless someone was killed since the last tick. Its a way to combat PvD and “capping while there are no opponents”.

The only thing is I’m not sure how much time goes by without anyone getting killed. Does that happen? Even during “off hours”?

Yeah and in prime time zerg vs zerg, how many do you think would get killed in even an hour? probably more ticks in that hour alone than a full regular match at 5min ticks.

Did you even look up how many kills happen per hour in a typical match?
End score would be in the millions.

The easier way of doing this is to just add more points per kill, no need to add the tick, think that would just make the hamsters in the anet servers explode.

Is it worth coming back?

If you have the time to play then yes it’s worth coming back. There would be a ton of content for you even if you don’t buy the expansion so why not?

Most newer and more intense content de facto demands the new classes. Raiding as “core” classes will be significantly more difficult for example.

Raiding is only available to HoT clients anyways, which have access to the new specs. They only played the game a few hours back at release, the core game has a lot of content for the OP to do. Not necessary for them to buy the expansion until they play and feel they will stick with the game.

OP, it’s free to play, just reinstall and play again.

GW2 didn’t even get it’s account restoration tool added until a few months into the game, no second level security either during that time. The accounts that got hacked during that time were SoL, including one of my friends who lost a lot of the first set of halloween skins.

It’s simple, they want boon classes for sustain, and they want aoe damage classes to do most of the damage bombs, the group with the best corruption and aoes wins. All the light aoe light boon single target classes are being left in the cold, they’re not being taken even if there’s space in the squad, no one even cares about pick teams anymore.

Half the classes are being told to reroll or get out.

tier 1 squads rarely run at the max limit of 50, even when fully open to all players on the map. A lot of guild groups will run closed either being a guild run, or when open you need to joins ts first. I think a lot of players are getting the jiff that they are not wanted in squads because of their class so they don’t bother joining, most commanders just what the boon sharing and aoe damage classes.

So ya, keep your Revs etc and have fun with them.. I have one of everything, and two of a few… the most fun I have is with my nasty Ranger. It’s all good I guess… doing stuff alone in this game is not a new thing regardless of how many people are around. But still… being rejected for a given class by people who obviously will never agree with how good a Ranger really can be… well.. meh.

Doesn’t matter to me, I’m more for balance, play what you want to play, and having every class useful and not excluded in group play, well, other than thieves cheesy venom share XD
Enjoying my druid quite a lot lately, most times I don’t bother joining a squad.

I don’t really get your “get your people in line” comment. The only thing players can do is report hackers. Dealing with them is up to ArenaNet.

Would you tolerate people in your guild hacking? We wouldn’t. Hence.

So what exactly would you do? Not like servers have any control over the individuals that play on them. Report them and move on, don’t blame the server for those idiots.

Golem week wouldn’t have been too bad if the bugs/exploits weren’t present, or fixed on the first couple hours or even first day it was done. But you know anet, last minute friday release, left to itself for the weekend, by monday it was a clusterf and no dev replied for the entire week. It was turned off and left to be swept under the rug. I mean we even had maguuma players enjoying the exploits and bragging about it on the forums and nothing was done. /shrug

Only if for the next match power does no damage.

I would try it but I don’t think it is functionally possible to completely eliminate direct damage as that is a trigger. Would be an interesting match if everyone had a permanent 80% direct damage reduction though.

Then you do know what i’m talking about.If you ever tried havoc with 3 – 4 trying to ninja a t3 tower Pre-watchtower etc,people would react on a contested tower,now they simply react because they already see 3 dots forever going around.Theres no sense in it at all,they completely destroyed this for havoc.

Yeah they did, my group use to bust t3 keeps and towers all the time to try and keep pressure off our hombl. Also the nerf to guild catas hurt. Too many restrictions now, so havoc is limited to taking camps and towers if they don’t have watchtower on them, which is mostly the south towers on bls. The yaks don’t bother me as much just flip the camp.

Which is why I just shrug, and follow the zerg the few hours I spend in wvw these days, while my guild’s fully upgraded and decorated guildhall rots away.

As for your crashes are you using the 32bit client still?
Try the 64bit one if you haven’t/can.

I’m sure you’ve also checked https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Crashing/first not much solutions yet, but maybe give them a report of the crashes if it hasn’t been reported in there yet, hopefully they can figure it out. Good luck.

You’re right I mostly zerg these days cause there ain’t much else for me to do these days. I spent 2 years playing the havoc/roaming game thanks. I know the damage that stupid expansion and it’s guild upgrades did to small guilds like my own.

It’s not going to change, they’re not going to take them out, so I’m not even going to bother trying to complain, all I can do is shrug my shoulders, mourn my now broken guild, and move on.

They are shooting for an end of august release of the desert map back into rotation with alpine.

Ranks are meaningless, they’re basically the rank of server populations/coverage, glicko and ranks are only there to determine which servers you fight that are around your own server level.

Meh, reset is at 10pm est, the only time zone that 4 hours would really benefit is pst primetime.
A 24 hour tournament after reset would be more reasonable in any case to include the entire server and time zones.

They can’t balance it because they always go overboard with fixes one side to the other, always. They’re not willing to do a minor fix to see if it works for a week, no no, because they use to take 6-12 months and now 3-4 months to bother checking balance(only because of spvp esports), so they end up making 3 or 4 changes at the same time that fudges things up too much.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up nerfing mesmer signet, revenant boon bonus, hard cap boon timers, make durability runes only affect the wearer, nerf some traits, dump some more boon strips on necros(every staff skill strips a boon!), all at the same time. When all they would need to do is cap timers on boons, and maybe give some better boon strip options to other classes.

But whatever it’s a mess, they’ve already gone down too far on this condi vs boon combat road.

Have had 5 friends that had to deal with bad customer service for this game, not exactly shocking or surprising to hear about this. Guess there’s a post cause it happened to an employee, wonder how many other similar cases have happened because a customer rep slipped up before this, how many of those cases fell through the cracks.

The way you’re saying it, you’re making it sound like TC broke even. TC was already stacked when the alliance arrived and the numbers the alliance brought significantly outweighed the number of people that left because of them.

And you’re making it sound like the same thing didn’t happen to DB, face it, they both got stacked to t1 levels. You forget the TC groups that had moved actually went to DB? Plus they gained players and guilds since being open for a few weeks through the links. TC had lost players already before the alliance arrived, when they were forced to t2 by YB which had been caused by the alliance stacking YB.

TC had stacked their way to T1 and outnumbered pretty much everyone along the way.

Outnumbered pretty much everyone along what way? back to t1? where they were outnumbered by BG?

Players had spread out from TC while they were in t2 before the alliance, go look back at the match history, they weren’t blowing out t2 other than a couple of weird weeks, they had a lot of close matches with DB, and DB won quite a few of them.

Population wise they may be similar now, but we won’t know for sure until ioj gets unlinked to see how many actually paid 500gems instead of 1800gems, coverage wise db has more, ppt wise db is doing more. Coverage will always win, that’s been established since day one.

What? TC got back into T1 on the back of the kittenters alliance moving there ie stacking before links came in.

What did you think I meant with guilds moved around? they moved in and some guilds left. Even then it took TC more than another month after the link to even get back into t1.

TC had stacked their way to T1 and outnumbered pretty much everyone along the way. And then, while not linked, it was left open for transfers after the new linkings. Population isn’t it’s disadvantage.

DB is winning because it is playing to win – havoking, protecting its thirds, and maximizing the principles of mass, maneuver and economy of force.

Even if it’s cheap to transfer to a low tier server just to be linked to a winner, isn’t it true that the linked server changes? So one week you could be paired with DB, and another week it could be Maguuma? I never fully understood the server link system since I’m on TC.

Relinks happen every 2 months, not every week.

DB+IoJ have gotten a few transfers in since being in t2, I know of some that moved to IoJ just to play on DB because it’s cheaper, and well transfers were closed to BG(open now btw) and TC(although they were only open for a week).

The next relink IoJ could end up anywhere depending on how big they have grown. Eredon terrace was with BG the first link, and then got sent into the 4 server link in t4.

They were still in t1 at the time of the last link, they were opened for transfers and players chose to leave than transfer there. Relinks don’t happen for 2 months, so gonna have to ride it out a couple more weeks.

As for server anet doesn’t like.. darkhaven has the claim on that, being dead last in rankings for 3 months now.

Lots of other servers have died and fallen down the ranks and never had the option of links to help them.

YB was open for transfers in t1 and no one wanted to go there, most likely because of the reputation built on YB, or they didn’t bother to actively recruit like say JQ had when they took a tumble.

They have a schedule for the relinks and they’re sticking to it. YB players either wait till the next relink in a few weeks or jump ship if they really want to be back in t1 so badly.

Who the hell runs around wvw as a minionmancer?

I don’t know them, but I see one every once in a while.

Not counting Minionmancer nights, which several guilds I’ve belonged to have done…

Probably pve people just running around, wvw necros have more important skills to be carrying around these days than poison bombing with pets.

Yeah done the minionmancer raids too, about the most fun class to do a class raid with.
