Fixes to outnumbered and participation for pips.

World vs. World
General

  • Outnumbered is now applied each scoring tick (every 5 minutes). Swapping to a map right before a tick will no longer grant an Outnumbered pip bonus. Instead, you must play on an Outnumbered map for an entire tick to earn the bonus.
  • Consume All now works for Badges of Honor.
  • The Skirmish Chest now opens a vendor window instead of an item-selection window. This will allow multiple items to be selected from the chest.
  • Participation decay timers have been adjusted so that players must be more active to keep participation from decaying.
  • Three new commander icon colors have been added: cyan, magenta, and white.

No tactical importance of towers on Desert BL

The barriers were supposed to be a hindrance. It would have been better if they were walls as they would not have been ‘porous’ and would have been consistent in their job across classes, but oh well.

Your hyperbolic complaints about them belie their effectiveness.

A hindrance/annoyance to roamers or small groups, but not to zergs, and the point of the map was to break up or hinder those bigger groups.

People are to use to the EBG and AB one level thinking. That is the huge flaw with those BL’s. On the DBL, then southern towers are staging towers for attacks on Air and Five Keeps. Same can be said for northern towers. They are all key for controlling supply camps, which would choke the Major Keeps.

People need to think more strategically.

Do you like, take your group to the towers and go through a hour long strategic meeting of the upcoming siege of the nearby keep?

No tactical importance of towers on Desert BL

If you remember, the south towers on dbl were originally the waypointed structures for there, not the side keeps, they were suppose to be the quick port to access the middle part of the map especially when the cannon event was up. North towers never had any real purpose (even with the barriers), other than trying to avoid the stupid earth crap around garrison.

There nothing wrong with a given class excelling in a certain area such as roaming and nothing wrong with that ability to roam being tied to superior mobility. This “bring them back down to everyone elses level” meme is just code speak to normalizing all classes so they play the same. It leads to sterile type gameplay.

Ok, well, they excel at roaming so well that less players are roaming on other classes, it gets even cheesier when they start to run in packs. There’s a reason the roaming scene has been dying off, why players feel the need to run in packs or zergs these days. roaming isn’t fun especially against thieves.

Yup, they really should have made cleanses more of an individual use than aoe blasting.

It would seem unfair to be able to AoE spam condis but not be able to AoE cleanse them. It would also make a really boring meta where everyone is forced to run full condi cleanse. Condi, resistance and cleanse are fine as they are.

Yeah but just think about it, if they had designed it as such from the beginning maybe they wouldn’t have had to design conditions to be more spammy in general to be effective enough to be on par with power specs. A lot of specs already have to dedicate multiple skills and traits or sigils in helping cleanse conditions for small group roaming scenarios. The problems with conditions is the effectiveness in different sized groups, as the group gets bigger the less likely you personally need to run as much cleanse and even resistance also becomes more available.

Like I mentioned, all they’ve done is add layers to one up the previous layer to combat and not really balanced the problem.

P.S the current meta isn’t fun to me.

Remove WvW Linking - Give Us Back Our Servers

If they break links, are people going to come back in here to complain about how about their low server populations and how links destroyed their servers?, even though they were well on that way at the time of links. Because if they break links not one person should come in here to complain about populations again.

Linkings did destroy more than half the server though…
If anet ever does unlink those servers they will be a ghost town pretty much…

Most of those servers were already well on the way to being destroyed as ghost towns after HoT was released, with the combination of HoT upgrades and desert borderland destroying wvw population for 6 months.

Let’s not kid ourselves here, most of those servers would be absolutely dead right now.

Players weren’t moving to the bottom servers very much before, nothing else than links in the last year would have changed that, other than the few players wanting to play wvw like it’s a spvp game of 5v5. Maybe the new rewards? let’s see how that goes 4 months down the line when players start getting the legendary back piece, how many are going to stick around after that.

P.S I don’t speak for eu servers. The complaints about links from there tend to ignore language barriers problems with links, so anet should just do the same and unlink them all, and let the population chips falls wherever.

Condition damage in large fights does not work because groups have too many AoE cleanses and shared Resistance. Conditions only work in small scale fights. I would like to see power, condition and hybrid viable choices for both fights.

Yup, they really should have made cleanses more of an individual use than aoe blasting.

But all they did was just add on more layers to make the system bloated, aoe condition cleanse existed from the beginning, so they up the condition damage and stacks to make it on par with power builds without really balancing individual cleanses, added even more conditions and applications, then had to add resistance to help balance it, but then boon sharing took over, and even more boon corruption was needed, then boon sharing was nerfed, and corruption got out of hand which needed a nerf too, and added blasting light fields to aoe cleanse.

Still a stupid amount of critical damage coming from the other side on some classes too these days. I just really liked the ole simple power build with conditions on the side for extra pressure.

Do we really need more conditions and untouchable ones at that? Certainly not, because then we’ll need the superduperultra resistance boon to counter that.

They drop from npcs.
They’re not super rare precursor type drops.
You only need one.
I’m sure they will get one in the four months needed for the legendary anyways.
Just keep playing and killing npcs.

New wvw map for expansion?

The “noisy minority” in this game mode is people who claim to advocate “GvG.” DBL is a great map, and the community voted for it to return, the “no major updates” was referring to no new maps. So if people truly wanted it to stay ABL, they would not have voted for DBL to come back. Seems the majority of the players enjoy the change of new maps.

What people on these forums don’t realize is – the forums are the vocal minority. I would be surprised if any more than 10% of the player base visits the forums.

Don’t think everyone voted it in so they can play on it, but to keep it in the game for variety and to support those that did want to play it, or even to keep the rotation from happening.

My preference is ABL 100%, but I voted to keep dbl around, and I prefer it around as one bl than all three for 2-6 months or however long they were planning to set that rotation. I wouldn’t mind another map whether that’s bl or ebg, at this point they might as well do another bl to get the 3 different ones. But it better not have the ground hindering annoyances the dbl still has today, and the strategic placement of structures should be given a lot more thought. After that it should only be ebg type maps, even just updating the art on ebg would be a nice change.

Go read the thread bigpapasmurf, sounds like you’re trying to get a win over me or something lol.

Chaba wanted to know what Anet was going to do with links since it was expected that populations would go up. So what did they want to do if not lose their link to help FA queues? relink with the lowest server? even though it was expected every single server would get an increase in population? (nevermind there are 5 other single link servers that could warrant them getting the lowest first like YB). Did they think somehow that would fix their queue problem?

I stated that we would need to to wait and see what actions they need to do, because anet would probably need weeks of data to do the appropriate action. Whether that was to adjust links, or map caps since some servers don’t even have links, or even pop caps if a server was full but not really getting queues as much. We all really had no idea how much of a difference the changes would make, how many players would actually play, or how many would actually stick around, not even Anet would know that from just that week.

Now Chaba has changed their tune, they “don’t pretend to know what the best solution is without access to actual data”. Then why did you put up a thread about changing links? and then arguing with me about them needing to collect data to make the appropriate move?

My question hasn’t been answered yet, is FA still experiencing 4 queue nights other than reset? (oh hell you know what I’ll just log into my alt account there and see for myself over the next week). Being full doesn’t mean you experience 4 queues a night, Mag has been full a while and they don’t experience 4 map queues a night, just EBG. Chaba panicked about queues, I’m sure they all want links now because FA losing theirs would probably mean them dropping to T4.

Anet didn’t need to do a knee jerk reaction to the spike in population, when three weeks later it looks like it’s calmed down. Guess what the best solution was? ride it out and three weeks later get proper links redone tomorrow.

Please don’t put words in my mouth. I never said nor implied anything of the sort.

I suspect you are misrepresenting an earlier post of mine asking only for Anet to reevaluate links right after the June 6th patch.

And you were complaining about queues, FA is locked, what else would you want them to do for FA if not take away the link? That’s the only thing that will clear up your queues.

Btw I stated we just needed to ride things out 3 weeks ago, so is FA still dealing with 4 map queues other than reset, or has the population numbers gone back to normal? For Mag it’s business as usual with only ebg queued on most nights and maybe another map every other day.

Is that anything like “Lock Ground Target at Maximum Skill Range” in options? I probably misunderstood.

That works for ground targeting spells, doesn’t for target stuff, which you have to rely on having a target to see if they are in range or not. Some games have an actual targeting indicator on the ground in front of you at all times, which would be useful. Would just be nice to have better indicators for range on your target.

You really want more stealth in the game? The most broken mechanic in the game for pvp, you sure you want more classes with it?

lol broken in pvp thats funny, being in stealth doesn’t contribute to contesting a point and remember its conquest not deathmatch but a guess someone who doesn’t know how to play pvp in gw2 would say that also dont forget all the reveals in the game now.

if anything is broken its the amount of invulnerability in the game to counter the power creep HoT brought. I also think the amount of invulnerabilities are the reason ESL dropped GW2 because it was bunker builds sitting on point and it was boring as kitten to watch.

There’s more than one pvp area in this game rolls eyes I guess you didn’t know that huh rolls eyes again
No point having ESL when all the pros left the game.

Having said that I would like a class/elite that is musically inclined. Say oh I don’t know a “bard” or something. Instead of shouts they could sing or play a musical instrument..

I’ll +1 the bard! As long as it didn’t have the RSI-inducing mechanic of the EQ1 version – a four song twist, kiting 1/2 dozen Hill Giants whilst running around in circles in Rathe Mountains was… quite tiring really. Good plat farming though.

And we already have instruments in GW2 so I (perhaps naively) think it wouldn’t be too massive a jump. You could, thinking about it further, have an “attunemant” like the ele – attune to drum, attune to lute etc.

But trust me on the twisting.

I +1 for bard too, which would have to use focus (guess why :P ) but that rules out a lot of classes, or warhorn for it’s weapon which only leaves mesmer for an elite spec if warhorn, otherwise would have to make a brand new class. Could attach it to revenant as a legendary stance for facet type skills, but the way I see a bard should be is basically what the legendary dragon stance is already like, without having to spam twist the skills to maintain the buffs like eq1 lol.

More reason to doubleteam the #1? Greaaat idea.

What? It’s the way the game is supposed to be played so there’s a rotation of the #1 spot, which engages the playerbase.

The game isnt supposed to be played to double team the number1 server all day,where do you even get that idea from ?

3 teams.. there’s always a double team going on, that’s the whole reason for 3 teams in the first place instead of 2. But the way it’s been implemented in gw2 was pretty stupid as all they did was made it easier for winning teams to stomp on lower teams, hi stacked server, and even encouraged 1st and 2nd to beat on 3rd for points.

You think top servers are suppose to have no pressure and just roll their opponents? well congratulations, that’s what’s happened in wvw from day one because there’s no reason for 2nd or 3rd to go after 1st, and population numbers and coverage imbalances made it worse. It’s like some of you just want 4 maps to ktrain to yourselves all day long.

We don’t need to vote on unlinking, just don’t give FA a link next time as its seems from multiple sources not to want one.

SMC is fine, leave it alone.

Desert bl would probably require too much effort and time to rearrange structures, time they could be using on another new borderland map.

Don’t cut down skirmish tickets needed, do an equal balance the amount you get from every chest instead of back loading more than half into the last chests.

Every commander tag should have it’s own shape for each color, and sides should have have their own shapes as well not just enemy shown as triangles.

Bring back quaggans for what?

Put in chat suppression for chat spammers.

Wvw team has no control over pve skill balancing or elite specs.

1up, 1down question

Haven’t seen this addressed, yet….maybe it already has, and my apologies if so…..

I understand how the new 1up, 1down sytem is supposed to work for the matchups…..

But, how will it work for the pairings? Currently, Kaineng is grouped with TC and GoM.
Say Kaineng has a really bad week…..would we then get grouped with a lower server due to the 1up, 1down?

Just curious, as I could see some potential problems with this in the groupings.

Don’t know how you came up with this line of thought.

Links puts servers together as one group, there is no individual server performance check. If Tarnished Coast+Kaineng+Gate of Madness lose a matchup they move down, unless they’re in t4. Links will continue on their 2 month schedule.

PIPs acquisition have to be revised

I think they should make one change with the rank pips.
Currently it’s:
+1 Bronze WvW Rank (150-619)
+2 Silver WvW Rank (620-1394)
+3 Gold WvW Rank (1395-2544)
+4 Platinum WvW Rank (2545-4094)
+5 Mithril WvW Rank (4095-6444)
+6 Diamond WvW Rank (6445-9999)
+7 Max WvW Rank (10000)

I don’t see why 10k rank should get a pip on it’s own, since there’s very few of them and most of them got it through ktraining in eotm, so why be rewarded for that? I think they should remove that rank, make a new rank below and bump all the others up a pip.

Commander pip, don’t agree with it being squad too, that will only promote spamming invitation to squads and you’ll end up with squads with people all over the map, not really having to play together, or even be on the commander to earn the extra pip, it would be the lazy pip instead. If people want that extra pip then tag up and convince 5 people to stick with you.

The skirmish pips, sure I guess, but might just promote more hardcore ktrain captures to gain warscore though.

Outnumbered pip, 5 might be high, 3 might be better, hmm, don’t care that much, the purpose of the pip was to attract players onto that map, and then when the outnumbered was done maybe some would stay on that map.

At the end of the day I don’t think it’s a bad thing to give away more pips, because tickets are capped at 175 per week anyways, the last chest is repeatable with no tickets. They already have 3 major roadblocks to the system, minimum ranks for back piece and t3 gear, 175 tickets per week, pips easier for vets harder on newbs.

No one wants to play this like a second job, “but you can just relax and just play you’ll get it eventually!”, except that only a certain amount of tickets are given each week, and the bulk of tickets are at second half of chest (ticket balance per chest is another thing they need to change). So yes players feel with their already limited time for the game also feel limited in the tickets they can gain per week, that’s why we have players asking why they can’t they finish the entire track on their own time and why it’s resetting every week, punishing them even more for missing the bulk of tickets at the end.

It’s already 6 months for one gear set, and 4 months minimum for the back piece if you get full tickets every week. It will take you 22 months minimum to finish the 3 armor classes and back piece if you want the skins, oh and about 10 months to finish the weapons, so about 2.5 years to finish the entire collection. Tickets are already the biggest gate for the system, we don’t need to worry about giving away too much pips.

commanders kicking Rangers and Thief

Seriously just play a dragonhunter, you get access to long range, stability support, heal support, cleanse support, shield support, traps, pulls, invulnerability, options to play front mid or back line, no pet unless you take spirit weapons lol. The only reason to keep a ranger in a squad is if they’re a druid and they were good at the spec, which coming from ranger based class, well.. I think you get the picture.

Wvw is about team support, some classes are much better at team support, some aren’t, people want the team classes, play one or not, but don’t expect not to be kicked playing the least group friendly classes. Blame Anet for the increased power in elite specs for the gren classes, blame them for making combat amped up so much with conditions and damage that players are forced to tightly rely on those group classes that pump out boons cleanses heals corruption over everything else.

Lastly if you want a group to just accept you for what you play, then join a guild and run with them. Commanders can kick whomever they want, it’s their squad, make your own or join another if you disagree with them.

When Does One Up One Down Start?

When you move you are penalized by not being able to earn pips until you’ve been on the server one entire matchup, which breaks the cycle of the commitment pip requirement of 100 pips the previous week.

yes you cannot earn pips after transer, but you can make wood before you transfer on your old server (Fri-Thu), transfer friday afternoon and be ready on the new server for the new match. So no break.

Do you know of players who have moved last week and earning loyalty pips this week?

As they have stated, you have to be on the new server for an entire full matchup week. So technically if you earn wood chest on that week on the old server, it means nothing the next week because you don’t earn any pips at all for the move, and since you don’t earn the minimum pips that week it breaks the cycle.

Someone can correct me on this if they moved last week and it doesn’t work like what’s stated in the patch notes, as anet’s notes have been kinda shotty.

  • Pips cannot be earned if you have recently transferred or if you do not have enough participation.
  • You must play on a world for an entire match in order to be eligible for earning pips.

When Does One Up One Down Start?

loyality pip is gone yesterday.
Now we have a Commitment pip, that requires “completing wood division the previous week”.
Unfortunately release notes are a bit lazy here, wood division on the same server or any server? I fear any server.

When you move you are penalized by not being able to earn pips until you’ve been on the server one entire matchup, which breaks the cycle of the commitment pip requirement of 100 pips the previous week.

Then once you’ve earned 100 pips with your current server you will start to earn the commitment pip the follow week, so essentially you wait 2 weeks to get it when you move.

Due the population imbalances we will see lopsided biweekly repeated matchups. “Oh it’s an even week. I don’t think I will even bother to play. See you all next week.”

You’re making the assumption that server populations remain constant…any changes could push a different server up or down as a result.

There is still no migration control beyond setting a server full, transfer gem costs, and recently the loyalty pips. Stacking has happened and nothing’s been done to rebalance the server populations.

Server population size evolution is slow or stagnant, if not considering bandwagon transfers to/from a server. There is no mechanism that would gradually increase population on low tiers closing the gap to top tiers. Quite the opposite: players are transferring more up than down.

For NA I think it’s been different since T1 broke down, the trend seemed to be a lot of guilds have moved down to mid tier servers in the last 6 months. I don’t think anyone is interested in creating T1 super servers anymore to compete with BG, other than JQ maybe.

EU has it’s own problems with the language server limitations, both in transfers and linking. At least now if any servers start a bandwagon they should be moving up every week until they hit their rightful spot, and not randomly wait to get up there by glicko fluke rolls.

Having it as an infusion would have been better, don’t really like the skin for the chest pieces either. Don’t mind the octopus legs, they seem to be a unique effect in the game? why would you want it to look like something else already in the game.

But as I said earlier, “GvG” guilds would rather be taking up spots in the borderlands, where they can steamroll less organized pug zergs to make their epeins wiggle, than to use resources already available to them to have fair zerg battles with other guilds.

Something something something yes they use it when a gvg has been planned and they expect to be there a while. Most gvg’s that happen on borderlands are random skirmishes, they butt heads a couple times in the map and then maybe ask to take it to south for a couple rounds.

I’ve had my fair share of problems with gvg guilds ruining homebl, but you don’t really have to worry as much, since like I said not much of them around these days anyways.

Isnt Guild Halls the area where ppl can do 20v20 GvG (or whatever numbers) , and if that fanbased event have enought of viewers they can official support it?

Have ppl tried since the x-pack was realeased ?

Cant be too dificult for 10 teams (x20 members) to c horde materials into that single Guild Hall and fully upgrade it to tier 3 in a single week ?

The guild hall arena isn’t big enough, Anet had been told this multiple times even in beta that it wasn’t big enough, to the point that they said they would work on a bigger arena later which has never happened.

They needed to just design a mega server zone that has a huge colosseum. Let that be the wvw lobby, like heart of the mist which is under megaserver and just got it’s own free for all arena. I say needed, because there isn’t that many gvg guilds left at this point.

You guys realize that 11 out of the 12 main servers are currently full right? You’re facing 2 of the bigger servers from t1/2, it’s a bad matchup, 1u1d is coming and you shouldn’t get a match like that again.

If you don’t know of guilds coming to the server, then why sweat it being closed. Guilds will most likely wait until next matchup to move anyways. Servers will probably start to open in the next couple weeks as some of the pve players leave and the algorithm adjust for it.

Some servers i will not call, will remain ‘bandwagoned’, and remain the problem that plagues wvw. You can only balance a lower server against them to fill the bracket, and the lower server is screwed. And weirdly these ‘bandwagon’ servers often get a link when they don’t deserve it. Bandwagon servers should have a transfer lock (not just expensive) and a link disabled (not possible). As long as that doesn’t happen. Nothing will change.

Which servers are those?
Don’t think there’s been bandwagons lately, just some guilds moving around as usual. Bandwagon is technically people piling onto a server and moving it up in ranks, who’s done that lately? Unless it’s EU servers, in which case they have problems because of language specific servers, not much can be done there.

If you care at all about this mode you will give it your FULL support!
This is the real wvsw update we have waited years for (not me tho, i WOULDN’T wait years lol). The pip thing….the beta pairings…those all fail in comparison to this change.

Anet literally threatened to install the glicko back if you don’t behave. So plz behave and give it ur full support. There will likely be some horrid weeks at the start, but that is just the leftover gunk from the glicko being burned out of the system. Look to the future and stay supportive.

Dunno why they would make it live NOW…we are getting new pairing on friday no? And they literally said that when new pairings are made the glicko will reaffirm who is vs who and 1up1down won’t matter till after the fact…..but whatever!

It would be the appropriate time to do the change if we are getting new links on friday, as it would need a couple weeks to adjust new server pairs to appropriate ranks, any other time would be a waste.

1 up / 1 down matchmaking:

  • Starting this Friday at reset, WvW will begin doing 1 up / 1 down matchmaking. This means a single, third-placing world will move down one tier and a single, first-placing world will move up one tier. If there is a tie for last, no world moves down, which also means no world in the tier below can move up (as there’s no room). Similarly, if there is a tie for first, no world moves up, which prevents the next tier up’s last-place world from moving down. If there is a change in which worlds are being used for matchmaking purposes (such as when world links change), matchmaking falls back on the usual Glicko rating sort (plus a potential deviation-based shuffle). Even while 1 up / 1 down is active, Glicko data will continue to be updated as it has been when each week’s round ends. This way it is always current when it needs to be relied upon.
  • This is a new test to try to improve how quickly worlds can move into their proper place.
  • We can revert back to Glicko if it is determined that the new matchup style is more harmful than helpful.

Which means if you try to exploit the system by tanking, they will yank the system out, so don’t be idiots.

oh ic, so a server hit a queue on reset, but its outmaned for most time of the days, must be a full server.

So if a guild wants to tranfers to a server that is always empty until late hours they cant…

There’s queues on every server at reset, it happens in the middle of the NA eastern primetime, everyone is playing. NSP is facing two bigger overall servers this week, which is why you’re probably outnumbered often, doesn’t mean your server activity isn’t over the population threshold that triggers closing a server.

You have guilds that all of a sudden want to transfer in now when the server is closed other than the entire last year it was open for?

Relax, enjoy the pip bonus.

Because they check by overall population activity over a period of time, not by time zones.

P.S Also expected more full servers since pve players have also been playing since the rewards came in, thus more wvw activity last couple weeks, but servers could start to opening up soon as first wave pve players start leaving when they realize the time to get the rewards are a bit much for them.

Mag tactics

Let’s be real and honest here, roaming has been garbage on all servers, if it isn’t the thief gank squad it’s the condi cancer, this isn’t limited to one server. If you want to complain about mag you might want to first look at your own specs, since even on reset night when every map is queued on every server, and the two servers they are facing were still rolling over in one pushes except for like BMO. It’s demoralizing when your organized pug zergs can’t even stand up for 30s in a fight, that’s why people leave.

As for Dragonhunters, they’re a well rounded class coming from guardians, it’s better to pewpew with dragonhunter without a pet, than a ranger with a pet, and since a lot of mag commanders hate rangers not surprising there’s more dragonhunters. When you get pulled and get stuck in something that’s not the dragonhunter trying to exploit the pull, that’s them trying to get you before you get out of sight, but it fires off late and pulls you into something to get stuck. That’s a problem with the game.

Loyalty Bonus

How does this work with linked servers? I’m on SOR and we get matched up with various larger servers. Currently I’m with henge if Denravi I but if that switches do I lose my loyalty bonus?

As stated already, it’s not really a loyalty bonus (which they will probably change the name and description next patch), but more of a activity check, you have to earn 100 pips every week at minimum for 3 weeks in a row (it’s being changed to 1 week tomorrows patch).

When you move servers, not links, you are unable to earn pips until you’ve been on the new server for an entire matchup, which breaks the activity check of earning 100 pips and resets the bonus.
After the patch it should go
1. You move, miss an entire week of pips as the penalty.
2. Earn 100 pips the week after.
3. Earn the 1 extra pip per tick the week after.

WvW Vet's Thoughts on Rewards

I agree with the original poster. I have way more badges (64k+) and about 9.4k proofs and well over 10 million karma and I haven’t even been doing EotM, just regular WvWVW. I have already 5 characters with full ascended sets. I could easily equip 3 other characters with full ascended set as I got the ascended materials, armor/weapon chests for that, but I am too lazy to bother. I think most players play max 4-6 characters regularly and the rest of the alts gets fairly little play.

Karma, Badges and proofs of heroics have become more or less useless. I guess I will at some point be sitting with 20+ million karma, 100k+ badges, 20k proofs….

Arenanet please give us useful stuff to buy with the badges, proofs and karma!! Also laurels have become quite useless, I got 1200 laurels despite already putting all the infusions I managed to do without fractals.

Buy these with karma, wait until frostgorge has vial of powerful blood and charged lodestones for map rewards, get a ton of them.

Badges became obsolete the day eotm arrived, same with karma being useless when they decided to move to ascended and individual map currency. There are ways to convert them to gold, but that depends on how much time you want to spend on that.

Too many pve players showed up, you need to fix this mess. A lot of WvW guilds can’t move to BLs because everything is queued now. What’s the point of having a WvW guild when people are stuck all over the BLs? Spent and hour and 30 minutes in queue last friday just to get in a map. Fix your mess !!!

You mean on reset? when there’s always a queue and always a long wait time.

Don’t worry relinks probably at the end of the month.

Currently
Rate of acquisition is 175 tickets per week.
Wood Final tier. (10)
Bronze Final tier. (15)
Silver Final tier. (20)
Gold Final tier. (25)
Platinum Final tier. (30)
Mithril Final tier. (35)
Diamond Final tier. (40)
25 is the average per chest , with the bulk of the tickets placed in the second half of chests.

Suggestion

  • I propose that the tickets for each chest be evened out to 25 for all chest instead.
  • That tickets are given for each rank of chest. For wood/bronze chest the ranks would give 5-5-5-10, silver/gold/platinum 5-5-5-5-5, mithril/diamond 5-0-5-0-5-10.
  • I propose the repeatable diamond chest hands out 1 ticket every time it’s completed.

The purpose of these changes would be to make it friendlier for players who don’t have the time to earn all tickets for the week. Even if they earn mid rank of a chest they still get something for it rather than having to wait for the last rank. The main wvw players who spend a lot of time in wvw are going to get their 175 in any case.

Suggestion

  • The +7 for max 10k ranks probably benefits very few players, I would be shocked if there were more than a dozen players who have made it that far, and all most likely from eotm. I would take this point and place it at a new rank wvw(50-149) and move all ranks up another point. Same amount of points in the system but starts earlier.
  • The outnumbered bonus is nice, and helps those truly in bad situations with their server, but there’s also room to abuse gaining these extra points. I think a point or two should be shifted from this over to the loyalty bonus instead, in which more players will earn this in general.
  • Would like to see eotm count for pips, but only a maximum of 1 pip, no matter how many other pips they qualify for (so if they qualify for pips from rank and commanding they still would only get 1 pip max). Right now servers are experiencing queues again, and the one map created to help with the queues doesn’t even help those players stuck waiting in line to get on the main wvw maps. Most players would probably rather sit in lion’s arch afk waiting. I would also suggest raising the minimum participation level to 5 in this case to counter afk pip farming.

They should probably put 1 pip as a baseline maximum to earn in eotm, so that people who can’t get on maps due to queues can at least have a reason to go to eotm. But also up the participation level required to like 5 instead of 3 to kill afkers faster, since it’s a ktrain in there usually, 5 should be easy to maintain.

So I have a question if anyone has figured it out yet, or Anet can explain.

On the Skirmish vendor, for tier 2 armor there is ascended and exotic Triumphant Hero armor. Both named the same and both costing the same tickets and wvw mats, the ascended has marks and gold as extra.

Can they both be used to unlock tier 3? Or only the ascended version? It’s not made clear but I really don’t see a point for the exotic version of tier 2 if not, since tier 1 is also exotic.
