If you find one other person you can have one of you die (without getting hit by stones) and the other complete while you are outside the arena. Then switch with that other person after the dragon is dead and you use the mote to re-start the battle.

I agree that the underwater breather should use the stats you have on land, not needing another headpiece with hopefully adequate stats and buying another rune.
Love underwater combat, shame others don’t, can absolutely be improved though.

For first time leveling I would not stress how long it takes. Even after that it is not long even taking the long way around. First character I had it took me a couple of months, was not worried. I bought a new account during one of the $10 sales and took the long way around (no crafting a couple of story dungeons) and it took me about 20 hours spread over 2 weeks.

Has been a hope of mine for a while now. Still don’t think it is cost effective or data efficient (need to go from game server to translate server and back) to be worth while yet. As I said though there is always hope.

I had this happen (because I was having a hard time getting Mastery Points), and every time I killed a mob, the “hey you have an unlocked mastery line!” popped up. Any time I got XP I had to stop and close that dialog. Ugh.

No progress was made toward the next unlock in the line. Until you find those mastery points to do the second part of the unlock, or switch to a different mastery line, you XP is not being applied to mastery progress.

That is to bad, I am sure a lot of people are either going to forget or not have points and forget to transfer to a new mastery line.

So my beta suggestion is to either have an overflow or a mastery switch system built in.

Imo a big difference between the HoT areas and the Silverwastes/Southsun is related to the terrain. In Southsun/Silverwastes I can solo run through there as there is enough room to maneuver or avoid mobs, especially in a fight, without involving other groups of mobs. With the HoT, there will be a number of hard hitting mobs in a narrow lane that I can’t skirt around and if I try to fight, I get in range of more mobs or come up against a wall or drop off. It means a constant need to hack my way through a seemingly endless series of trash mobs that can’t be avoided while I’m trying to get to the fun stuff, the events. It’s not challenging so much as it’s tiring.

Gliding.

Doesn’t work all that great when you’re going uphill, or on the same level for that matter.

going uphill turn around and jump, you are not affected by damage enough so that you are knocked out of the air (yet). Have not found a lot of flat ground so while it is a problem it is not a huge one.

If I’m making my way to an ongoing event uphill from me, how in the world does turning around and jumping get me where I want to go? Or did you not even bother to read the post?

I am not trying to argue, I am giving advice. Turning around and gliding will take you out of combat. Since I have found that there are usually a couple of ways to get anywhere. This could be more convenient than bashing through a wall of mobs. Also these maps need to be thought in 3D. I think though people are going to have similar issues as underwater combat and not think in all available directions.

The mobs are new, they will take getting used to. If you can move through Orr, Silverwastes or Dry Top you can after you take a breath move through the new zones as well.
Events are bugged and also unknown, thinking it should be easy because there are other people there could be a problem.

Moon Sun symbol would be great, dark while I don’t mind I have never seen it work in other games. Closest was Moria in LOTRO and I personally wanted to remove the lantern you turn on since it made it harder to see not easier. They then made the entire area lighter since people complained about the dark. Same thing would happen here.

The file is going to be the same whether you bought the expansion or not. It is the same file, just like a huge amount of other programs that unlock aspect depending on what you bought but don’t re-download a different program based on what you have or have not paid.

If you top out a mastery does advancement stop until you spend a point or does it not? I did not notice when I advanced if the next bar was filling or not. If anyone took note of this I would appreciate the answer.

First, really beautiful area.

Bugs, gone into detail in other posts so I won’t mention the major ones.

Tyria old world mastery system not sure if it is active but you can progress them in silverwastes before you continue the story. Ran out of mastery points to trigger advancement and unsure if they are the same for both areas so can’t say much about this.

I can see it being a zoo for a month or so after release with the addition of event completion materials. A few maps are going to get a lot of traffic and several items are going to go down in price, all good in my opinion.

New professions look and feel good for the most part, the new tempest was not as exciting to me as the other 4. I did finally meet a heavy armour wearing proff in GW2 that I found fun so that is good. Damage output will be tweaked before release but I think they are mostly fine, I run PvE 99% of the time and do not spreadsheet play so mileage will differ.

The shock of snipers and smokescales will wear off over time and I hope they stay mostly as they are now. Running blind into a vet of either is an experience to be remembered.

Gliding, can’t get enough of, I will be interested in how it finally effects game play after release.

Mushroom bouncing I like how you gave a way up if you do not have it yet so it is mostly just a shortcut not a necessity. As another thread said you can be killed on landing due to fall damage, one time I was shot about 90 degrees off of where I was supposed to be sent and died a truly horrible death.

All and all, very positive about release.

yes, they stated that in one of the write ups, nothing new. You get shards from mob drops. Level up exp will be used with mastery system.

The champ bags won’t give you a precursor if you’re not high enough level to get a level 80 exotic. The champ bag exclusive exotics (ie. Anton’s Boot Blade, Razah’s Nightmare, Arc, Stardust, etc.) can drop from any quality of champ bag for any level player because they are a separate, special loot type. Similarly, you can be a low level character and get Final Rest from the SB boss chest, and there are other event-exclusive weapons/items that work in that same way. However, precursors don’t work like that (for now, anyway).

And yes, any quality of champ bag can drop normal exotics, as long as you open them on characters who can get exotics as drops.

This is the answer you are looking for.

It is a fairly short dungeon anyway so you lose a little time if it does not work. After they made the dungeon soloable they changed how the exploration part was unlocked, not sure if that effected the sPvP reward track as well.

Alternatively you can walk there.

I don’t really recomend this since you will be walking through Lornars Pass a lvl 25 to 40 zone then either Snowdon Drifts 15-25 lvl or Dredgehaut Cliffs 40-50 lvl.

Pay the couple of copper to waypoint back or better yet visit all of the home cities and get a bit of experience and transmutation charges.

Useless NPCs in LA Bank should be removed.

Possible solution if we are trying to keep Rev feeling quite different would be to have whichever weapon you use in your first weapon slot appear when using your first legend, and second weapon slot for the second legend.

I agree with this. It would solve the problem of legend specific weapons not harmonizing with others.

If you have say sigil of bloodlust off hand it will proc on mob death even if you do not use the off-hand weapon. If you have say corruption main hand then bloodlust will not proc. You can’t have 2 stacking effects active at the same time either. You can have fire and torment proc at the same time however.

Which is what this beta is all about. Need to see the other trait line to see how it meshes. Also Invocation and Salvation lines seem to be weak copies of each other instead of having independent strengths. Personally I only found mace/axe enjoyable to play and mostly because of axe. Hopefully the other main hand weapon(s) are enjoyable.

Another option is to make any of the other ascended spires and then use a sinister inscription (which is cheaper to buy in bandit crests) in the mystic forge to change the stats to Veratas.

I don’t think it’s an exploit exactly.It was here for atleast 2+years and Anet still hasn’t done anything.I think what they only have to increase the critting spots.

I highly doubt it. You couldn’t possibly make this claim. Every zerg is filled with Guardians. And most guardians are running symbolic avenger. Whether they are willingly doing it or intentionally doing it they are still doing it and everybody is still benefiting from it.

Ah yes, it is difficult for me so others are cheating. Until this exploit was posted on this thread teq was successfully done by pugs and organized groups. Hopefully when this is patched out we can get back to doing damage and killing the dragon instead of sitting on forums saying that it is impossible.

I would not mind if the rotmouths spawned after it failed instead of before, that and crit boxes are the only changes I would make
