As Morrigan said it might be better for sanity’s sake not to have any ‘gifts’. Anyway I did not play GW1 so there is absolutely no baggage that something needs to be given on character anniversary, though it would be nice whatever the gift is if there actually is a gift. Maybe it will be a horse so you can look it in the mouth?

Both Molten Weapons Facility and Aetherbalde Retreat will be returning as Fractals.

The thrid fractal will depend on who wins the vote:

• Evon – The Fall of Abaddon (Vote Evon!)
• Kiel – The Reactor

I did the bluff before with a food buff. After reading this I did it again. Not a huge difference now, the human was actually more of a problem than the norn. It is possible. If you are frustrated leave it and come back. You just can’t learn or enjoy when you are frustrated.

Yes I was being sardonic to answer a sarcastic post, well caught. You got a prize but the person next to you did not, don’t feel too bad about it.

I have edited it to be sardonic since I was not being sarcastic in the least to Alicia’s post over the OP. This took into account the entire post of each rather than the closing argument.

I have about half of what the top ten leaderboard people have. If I wanted to reach that goal tomorrow I would be seriously out of luck. I also have about 1600 hours played which is a fraction of the time of the people at the top of the boards. I would not physically/emotionally be able to do so. I see no need to get to the top of the board myself but people have different wiring as was posted above.

If you use one of the timers (like GW2stuff.com) you can see if Taidha Covington is up on any world you can guest on. It tags the pre-events as well. Keep your eyes open and I am sure it will trigger.

I wanted to ask a legit question, about the specifics of gem purchases and uses. I had abou US$125 gifted to me at xmas time (maybe 10,000 gems, can’t remember) and I’m still using them. If I used some of those gems say to get the complete set of the unlimited use gathering equipment, do I qualify for this kite as well?

The reason I ask is because Anet gave me those mini’s from last month’s? content free because I bought/traded gems with them (I forget what the criteria was for it), and I thought it might apply here too, but that’s why I’m asking… it’s a bit of grey area defining when you used gems and when you bought gems.

You got the minis for supporting the game before the minis came out. You got the kite for continuing to support the game. Gifts are gifts.

Screw expansions.

Here’s the skinny. We know that there are now four teams working on Living Story content in four month cycles. That in itself is a lot. We also know that there are other teams working on the big, juicy stuff as well, things that take longer to refine and deliver. Things worthy of expansions. You all need to realize we’re getting the best of all worlds here… a constant influx of new content to do in between the big releases of major content. Look at games that rely on expansions. They toss you an expansion, you burn through it in a month and wait four or six months recycling the same old stuff waiting for the next release.

We’re getting a constant flow of new things to do while the “big” stuff is being developed. That works for me.

I would like to be able to dye the non-glowing areas. The silver on the radiant does not look good on all of my characters. The shoulders look horrible on all my characters but that is another story.

The game is changing and to go back 2 or 3 years before the game launched and say that that is the one and only way the game should be now is not sensible. There are millions who bought the game and hundreds of thousands who play on a regular basis. They want similar things and conflicting things. Things that work for a small group fall flat for a huge group and vice-versa.
The game is on an interesting growth path and I am glad of that. As time goes on more things will change, it is a business but also I am sure a passion to those who work there.

I dislike greatly (don’t hate) jumping puzzles that are found in the open world and have no intention of finishing all of them. I absolutely love they way you can jump with the elements. Don’t really know why.

Who says I want to be rich? I want my Legendary, that is all, and people like me who mainly do WvW will actually still need to do stuff that I don’t like, dungeons, while PvE players who don’t like WvW now get the badges of honor for the Gift of Battle for free from those chests…

PvE players also need to do those dungeons, just because you don’t like PvP does not mean you like dungeons.

What about the overall better rewards of gold that is undeniable, it feels like we have to do PvE for a Legendary, it feels like people here think and want WvW players to be poor, is that supposed to be? Probably not, WvW players also like good rewards, instead of the crap we get now, especially because that crap is used to upgrade camps, towers, keeps and the castle anyway…

It could also be a problem that the game is/was good out of the gate. As well there is the problem of too much free will on the part of the player. Some people can spend a lifetime on minecraft, others don’t know what to do without someone else telling them. GW2 is not anywhere near as open as minecraft but I think the analogy holds. Dungeons in a lot of games are stand here, now move there now do this, now done. Each person has a defined limited thing to do, now when people have a lot more flexibility they panic.
Things that are not a problem are not noticed.

It has happened to me outside of that area. Seems to be a bug similar to being stuck in combat. I just relog and it clears.

I can see the inquest wanting some, and they are involved up to their ears with the aetherblades. I don’t really see how the flame legion or dredge could get that far south or pull anything back north again.

There is a story posted about the new content on the main GW2 page. It tells how the Zephyrites created their powers using the body of Glint. It seems that the dragons don’t destroy the magic they feed on but soak it up like a sponge.
The question then is who if anyone is tearing apart the dragon we killed. Could we go in and get some magic? The dungeon in expl mode has body parts but we don’t seem to harvest them.

3 or so of the new crystal per day only able to be farmed in home instances until the zone re-appears. If you like to craft it is important otherwise not.
It will be present for a month total I believe with a change in story after 2 weeks.

I personally have a problem with completing several jp’s in game. I absolutely love doing the new content with the elements. Getting from place to place with the 3 styles is a blast. This will be the first time I am actually sad to see content not staying in the game.

I personally don’t like it. Seems to have too much un-needed information.

Comes down to enjoyment as well. My first to 80 was hunter so it was a learning experience. For me mesmer and ele where fun and so where ‘easy’. Theif and guard where not really fun so where not ‘easy’. Necro was a meh class for me as well.

at 80 is hunter, ele, guard, mesmer, theif, and necro leveled in that order.

Why do you need to do every possible daily? Optional means just that. If you personally cannot handle options I don’t really think it is the game that is the problem.

I purely solo Orr. I don’t really see how this game is not solo friendly.

I don’t see it as a problem. You can ignore the whiner and not be bothered. I don’t demand a mesmer portal and I don’t have a problem with using them if a portal is open. I am crap at jp’s so the chances of my getting all of them are slim.

I don’t PvP and I also don’t have a problem with the way the chests are set up.

I personally think they could have done the walk-through today rather than yesterday. I think due to schedule conflicts and such they need to contact outside press and have them run it fairly early and hope they don’t spill everything before it is live. And they absolutely need to have outside press spreading the release since that is a huge bit of publicity. Also since a lot of the people they invite are covering multiple games you get overflow to an audience you would not normally have access to.

midnight PST I really don’t think they want to post anything like a patch note.

lol, no sorry. There are people that challenge themselves by running to Orr on new toons, I don’t think they enter combat anywhere though.
Enjoy the areas you can do, there are lots of events in several areas and they give the same exp you would get in Orr. You cannot get lvl 80 gear until you hit 80. The mats are the area level but you would be dead more often than not and repair bills would not be worth it.

As was posted buy a cheap white head piece (does not matter level) and use a transmute stone (have about 200 normals stones in the bank) by the newly created character. It is now account bound, pop it in the bank and either delete like I did or play it. I then needed to use a high level stone but I have them from some zone completion rewards.

all zones but 2 wvw maps complete and I have yet to receive a single transmute crystal…

The demon of rng, I think I have gotten them 4 times in total. This was on 6 toons to 80 with one 100%, 1 95% and the rest around 50% map complete.

Anet has a real problem with world bosses.

If they scale up damage and HP, the bosses start one-shotting people… we did that during the southsun opening one-time event and it was stupid, everyone hated it, it was pretty much the opposite of fun.

If they scale up HP only, then it’s just a long boring pinata beat-down.

They can’t make it require real strategy and teamwork, otherwise the elitist guilds will just yell and complain at pubs to leave because they are making it harder for them, and that goes against anet’s philosophy of players always being happy to see someone coming to help.

So what else can they do? The current system sucks, but at least people can beat the boss down, collect their loot, and move on. They could tweak it a little to make it last a bit longer (poor SB dies in like a minute every time…), but it’s never going to be challenging except for small groups of people.

About what I wanted to say. It is absolutely amazing though if you get on a boss (except golem mark II for some reason) with less than 10 people. You can see the mechanics, you need a good strategy. Getting it to be the same for 100 people is not going to work though.

This is true to a degree but it is fairly easy to find posts by people saying they quit soon after launch and the game still sucks. Would be nice if people where rational but we aren’t.

I am not in favour of it being account bound. You get the title been there done that on all your characters. You get the rewards account bound. The only thing you don’t get is the little star on every character which I can live without. I have one character with 100% world, I can’t see the need for another personally.

better off in the sPVP section. My understanding is that warrior is easy mode PvE ok WvW and bad sPvP. I don’t do any form of PVP so cannot give specifics.

I am a solo player 90+% of the time in any game I play. I have found really nice guilds in 2 games by sort of stumbling into them. I have not found that here but I have not looked very hard either. I am in a guild and run guild bounty and such but have not made a real bond with anyone. I am glad frankly that I can do it this way, it is nicer with a deeper sense of comradery but it works this way for me.

You can still ping different gear to what you are wearing. If someone was kicked for their own mistake the first thing people do is not admit it (seeing as no one spoke up when you where kicked the odds them pinging the real gear are very small). It is not good and not right in my opinion but it is what happens.

It wasn’t an honest call. There was a simple way to check this by having the individuals remaining in the party ping their gear to check for the runes that would summon a Golem, yet they refused to do so out of sheer stupidity, resulting in me 100% getting the shaft simply because I happen to be an Asura.

This is the equivalence of me being judge and jury sentencing you to life in prison simply because you happened upon a dead body in a room with a bloody knife on the floor, without listening to your testimony or processing any evidence.

Their behavior is simply inexcusable.

And for me, a person who generally like fractals, I tend to find them relaxing more or less until I get the absolute worst people like exampled above.

I am sure that the story will be reworked. When is very much up in the air, could be this year or next. It could be done when they introduce a new personal story line. I hope that it is reworked since I did not like much of the story after claw island.
