I imagine Camelot Unchained will have a great RvR experience, but it’s too bad the game looks like garbage.

The game is still in alpha… games work on systems first then graphics and ui last. You can start judging how it looks when it gets to open beta.

List of options.
Guildwars 2 – The easiest rvr game I got into and spent the most time in, with options for different roles. Combat and balance has changed too much for me to enjoy it these days.
Planetside – One of the best and fun rvr games. Not just a “shooter” since you had to level to unlock more stuff.
Warhammer online – Capture territory all the way up to enemy’s main city to ransack it, suffered from major lag.
Elder scrolls online – Didn’t play much, but huge map, need a group to enjoy.
Planetside 2 – Didn’t play much, had issues with the ui.
Dark age of camelot – Didn’t get to rvr, but it’s what wvw was based off of.
Allods – Pay to win, so only played the beta.

WvW and PvP Ascended Armor Upgrades

or the WvW players who get so many pips that they’re done in two months because they have been playing the game mode for ages – just like those who had the legendary raid armor in no time because they had half the stuff needed already.

The tickets are still time gated per week, everyone will spend the same amount of weeks acquiring the gear. The only difference is as you play more in wvw and get higher ranks, the faster you earn pips to get through the chests for the week. It still ends up being more time spent than raiding though, which is ok considering the wide range of things you do to earn pips in wvw.

As for the elitist point of view above your post. Wvw players have spent 5 years acquiring and changing gears and food as operating cost for wvw, with little rewards given in that game mode. When all pve players were doing was standing around killing world bosses in mismash gear until raids came with the expansion.

Wvw was about being organized and geared properly from day one of release, against other players not the AI. Raiding isn’t the only area where you need to change your stats and gear often, so why should raiding be the only place to get it? That part of the gear is convenience, the animated armor is the prestige part which is still raids only.

I am kind of hoping you can drop bomb or something that do not do a lot of dmg but has some effect other then simply dive bombing ppl with the fall trait.

From what i am looking at EB map red has a super advantages of the 3 side green not so much blue looks good too.

Given that red is 3rd in a matchup and usually the weakest team especially with 1u1d, I’m fine with that. Also red towers tend to get hit more often than the other two sides. On the borderlands the runs from citadel will be cut down quite a lot now.

So I bought PoF already and I am really regretting it after having read this. This is just a little too much for me. They sell GW2 as “no gear grind,” but I consistently find myself having to fix builds due to their insanely heavy-handed approach. They were so close to actual BALANCE in PvE, that I was actually getting pretty excited. I think I’m going to switch games now….

The real question I was asking is… the game isn’t out yet, how do I go about getting a refund? Do I just cancel it from the side of PayPal?

Why buy it so early? there’s still upcoming beta weekends to get previews first.

Would think people would take some lessons from the HoT launch and wait till last minute to buy it if anything, see what major changes come with it, like all the trait reworks and condition revamp with HoT, it’s not like there’s limited supply lol.

A message from the Skills and Balance Team:

Hi everyone, we have some big news today regarding item changes in an upcoming balance patch. These changes may impact which gear and consumables you want for your build, so let’s dive in and see what’s different!

CONCENTRATION AND EXPERTISE

With the release of Heart of Thorns, we added new stat combos for equipment that included Concentration and Expertise as stat replacements for Condition Duration and Boon Duration. Having both of these systems available on equipment and consumables is redundant, so in the upcoming balance update we will be converting all equipment and consumables that provide a bonus to Boon Duration or Condition Duration to use Concentration or Expertise instead. This allows players more granular control over how much benefit they receive and makes it easier to balance and scale those values across the game. Runes and Sigils are not included in these changes and will remain in their current form.

Consumables

Food buffs that provided Condition Duration and Boon Duration will now provide normalized stat values for Concentration and Expertise similar to other consumables of the appropriate levels. Level 80 food that once provided +20% Condition Duration or Boon Duration will now provide +100 Expertise or Concentration, respectively. This change should lower the power of condition-based builds overall as well as encourage support players to invest more heavily in gear to acquire the boon duration they desire.

We are making this change for a couple of reasons. First of all, condition builds received a significantly higher damage boost from using food than power builds, which made it much harder to balance them across game modes. This change will bring the impact of optimal condi food in line with optimal power food. With the use of food imparting a consistent amount of DPS for all damage-dealing builds, we are able to more easily make changes to the skills and traits themselves, especially base amounts of condition duration. That in turn makes it easier for all players to understand roughly how much benefit they will receive from consuming food.

Secondly, we wanted to clean up a number of inconsistencies with consumables in general, and the upcoming balance patch gave us the perfect window to make these changes. When we made the change to Seaweed Salad, we knew that there were a lot more things that needed attention, but the scope of the changes to consumables was too broad to get out the door at the same time.

Equipment and Upgrades

The Giver’s weapon and armor sets currently are the only stat combos that provide Condition Duration (weapons) and Boon Duration (armor). In the upcoming build, these will be converted to Expertise and Concentration as well! While this will result in a small loss in stats for the weapons, it will greatly increase the benefit of the armor once Concentration is provided in level- and rarity-appropriate values. This change not only completes the standardization of stats on gear, but also will greatly improve the armor stat combo for those looking to play in a support role.

Additionally, Snowflakes and Doubloons have been switched over to use Concentration as well. Doubloons will now grant bonuses in line with other upgrades of their level and rarity, and level 80 Snowflake upgrades will provide the same bonuses as before, now with consistent stat messaging.

CHANGES TO UTILITY CONSUMABLES

We are also taking this opportunity to standardize the way Utility buffs provide bonuses, rework the theming, and ensure that they feel unique and different from Food buffs. All Utility buffs will consistently provide stat conversion from now on. Additionally, Sharpening Stones will always benefit Power-based builds, Tuning Crystals will always benefit Condition-based builds, and Maintenance Oils have been repurposed to benefit Support builds.

As the chart at the bottom of this post reveals, we are making some pretty significant changes, and those changes warrant discussion. When we sat down to talk about consumable balance, we came away with three goals: convert %Boon/Condition Duration into Concentration / Expertise, establish consistency in the damage boost from consumables, and make Utility buffs and Food buffs feel distinctly different. So we reviewed all the different Utility buff models we had tried since the game launched, and decided that the coolest build decisions involved converting stats into other stats. After that, the data showed us that Maintenance Oils were worse than Sharpening Stones for power DPS, so we threw out their concept and repurposed them as the Utility category for support builds.

The damage boost from using the new Utility buffs will be slightly higher for Berserker builds than it was before, and somewhat weaker for Condition builds than it was before. The effects of the baseline buffs also have changed to not convert from defensive stats anymore. That effect is now on the “Magnanimous” prefix, which was introduced in Episode 5 of Living World Season 3. If you’re still interested in that conversion but don’t have the episode or don’t want to do the reward track, the Compact utilities available from Canned Food Crates in WvW will provide a reduced-effect version of the Magnanimous utilities.

Recipes

While we were going through and making changes to the function of the Utility buffs, we also took a hard look at the crafting costs associated with them and made some adjustments to bring down the costs of making Furious, Toxic, and Bountiful utility items. It should be significantly less painful to craft these items going forward, and we are hopeful that the reduced cost of entry leads many more people to experiment with new utilities they may not have considered before.

If a player wants to join wvw they join one of those servers while their old server still exist for pve purposes.

pve no longer have server. it has been so for over 3 years… what you are suggesting is no different from deleting the server because that is just more data anet has to keep that serve no purpose.

You realize people still have to pick a server when they log in for the first time? You can play with anyone at anytime in pve, but you still need somewhere to park the account. Plus servers are still taken into account in which instances you zone into and surrounded by including guild mates, friends, server mates.

What I’m suggesting is having new servers solely for wvw to create the pool of players, that gives you options on how to populate it and control the populations on them. That includes being able to drop players out of the wvw server back to their home server so you can free up space when they become inactive. This can be done without any real servers to hold those accounts, just an area to pool players, kinda like how eotm holds players to blue red green sides for a week.

Apparently my analysis on the server design is correct and likewise the issues, actually those designs and issues are common sense. Deleting and remaking worlds still the only way to go to balance servers but mehz, people want the gamemode to die instead.

You don’t even have to delete servers.

Just make a new batch of servers to restart the pool of players for wvw only.
If a player wants to join wvw they join one of those servers while their old server still exist for pve purposes. They can control the incoming population with thresholds to the new servers and put in new rules for transfers.

They could even turn this back to their idea of wanting to make smaller servers in order to create better links, or hell have a set of 9 servers be the home servers, 3 servers set for off hours ocx/sea which will be in the same matchup always but linked with different servers, and the rest be mercenary servers, pretty much what links are now.

If a player goes inactive in wvw for like 2 months then have them drop from the wvw servers pool. There’s other options than straight out destroying through deletion.

You didn’t get the point. But other than that the skill level of the players has dramatically fallen the past 2 years, so they don’t understand what ‘balance’ even is. So, I don’t blame you – just jump on the ‘NERF THIEVES’ bandwagon every chance you get – the word ‘thief’ is enough – although technically 99,9% of them are daredevils.

Sorry but it’s hard to take any thief seriously when they talk about another class’s damage, when they have the potential to be the top damage dealer and top mobile class in the game. That warriors damage didn’t look that bad to me, only one attack was over 5k the rest were mid 2k crits, I’m sure you even had time to reset the fight if needed.

Other than that yes balance has been a mess since the expansion, NO CLASS should be able to 2 shot any class, and conditions with passives along with the stat combinations have really screwed up balance. I don’t expect that will change with the next expansion.

Even when they got nerfed, the HoT specs were better than vanilla just in about every instance, I would expect PoF specs to be just just a bad.

We got nothing that could be called major content.

We didn’t even get legendary armor, with swappable stats where it’s needed the most.
We got very delayed real auto loot, and legendary back item.

We can’t earn legendary weapons in wvw either, and it’s been 5 years, why no complaints about that?

Facts are facts: This expansion has little to offer existing wvw exclusive players to fix the issues present. New specializations is all we get (and more condi, yay -.-). This expansion comes after a large portion of the player base gets busier with school. Add to that the reality that other games are being released at a similar time and we’ve got almost no incentive to buy the expansion.

If Anet wants us to shell out for 5 PvE maps (but they’re big, so apparently that makes it OK) and a new specialization for each class, they’re going to have to show us a bit more than this. Maybe eventually some will cave, but some won’t. The bleeding won’t stop.

Last expansion had little to offer wvw too compared to the pve side, so again don’t know why you all were expecting something big out of this. With HoT we got a new map which we don’t even need the expansion for, we needed the expansion for shield gens, mastery for autoloot and provisioner, elite specs which was for the entire game. Oh and I guess guild halls where we were forced to pve grind out our wvw bonuses again. Plus we had to shell out $50 for it.

Everything else wvw related in the last year was for free, and I say free because every account type has access to it. But it all very well could have been held until this expansion instead, is that what you really wanted?

Sorry to burst the bubbles, but some of you really need to ground your hope and expectations. The “one big miracle overhaul” was already broken down and delivered in pieces. The wvw team is not in charge of combat or class balance, there isn’t going to be a miracle magic patch that will turn combat to what it was before the expansion, the condition garbage and overpowered elite specs are here to stay.

I don’t think you guys quite understand the direction they are going with.

Expansions are for pve content, new pve zones, masteries, and introducing new weapons and specializations to the game. It’s their biggest base of players and they will make their money in this area of the game. It was never about releasing equal sized content for pve wvw and pvp, I don’t know where you got that idea from, it’s not “33%” complete.

Content made for PVP and WVW are released for free, when they are ready and not going to be held for an expansion, including maps if they ever develop another one for wvw, you don’t need HoT to play on the desert borderland.

The only exception is you need the HoT expansion to use the new specs in wvw, mastery for auto loot, and the shield gens, this time you will only need it for the new specs with PoF.

There is no “big overhaul” coming, parts of that already shipped, get over it already.

I have to believe that the onus is on Arenanet to fulfill that promise of new content and material. I see this shifting of responsibility on to the player base from several others as well, and I could agree with that if the player base were given the tools and knowledge to build new material, ideas and mechanics.

And why wouldn’t they shift it to the players? they keep get kitten about not listening to players and developing what they want for wvw, so now the players dictate what is developed for wvw and you want to throw that back at them?

You don’t need to know their tools and knowledge to for anything, if something needs new technology they will try to build it, like they have for all the stuff they released in the past year. Just don’t come offering insane ideas that no other game even has, or has even been attempted.

But I dont see them actively doing so on Arenanet’s part aside from the few polls we have had in the past. But I think as others have stated, they most likely made a business decision that no new content will be produced in any substantial way.

You guys are choosing to over read his comments as “hey no content for the expansion therefore we’re never making content for wvw ever!”. He simply stated what they have been doing the past year, releasing content for the competitive side of the game when it’s ready(for free mind you), and not holding anything back for the expansion.

I can’t believe I’m defending Mike here.

Perhaps what we require is either a change of game or change of Game Director to help plead our case. Currently neither the GW2 product nor the man have 20/20 vision and especially, certainly no fore-sight or knowledge into the operations of RvR (WvW aka perhaps what they affectionately refer to as PvE Player vs PvE Player).

Perhaps you should check who’s the president and current game director, it’s the one and same Mike O’Brien, so good luck going over his head to plead your case. A new director who’s been working on the expansion will be taking over soon. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-message-from-the-game-director/ It’s pretty obvious Mike doesn’t care about wvw, who knows about the new guy.

Also pretty sure what you’re playing now is what their vision is, they haven’t attempted to overhaul it in 5 years. They probably won’t in the future given how difficult it is for the wvw community to accept any change, even when they hate the current situation.

They were once talking about a big WvW overhaul, but that talk seem to have faded away. I think that was the biggest update we’ll have guys.

Parts of that has already been shipping, the only major part missing is the alliance setup.

I don’t know why you guys are reading so much into this. They said last year they were going to break updates up and release something when it’s ready to ship, not keep it together and release one big fat update, that’s the mistake they made.

If you guys are going to look at the reward update as a “minor update”, then there probably isn’t going to be an update big enough to satisfy you other than a new game.

I respectfully disagree with you. They are over looking WvW as they themselves do not have any idea where to go with it. When they take polls they poll PvE and PvP players as well. I am not sure how it would work, but only those who are WvW Veterans should get to vote on WvW Changes and vice versa. Again not sure if they can do that somehow, but it would give them a much better idea of where to go with it.

I think some of you put too much stock in pve players voting. Do people honestly think pve players give two kittens about wvw that much? The in game notices go to players who wvw, the vote thread is in the wvw section of the forums. The “pve” suggestions like mobile cannons and repair hammers have been voted down. But oh right the desert map stayed because pve players voted on that, not the wvw players that compromised and actually did want a new map and not get it outright deleted. It would have been nice for anet to continue working on that map though but oh well.

You’re right they have no idea where to go with wvw because like I said everything they bring people just cry about it and just want it deleted. But players themselves have no clue either, there are people here who only care about simple fights, bang your heads against each other for 2 hours and you’re done for the day.

There’s barely any changes they can make without population playing a factor, something we messed up and continue to mess up but complain and cry to anet to take responsibility to fix. Not that they don’t have any fault in there, but it’s like to the point where anet needs to build safety barricades around every player so they don’t keep harming the system.

For me I would change the heave condi that is the new kittenty metta, and I would put servers back to stand alone, no more linking. I have never played WvW for rewards, only for the fights. I’m up for new content, many are not. Read the threads, many of the suggestion ones are fill with just plain no’s, barely any suggestions to make a possible idea greater, just no. We have the biggest form of 24/7 feedback, the forums. Tons of suggestions have been presented and a lot have actually made it into the game, but a lot get shot down without a second thought.

Well I think getting to your statement, maybe you are playing the wrong game mode, I think the more likely answer I am coming up with nowadays is that I am playing the wrong game. But again that is personal realization I have come to slowly over time, and others feel differently, but nevertheless.

I said the only thing you can “hope” for from the expansion is a new map, because it’s something for them to make a big deal over and include with the expansion content talk, like the desert borderlands. Everything else they will release when it’s ready, not saved for the expansion, that’s all he’s saying.

Having said that I don’t think they have a new map for it anyways, not when McKenna came out and said that a new map was never promised back with the old desert voting. Why bother saying that in the forums if a map was in the works, and she doesn’t comment much in the forums in the first place.

I’m not playing the wrong game mode, I’m just not really playing anymore. The only reason I came to gw2 was for wvw, I played since release with some gaps for breaks. I sunk all that time in the game mode and don’t feel like I have much to show for it. 2300+ ranks? who cares. New chest pieces with glow wings? earned 1 not grinding 12 weeks for the other 2. New legendary back? yay another 4 months of ticket grinding. They won’t tweak the ticket system, so I just don’t care anymore.

Play the game just for fun? well I would think that’s what kept me playing all that time, but a lot of that went out the windows with the trait and skill and condition blow up of the expansion. Combat was fun for 3 years, it isn’t anymore.

People can keep coming in here and asking for new content, but the players need to actually work for that and support ideas that may seem good enough for anet to listen to and implement. It starts with the players doing a proper job of creating, supporting and building ideas. Not just no, and delete.

I was wondering, for those who read the Reddit AMA, maybe I am interpreting this incorrectly, does it sound like the next expansion will have no new WvW content?

“We shipped the big Competitive Feature Pack last month because we think that competitive updates work better as live content. We’re not holding onto PvP or WvW feature updates for the expansion. We’ll continue to ship them live.

If the competitive feature pack was the big release package for that mode, it doesnt seem very substantial or big to me at least. Maybe its this slow realization that WvW , the only reason I stay with this game is just not going to get any major updates anytime soon. And if that “major” update is a feature only update and not content, it seems really lackluster.

Not sure what else you’re expecting.

I don’t think they will “rock the boat” when it comes to any other type of updates to the game mode, because frankly this community is finicky and cry about every change good or bad. Instead of working for better changes we have people running around in here telling them to delete stuff instead.

What should they change anyways? The community can’t decide or agree on anything, there have been dozens of ideas floated out there with no real support. Mike says we now drive the mode in what we want, but we never come to a general consensus on what needs to be change, every single person has their own idea on what wvw should be, so yeah good luck getting any game play changes.

The new reward system was a big content release for wvw, and basically the final big piece of updates throughout the last year that they had planned for. If you’re expecting regular game changing updates like what pve gets, then you haven’t been paying attention to wvw development, you’re expecting too much, you’re playing the wrong mode.

The only content to maybe hope for in the expansion is a new map, everything else is shipped when it’s ready, they won’t wait for one big fat update for the expansion is what Mike was saying, which is what they probably tried to do with HoT.

Patch mid Reset night

Now you guys know the reason why they wanted to move reset nights to Saturday instead.

Although I still don’t see why any game company would want to roll out any patch late on friday, when there’s always potential for something to break and need emergency patching after, however minor it is. Diablo 3 just suffered from patching on friday and having an exploit available for the weekend.

Do it earlier in the day if possible, if it’s friday.

Maybe if they didn’t take this approach they’d have more time for the old stuff..

Sounds like they probably waste an incredible amount of time developing hit or miss stuff, instead of going for the hit stuff. Not much time to spruce up old stuff unless it’s on the side.

I’d prefer the cookie cutter balance stay in sPvP, WvW isn’t meant to be fair. Unrestricted PvP is what makes it fun.

Yeah I’m still waiting on the 50k damage skills for every class, hopefully this is addressed in the next expansion with the new elite specs.

That doesn’t excuse a skill for hitting for 15k (and there are others that can do this), I mean then you might as well just bump the damage up for everything else then.

CoR has always been a ridiculous skill because it hits hard on a very low cooldown, cooldowns use to be the balance for how hard a skill hits. That’s why meteor is on a 30s cooldown, not 4s like CoR.

“Just walk to the side and dodge!” Oh yeah easy to pick out the revenent doing CoR in a zerg or blob when a hundred other things are flying around in a furious pace, and hitting your backlines the hardest. Gee wonder why we don’t have backlines any more, better to just ball up for everything.

But in any case pointless to complain and argue about any of this, Anet doesn’t know how to and frankly doesn’t care about balance, the game is ruled by pve.

Server numbers =/= WvW numbers

They don’t do actual server accounts for population count anymore, not for like 2 years now. They constantly check wvw activity for population status, which means recently more pve and returning wvw players have been playing to get your server to full status, which is now sitting above the population threshold count they set.

If the wvw numbers keep up maybe anet can raised the population threshold.

Also most of these servers have been open for almost a year, the servers didn’t even go full until like a week into the new rewards, and now people are concerned about getting friends in?

Decayed while trying to defend a keep. Nice update 0/5 would not defend again .

Kill a player during that event grants you 10min of no decay. You seem the type of player that only chips in wvw for the rewards, not the game mode itself….

And fighting players in blob that are careful > none will die = no participation.

Stop taking it backward, Anet added rewards and only rewards, nothing else, and then nerfed some ways of playing, including legit one. What did you guys expect.

Seriously, if you can’t find a player to kill, then that’s on you, not the game and its system. I’m not one to say “get good” but at least do a couple of faceplants trying — it’s the only way to get better.

Even as a scout you don’t park yourself in a tower and wait — you get out and flip stuff; call out enemy movement; and run into people who you can kill.

The original statement was about keep defense not out in the open, and not every defensive situation works like that especially when it may be 5 defending vs 25 sieging outside.

It’s difficult to get kills off zergs until you have more numbers or they walk into an area covered by a half dozen of your siege and the players are absolutely dumb enough to keep standing in it, you’re certainly not going to dive into that to try and get a kill to keep your meter up. The only thing to get is the defense event, or hit their siege which isn’t always possible.

“get good” lol, yeah next time he should just make the scout call on the keep, then leave and go roam for a kill.

I zerg and I solo roam and I never had any problem with decay so far.

The way I understand this, flipping a mere camp gives you 20 minutes (capture = 10 min. + 5 guards (2 min ea.)). Flipping a sentry = 7 min (capture = 5 min + guard = 2 min).

You will also likely kill a few players along the way as well as accidentally participate in plenty of ongoing events you had no intention of attending because you damaged stuff or killed tower/keep npcs without capturing but get participation when capture happens.

Going by the dev comment the system is not additive and basically a maximum of 10 mins, you only get to the highest of either your current decay timer or the event timer. So kill a camp guard would bump your timer to 2 mins, you take the time to kill another guard and say your timer is now 1:50, when you kill the guard it goes back to 2 mins, when you cap the camp after it bumps it to 10 mins.

For example when you take an objective, it gives you 10 minutes before your participation will start to decay; then if you kill a guard it will only reset to 2 minutes if you have less than 2 minutes left otherwise it won’t affect the timer.

But that’s the thing, you assume you never stop fighting. However there are downtimes, say you wipe an enemy zerg at Fire Keep, and they run back. By the time they’ve come back, half your zerg is close to losing their participation. If the enemy now doesn’t commit yet, you’re screwed: People will leave the siege to try attack enemies in the crazy rush to keep their timer going.

Nevermind building siege, refreshing siege, scouting or checking keeps: Nope, no longer doing that. Need more participation.

Are you sitting in a keep for 10+ min waiting for the enemy? Seriously?

You never had a zerg take a break after a long successful cap of a keep? multiple players on bio breaks, or making sandwiches, or clearing inventory, or getting some nookie, what kind of robots you been running with?

The truth? Do you want the real actual truth?

I mean no personal offense and I don’t put this out to be derogatory, but the truth is that McKenna most likely doesn’t really care about Guild Wars 2, much less WvW.

To her, this is very likely just a job where she has deadlines and does the least possible amount of work to keep her superiors happy about the fact that she’s actually “doing stuff”, whatever the hell this entails in their minds.

There’s no passion, no motivation, no concern, to her this is probably just a boring job where she has to deal with annoyingly irrelevant people – the players – and just learn to ignore them. Well, ignore until any current outrage gets to her superiors and she’s forced to deal with for a little bit and make some minimal changes we often see a handful times a year.

It’s all about doing the absolute minimum so at the end of the day she can write it in on some report to her boss, punch out and forget about the game for a few hours, lingering with the dreadful thought of having to restart that hellish routine the next day.

I personally don’t think that at all, if you’ve been following wvw development it feels more like the wvw section is understaffed and has been for a long time, even before McKenna’s time at the helm.

Which btw may not seem like much has been done to you, but if you look the work they’ve done in the last year, it’s greater than all the work put together in the previous 4 years for wvw. Rewards tracks, skirmish mode, server links, various ui upgrades like structure tooltips and warscore, simple nameplates, team chat, skirmish rewards of ascended gear, wvw earned skins, legendary back piece, more HoT rewards in wvw, 5min ticks for faster rewards, beta test of repair hammers and mobile cannons, 2abl 1dbl, fixes/improvements to all maps, new commander tag colors, improvements to population calculations, changes to outnumbered buff like war score, changes to down state rallies, bankers added, structure capture warscore, mass superior siege recipes, conditions affecting siege, switching supply and magic find guild objective auras, the one villager that flees from their home being destroyed in red ebg side, etc.

I don’t agree with every change, and they may not all be the best solutions, I’ll give anet a ton of kitten like the next person for their neglect. But if you want to kitten in someone’s cereal for the wvw mess, then blame Mike O’Brien for not giving two kittens about wvw and not putting the proper resources behind it for 5 years. WvW probably has no major direction for change right now, and that rests squarely on the head huncho, who’s currently holding the top two positions for development and direction of the game. It’s a miracle McKenna and team got that much done in the last year.

For the next wvw event week I think it would be interesting if every character in wvw had one life. You die in wvw on that character and you’re locked out of WvW for the rest of the week on that toon.

It would make for an interesting week.

Interesting as in seeing what an old t8 matchup with no players would look like these days? or interesting to see everyone holed up in a structure firing acs at anyone passing by?

I think players should get a stacking -1% movement speed off their base movement speed for every death, until they reach a minimum of 1% base movement speed. We very well couldn’t drop this 0% and root people in place, now that would suck wouldn’t it.

That should be much more tactical, and it would help give some extra time to those walking back from spawn to, as a great commander once put it – “think about what they did wrong”. The stack would reset with the daily timer. Of course we aren’t savages, swiftness boon will not count under in this penalty, boon sharing is caring. :P

Just finished my sublime chest piece, won’t be pursuing other rewards for now, getting tired of combat and the cruddy balance again and the game mode and the server I’m on. Was getting 5-7 pips depending on skirmish placement, got around 235 ranks with celebration booster on most of the time and the other exp booster about 50% of the time. I feel bad for the lower rank players who can’t even get the max tickets every week.

I’ve stated before there are a lot of gates to the system, and need to adjust some things. I don’t think it would be bad for an average of 2 hours a day which is the average raid time for guilds, or 14 hours a week to earn the full tickets, which is probably only achievable by most players right now if they’re playing on outnumbered maps to get the extra 5 pips.

I certainly don’t think it should require over 20 hours of playing every week to earn the max tickets, does the pve raiding section even require that? and you’re earning legendary armor over there. There’s a cap of 175 tickets per week anyways, so why does the time input need to be basically a second job?

There’s a minimum of 4 months of ticket gathering required for the back piece.
There’s a minimum of 3-6 weeks of ticket gathering required for each t3 armor piece, but you really only need to get the chest and legs for the effects.
It would take you 1-2 weeks of tickets per piece to get the t2 triumphant if you’re after ascended only and have gold for the crafting part.
Minimum of ranks 1500-2000 to get t3 of the armor.

They should have evened out the tickets for every chest and not back load the chests. 7×25 not 10-15-20-25-30-35-40, and tickets per rank of chest not only on the last rank.
Pips per rank can be adjusted, 10k rank shouldn’t be getting a pip on it’s own.

  • Outnumbered is now applied each scoring tick (every 5 minutes). Swapping to a map right before a tick will no longer grant an Outnumbered pip bonus. Instead, you must play on an Outnumbered map for an entire tick to earn the bonus.
  • Participation decay timers have been adjusted so that players must be more active to keep participation from decaying.
