I am very well aware of what audience I am. Again, what is your point?

No, I have no clue how important you are to yourself or anyone else. I also don’t need to know ankitten ot interested to know.

Go and apply to work for the company, they are hiring.

What is your point? Those companies made decisions based on what they thought was in their best interest. Did they not get it ‘right’ yes. LOTRO is still one of the best crafted games out there, SWG I don’t play. My point was that you personally have zero say in what happens to a game, accept it or not.

So much panic, so much over the top screaming. If you play the game after the introduction and don’t like it fine. If it becomes a question of the zerg with the better stats (funny in itself) ‘winning’ then complain.
The thing it that they have already done what you are telling them not to do. There is zero chance that the people responsible for the game will suddenly say Tuesday morning ‘hey wait a minute this will kill the game!’. They have already been down that road and feel that it will not ‘kill the game’.
It could very well result in people leaving. But that has already been taken into account and will probably be lost in the noise of people coming and going for other reasons.

Talk to Turbine and SOE/LA about LOTRO and SWG.

Turbine officially apologized to their players….after 2 years and going F2P and burning on last fumes. SWG…legendary story.

Im sure theyve all “taken it into account” rofl

I also had zero personal say in those games, yet everything i said BEFORE craptastic desicions were made proceeded to be true.

Yes i only have intrisic staisfaction of saying “i told you so” (like many out there who enjoyed playing those games but were crapped on by devs)

Unfortunately for you i do much more responsible and important job. Intrisic value you know (i doubt you know what it means).

You are the target audience for GW2. Gratz?

The thing that has me worried:
No groups so farm have progressed past stage 1, early stage 2 and there’s like 50 people there. He has far too much health. Is it going to be the new Baltazar of the servers or something?

More like Karka Queen I think.

That’s nice?

My point was that you personally have zero say in what happens to a game, accept it or not.

It’s taken me a year, probably just because I let hope override intelligence, but I’ve come to realize that. GW2 is not the game for me, and never will be. It was never about actually making a good game. It was about making one that’s just good enough to support a zerg/farming/buy-your-gear monetization scheme.

So I think you are right – and I’ve been deluding myself all these months.

lol, those mental images.

The whole lied to me thing reminds me of offering to take a small child to get ice-cream with sprinkles. You give the child ice-cream with sprinkles but… THEY WHERE THE WRONG SPRINKLES. They wanted BLUE sprinkles and and these are red and orange and green but not BLUE.

As the saying goes, “be sincere in what you say and do, improve the negativity about you, only than you will have less complaints”

So the question that raises,
has Arena.net been sincere with their words and actions?
has Arena.net improved the negativity of guild wars 2 world?

Answer any of them, you will find the answer.

It’s kind of hard to tell, considering they “lie” about anything if you ask the right person, and there’s about as much negativity as I used to see towards Abashi. Anyone remember him?

Eh. . .

It reminds me of “But DAAAAAAD, you said I could get Chik Fil A!” “But it’s Sunday….” “You lied to me!”

But really more like:

“Dear, what happened to that vacation we were hoping for this year?”
“Work wouldn’t give me the time off.”
“Didn’t that happen last year?”
“. . . yeah. But we really couldn’t have afforded it anyway, so me working instead is a good thing . . . why are you pulling out the airbed?”

yw

so you still have made no comment on Liadri mini?
Did you play in the gauntlet at all?
and now you want ascended armour?
So you do want better stats after all

I haven’t been viewing this thread at the moment and I don’t know what the mini is and I did play gauntlet it was easy some of the stuff was a little tedious though the wind lady was not designed very well to me

And yes I want better stats but that’s just me I understand that they are adding ascended armor to the game which should be earned by raid style content IMO that’s very difficult then having some more grindy way for casuals

They are adding ascended armor so i don’t exactly know why your asking me that question in the first place.

oK I find it very hard to believe that you played the gauntlet and don’t know what the Liadri mini is.
It is the reward you get for defeating the final boss- Liadri the concealing darkness.
It is also currently the most prestigious item in the game, since they don’t have a title for doing that light up the darkness achievement.
It can only be earned by your own skill- no one else’s

I brought up the gauntlet because it is a very good example of skill based hard content that not everyone is able to do.
If a player found it too easy there are gambits to make it harder.
The reward is a mini- but it carries a lot of bragging rights because it means you did it yourself.
Unlike your example of Ascended armour which likely will be crafted just like the weapons.

You also mention Windcaller Kieldia
how was she badly designed?
Keep in mind that she is a tier 1 boss and fairly easy- I killed her in one try.

I killed all the bosses in one try except for the guy with the dog

That is your reply?
lol

So since the gauntlet is an example of hard content based on player skill with a unique reward that you can only get by completing it- what is wrong with the concept exactly?

Seems like a very good addition to the game- do able by everyone with the required skill- Casuals and hardcore’s alike.

Has a great reward for time spent and shows your dedication.

The only problem with it is that it is temporary.

It is not temporary, Colin commented in another thread about it. Sorry can’t remember which. The gold symbol (instead of the purple LS main part) means it will be left in game from what I understand.

That’s the spirit.

People seem to see through smoke color glasses, glass half empty with poison inside. I’m itching to get home to play it at the end of my work’s trip and all I see in the forums during my trip are people who spits at the game and wants others to see it that way too. Appalling to say the least.

@OP: Nice work on the video by the way.

Forums are like 60% people who are tired of the game and want an avenue to rant and convince others not to play the game (I laugh at all those attention-seeking ’I’m quitting’ posts..if you don’t like the game just quit)

And the other 35% of people are those who enjoy the game and are toiling away here while at work (me).

The other 5% are people who enjoy the game and actually provide glowing feedback. The majority of the playerbase who like the game are doing just that, playing and enjoying it right now.

That’s quite wrong. I have been posting on the forums since launch and most of my posts were game-improvement suggestions. Sadly arenanet doesn’t care what the players ask for, they just give us worthless crap and we’re supposed to be thankful for them working on that instead of stuff that actually would make the game better. That’s why there are so many negative comments on the forums nowadays and I can’t say I dissaprove. The way GW2 is developing, it is going to become WoW2 instead.
Even if the player base grows, who says any of them aren’t brainless idiots?

I don’t die as much now, as I used to on my ele. I’m much better at dodging (surprised I haven’t broken that button yet, putting my finger through my keyboard smashing it haha), using my defensive skills (rolls, pushes, blinds, etc), and simply not over aggroing (Leeeeeeroy!). Still a little miffed about the 5 foe aoe limit (really Anet, wtf), but I manage.

I tend to die more on my Ranger right now, but I haven’t learned how to best utilize and synergise my skills as yet, and well…dodging is limited. sigh Sometimes I feel like I should change my guild name to ‘Bodies R Us’ XD

Why do you think casuals don’t do high level fractals?

Casuals want to earn their stuff too, no one said anything about no effort- it might take them longer but generally they don’t mind, because they are casual.

What they do not want is to have a gear tier or gated content that you have to play in order to get to play what you want to play.
or in the words of Anet " preparing to have fun"

But it’s already here. If you want to progress through higher levels of fractals, you better grind time gated dailies and guild missions. But since it does not concern casuals (as they don’t do higher fractals) you don’t mind, right?

Hey all, no worries, we got you covered.

Weapons, armor and trinkets with magic find will become account bound, lose their current stats and will gain the ability to be double-clicked to select one of several stat options depending on the item.

For example, if you have an Explorer’s Pearl Staff, you can now double-click it to change it to any other crafting stat.

We will have a blog post about it with more extensive information as well, keep an eye on the website.

that’s potentially disappointing… We were originally told we would be given compensation such that our account bound MF stat would be similar to what it currently is. I have no need for more gear. All my characters have all the sets of combat gear they need. My MF set was just that, a MF set… will there still be an option to convert it to the new account bound stat?

edit: hopefully the blog sheds more light on that.

And with this everyone will buy full MF gear before update to get +/-150%MF just fo few golds.

This is what you would run into, no question.

I can understand that. But it’s the only component of the gifts that is completely 100% useless when you have alts. Which honestly doesn’t really surprise me as many changes as of late have been quite hostile to altaholics. I’m just wondering on the why of that.

I don’t really think that it is hostility to people with multiple alts, I have 6 80s and it is just that I am not thrilled with warrior and engineer that I don’t have 8, nothing to do with feeling excluded. It is easier to plan for 1 character per player than 30 (with some players having more than 30). It is probably tied in with the difficulty of planing for multi alts with conflicts between what is fair to the majority (that is seen from the numbers ANET has not we posting on the forums), vs what is fair for everyone else.

Shame. Not all threads that say that are bashing. Some are honestly curious on why things moved away from how they were in GW1. Not that they were necessarily better in GW1, mind you.

But you can’t learn anything or have any decent discussion if you just plug your ears when people bring up GW1. Same as we can’t when people bring up things in any other MMO or game in which could improve GW2.

Not really a shame, just the ‘GW1 was the best game ever, and GW2 sucks’ crowd have really turned me off anyone who writes ‘in GW1’ now. Interesting they always write was since GW1 is still a playable game. I also did not see anything that lead to creative discussion in your OP.

But it’s essentially an Asuran invention to teach kids how to be adventurers. Its that really so deal breaking to you?

If you never enter the box, it doesn’t exist.

Yes, it is that deal breaking. SAB represents significant effort on their part. Effort that did not go into other PvE content. It’s tremendously popular. They will put more effort into it because it’s popular. This means I have little in common with both their vision of the game and what the general player community wants out of the game.

If I don’t like steak, Ruth’s Chris steakhouse isn’t a wise place to go for dinner. Sure, you can get something else, but their menu specializes in something I wouldn’t care for (I do love steak though!).

The menu here specializes in content like SAB. Re-introducing it alongside an actual back to school period for US children and calling it back to school… It’s a minor thing, but like sand trickling onto one side of the scale, it’s one minor thing among many other minor things.

I don’t see it. Anet has lots of devs, different devs work on different things. It’s like dungeons. Not everyone likes them. But if you stop playing a game because Anet makes new dungeons, what do you gain?

I’m sure a few people will leave over this…but probably not as many people as will get the game just to play it.

Have fun wherever you end up.

Oh come on Vayne get real. They are never going to leave you.

You should have been here during launch. Black Lion Keys dropped like candy. They were all over the place and also when you opened a chest, 9/10 you would get another key back.

Miss those days. I think I’ve gotten 2 or 3 total since they patched that.

I guess candy was bad for me or something because I got none at all.

Class ranking by fun!

I have gotten exactly as many keys as precursors, zero. This is since 2 day headstart.

Simply allowing us to turn of nametags would help massively in situations like the posted screenshot.
They’re such an eyesore.

Unless you are in absolutely lowest setting you can turn them off, I have and it is great.

Which rewards? More boxes that have greens? A chance of a big score? You can get a big score killing any mob in game (precursors have a chance from absolutely any mob).

Unless they split overflows into 10 people max I can’t understand how you would prevent zerg type activity. I don’t understand why it is your mission to prevent zergs either. You can easily find portals that no one is on because they are in a group somewhere else. You are falling into the mentality that you must follow the zerg but it is not mandatory.

If you actually want rewards (which is really the only point to this event besides achievements) then yes you do need to follow the zerg, that’s where the money is.
