Well reading both ideas they’re both separate. Zudo’s idea is like a separate battleground much like WoW’s Strand of the ancients battleground, where the attacking side is blasting through fortified areas to get to the end and get the relic(or in this case 3 castles), the defenders hold out for as long as they can, teams then switch do it again for round 2, and the team with the fastest attack time wins.

Joneirikb’s idea is basically ebg which already has 3 sides pushing on each other from separate fronts (Warcraft3 AoS maps), closing off areas so that attackers have to go through the tower areas to get access to the next area, (btw desert bl was designed with that in mind, remember the walls and barricades that were removed as per player request?).

You could also achieve that progression with a lattice system instead (something Planetside had), where you had to capture A in order to go after B, which created focused hot spots for the next defense/attack. Planetside bases also had bonuses attached to them, which gave the attackers purpose to go after them when no scoring was present in the game. Also had no need to put up walls everywhere other than around bases, something I sometimes think anet should do for towers in wvw.

Anyways.. Now look at the time it takes for them to create new maps.
How much time it’s taking for them to create the new scoring system.
How much time would be needed to physically change ebg.

Realistically this isn’t something that can be done soon™, and yes either way it does require a lot of work. I do hope battlegrounds type play can be implemented at some point though, would be a good in between the current spvp 5v5 arena fights and wvw zerg fights. The only problem adding more modes like that is it will take players away from spvp and wvw.

I understand the purpose, but why is the Mystic Forge still there?

Superior siege?

Granted with the addition of them being sold now at the notary, and rewards from the tracks, it won’t be needed as much now.

For the people that missed this note by McKenna, and complaining about banking without the crafters in wvw still.

Bank vendors will be added to all start areas of alpine, desert, ebg.
Please also note you can still use the guild registrar npc to access your bank through the guild bank, there’s a pull down tab for it, they are also at all the start areas already.
You can also bank at all upgraded keeps.

Upon observation we found there have been players taking up space in the maps who are only crafting and not participating with their teams.

However, we’ve been listening to your feedback today and we wanted to let you know that we will be adding a banker to each team starting area in EB, Alpine and Desert. Thank you for the continued feedback!

About the new poll

Idk why people are voting for simultaneous borderlands. One server having a different BL might not be fair. Not to mention, it doesn’t make sense having mixed borderlands unless all three maps are different. Now that would be a cool idea.

I think part of the reason is because it’s quarterly rotation, when it should rotate every week to keep things fresh. A quarter is just too long.

How exactly is having 3 different borderlands making it any more fair? what if the new bl isn’t quite as good as abl? what if the new bl is better than abl? are people going to continue crying about not having the “bestest” bl?

They have to manually switch the maps every time they want to change them, that’s why they won’t do it weekly or monthly.

I hope PvE players that were only coming to WvW to bank know they can do so just as easily by entering heart of the mists without interrupting the PvP matches in progress. :p

As far was I was aware the guild registrar already had a drop down bank access option.

The guild registrar allows access to guild banks, not account banks which is what the craft tables were also useful for aside from crafting. The only other way to get access to the bank was to get a t3 keep. But luckily now we will have an always accessible bank vendor.

I wonder if it would be acceptable to put crafting tables in the HoTM lobby as a compromise.

You can access your account bank from the guild registar too, there’s a pull down menu on the left side for it, but only your main bags, not the collections tab.

But anyone that was coming to wvw for banking have access to easier areas, as mentioned the spvp lobby(it’s free like wvw if you’re worried to save a silver), rata sum bank and trading post are both like 5 steps away from the waypoint, you can go to your guildhall if you have the scribe setup and access your bank there.

Moot point anyways since they will be adding a banker to all wvw maps.

- Yes, there are crafting stations in cities. There are also 25 uses salvage kits, or limited uses gathering tools, yet no one uses them.

- Don’t assume things you don’t know: yes, I’m spending 80% of my time in WvW – where did I say I was spending it sitting at the WP?

Shrug I still use the 25 salvage kits and limited oricalcum gathering tools, seriously, I have never bought any of the gem store tools since gathering tools are a pain to keep moving around, and no I’m not buying 30 of them to cover for my 10 level 80’s.

Removing the crafting stations changes one thing in your routine of having to stop by a city to do your crafting dailies, which you do anyways when you visit your home instance. Then you can pop into wvw as usual.

I just think some people are blowing this out of proportion is all.

I totally agree.

My typical GW2 day:

- Log in
- Grab the daily stuff in my home instance
- Do the skritt queen / quartz farm
- Harvest passion flowers
- Go to WvW
- Do my daily crafts
- Spend the rest of the time in WvW

Today:

- I logged in
- I grabbed the daily stuff in my home
- I farmed quartz
- I harvested passion flowers
- I went to WvW
- Titan was under attack, I went to defend it
- I ran back to the crafting stations – they weren’t there anymore
- I logged out

So wait… after all WvW has been through… you quit over crafting stations? ok.

Also that list makes it look like you use to go to wvw for crafting and spent the rest of your time in wvw doing that, while in scenario two since they weren’t there you logged.

You realize on your daily routine which required you to move around maps anyways, you could just go to rata sum and do your craft dailies(also rata sum home instance is pretty good), then hop into wvw?

Is there anyway to get the poll link to the survey – single sign on? So you don’t have to login into the survey … or is that some security issue?

Have to log in to vote even if you’re logged into the forums too, I don’t think they’re connected which is why you have to log in there every time.

I could maybe see that, but I think Anet has a lot higher priorities than that right now.

Yup, they don’t have the time to build new systems for a completely new game mode at the moment, still need to upgrade the old stuff we have, wvw, spvp, dungeons, fractals, then living story soon, new legendaries some time this century, new raids, new expansion, when they’re quite clearly shown they can’t work on all of the above at the same time.

It’ll be nice to have battlegrounds at some point though, if they can manage to do something bigger than 5v5.

Don’t care about the complaints.

1. You can access your bank through the guild register npc, there’s a pull down menu to switch to it.
2. You can access your bank at the upgraded keeps.
3. Rata Sum is the best city to do crafting, with the bank and trading post in the middle of it all. I only ever go to LA for the mystic forge.
4. Better prepare yourself before going into wvw, if you’re running low on foods and oils craft them in your downtime so it doesn’t affect your play time? Or now you can buy them off the provisioner.

Having said that, kinda late on these changes, use to see a ton of people in the crafting area in the early days, not so much these days, I suppose it’ll help a lil on reset night, maybe.

So, we have 2 more months of these matchups? For real? Someone mentioned in another topic that we will be switching at the end of the week. Guess not.

I mentioned it to you in the other thread, which you were talking about the t3 matchup. Tier 4 is different, their glicko is still far apart from t3 in order to get any new matches with them, so yes t4 is stuck by themselves, until this unholy 4 server alliance manages to drain t4 enough to break into t3.

well thx to those who voted 2 month and more to relink now u are stuck with crap matchup, its ur own fault.

World Linking 6/24/2016

Tier 2 and 3 are off this week because JQ rolled down to t3 taking mags place, we’ll have to wait next week to see if the servers roll into their own tiers to see if those servers were matched properly. Tier 4 is off because of that 4 link.

But these matchups/pairings only change every couple of months, not weekly. Or has that changed?

The linked pairings change every 2 months, the matchups change every week and it’s based on your server’s glicko rating and the random variance added when matchups are rolled. JQ is a T2 server matched with two T3 servers, Mags is a T3 server matched with two T2 servers this week.

So give it another week and see if those servers roll into their own proper tiers and see if the tier is balanced then. There’s obviously still a big divide in population and coverage between tiers so the unbalanced matches will still happen.

In all honesty, Ebay should not even be considered ‘high’.
We might have been (months ago) before guilds hopped on the first linkage t1, accessory server bandwagon. So this brings into question the data history being used for the pairings to begin with. How can this be solved? Dunno, perhaps keep an eye on gems used for transfers prior to re-link (where did people leave, where did they arrive).

From what I remember prior to original linkage was DH being very very large compared to our server when it was “more full”. They fit better with servers like NSP, Mag, HoD. Now, they seem much smaller. Ebay was more the size of SF, GoM, and FC but again, we lost people too. So we are more like a medium-high with a medium atm.
The only reason we can barely contend is simply due to awesomeness, but that can only carry you so far

Yeah I have an account on EB, it’s weird I can’t believe the population status for the past couple months, even after losing the two big wvw guilds it had plus a couple others not playing much, it went to very high at one point.

DH took a beating the last two months being a host server, things didn’t seem to go well with their link either, meanwhile HoD was doing very well as a host with EB, but gets taken off and placed in t3.

I know not every server that has the highest pops will be the host due to trying to getting better link matches, but one look at DH/EB says it needed a medium server with them in that matchup, or the lowest of the 4 links needed to be with them. Unless Anet really is trying to get CD and links to break into t3, which at this point they should have just reset glicko ratings instead.

Maybe instead of screaming and crying about how terrible these pairings are, we should actually give it a little time and see for ourselves.

A blind man could see that having DH/EB vs 3 and 4 link servers wouldn’t work out well.

2 high servers vs 2 high 1 medium vs 1 high 3 mediums. Then the next tier up there’s 2 very highs matched together, one of which was winning t4 (they ain’t doing so well in t3 right now, because t2 jq is there).

I’m all for waiting to see how things go, but right off the bat that matchup seemed bad, and it’ll probably be a rough 2 months for DH(again) and EB.

Because to have a good competitive environment, all sides need to have an equal playing field, literally. Football fields are equal on both sides of the 50 yard line are they not? I can’t think of a single sport that has unequal courts, fields, or lanes. As such, people that play WvW as a competitive game mode will leave.

It’s funny to sad how much WvW is becoming EotM. In EotM there’s two types of play, K-Training or Bag Farming. Now in WvW it’s basically coming down to people wanting to full blown either K-Training or Bag Farming too. Long live EotM 2.0

WvW has never been a balance competitive environment. Football teams that play on those football fields also have equal numbers, that only happens in wvw when the map is filled on all three sides, which only happens on reset or ebg regularly. It doesn’t matter the size of the map, or how many same copies of the map you have, the side with more active players and coverage wins, always.

EBG is not “equal”, there are equal amount of structures, but their layouts are not equal. Some would say it’s an advantage to treb smc from the red keep, others would say it isn’t since it can be trebbed from smc while the two other keeps cannot be. Mendons is an inner tower that’s difficult to defend unless you’re in the tower, meanwhile all other inner towers are in range to be defended from the keep. The counter to that of course is Ogres watch is an outer tower that can be defended from the keep, but so can wildcreek and klovan, while blue side suffers on that.

I get it, all 3 bls should be the exact same, everyone should have the same access to home defense, but again the alternative is abl 3 months, dbl 3 months, do you want that? They’ve already stepped down the road for multiple borderlands, they’ll probably make a 3rd one at some point, one bl will be an american football field, the other will be a canadian football field, and the last one will be a rugby field.

You will have different field sizes, but the 50yard line is the equal amount of structures in every map, that beyond anything else is what needs to be the same, since every bl needs to produce the same amount of points.

Strongly disagree here about DBL. Some people liked it no doubt, but let’s not pretend that populations didn’t take a nose dive. ABL actually revitalized participation.

Heh, and yet you pretend that guildhalls grind, guildhall wvw upgrades, guild cata nerf, auto upgrades, elite specalizations, didn’t happen when HoT came out at the same time as dbl. Or that the stabilization fix, server links (which is the biggest factor in seeing more players), didn’t happen when abl came back.

Dbl drove people away sure, but let’s not pretend it was the only thing that put wvw in a bad spot for 6 months, or that Abl was the lone savior of it.

They may be trying to repair t1 so they left tc and yb open to hopefully get some transfers and better matchup against bg, and continue to not needing a link. The t8’s who where the most appropriate servers to be up there didn’t want to be there anyways given the complaints in the early days of linking.

I believe they’re sticking to balancing according to the tier and not trying to balance every server to each other. I still think that 2v3v4 linkup was poorly done though, and don’t believe dh/eb will catch a break in 8 weeks, but we’ll see over the week I guess.

WvW Poll 14 June: Desert Borderlands (Closed)

Guess i’m late to the party, haven’t played wvw since shortly after the DBL were introduced so had no idea about the existence of this poll nor about the reintroduction of alpine borders.
And i suppose this also exposes a flaw in the poll they did.

Most people still following GW2 wvw were going to be people that are more favourable towards the DBLs, the people that absolutely hate those borders are long gone.

So while this poll may be fair to those still playing, keeping the DBLs around is not going to help WvW regain former players. If the borders are going to be used for weekly rotations, then in my case i might play when it’s Alpine, and i’ll sit out the weeks when it’s DBL.

1. There isn’t going to be a weekly rotation.

2. If someone was still interested in gw2 or wvw after they left from the expansion, they would checked on the game through forums or news or friends every once in a while. People still following are not “just” players who favored the dbl, I sure didn’t, but I kept up with wvw news.

3. The DBL polls were for:
A. Having it a permanent 1dbl/2abl, so no quarterly rotation of replacing all 3 bls with 1 map would be needed, this did not pass.
B. Removing dbl from wvw all together, this did not pass.
C. The next poll will ask again about a 1dbl/2abl, if that loses again we will be stuck with 3 month rotations, and wvw players can feel free to dunk their heads into something not pleasant.

4. They polled people still playing the game or reading the forums, that’s not a flaw. If they haven’t been doing either they’re no longer interested in the game, simple as that.

5. Telling those players about the polls isn’t going to magically get them all to play again if the things they hate about wvw are still present, if they left after dbl and didn’t return for abl, it means more than just the map was a problem for them.

Sugg- 3 factions and 9 maps

The only way to deal with the huge populations of 3 factions and have enough maps is to have 3 abl, 3 dbl, 3 ebg, (one hell of a nightmare of a world map) and let those be the base maps. Then you spawn extra maps as needed, which anet will have to decide if they are worth no points ticks from structures (maybe just capture points) and kills so ppk, or less points from structures which wouldn’t be quite balanced.

I don’t think anyone wants to see the eotm formula of every instant is their own scoring. But the above model will keep the structure points in check to just the base maps as a real matchup, and any extra scoring is done through ppk, as it is right now. I’m not sure about points per capture as that may just lead to k-trains.

I’m sure some type of limitation will be needed for the ppk maps, so one side doesn’t run away with the scores again because they have more people, like only have it kick in for a map that is 75% full by all 3 sides.

In the end though I think having access to too many maps may just start to turn people off from wanting to defend or upgrade, the world would just be too big to give a care.

Again Jade Quarry gets paired up with the lowest tier server for another 3 months…great. How does pairing get decided? Is it all random?

And DB got your former pair, while YB had your new pair, I guess anything linked to JQ is the lowest tier server.

I’m actually having fun in this current match. All 9 servers that are against each other atm, rofl.

Gate Of Madness, Ferguson’s Crossing, Sorrow’s Furnace
Crystal Desert, Borlis Pass, Kaineng, Eredon Terrace
Darkhaven, Ehmry Bay

The blobs are insanity.

Which is exactly what the format needed: uneven pairings to compensate for differences in individual servers and tiers. I’ve been vouching for this kind of chaos for years, as this is how it was at release, and was genuinely fun. Super serious? No. But fun matters more, because fun keeps people playing since it’s the point of playing games.

Now, if the pairings were redone by other factors such as online presence over time, number of fight events over time, tag uptime, and so on, and then balanced around that data rather than glicko, we’d be looking at some pretty crazy matchups, such as having tons of low-tier servers versus one in T1, and the likes.

It looks like DH/EB are going to be the but end of this joke for 2 months. Probably the effects of t8 servers not wanting to be up in tiers, but wasn’t expecting a 2v3v4 matchup, seems like the wrong servers were chosen for the 2. I’m throwing out that theory out about wanting even servers up and down the tiers. Maybe the 4 servers will manage to break the t3 ceiling.

They said it takes about a week for the status to change, the last time servers were open a couple weeks ago it was for a week.

Having said that… you have an open window right now, so move whomever now and don’t come back in 4 days to complain. They said over 2 weeks ago they were going to relink servers, if your guild mates on another server haven’t been preparing gems for a transfer since that time I dunno what to tell you.

The opportunities to transfer are probably not going to come often, especially to the t1 servers, so get it done while it’s open and stop waiting for the last day. A lesson to anyone else that thinks they will move in the future, save gems up while you can for a rainy day move.

WOW Anet THANK YOU for ruining WvW, You just broke apart at least 4 guilds I know with these pairing ands keeping servers locked. GG thank you for ruining everything, BTW who is going to give all of us our money/gold back for the people who bought them for this transfer that’s not going to happen. Looks like the group of folks I know will be looking for a new game to play. RIP

I want to know who thought it was a good idea to link FC and DH. Seriously? FC is the only medium server who didn’t get tied to a full server. You’ve got full servers tied to very high servers IN OUR TIER. Let’s hope the next time around they bother to look at thier list more than once before they Nuke a server.

Keep in mind that there are servers that are marked high and very high right now, that were on medium status before the links happened, plus the new calculation they’re using to determine population status with the linked server.

Ehmry bay was medium and has lost guilds but is on very high right now, and by that speculation post higher than darkhaven now to take it’s place as host. Maybe things didn’t work as well for DH/FC and players have moved or left.

However, it’d be nice if we went back to the days where the pugs/roamers/players had respect and love for those guilds because you knew you could depend on them to help the server as a whole.

I just don’t know what happened along the way where the game got toxic and guilds became elitists. That breaks communities and makes the game not fun for everyone.

Because there’s a few that are “bad apples” for the community and that attitude seemed to spread over time, dunno guess the newer gvgers coming up thought it was cool to be a jerk. To gain respect you need to need give it, and some of them are filled with players who don’t care to.

I’ve seen a few that have gone from helping capture difficult structures, helping defend cause it always led to fights, to just zerg busting, then to taking it more seriously into gvging, and then turning into jerks and telling people to get off the bls, teq is up, making troll siege, chat spamming, telling scouts to shut up, etc. That toxicity spread to both sides of the fence.

Sea of Sorrows, was bandwaggoned to in effort to make it rise from rank 9 to Rank 1 Tier 1. There has been countless efforts not to just make a server rise in a tier but also to lock a tier in general.

The situation on BG was toxic and we wanted to end the toxic nature, thus we left. There was a huge difference in opinion and BG is better because we left and so are we. When OnS and TW moved we moved with 9 guilds total who each had many reasons for this all coming from Blackgate. Yet, we moved from BG and BG was still able to maintain and didnt even take a 5% of the hit TC took even though TC lost no guilds.

You are still seeming to be bitter and rather blame two guilds for your problems. You rather look at the past you don’t understand and try to correlate it to the present problems, even though the present problems have to do with this “Beta”. Even our recent move to TC had to do with this beta and not with “forcing” a server to Tier 1.

When you moved to YB you were basically bragging the entire time that you’re going to break the t1 ceiling, you brought that attention onto yourself, your guild, and your alliance. Like I said if you want to take credit for breaking t1 and starting a rotation, you gotta take the flack for the fallout of it too.

Yes I remember the first DB implosion to SoS, I went along with it, at the time titan alliance was breaking up and PRX moved to SoS too, free transfers was still around. In those days players were still figuring out servers and coverage was being highlighted with what HoD did, lots of servers were pushing for the top back then. Guild moves especially multiples moving at once have more impact these days than it did back then though.

I’m not bitter, I’m not in t1, haven’t had contact with your guild since seasons when BG faced SoS for a week, so I certainly have no problems that involve you or your guild, other than hey thanks for pulling YB out of t2 last year, was a bit late for my guild who already had moved down tiers but oh well. Haven’t had any contact with TW since they made an attempt in warhammer online private server a few months ago and then dods and Indo got banned.

Was just pointing out some things, most guilds move cause they’re bored and try to create a new fun environment for themselves. You guys moved cause you were also bored and also drama, but you moved to create some destruction going back to t1. You don’t seem to be a dense person, so I’m sure you realize the impact your moves have been having on these servers, and a lot of people just don’t view them as being good. Maybe if you and tw didn’t go around giving out so much attention to the yb move, people wouldn’t give you their attention when t1 went wrong, notice 7 out of the 9 guilds don’t get the blame?

But hey if you want to call me bitter as your defense to the call outs, be my guest lol.

Hey people are feel to do what they want. They did in part cause the mess up there, like I pointed out most other guilds move with some sort of balance in mind, they didn’t. They wanted to break t1 cause they were bored of it, they’re going to catch some flack for how t1 has ended up now since 3 of the servers they were directly involved with are up there now. Mal certainly loved telling everyone he was going to create a rotation up there, wanna take credit for that, gotta take the flack for it too.

He also had the option to jump to SoS or FA to try to help balance t2 out.

But hey what’s done is done, hopefully the links fix some of the mess up on friday.

OnS and TW did not start the whole server stacking and jumping thing lol, that has been going on as long as wvw has been live.

Yeah but did any other guilds move so they could forcefully move servers up in rankings? other than like Warmachine years ago lol. Most guilds moved to get away from queues, to find better places to have more fun experiences in wvw.

Hell the majority of guilds that have moved in the last few years have been fight/gvg oriented guilds, most ppt guilds wouldn’t move unless the community got too toxic for them or they got good offers. When they moved they moved to balance tiers because obviously moving to the same server gets them less fights.

OnS doesn’t jump servers to balance tiers, they do it to break them, but they do it with buddies, and not just TW. That’s why they get the attention.

I’m starting to think Anet should probably just go back into silent mode, since we can’t even appreciate the effort they’re making in trying to communication with us lately, we begged and pleaded for years to be heard and now people just want to nitpick and break down everything they present to us.

These polls aren’t viable!, we have more pve players voting on stuff they don’t care about! sacrilegious!, we don’t have the hardcore players who quit two years ago voting! outrageous!, a rank 10 that gained a level this week gets to vote? wickedness!, well you worded it wrong it should be the other way so we get the majority of votes!, that guy has 20 accounts he spammed the votes the wrong way! lawlessness!,

Wait I thought this was a majority poll?, wait this wasn’t a majority poll? hold on I need my glasses, you didn’t explain this poll enough!, you explained the answers too much so people got confused!, you put too many yes answers so people got confused and didn’t vote no!, you need a year and 1000 ranks of experience to vote! the more ranks you get the more bonus votes you get veteran of the mist eotm’er!, they should hire a real professional survey company cause everything is random!

They have enough information on what to work on for the next year anyways.

Ebay/HoD, DH, NSP same outcome each week

They’ll just have to do a better job of relinking servers to be more in line with each other.

There’s still a population/coverage tier divide as before the links, I’m wondering if their intention is to keep a divide between tiers or to try and make every server combo viable for multiple tiers.

Like currently for an example, the population on the servers may be looking like:

t1 server = 1500 players
t2 server = 1200 players
t3 server = 1000 players
t4 server = 800 players

or are they trying to eventually create:

t1 server = 1125 players
t2 server = 1125 players
t3 server = 1125 players
t4 server = 1125 players

Which is difficult given the state of t1’s population right now. But then again given that there’s players who don’t want to play with zergs or blobs or t1 or 2, I’d guess scenario 1 is more appropriate to work with.

Morale is the single most powerful win in this game. If you make the enemy grow bored, tired, angry, etc and quit, then you gain more on this than any other way of fighting the enemy.

Yeah indeed it is, but it’s too bad most will go to the “make them bored” route to try and break their enemies morale, instead of the “double team” like JQ TC did once upon a time in a tournament. Since trying to make your opponent bored will take a longer amount of time and not to mention probably bore your side out as well, while as the other way keeps everyone actively playing with a purpose.

Guess the only way that would ever change is if anet implements mechanics for it. Maybe that suggestion someone had of doing bounties on the enemy could help in this regard, or in the catch up mechanics maybe earn 2x more points for owning structures of the current points leader. But dunno would be nice if players could come to that focus on their own.

Meh you all can point fingers all over, it’s just as much the players faults as anets that wvw is in the state it’s in. Players have been stacking and restacking servers since before release, titan alliance stacked hod for 24/7 coverage coming out of beta, ocx stacked sos, bunch of other bandwagons to the winning servers, etc.

OnS and maybe TW, did have an impact on screwing up the populations on a couple server, Mal is probably grinning inside that people are giving his guild so much credit for a mess. Well if you hadn’t jumped your alliance (which was more than just 2 guilds) onto YB you wouldn’t have pushed them to t1 which started the decline of it. JQ NA has it’s problems, with TW coming over for a period of time to help stabilize them.

Then you jumped to TC where you had your alts before, but guilds on there didn’t want you and your alliance, so they left. You pulled a chunk of players out of YB and then forced a chunk of them to move from TC, leaving BG to become the last t1 superpower server in the game.

The SoR situation is not even the same, that server failed internally because of the elitist players and lack of pugs to recruit from anymore (cause they did an excellent job of running them off), guilds jumped when that sinking ship started down the tiers, tc at t2.5 was the next best solution to stay in t1. Your alliance didn’t leave BG because it was failing. Yeah you help create a t1 server in YB, and now you’ve left them there to sink again, good job.

It’s time you moved your alliance down to lower servers for a change, you already messed up the top servers pretty good, too bad you can’t work your magic to help destack bg at this point too.

Xen, you’ve quoted me twice as saying “at least 2 towers per keep” …

I think it’s more than safe to assume that “at least” means at minimum, and that “at least” doesn’t necessarily mean each side has to have the same number of towers.

I never said anything about making each side have equal numbers of towers. Only that there should be “at least two towers per keep”. That leaves plenty of room to allow the home team to have more towers than the other sides… How are you not understanding this?

Basically , you are putting words in my mouth that I never said. I have no idea why you think the way you do concerning my wanting more towers. Can’t you take it at face value that I just want more towers? I never said anything about removing home team advantage. Never. You made that up on your own. And then falsely accused me of it…

All your original post mentioned was that abl needed at least 2 towers per keep. You didn’t say they should add 3 towers, you didn’t say they should add at least 1 more tower per keep, which would have made the intention of your suggestion clearer. You left the number up in the air.

I was simply pointing out the reason for a home borderland, that’s it. So many others have already made the mistake of treating it like a regular map in their suggestions, like making dbl as an ebg or eotm map, which wouldn’t work if they knew the purpose of both types of maps.

Now would you go to a coffee shop and tell them you would like at least 2 muffins? They come out with 4 and then you tell them, well no I said at least 2 but I really wanted 3.
(any server would just bring you 2 to start, and wait for you to ask for more, just saying you left that number open for them to do whatever)

Dunno why we’re going back on and forth on this, it’ll never happen anyways cause abl is basically set in stone now, this would be a suggestion on future maps.

We were told the gift of battle would be turned to only reward track when the WvW reward tracks exited beta.

There was a poll asking if the WvW reward tracks were ready to exit beta.

Hm I musta missed that memo somewhere.

In any case I’m doing the track right now, not a big deal, I mean we had to sink so much more hours grinding pve just to get our guildhalls upgraded and wvw buffs back.

Spending 8-9 hours in wvw for the reward track or collecting 500 badges is not really unreasonable, we’ve all had to do stuff in this game that we don’t want to do to progress.

Why would someone transfer their account from a locked server when many people on locked servers already have alt accounts on lower populated servers? Many T1 guilds already have offers from lower tiers to have paid transfers. Not sure why anything thinks players would remove more valuable accounts to make their account lose value.

What happens when you lock top servers is the accounts on those servers become valuable and people sell them to anyone who wants to transfer there… Some accounts I have seen sell on other games for more than $5,000.

People don’t leave locked servers often due to knowing they can’t just go back if they are not having fun elsewhere.

Lets not offer free transfers cause people won’t move due to preserving the account sell value……

Checking the nearest sales site I see 19 accounts for sale, 16 of them under 500, 9 of them under 100.

Even if the free transfers manages to pull 20-50 people off a loaded server to the bottom servers it would be a win, would be like pulling 1 queue line off a server.

While players have alts, sometimes it’s a pain having to give time to those other accounts, releveling, regearing, building masteries again. I did that for a while on an alt account, I got sick of not having all my masteries and fully geared characters, I just moved my main afterwards. There would be players willing to move I’m sure, it doesn’t have to be more than a 100 players moving to be worthwhile to do.

They do stack. 10 regular limit, +5 from mastery, +5 from guild aura, +5 from presence of the keep. I haven’t been experiencing this problem.

WvW legendary armor

Doubt they’ll bring legendary armor to wvw, right now it’s the big reward for their raids. They’re more focused on fixing wvw right now, and the reward tracks were a nice boost to rewarding game play.

The Mistforged Hero Tombstone legendary back piece would be nice though… lol.
