Southsun was a failure because it wasn’t a full zone with hearts, events and a good story/lore.
Zones in GW2 usually have some kind of lore for that specific zone, the hearts, events and everything makes sense. Southsun didn’t. It would have been good if it was a bit bigger filled with new stuff to do.
Southsun = Karka Crabs attacking. Kill them or get wrecked.
If you’re not doing the LS content you should be rewarded with LS rewards. It’s like your doing AC dungeon and get rewarded with Arah tokens.
Well, you do have flames on your hands + the footsteps. If they are going to add something to Incinerator it would be nice with some kind of effect when you kill a mob. When the mob dies, it explodes in a burst of lava.
Were did you get the huge from?
I was under the impression that they are separating the LS and the features updates because they felt that it confused players.
So the next feature update is just that, a feature update.
At least that is how I understood it
The feature update will be bigger they said, as they are releasing feature updates as they are and not a part of Living Story updates. They won’t be every two weeks, instead maybe every 3 months.
What do you think will include in the Feature Update coming soon?
- I’m assuming a big update to SPvP and PvE, something like cross PvP/PvE armor and weapons.
- Better SPvP reward/rank system.
- WvW update. Stuff from Eotm added to main WvW map.
- LFG Tool improvements.
- Huge balance update for all classes. (Ranger mostly)
- New weapons added for each class.
- New traits or a new trait tab for weapons only.
- Update to Dungeons.
- Reworked mob AI.

Mmh the Jetpack. I want.
Why would you get banned for farming mats? What is it that you’re doing that would be considered an offense?
You’re repeating the same events over and over. Not really an exploit.
I heard you can get banned, but as ArenaNet haven’t said anything about it, i might just ask. To be safe.
Can you get banned for this farm? you can make 10g per hour. I heard by someone that people have gotten banned. I’d like an answer from ArenaNet though, to clear things out.
I’m going to miss it but i think it will be a great addition for GW2 and the Living Story.
A chimera pet would be awesome.
Minion and Power are pretty good in PvP. Necro sucks in PvE though.
Assuming they nerf decap engineer (which really affects such a small part of the population), just afraid it will have a cascading effect on ALL other engineer builds, who are in no way considered overpowered.
ArenaNet didn’t give a kitten when they nerfed Necromancers Dhuumfire for a certain build, so all builds using Dhuumfire had to suffer, both in PvE and PvP, so why should they give a kitten when they nerf Engineer? Fair has to be fair or they need to nerf classes differently.
Engineer is probably more powerful than Mesmer. The meta build need a nerf. Every Engineer i see in PvP is using the same build.
You can’t raid something forever..TM has been out for like 3 weeks now.
Ranger, Condition Damage and Monster AI
In PvE the ranger is very weak. Especially cause the pet dies so fast, if he’s caught in AoEs he’s going down in a second. So a high reduced damage from AoE sources would fix this.
Also the pet doesn’t offer many F1-F4 skills to do damage/buff party/play defensively.
More or better F1-F4 skills would improve the pet’s usefulness in example a dungeon or WvW zerg.
The ranger itself is pretty weak in smaller teams in PvE, let’s take a dungeon as example. Ranger can’t burst like a warrior, guardian or elementalist. This is not only a problem with the ranger, but also other classes. What i would like to see is more raw burst damage from these underpowered classes. Condition damage isn’t really that strong in PvE, as it is in PvP. Why isn’t Condition damage strong in PvE? it’s strong if you want fights to last and fights in dungeons are getting spedrun so there is no need for a fight to last.
Solutions? fix the monster AI, make them smarter and counter the players depending on their movement and build. Let’s say a party is stacking for spider in AC, when you stack her like that, she will gain new skills that will CC the entire team and prevent them from doing any damage. So the solution for the team is not to stack. Stacking for combo fields is one thing, but to stand in the same spot for 1-3 minutes is not.
If the monster AI is improved and monster gets smarter, other builds will now be viable. The ranger, necromancer, engineer etc will now be asked for in group content.

Confusion works like a hex from GW1. Except Confusion is a condition and not a whole skilltype.
Do you really think ArenaNet would do something like that without thinking about the consequences. They have a solution for it.
I do! but i think the elder dragon will be Season 2 of the Living Story. Scarlet is only the beginning of the end.
First Person View out of combat would work.
Warrior, Guardian, Mesmer, Elementalist.
Believe me. We’re running to Tengu island. Vigil Keep is for tryhards.
The title for the new GW2 video is “Escape from LA”. I know where we will escape. It’s by sea and there are birds there. We are going to Tengu island!!
We are getting Tengu as a playable race and the Tengu racial city. Tengu cultural armor and a lot lot more.
Epic kitten!
So legs at 30k ap and chest at 50k ap??
I will report some bugs here.
- Your own bridges can be destroyed by your own team. (i guess this was intentional while living story is active)
- Zergs everywhere.
- Farm champions on keeps
Both.

I like it. It adds something called chemistry. The story don’t have to be serious 24/7, then the story would have been boring.
So…
You have played 3020h on your mesmer, you killed someone with… what? shatter-triangle? I’d like to kill people in circles and squares, yeah exactly…. And just because some scrub thief that should never lose to a mesmer in 1v1 told you to l2p, you made this topic?
I think you can easily answer the question yourself with 3020h. Else I’d say it’s a l2brain issue.Sorry maybe you don’t know what i meant by shatter-triangle:
Put 3 illusions in a close triangle around you and wait for the thief to stealth up.
1s wait->f1+other useful skills (sword 2, gs 3/2, staff 5)Also I really don’t know if the mesmer is OP. I asked a few ppl I know and they all told me it is.
What makes all people (mesmers excluded) think that we’re op? Is it PU? Is it the burst that’s equal to backstab thieves? Is it the invisibility? What is it?
Do you really want to know? you can pretty much burst while evading, while stealthing and being among 3 illusions to hide yourself. Also, targeting the original and not the clones can be a kitten.
Not only that, your F1-F4 abillities are all useful and serve four purposes.
F1 = Burst DPS
F2 = Counter DPS
F3 = CC
F4 = Evade
Then you can also swap weapons and spawn illusions at all times and short cooldown on your evade on main-hand sword.
Mesmer is OP, but hard to play. A class being hard to play shouldn’t mean it’s supposed to outclass all other classes. Hard = Fun, for some people.
Edit: And don’t forget the moa.

As GW2 focus their graphics and style on being artistic, weapons and armor become more beautiful/cool when they are simple. Some of the legendaries are just too much and they don’t really fit the artistic style that GW2 is.
If someone had an entire Legendary armor set and weapon, that would be cool.
Anyone like this idea?
Are we getting a Tier 4 Armor Set soon? I’m very interested in something even more expensive and exclusive than the Tier 3. Something worth between 500-1000g.
Death themed skins with gore and kitten.
Mesmer is OP. Mesmer can go 1vs3 and win easy. Not any other class can do that, maybe for except Engineer. Still OP as kitten.
If ArenaNet are going to make more games it has to be RPG games. A very good series of Guild Wars lore and story. 100% story. Of course combat has to be good as well.
This summer. It’s in June or July.
Would be smart. Release in china + feature patch in the west will mean numbers will grow, despite inc competetition.
Yes, that’s what i thought. As China get their version of the game, we in the West get the new features. A lot of new things. The feature patch will really be like an expansion. Trust me.

I agree with you Orpheal. Once mobs have a good AI, mobs don’t need defiant.
And yes, the new mobs in this update which protects those thumpers do indeed have a better AI and also the NPCs in WvW, like guards.
Anyone agree?

What they should do is scale stats better. A lvl 80 with exotics can one shot a lvl 10.
Once they’ve done that they should add World Bosses to each zone.
Also add achievements for each zone and a chance for a drop for a weapon/armor/mini/crafting recipe/Dye/Town Clothing etc, that is specific to that zone.
If i enjoy spending my days in Metrica Province because i enjoy that zone, then i should be awarded for doing so.
Yes, please. We might be seeing this in the feature content update in June. Hopefully.
I’ve have a few ideas how you can make PvE better and more interesting, while you will want to have other builds than a zerker in your party. I will try to cover the basics of the AI. I won’t go into calculations and stuff.
- All mobs scale in stat + skills.
- Mobs can see your build. (Are you built for tanking, CC, Support, Healing, Zerker?)
- Mobs will counter your build by gaining new type of skills.
- These type of skills can vary in power.
- Mobs also have elite skills.
- Mobs can call nearby mobs to help them out, when close to death.
- A pack of mobs will gain new skills to support each other.
- Fewer mobs is easier to kill than many. (AoE kill a pack will be much harder than solo kill)
- If you stand in the same position for too long mobs will CC. (Knockback, Knock down, Pushback etc) to prevent stacking.
- Depending on your build or party setup a mob will counter you differently. (Spider in AC might be going all out AoE for a party and another party it might go more tanky and CC. For a third party it might build more for single target nuke + summoning two adds to help her)
Dulfy has a guide for them.
Right now the biggest issue is not the balance of each professions. Its the lack of gameplay diversity.
Right now only Direct Damage is good in the game. Condition interfere with each other making that less powerful in a group, and the best support come from normal utility and not from build. In a game where Direct Damage is the power, its normal that the best Direct Damager, AKA the Warrior, is king. And the other profession that bring the best support skill (without using any trait or stats ) AKA Elementalist, Mesmer and Guardian, form the most popular and powerful profession. By making Condition Damage not interfere with each other profession like Necromancer and Engineer will become better profession in PvE. By making the stealth usefull against Mobs, the Thief will get more spot in dungeon. Leaving only the Ranger with some difficulty. But that’s another story.
This is true. Power scale best of all the stats.
Mob AI need to be changed etc.
Will not be done in the near future though.
I have never ever played or seen a MMO where people were satisfied with class ballance. It’s a battle with Windmills from start onwards.
The more you try to ballance them they more messed up it gets in the end.
Bloodline champions (pvp only game) was incredibly balanced. Wonderful game. Unfortunately it was pvp only and didn’t get much advertisement as it was done by an Indy group under FunCom, but the pvp in it was amazing! It still exists but the population is too small.
That game is made by some students in Sweden. It’s a good and balanced game, i agree.
