North Keep: One of the village residents will now flee if their home is destroyed.

I assume you’re asking for 2 alpine home bl, 1 desert home bl, 1 eotm, 1 ebg?
While it might be a good idea to get the eotm population into the wvw side, just keep in mind that the sides are filled with players from all servers under those colors, when you break that back down to individual servers it may not be much gain.
Also most servers can barely get 2 maps full other than reset for 2 hours, how is adding eotm and it’s split population going to help?
Having the eotm population away from main wvw is not a problem of wvw, so I don’t really see see how it’s suppose to “save it”.
Rather they ask us polls on stuff like this than just implementing it.
PS. Eotm wasn’t designed as a full wvw map, hence why it doesn’t have structure upgrades, no caravans, no guild upgrades. It was meant for a quick place to play some simple battles while you wait in queue for the real maps.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
That’s wvw, there’s always a risk a zerg will run you over, it’s on them to have awareness to avoid it. If duelers want a safe spot, there’s the arenas available.
Well if you’re going to add things to map you have to think what purpose are they going to serve. The skritt and centaur areas on alpine should have been mercenary camps much like the ones in ebg, with bigger groups of them roaming around to take camps and towers.
You could turn them into towers, but then what purpose would they serve? they would be towers out in the middle of nowhere.
Desert was designed with most of the structures at the edges of the borderland, while that does use most of the map space, it also made most of the structures disconnected and pretty pointless to take other than for ppt. They were suppose to serve as blockers to other areas, but that didn’t exactly go over well with the players.
The maps are big but that doesn’t mean you have to use every square inch, as long as the capture areas serve a purpose for other than ppt it’s fine.
Mobile waypoints, reminds me of Advanced Mobile Station from planetside 1, which was a vehicle you could use to place for closer respawns to objectives. Mobile waypoints could be fun to keep fights going, but I think there’s just too many ways to abuse it, it would take the place of the emergency waypoint, or even a long distance mesmer portal of sorts. If they ever introduce something like that in the game then they would have to remove contesting keep waypoints in order to make it fair.
anet has said numerous times they won’t support functionality that excludes players.

You do realize that groups already run without tags and they don’t always want to run as a public group? Plus you can create a tagless squad already.
Yes some commanders might retreat to just running their own private squads when they get the tag, but that’s their choice, a choice that already exist today, we’re just giving them a tag for their squad/guild to see.
Plus with Ccoms commanders on TS know where other groups are.
Chat spamming isn’t going to be any different than it is today when no tag is up.
Nope.
Already got balista for straight line siege, ac for overhead siege, cata for mid range heavy siege, got treb for long range heavy siege. Don’t need anymore siege types for open field. Structures have their own cannons and mortars.
You guys should probably look into traps though.
Gonna ask them to turn off dropping off bags from kills to? cause seriously, getting loot off a reward track ain’t no different than getting it dropped from a player or lord.
They just need to let us pick the one default track we would like and leave it at that, no need for queue orders. If you can’t be bothered to check your track every once in a while to switch, or don’t want nothing to do with the track just let your bags fill up and don’t bother to empty them till the end of your run.
•Update Outnumbered buff to perhaps provide a minor bloodlust stat boost.
A-net had place stat boost in before but it only helps the winning server win more. Also Stat boost tend to make good players more powerful and some guilds may try to exclude player from a map just to get the outnumbered buff(if it was a stat buff). I would prefer if outnumbered did something else to help the outnumbered server. Like give your a scouting buff that shows enemy position if their are more than 10 coming to your, since chances are you roamer on an outnumbered map.
Hm don’t remember them placing stat boosts on the outnumbered buff before, other than the magic find, no repair cost and exp bonus.
It’s a minor bloodlust, something you already get from owning one bloodlust on the borderlands, which in the current case is worse when the winning side has all 3.
Guilds don’t control access to maps, they can try to be rude and run players off a map to get the minor buff, like some gvg guilds do to get their players on a map, but that would be pretty sad, most players shrug it off and ignore them. How many guilds complain about not having the current bloodlust?
I do like the idea of turning everyone with the outnumbered buff into sentries that mark enemies around them though.

Sub squad colors would be great, sometimes I also only run in groups instead of the commander squad because I don’t want it to be a sea of blue tags and then I lose track of everyone. Sometimes you also get moved around in the squad and makes it worse.
Was going to list Guild only commander tags as we have requested for many years now. But with the creation of squads and commander tags tied to them now, I thought it was time to ask for the Squad only tags. So you would have the choices to have the tag visible to everyone on the map, or just visible to those in your squad, squad invites open or closed. Most sane guilds run in a squad anyways.
@ Raolin Soulherder.3195
I thought about listing build saver, but due to the fact that our traits are now saved separately from pve I figured it was a less important now. Although it would be great if we could get trait/gear builds save so we can easily swap between say roamer, zerg, havoc builds. But not exactly something we have in spvp either so chances of getting it, very low at this point.
QoL?
1) Restore crafting stations to WvW. I’m fed up with the gold seller spam using crafting stations in cities.
2) 3rd weapon slot.
3) More tournaments with better rewards.
4) A “List commanders” option to list all friendly commanders and which borders they are on.
1) Crafting stations certainly qualify as a qol change, although it’s controversial right now.
2) That’s a major change for the entire game, and probably not the wvw devs call to make.
3) This has been gone over in other threads, it’s not possible to have a “fair tournament”, the rewards for these tournaments are already being distributed into the game, the hero weapon reward track plus their mistforged versions coming in another way.
4) You can already do this with your friends list, add the commander to your friends list and then you can rename them.
Maybe something to give people keeping watch in keeps something to do, for example spawn some critters that drop t6 mats occasionally (make them disappear when keep becomes contested, so they don’t get in the way of fights) A little silly but you get the idea.
A drop down right click menu that is on the keeps icon already, that will let you send a quick map chat message of an attack (I am a terribly slow typist).
Make refreshing siege give a little wxp and or reward participation.
also as well as a build saver add an out of combat gear/equipment switcher.
Interesting ideas.
The random mini event could be like capture 5 rats in the keep and get 1 random t6 mat. The problem with this is, it will turn out to be a distraction that wouldn’t be wanted. Most wvw players would like to have players that come into wvw to contribute to wvw, not players coming in there just to “pve”. You could spread this event to be random enough that it isn’t worth hunting it down, just wouldn’t want it to turn into a pokemon go.
A right click drop down menu for the map would be great. Right click on garrison and select [Garrison Contested] and it sends that message to the map chat. Or maybe right click anywhere on the map and select another message [Large enemy group spotted] with an icon like the orange crossed swords (but a different icon like walking boots or something) comes up on the map for a couple seconds. Only thing they will have to worry about is players spamming these, and you know we always have that one clown on the map who will do it. Maybe you can make this a squad only feature that the assigned scouts can use.
For siege refreshing I actually would like to see them increase the duration, maybe minor wxp and participation rewards. With the wxp and participation rewards, you could run into the problem of someone building to 195 max participation and then sitting in a corner refreshing a siege all day to avoid the decay.
@ Miko.4158
Would love it if weather effects were more prominent in the game. Having played The Division the last few months and seeing those snow storms in there and how they affect fire fights are awesome. Too bad there isn’t heavy storms in the game, fighting in a hurricane would be pretty cool, a rainstorm could put out fire fields, high winds reducing arrow cart range. XD
@ msalakka.4653
Class balance and qol changes are two different things, most of the balancing for the game is currently centered around spvp. Until the skill split, then we’ll see how much input for changes the wvw department can do.
@ McKenna Berdrow
Thank you!
Thanks for replies guys, lets keep it going. Keep in mind that these should be suggestions related to the WvW section of the game.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
Are all your tracks completed or something? I assume it selects from group of tracks that’s open to select, as in not completed, (in which case why are reopening gift of battle track), and if none are open maybe it goes to gift of battle by default. Maybe reactive a track you wouldn’t mind getting so that it defaults to that after you complete your current track. I always get twilight arbor as my default track it goes back to.
No 3rd floor acs? FAIL! XD
Was expecting an area flooded with acs like the treb video. XD
Anyways it’s good that you guys are having fun.
I blame the new map…. wait…
It’s just history repeating itself, they promises of a massive WvW overhaul they couldn’t deliver and it turns out to be a few mini-tweaks released sporadically on a 1… 2 years calendar.
I said I would get back to the game when the massive overhaul is released, and I know it’s the same for my friends… so were waiting.
There is no grand massive one time overhaul coming. What they said they were working on last year was back end stuff or whatever to make it easier to make changes in wvw. I don’t know how much of that I can believe but it’s whatever.
They said they had plans and then things kept being added and delayed, then when Colin left they planned on releasing stuff in smaller bits instead. So we got reward tracks, server links, score timer changes, some scoring changes, qol changes with provisioner.
So we’ve already been given part of the “overhaul”, and the skirmish scoring changes are still coming. Beyond that the stuff like repair hammers that’s been sitting around for years, more qol changes, maybe a 3rd bl map, and maybe wvw skill split changes. Doesn’t seem like it wasn’t that much that needed to be constantly delayed for over a year, just sounds like Colin didn’t give two beeps about wvw.
Agreed with and like near all your suggestions.
Then you posted this, and I had to scratch my head:
Npc guards and lords updated to wear Triumphant armor, and Mistforged hero weapons.
:p
LOL I was thinking that wvw could use a bit of a facelift and that maybe just changing what the guards and lords were wearing would be a minor but cool change. Players can get a preview of the unique armor and weapons they can get in wvw (they can already in the wardrobe preview but still). Would be nice to see guards and lords dressed as high ranked around instead of low level hobo’s guarding our stuff. XD

Wvw uses pve skills system, so in a way… yes? depends how much they wanna screw with pve numbers, which could screw up wvw.. we’ll see.
Erm WvW is a PvP mode, that it uses PvE gear doesn’t alter that, which is why for example WvW uses the same reduced rate of damage for retaliation that sPvP uses (33% less), rather than the higher retal damage that is used for PvE.
Because they didn’t split the retaliation skill for pve/pvp, all they did was reduce the damage in the pvp/wvw zones. You can go back to the old discussions on how ebg had the reduction but the borderlands didn’t at one point.
WvW uses pve gear foods and oils, spvp uses it’s own gear with premade stat limitations, they both use the same skills/traits since they haven’t had the tech to split them easily, but now apparently they do. There is a difference in numbers for each, wvw/pve has a wider variety of stats, while spvp is more restricted. So for balancing purposes it makes sense to side wvw with pve than spvp.
If they can manage to split wvw into it’s own then cool, all the better as they can then pump the damage and buffs in pve if they want.
Alright, we had this option when we were voting for this or the scoring changes. Some of the stuff they suggested were interesting like the cross map chat, others like the sparkle trail… not so much.
So I think it’s about a good time to make a thread and give Anet our suggestions for this section, which may be the next thing they work on if voted in on the next priority vote. Or who knows it’s something they’re working on the side while they wait on scoring programming.
WvW Quality of Life Improvements as suggested by Anet.
- Add an option for reduced nameplate clutter. – yes!
- Add cross-map team chat. – yes!
- Add objective-summary tool tips. – meh
- Add a display effect for Righteous Indignation on map markers. – yes!
- Add floating indicators when gaining points toward war score. – meh
- Add a WXP-gain sparkle trail. – meh
- Add a territory-control map overlay. -meh
Others I’d like to see.
Couple others added.
If anyone has anything to add, please do, and let’s keep this thread constructive, thanks!

Wvw uses pve skills system, so in a way… yes? depends how much they wanna screw with pve numbers, which could screw up wvw.. we’ll see.
Reset night time off by 2 hrs for est….. yadda yadda yadda.. enjoy the no queues pst!
If you don’t want the buff don’t fight around claimed structures. Keeps should be hard to take, not rolled over. And yes the outnumbered buff should give a stat boost, that would be something useful about it at least.
We’ll see I guess, haven’t touched my t4 alts in over a month. Last time a t3 was in t4 it stomped them, SBI+ 417k DH+ 273k NSP+ 263k, but that was just one week back in april, the t3 match that week FA+ 396k SoS+ 317k HoD+ 252k. I know, a lot of population have moved around since then.
This a temporary solution, if they have to do this every time they relink might as well reset the ratings when they do.
Bumping the glicko to get CD+ out of t4 isn’t going to help much, because of how the balance was done t3 is probably still bigger than t4 populations. Maybe SoS+ or SBI+ will drop down but that’s not going to stop the clubbing from happening.
Since we’re now at the point where you need to mess with glicko to get out of this situation it might be a signal to just reset it. Start resetting glicko every new link period so servers tart at t1 2000, t2 1900, t3 1800, t4 1700. 300 point gap instead of 700. Every new link resets where the population is at for every server involved, so why not reset glicko as well to make it easier for them to settle into their own tiers faster.
I kinda want restrictions to help curb players from mass repairing a siege, so we don’t go through the situation as those players that waste supply repairing a wall actively being trebbed, it’s a waste and a burden to their own team.
Thanks for the information McKenna.
I don’t know if you guys are thinking of any restrictions for those repair hammers, some others have brought up some ideas for those in these threads.
I think maybe a player should only be able to use a hammer once to repair a siege item, once it’s been repaired it can no longer be repaired again by anyone else, whether or not they were carrying and used 1 or 25 supply.
Or perhaps only a certain maximum percentage can be repaired, such as up to 25% and that’s it until it’s destroyed.
Or they are only usable on structure siege, not player made siege.
I really don’t want to see an entire zerg feeding supplies to keep a bunch of omegas up in a battle.
I know the test will give better results on the avenues to take this, but some things to think about anyways.
Linking, on paper can work, it just depends on Anet doing it properly. I think this comes down to knowing the servers instead of just reading data off the screen. Seeing that Darkhaven had just come from a poor linking which came in last in every match in the first set of links, I think we can all imagine they lost players and probably needed a break to recover from those losses, maybe linked with HoD instead.
Instead they gave them Ehmry who was winning with HoD, but quite frankly HoD did most of the work, no offense to Ehmry who lost guilds during that time and less regulars were playing. The 3 and 4 linked servers maybe could have matched up with just HoD/EB instead of DH/EB. The reason why they even threw that many servers in t4 is probably because of the complaints when the t8 servers were dumped into t1 with the first links. But that tier was poorly done this time around and players I’m sure were shocked to see it happen and probably could tell right away it was going to be bad.
What I expect from linking is either these two scenarios.
Balance every server population wise as close as possible so that every server will be able to have closer coverage and fights. Sounds like that t4 4 link could have maybe matched up against t2 or maybe t1 with their reported numbers early on. Problems with this is players who don’t want to be on packed servers, but even if the populations and coverage are closely matched, t1/2 guilds would probably demolish the t4 zergs/blobs. This scenario isn’t happening going by the 2 sets of links so far.
Second scenario, balance the servers according to their tiers, much as they were before the links. That means every tier will have less population overall than the one above it, but they should be close enough to the 2-3 servers they’re playing against. I know that’s difficult to do, and probably why they asked us if we would like more worlds as links so that it would be easier to build the jigsaw puzzle population with many more options. That 4 link just seemed a bit much this early on in linking.
At this point I wish they would just do away with glicko and just do the one up one down scenario for servers, enough of the glicko walls.
I’m sure at some point down the line they will consider doing away with servers and moving to the eotm alliance type of match making, whether by the way suggested in the forums to keep populations even on the new servers or by their own method. I expect links to be an experiment in trying to get populations closer without doing the drastic moves of hard merges or random eotm alliances, but eventually it will come down to that and I expect players will be more receiving of it now. Wvw isn’t growing from what I can see, it’s still dying a slow death in population, I don’t really expect that to change.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
2nd week in a row where the scores are neck to neck. I think we got a winning Tier.
With BG on a break and TC propping up the score by not running over everything in sight? Sure, close, I guess. If both those t1 servers were playing at regular strength I have no doubt DB would be in the middle getting crushed (like reset night), but then they would chase the pugs away and there wouldn’t be anyone to feed to the TC blobs.
Maybe instead of working on more siege stuff they should switch to QoL changes if possible.
You really don’t need jumping mushrooms and gliders for auric basin to get from place to place, you really only need it to get to certain things like masteries points hidden up on a ledge or something. Verdant and tangled both are much heavily reliant on gliders and mushrooms.
I wouldn’t mind a wvw map designed around auric basin, it’s a decent jungle map that doesn’t have a tree screwing with your camera every 5 steps you take, plus tarir city would be easy to convert to a smc type area.
I assume standard majority means 75%?
Standard majority means… a majority. A standard, ordinary majority of grater than 50%. Despite a 75% majority being arguably the “standard” for recent WvW feedback polls, that’s not what the phrase means.
Well thank you Professor Entrea Sumatae.7830
… why make it a consumable item when you can just add another blip for the repair mastery in WvW ranks? That would unlock an F1 skill on the siege that spends supply to repair it. It would also balance it so that the siege wouldn’t be usable while it is being repaired, and would prevent like 10 people spamming repair to keep 1 siege weapon up.
Now there’s a good idea. Although I don’t think this vote will go through anyways.
I assume standard majority means 75%?
No reason to take wvw seriously anymore, just spend the time having the most fun you can while there’s population around for you to do so.
I am not sure if I ever took GW2’s wvw very seriously. Maybe, at first, when I was getting aps for it(and then that ended)…….but I was never expecting a great deal from wvw in this game. As long as I had fun, didn’t get overly frustrated, and could compete most of the time, I was good.
Some people took fighting seriously with gvgs, coming up with the perfect builds and comps and strategy, but that time has passed and only a few of those guilds seem to be active these days. Defenders tend to take it seriously to the point of being rude to commanders of not listening, something I’ve been guilty of because I hate when people put their tags up but won’t defend upgraded stuff, why put your tag up then and pull pugs to you? There are still players serious about ppting, even when they’re behind by 30k points, which a lot of vets know by now takes a lot of overtime to overcome, so why burn yourself out.
I never got a chance to level high enough in daoc to experience rvr unfortunately, was too busy playing eq and then wow, but always heard good stories from friends about it. Came to gw2 for wvw alone, and I’ve enjoyed the majority of my time spent in it, other than the odd times of being absolutely blobbed off maps and not being able to do anything to counter it. It’s too bad that wvw or it’s population wasn’t properly maintained, an endgame with so much potential and really no competition, left to wither away.
Just better to be chill and enjoy whatever you can in wvw these days.
Make it a toilet with the sound effect and all and I vote for it.
Been waiting for them to add that to the mystic forge for quite some time.
To me wvw is indeed endgame content, just as spvp is endgame for arena pvp players, dungeons and fractals was and now raids are endgame for pve players, while wvw was for everyone. Endgame content is basically something that is repeatable and ultimately the area of the game you will spend most of your time after you’re done leveling.
Wvw obviously used daoc rvr as a template, and infused with elements from grand strategy games, capture, gather resources, upgrade, defend your areas, earn points for victory at the end of the campaign week, the political side was taken cared of by the players. With the points and glicko system they built it to basically run wvw matchups on it’s own.
Everything else though I don’t think anet had any fore thought would happen, the evolution of going from a points game, to creation of zergs/blobs fighting, to players just wanting to fight because of how good the combat system was, to forming guilds just for fights and gvg’s. Unfortunately anet never evolved with the changes. Wvw also came with it’s own problems from day one such as coverage times, which in the beginning they told players wvw is a 24/7 area, it isn’t fair, so suck it up.
All the while that happened Anet somewhat ignored wvw, part because they were busy trying to keep their pve living story dream going, part because they weren’t looking to change the systems they designed for wvw. Some work was done obviously in giving us eotm, wvw masteries, ruins, 3 tournaments, desert borderland, before they really started giving it some attention this year. A lot of missteps happened during that time, including opening free transfers to servers for a tournament.
So is there any point to wvw anymore? after 3 years I think many of us have come to the end of the line. Points mean nothing, the grand strategy part of the game is meaningless, population and coverage imbalances still exist, glicko means nothing but a border to keep servers in their own areas, thank you trump for the t4 wall, we’re only out there to find something interesting usually that ends up being just fights.
But even combat is a mess these days thanks to the new direction they decided to go with boons and conditions. Players are getting tired of what wvw was originally designed for, there’s little to no pride and glory left to fight for. No leaderboards, no possible way to make fair tournaments or seasons in current wvw to leave your mark on the world.
With all the movement of guilds and players, and now with links taking away server identities, sometimes I feel like I’m in the walking dead, all the red names are zombies looking to kill me, I only got my friends and guild as my fam to back me up, everyone else on my side today could be my enemy tomorrow looking to kill me to take my bag.
After 3 years and experiencing everything wvw has to offer, most of my guild gone to other games, my friends scattered on servers, down to looking for some interesting fights, if not then log out and rewatch videos of fights of yesteryear.
No reason to take wvw seriously anymore, just spend the time having the most fun you can while there’s population around for you to do so.
Living story 3 trailer btw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctl3QNjj4bA
“because we sacrificed so much to be able to ship that frequently” is the part that isn’t clear to me. What does Mo means with that? But reading all the other comments I realize that there is a lot more in MO’s post that can be interpreted in many ways.
I believe it means when they worked on the living story on a two week cycle, it affected development in every other part of the game, because they had to go full force on LS to maintain that pace. We have also seen what happens when they went to develop the first expansion, it basically slowed development for all other content during that time as well because all the updates were being made for the expansion.
Now they’re trying to balance that out by having a team on the expansion already, while also trying to develop other parts of the game, raids, living story, wvw improvements, a new fractal, etc.
The big mistake they made during the first season, was not setting up more of the festivals to be permanent events every year. If they had setup the foundation for that and had something running every other month, we wouldn’t be sitting here complaining about not having anything to do. It really doesn’t need to be completely new every year, just a couple new rewards and achievements to work for.
P.S
So wait.. Mike comes in here with this post and wouldn’t say the date, and yet hours later the sites put up their stories with it being the 26th, he couldn’t say that in his post? That’s the thing that’s maddening about Anets communication, it’s like something good or bad happens and you learn about it on the news, rather than someone more personal.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
shrug
He’s vague as usual so whatever he says can be taken either way. There is a point to mentioning July and taking that off, because everyone’s expectation at this point is that it will come out in July since that lines up with the quarterly scheduling.
If they expect to ship it in July, which they would know at this point, then why bother mentioning it at all? We don’t care what the name is. By saying they won’t call it the July quarterly update, he’s giving the team time in case it doesn’t make the July cut.
Actually in fact, Mo called it both the april quarterly update and spring update.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Upcoming-changes-in-Spring-Quarterly-Update/first
He did that post like 2-3 weeks before the release I believe, so hey July is still possible.
My point is though, don’t go overboard on the hype train and think it’s July for sure, stay calm and don’t riot if it doesn’t come out on the 19th or 26th.
Now we integrate the episode content with the other updates that ship in this release, and with localized text and voice-over, and we do final testing of all that.
To give a sense of the scope of this process, this update has about 1,500 distinct lines of new voice dialog, each of which must be recorded, integrated, and tested in each supported language. For the player character’s voice, we separately record each race/sex combination in each language, so that means 40 actors for each line.
Of course, we’ll give this release a name, not “July Quarterly Update”.
And we may be able to increase the pace, ramping from four bundled releases per year towards six, so we’ll move away from calling these “quarterly”.
Pay careful attention to what he says so you don’t over hype yourselves up. They still need to do the voice overs and translations. They won’t call it july cause it may not come out by july, they will move from quarterly as they try for 6 releases per year.
If anything I’m expecting it out by say hmm… “mid to end of August”, because something of something something is coming out then. Which would also look good lining up august queens pavilion, october halloween, and december wintersday, but again I wouldn’t put too much stock in that.
I still see too many that turn and run away as soon as a fight starts because the numbers aren’t in their favour- guaranteeing the fight is lost. Never understood why people are scared of having their pixels hurt, but that is one of the main reasons smaller groups could zerg bust. Zerglings see a few downed and don’t want their pixels hurt, turn and start running, support to front line lost, front line downed, zerg broken, mop up.
That in part comes down to confidence in a commander and the numbers they’re facing. If you’re following a known fight commander you’d probably stick around the entire fight, if they have their guildies around them even better, if you’re following one that’s known to ppt and get one pushed, you’re not going to stick around long are you?
Also it allows Guilds of 20 – 25 to destroy big groups of 40+ if well played. Finally Gw2 is back at a place where organized groups are rewarded vs larger numbers.
Pfft, real gvg guilds never needed to abuse boons in order to beat larger groups, it was about using the right skills at the right time and positioning, this is basically a crutch for those groups that already have the advantage in being organized over pugs, and now they get to run through all the aoe’s and cc’s they want. The bigger the group the worse it gets.
And actual gvg fights, what are they now a snooze fest of going around in circles with a melee train until someone falls asleep and forgets to push a button? Best meta for gvg’s, meanwhile the gvg scene is pretty much dead.
Not that they shouldn’t take advantage of this, abuse it as much as you can. Anet doesn’t balance for wvw, when they do they tend to “fix” multiple things at once which swings the balance from one extreme to the other. Pirate meta sucked, all melee meta boon sharing sucks, would be nice for something in between, you know like the old days when you had to have a good mix of frontline to take the damage and backline to dps for you.
Sure it’s good if you’re a melee and all you need to do is ball up and run around a train with perma protection and every boon on them. Not good for balance though, not when you have to load up a ton of boon corruption, which doesn’t even work when multiple boons get reapplied much faster and getting it spammed from skills, traits, runes.
Combat has gone to kitten ever since they decided to make it more about boons and conditions. I prefer the old days when all you had to worry about is stacking might and everything else had to be used at key times.
The dumb down boon meta. You get a boon! and you get a boon! and you get a boon! and you get a boon! everyone gets a boon!
I think Anet figured they were still big enough still for tier1 when they relinked. They also had opened TC and YB that week for transfers while t2 was locked, TC probably got some, and YB probably lost players instead. Tier2 opened last week and I’m sure DB and JQ got some transfers since, while YB will probably continue to lose players.
If the goal was to make it so that T1 NA wasn’t linked, they should have unlinked DB tonight, and tossed their link onto YB or something. Then it would have made sense.
Did you type this out while running around in your 50 man tw blob?
How about, I dunno, linked YB with one of the 4 links in t4?
Huh? don’t let that last week fool you, there’s no balance in t1 yet sorry. BG took the week off, especially the last couple days. They both want DB in kitten be their punching bag. They still came at DB with full boon sharing map blobs though, while DB is still trying to take them on with smaller separate groups. DB will get tired of that soon enough I’m sure. Push a lil harder this week JQ, you can do it!
Holy off topic necro on thread batman!
Not before they solve the population imbalance issues.
What’s the point of playing the seasons when for 10+ hours the pop of my server in the WvW maps is less than 30 players, while our enemies have multiple blobs covering at least two maps.
Starting day of the tournament: here you go BG here’s your gold trophy!
Now we all can play the season just for fun!
They can just have the shrines pull double duty for both the shrine buffs and the bloodlust buff. I know the mechanics are different for them, shrines are just capture and go, while ruins are capture but they decap if you leave the circle and that is suppose to be the difficulty in capturing them.
For the dbl they could just make it capture and hold at least 7/9 shrines(or however many) to get the buff, because of the longer distance between shrines than the ruins, and the RI from the veterans that guard it, that should make it difficult enough to try and hold 7 shrines at once.
The only real change to the map would be you hold 7 shrines you get the buff now, no need to add ruins, or rearrange shrines, or disable anything. This “should” be easy for the defending team as it should be easier to hold the earth shrines around garrison.
Also I think the middle area should be converted to a giant colosseum arena.
Not much point to a tournament if 11 of the 12 servers know they’re going to lose going in. Yeah sure maybe some players might come back (but for what? tournament tickets? lol) and of course the players guaranteed to come out are the BG hibernators.
I’d rather they start planning weekend/weekly type events to run at least once a month, just don’t screw it up like the golem event.
They’re known for doing very well then burning out after 2-3 weeks. Their OCX/SEA has never been for fights, so after weeks of fighting servers who have people in those time zones, they decide they want to take breaks and then the NA people get frustrated that they’re losing really bad and transfer away or also take breaks. Boom implosion – see ya in 3 months DB lol.
Wat?!
But…
Dragonbrand is the most stable server! – Fallen

People are getting mental ill of playing the World vs World (WvW) in Guild Wars 2 (GW2). Anet has begun to play with peoples mentality by performing their new forced server merge. This do to committed players loyalty and friends is changing all the time. And they can’t even be loyal to them self.
Since players on the 1.st server will now be forced merge with a 2nd server and after few weeks they can have the same 2.nd server as there opponent, now having to be loyal to a 3.rd server and playing against the 2.nd server they were just loyal to and friended with the week before.
Do to Anet forcing server merge on to the 1.st server with any server Anet see fit and the 1.st server don’t have any saying in this. The 1.st server can’t even be loyal to there own server, since they are forced merged with other different server’s.
What the server merge will ultimately do is to make people mentally ill. This is because the server they just were merged with the weeks before and have become loyal to (as well as friends with) is at the risk of being there opponent server the very next week.
How would a committed player feel, being thrown around like this. Whom shall the 1st server be loyal to ? Whom do they want to win ? More importantly what would prevent sabotage of either server (by joining the opponent server basically they can mess up their game on purpose)?
This is what the players are now currently exposed to in WvW in GW2. How on earth can a game developer even begin to play around with the minds of the players like this? To play around with committed peoples loyalty and feelings like that is making the players sick, because to whom lies their loyalty and what kind of loyalty does this develop in the minds of the players?
To make it worse the 1.st server can risk being forced merged with a 4.th server and they now risk being in the position to have to fight server 2.nd and 3.rd as there opponent. Again to whom lies the 1.st server’s loyalty and how do they feel as committed players on there own server ?
The irony is, that in the game you can get a title called loyal but what do you need that for, when you can’t even be loyal to yourself.
Had to format it…. it was making my eyes bleed….. You’re welcome.
Also, when you play any other game that randomly throws you into a match, for instance fps games, and you play against friends, do get mentally ill from that too?
There are many players/guilds in the game that have friends on other servers and guilds, it doesn’t make them mentally ill when they fight each other. Eventually those friends may even come together to play on one server.
Play the game, be loyal to your team, but show good sportsmanship to your friends if you go against them and save yourself from “mental illness”. Or be loyal to the other friends, sabotage your current team, whatever floats your boat.
DB always gets so close to the top then implodes 2-3 weeks later, so lets just see what happens.
They probably will if they get stuck in t1, cause a lot of their guilds are currently not built for the blobs like BG and TC has (even if some of them did come from t1 before). But seems like JQ is recovering from it’s NA plague, so that shouldn’t happen anyways.
I credit jarvan for papering BG’s BL right before OCX… was probably easy pickens for them all night.
#Dragonwagon
I credit DB’s strong community and tremendous skill for their strong showing. Only a few weeks ago, BG was beyond reach. Now both TC and DB are giving BG competition. DB is coming from Tier 2 and that is some amazing growth in skill in a short time. It is good to see TC make such an strong leap in skill over the past week also.
This shows that WvW is game were personal skill growth is still possible. Keep up the good work DB.
Not sure if serious…..
BG and TC are just buttering up DB this week, making transfers to them more appealing… then back to the peepeetea slaughter next week… cause they haven’t been trying this week that’s for sure.
kitten guys.. free agency opened on tuesday, you’re late on the offers!
