Not sure if I am like most people or not – but I never use transmutation charges before I have gear I am going to stay with for a long time – as in Level 80.
I’m sure everyone would love to look cool at level 10 or 20 – but there is no reason to waste a transmutation charge on gear like that.
What if you could take a normal transmutation and divide it into say, Transmutation Dust or a Shard… 1 normal becomes 4 dust/shard. Level 1 to 60 gear would use 1 dust/shard each… Above that would take a normal charge.
I know I would start to use/buy charges at that point. Just an idea to let people express themselves early on without them feeling like they are wasting money on customizing gear that they wear for 2 hours. Plus you might sell quite a bit more Trans Charges on the gem store.
+1 because that is a very real problem I am having! I like to change my looks with all my toons but when I’m leveling my lower level toons they always look beat up during the lvling process maybe a drop-able “transmutation shard” and 80 reg transmutation charge would be a good option. And since they are lvl locked people can’t go around the limits. Only problem I see in this is how you will merge with PVP.
(Disclaimer- In Real Life I have scuba dived.. a lot)
It’s funny you say this because just the other day, I was thinking how having familiarity with the 3 axes is unnatural for most people, unless you’re a scuba diver or something. :P
The underwater areas are beautiful and the sound effects are great. I really enjoy swimming around now and then. The problem for me is the 3 axis and mobs.
You see a place that you want to explore, there is a mob to kill before being able to do so, so you start fighting. But since it’s kind of hard to orient underwater you often bump in to another mob…and another….and another.. and another and then they start to respawn. Then I just get to the point where it’s not worth my time time to even try to explore the area.
Yes, this too! It’s something of a skill I’ve developed, trying to avoid mobs in MMOs and leash when they aggro me – something where my experience is essentially worthless underwater because depth perception confuses me and it can be hard to pick out where the mobs are, among all the miscellaneous underwater objects.
It would be cool to see a zone where there is truly a main city underwater so I definitely agree with the exploration. Sometimes it can get kinda hard to orientate yourself when your underwater but I see a few solutions that might be effective. One can be to change the reset of monsters when underwater that can help with making the player understand how big the “battlefield” is when under water. Also how the character moves in battle can help stop that feeling of being disorientated. When swimming down but attack a monster that is on top make the toon be facing up while swimming back and not keeping him moving looking forward. Another solution imo is people getting familiar with the movement. I’m pretty sure people spend maybe 10% (being generous) of their time in the water.

I hope that they remove WvW from world completion (it’s not part of the world dangit), adds a bunch of vistas and skill challenges (maybe more PoI if meritable) to Southsun, and then add those two new zones (plus a reworked, enlarged, Labyrinthine Cliffs? Pwease?) to world completion.
Then add a separate, less rewarding, track for WvW+Edge of the Mists+Heart of the Mists. Mists Completion.
I agree. WvW counting for world completion has always struck me as a no-no, but it seems that every change they make takes too long.
I think the way they are doing map completion is good the way it is. It is a good way to know the “original” game because I am sure the world map will look different after a few years it also is a good amount of content to explore for a title. WvW is the boss battle to that title lol! Original WvW and not new maps like EotM imo should be the only ones to count for title.
Hey Chris! Was wondering what time of the day you’d be starting this glad to hear from you! Cant wait! This phase will be my favorite! I have MANY ideas for this one lol.
The only problem i see on this is that anet will run out of ideas on the effects since there are tons of titles out there.
Also another major problem is that anet will have to make the effects very minor making it barely noticeable. Since if they make the effects bright or very noticeable, it might destroy the whole purpose of making legendaries.
Idk A-net can maybe put on their thinking caps to see ways to implement effects per titles. Some titles effects can maybe be only when buying from merchant. For Master Crafter maybe it only pops up when you open a crafting station for example.
I was thinking about legendaries and how it could interfere with them maybe having the option to have them on and off (the effects) could be a quick fix to that or maybe try and find weapon specific effects for legendaries. Maybe revamping the effects of legendary weapons or maybe making some type of effect that show some weapons affecting the arms or hands but only just one hand so gloves can still be seen instead of footprints etc…
IDK lol just throwing ideas around.
I just love this idea!
See Orr evolve revive. See the fort pact improved, maybe see a multiracial city take shape?
or vegetation back with the help of sylvari.
Maybe we get a new lions arch. Then we can leave lions arch as is and will be a “veteran” experience to GW2. The story moves on to make new “veteran” experiences. I’d at least always reminisce about lions arch and some GW1 stories. Truly a living and breathing MMO.
Off topic but I also hope LWS1 becomes replayable I missed all of that! I’m not a veteran player if I can’t play that!

Doesnt work with the narrative;
What we really need is more:
-Kasmeer/Marjory moments
-Braham mother issues
-Rox Rytlock issues
-Taimi being Taimi-Councillor Phlunt tripping over his robes.
With the exception of the Phlunt tripping, you’re being sarcastic. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. KasMar needs to shut the hell up and stop interrupting game play with their forced dialog. Brahm and Eir need to stop acting like the other is coming on to them subliminally. That forced flattery was horrible. Rox needs to keep Brahm in check to stop him from being so awkward around his own mother, like a decent girlfriend does. Taimi needs to stop being the damsel in distress before it becomes a trend.
But Phlunt faceplanting… yes please.
+1 please! lol I hope A-Net is listening :P
heres how i would want it to go down
*mordremoth gets a hold of whatever item the zephyrite leader has, gets more powerful and spreads its vines all throughout the depths of tyria
*primordus is forced to retreat
*fort trinity gets expanded and becomes a city
*large areas of zhaitans corruption are cleared up, and there are much smaller pockets of risen
- all of a sudden large amounts of destroyer mobs move in and we find out that primordus has moved to the ring of fire
^ +1 great direction to move the game. Opens up the map and is story driven (good story btw).
Another post has been made about titles having effects I personally think it is a great idea but I don’t feel the effects should be stat related. In my opinion it would be nice if titles have an effect but instead of them affecting stats they should affect your toons in a cosmetic way. Example of the effect a title would have would be the combat healer title. While you are reviving a fallen player it creates angel wings but only while reviving. Another cool effect would be on the traveler titles. The traveler title can give you foot prints and the higher tier it goes the cooler the footprints are and walking among mere mortals can give you golden foot steps. Other titles can have other effects feel free to put in ideas!
Again I know this post is up currently but it describes stat effects and what I’m proposing is cosmetic effects. I only write this as its own topic because when people look at topics they mostly only read the OP and not all the replies which is understandable.
Like I said in my last post here, the idea is cool but only if the effects are cosmetic if they are stat based it will cause an imbalance. GWAMM title can add golden footprints when you walk! That would be kinda cool.
I like the idea of titles giving effects but not on stats. For me it would be cool for example if the combat healer title when reviving gave you angle wings. Or the Loyal title maybe gave you a golden aura. The traveler title gives you footprints when walking etc… I think the effects should be more cosmetic.
I dont normally run dungeons because of the statements made (no real reward for time spent) but I can see myself making more difficult dungeon runs if you get extra champ bags from completion on the more difficult dungeons and then adding champs in actual dungeons also you can get a good amount of rewards. Maybe increasing the dye drop rates in dungeon only can be a good incentive to run dungeons more often. AC you get an extra bag on top of current rewards and Arah you get eight on top of current reward. That would give me a bit of motivation to run more dungeons (i.e farm).
Also people have to understand that once you do something more than twice in a row it is “farming”. WvW/PvE/PvP is all “farming” just depends if that “farming” is fun and engaging. And running dungeons ARE challenging but people play the game the way they want. When you run with people who tell you “do this” “stand here” “run here and hit with 1 here” the dungeons were not designed at least I don’t think to be run that way IMO. People do it because it makes it easier that is on the community not the designers (maybe the designers can change some things but people will always find exploits or an easier more tedious way to do it). And when people don’t want to run the dungeon that way they get grief HARD from the other players. So we can’t get mad EotM is turning into a Karma train because WE are turning it into that type of map.
(edited by Zoso.8279)
LOL thanks for the +1! Hope we can get a brainstorming session going here!
Hello everyone I have a suggestion and would like to see what the community maybe even the developers think.
One feature that I really like in other MMOs City of Heroes/Villains specifically was the option to add a story for your toon. In City of Villains there was an option in your character screen to create a story for your villain and even though I am not much of a role-player I always loved to make a story for my toons and make them feel like they are part of the lore of the game. Would be nice to right click on someones toon and be able to read their stories. One cool thing that can be done with this would be to have a vote type system and after a certain amount of “likes” (one vote per account) you can unlock an achievement maybe called “Storyteller”? Maybe with matching Storyteller title? Now I don’t have any experience is coding or developing games so no idea how hard this would be to make but would be nice to see.
(edited by Zoso.8279)
I’d really like to see a Zodiac back piece. full Zodiac is my preferred skin but I want to be able to have a back piece that goes with the full skin. I tried the Holographic Dragon wings it works decent but personally I don’t like how they work together!
To the OP thanks for the clarification I thought all “more end-game content” players wanted WoW type end game like a gear treadmill so this helps me understand the end-game argument a bit more. Imo the solution would be in rare skins for those who want to get good rewards for overcoming great obstacles. Skins don’t only have to be armor pieces but weapon pieces also. Heck throw in rare minis and dye to the mix and that would get me motivated!
Just a question here because I am curious. The idea of the Living World is that there is a storyline that you take part in, that you are involved in events that shape Tyria in permanent ways—how would you all convey the sense of progression and change without also making changes to the landscape? I see a couple of comments regarding creating things, not simply destroying. Do you all have any other ideas?
Imo a few things that can be done to enhance the feel of a living world is conflict between none-player races. Something that I love to see in the world when exploring is watching a stalker hunt a deer or moa. When seeing animals “hunt” I always feel like the world is breathing, life and death, the circle of life. One of my favorite regions in all of Tyria is Harathi Hinterlands because it is an area that feels alive! Seraph and Centaurs fighting amongst themselves watching from afar I truly feel that this area is alive. If a creature or race is living in the area affected by the new threat it only makes sense to see those races in the fight even more then the 5 playable races.
Another thing that can be done and is very important to me personally is healing the lands. Many people have posted about showing the world heal after destruction and I agree in a living world this is natural and will always happen but at the same time it has to make sense. If a town or area near a town is destroyed then it should be rebuilt maybe not to look exactly the same but some type of rebuilding has to take place. Having said that, if an area that is far away from a town is corrupted it shouldn’t be rebuilt because that wouldn’t make sense. An example of this lets say a forest that has no intelligent race living near by what would help create the feeling of it being alive?
Well its simple let the forest retake what was once hers. (example) Maybe one patch show a few vines growing on the statue the next patch grass and trees grow around it and four or five patches in all you see is the face that was carved in the statue but the statue itself in covered in vines and moss etc.. (example). This not only will make the feel of a living world but will give the players who “lived” through the experience that feeling of “yes I remember this statue” and can reminisce every time they walk past the structure.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/lwd/Healing-of-Orr-just-for-fun-Season-3/first#post4367647 (shameful plug but it applies to the topic)
The problem that this holds is how will new players experience these events? Sadly the answer just like in life is not very fair. People replaying the LS will have an idea of what happened (because LS are being made replayable) but they will not be able to have the same experience because they didn’t “live” through the event. An example of this is a soccer match. When I replay a game I have an idea of what happened but it is not the same feeling as actually being their in the stadium living the moment. This is life and even though I wasn’t able to go and have the same feeling as when I do go to the stadiums I still know what happened I am still up to date. But this feeling motivates me to want to go to the match (play the game while the season is active).
These are just a few ideas hope it helps A-Net and gives my fellow forum goers a different point of view into this topic.
P.S destruction should still happen imo because without destruction rebuilding can not take place. Circle of life. (The Lion King – The Circle of life theme song plays in background)
This is a good one! Glad it is here having guildwiki open when looking to buy new armor for my toons was a must now I don’t have to! Great add on A-Net!
@ChrisWhiteside That is fine with me. If I have to wait four extra days to make sure you will put your full attention into the CDI I feel the benefits outweighs the faults. This CDI is going to be a good one so 100% attention is what I am expecting.
Honestly I don’t see why this is a problem. Movies, books other games all have portrayed some other culture. A-Net is not making Cantha all slums or depicting the asian culture in any bad way. Its an area with multiple asian influences if you read more into it, it is because you want too. (imo)
I can definitely see Cantha making another appearance in GW2. For me it is not if it will happen more like when. Tyria still has a lot of blank spots so I think that would take priority but since they are moving for more story based content I think its only a matter of time. Cantha had a lot of story and I’m sure they know people would go crazy to see the Kurzick and Luxons at it again. (Kurzick FTW!!)(The turtle ####### will kneel before the mighty Kurzick :P)
ideas? easy, mobs from the underworld LIKE DHUUM!!! TA DA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
X.X no comment….
Maybe a noob question but where and how can I watch/join the CDI, and what are the topics apart from the word ‘guild’
It will be its own topic stay tuned to forums and you’ll see it.
Doesnt work with the narrative;

I’m 80% sure you were being sarcastic but not 100% lol but yeah I hope this can be a direction they can think about going and please more throw out ideas! This is an idea topic more then anything else (about LS why I posted here)
Yeah I feel that in two years some of that rebuilding Trahearne was talking about in the end of the PS could be seen in LS
In my honest opinion I feel that the LS can eliminate the need for an expansion but only if it is permanent and enough content is created. We still have many areas in Tyria (map) that have not been created if the LS can tackle this by adding areas each seasons it can definitely in my opinion eliminate the need for an expansion (two areas in two years not nearly enough). Expansions for me would only be needed to add a new continent (Cantha/Elona). LS can fill in the map of Tyria and later if/when expansions come out they can do the same with the new continents.
Hi All,
We will starting a CDI soon on…….Guilds.
It will be broken down into time boxed discussion sections such as Guild vs. Guild, Guild Activities, Managing Guilds, Guild Content etc.
I will update when I have more details on when we start. I am very much looking forward to it.
Chris
I know it only says two days have past but it feels like forever! X.X I never knew I was impatient until I came back to this Topic and found out only two days have past! LMAO!!!
( Before I came to check how long it has been since you announced the topic I was thinking to myself “dang its been like a week when are we going to start this next CDI” LOLOLOLOLOL )Morning Zoso,
I am looking forward to it to. I will try to get the topic started on Thursday of next week. Just need to get some things finished so I can give the CDI the attention it will need.
Chris
Thank you for the reply! Wasn’t expecting a reply was just saying a funny story but this info is gold! Again thank you!
Anet knows how many people are in game, and how many are posting on forums. It’s another metric. They also know what percentage are posting and what percentage are lurking.
Since Anet has told us about these metrics and since it’s completely logical and even normal for a business to have them, why would you doubt them? Do you have evidence that Anet doesn’t have them? Because it seems to be quite certain that they they do, down to which creature killed the most players during the first year of play.
You better just play!
Don’t post a QQ!
Cuz metrics reveal
Everything that you do!
Metrics make the game great for you! They know where you’ve been farming!
Though you may think them blind!
They know when you have bought no gems
So buy now! And grind, grind, grind!Metrics, shmetrics. Or, to put it another way, while they surely do have access to all that metrical knowledge, in all that metrical detail, there’s no way for us to know whether they are interpreting it correctly, or that they’re even attempting to interpret it at all. For all we know they could write the word ‘metrics’ on a dart and toss it at a dartboard, and then say (in all honesty) “We did this or that because metrics indicated this or that would be good to do.”
Ultimately, it’s what they choose to do with all that metrical knowledge that counts. And what they are choosing to do with it certainly seems to be causing widespread and increasing unhappiness, and in more places than just here on the forums.
And remember, fellow forumites:
You better not pout!
You better not groan!
Here have a few more
Porous bones!
Metrics make the game great for you!Great writing. Bad points.
The whole point is is that players think they know everything and they don’t. Devs don’t know everything either.
But if you are going to make a decision about the game, I’d trust devs over players pretty much all the time.
I’ve seen what player input does to games.
Yeah I am leaning more to Vaynes points even though I can understand both sides points.
P.S GREAT SONG! Made me laugh! You have a talent there my friend! (100% serious no sarcasm!) +1 for the song!

Give a man a link and you answer his question; teach a man to google and he gets answers for a lifetime. Plus, opening Google and typing your question requires far less of your’s and other people’s time, since the question does not provide ground for discussion – like build advice, feature criticism etc. (That said, I agree that forum search should either be fixed or completely removed).
Wiki is also helpful pretty often.
Some people would rather get an answer from another person. And, some people don’t mind answering other people’s questions. Before the internet people actually communicated with each other. Shocking huh?
How can you complain about him wasting people’s time when you could easily not clicked the link and not responded in the thread. You wasted your own time.
Google links to threads like this. So without threads like this there would be nothing to Google.
+1
At the same time I don’t think anyone was trying to be mean here. (100% my opinion don’t know if its true or not)
(edited by Zoso.8279)
The maps in guild wars 2 do feel a bit bigger than their counterparts in gw1, But we are still missing so many areas that were in gw1. Rest of maguuma, Rest of eotn areas, Crystal desert, Ring of fire isles, All of Cantha, All of elona. How was the gw1 dev team able to pump out new maps/content so fast? The gw2 dev team is bigger so you would think they could bring out maps/content much faster than the gw1 team, I would love to know what they do in the office all day.
Lets remember GW1 was almost all private instances. Only part of GW1 that was “open world” was city hubs. That affects development.
Prior to launch, they said “endgame starts at level 1.” The living story is basically the endgame that was promised. Rather than being like every other MMO which offers the typical options of raid or die, GW2’s endgame is the journey itself.
When it comes to expansions, I doubt one will ever be released. Anything an expansion could do could be done through the living story. The only difference an expansion offers is money and marketing. If they were truly going to offer an expansion, I would expect them to charge for the living story releases first, since it would have the same effect on the player base. An expansion would cause the player base to split, which was something they were trying to minimize coming from GW1. With GW2 revolving around an open world design, they want to maximize the numbers, not split them. Traditional MMOs get around this problem by trying to force people to buy an expansion, else they’ll be much weaker than everyone else.
Besides min/maxing, there is no point to ascended gear. It was added in response to the initial player base at launch, though they say ascended gear was always planned. Its goal was simple, to fill the gap and give players something to do, which was later replaced by the living story and the 2 week update schedule.
Yeah I was only saying expansion to introduce new continents and such but all wild speculations. I agree with most things you said so just wanted to be better understood.
Imo you can be a hardcore gamer and still feel good about GW2 you can help your server be best in the world! Ascended give a bit of advantage in WvW. And LS is very real endgame content the only difference is we get it in little spurts for free rather then in one huge swing in an expansion for 49.99 (other stuff also but I won’t go through the whole list AGAIN). And I am sure (no facts just a guess) there will be an expansion in the future but atm A-Net is focusing on catching us up to the Chinese version of the game.
P.S I don’t play WoW because I don’t want to spend a year grinding for armors or trying to get to endgame. I love GW2 because no grind.
(edited by Zoso.8279)
I’m at war with a couple of guilds….but they just don’t know it. I think I’ve won against one of them.
LMAO! That was funny just had to comment.
P.S new CDI is on guilds read post for details maybe OP should join in on the discussion.
Honestly I just wish they would fix the forum search. :-/
Thanks for the link, I could not find it. Probably because of the ‘ArenaColin’ thing. Lol.
Not only the information about early game mechanics, but it’s interesting hearing about the percentage of forum-users/Reddit-users ratio to game players, as well. You learn something every day!
Yup! I wasn’t exactly surprised to hear that they used extensive usability testing (I know it’s something valuable in any kind of software) but I was nonetheless impressed to know that they’re utilizing it so heavily, even for something as simple as downed state.
I’ve been saying this all along. Anet has so much data coming in. You can argue perhaps that they’re misinterpreting the data, but they know so much more about traffic patterns in this game than we do.
So they make decisions on what they know.
Suppose, hypothetically, that 20% of the player base comes to the forums (which is I think a high estimate) and of that 20% only 20% actually post, which I also think it a high estimate. That means only 5% of the player base are posting here on the forums. For sure the most engaged, active part of the community.
However, I played Guild Wars 1 for an obscene number of hours, had my own guild, played that game to death and almost never posted on any forums. The one time I posted was when I’d been hacked. Other than that, no forums saw me.
I’m sure a lot of people wished that had continued. lol
LOL! your input is appreciated (at least from me, regardless if we agree or not)(Respectful discussion is ALWAYS a good thing)
In other topics this has come up and I fully agree it would be nice that the game change during holidays or events like birthdays (not sure if it won’t come back but hope it stays GW always made a fun experience of the holidays/dragon festivals etc..). Seeing the game change during holidays is always nice to see imo. Taking a step back from the usual killing and fighting to celebrate the holidays is a nice way to spend the time with the community. I completely understand the fact that not everyone celebrates the same holidays but I feel that a middle ground can be found for the sake of community camaraderie. Understandable with the new launch in Asia focus has been shifted and WE as a community ask a lot of you guys/gals but it would be nice if we can keep this GW tradition alive! (GW1 player <3 the holidays!)
I am 100% sure not everyone will agree with me so please fell free to give your opinions!
P.S lets be respectful just because we don’t think alike doesn’t mean we can’t show each other respect.
This would be awesome!
But it would have to be done in instances. Otherwise newer players finishing up their PS would be super confused, and none of the events would make any sense at all. But from purely a story stand point, I think there could be some really cool things that could be done with the cleansing of Orr. The Priory would more then likely be at the forefront as far as the rituals go, and the calling of the gods. But having the summoning not go quite as expected resulting in a return of the Mursaat, or something could be really cool.
Maybe if the zone was created in southern Orr to the right of Cursed Shore new players won’t get to it until they get to at least Cursed Shore because that will be the only zone bordering the area. So will be the only point of entrance. That way we can have a new permanent area for people to explore and play in. YES! the Mursaat! Would be a great way to get veteran players of GW to relive some golden years and new players to GW will get to know the history and the lore of the GW universe.
There is another possibility (though how popular it would be is… questionable…)
Have the new zone only be accessible to those who have completed Arah Story. That way, new players will have to see the fall of Zhaitan before being able to see the new zone…
Not sure how viable that idea is though, since the general feel of the game is, you can go anywhere regardless of anything else… But, it’s just an idea to toss out there. As for your OP… I’d personally love to see something along these lines. Some kind of restoration being worked on in Orr would be great to see.
This topic is all about throwing out ideas. Thanks for the post!
-No, There were actual good system to make the whole commander SYSTEM not just TAGS better. From all the CDI we got a few colorful tags.
-I wasn’t talking about end game content directly. I was talking about content that would make players more interested (and invested) in gw2. And since GW2’s end game starts basically before you reach level 80, I was practicaly talking about features that could be used by everyone (once again, WvW, sPvP, guild features) while if we take in consideration other type of content, then certainly SAB, dungeons and fractals would come on my mind first.
-And all of those topics probably also received the whiteknight treatment. And that’s why I said I see why others just gave up on the forum. TBH, The best thing to do would be to merge the forums with gw2’s subreddit since they are their each exact opposites. I don’t know about the other topics, but if you would carefully read my first message, you would see that I’m not even asking for specific features as much as I’m saying that players need more content to play with, otherwise they will just leave (same thing happens with other mmos that starts to stagnate after a while). Living story won’t make a big difference. And with more and more players getting bored and returning only for a short period of time, when a new episode is released, the gem shop will also lose it’s share of costumers. If this will happen, they will lose even more money and they will have even less resources to spend on new features and content. If they will reach that point, the game will be done for. And we don’t want that, do we?
In order to make the game grow, we need players that are happy with the “end game” (And based on what you said, if you like it, that doesn’t mean others will like it as well).
We don’t need new players to get a bigger player base. We just need more actual content so players won’t leave.
And I don’t know about you, but usually, I start wasting money after I’m certain that I’ll be spending lots of time in a game and not while I’m still leveling up.
:-/ going in circles no point in continuing this discussion.
I can see you have good intentions but this is going nowhere. And look at your buddies ^ post above yours.
I don’t know any of the particulars of Anet’s dev budget, their actual priorities (as they are discussed internally within the organization, not in blog posts and patch notes that are for the public consumption).
What I do know is that a lot of the feature pack’s features are ports from China. That tells me that it’s cheap, low-hanging fruit. There’s nothing wrong with that…but I have a feeling this feature pack cropped up as a way to spin these feature ports they had planned all along as something more than it is.
I doubt Anet actively doesn’t want to build new WvW features, new sPvP maps, and whatever else people are bellyaching for, but the fact is that that would cost them far more money to build these things than it was for them to port a bunch of stuff over from the China game. Most likely, they probably don’t have the budget and instead are focusing on smaller modular items one at a time that a small dev team can eke out.
They wrote the China game, it did not just appear.
I think they are just trying to catch us up with the china game and once everyone is in the same page its full steam again.
This would be awesome!

- There were many good ideas to make the system better and more interesting, but the only thing that we got out of that whole CDI were colorful commander tags ( what you value )
- You talk about end game content ( Living story/Dry Top/Southsun Cove all end game content again what you give value )
- Based on the replies that I got on the forum I can see why people are afraid ( Look around the forums more topics about hate this/more content/give give give and attacking developers for not doing anything in two years (insults) )
Just to give a few points but there are more. I’ll let the other forum users make their own opinions.
I won’t deny that your intentions are good but how your doing it needs work.

Maybe you should read in detail what you type. I agree on constructive criticism but not pointless grieving.
I dont understand how someone can say they give up on CDI but still want to make change. OP says commander CDI was a fail but most people who helped Dry Top CDI loved how much their input was used. Can we be honest for a second?
And I don’t mean to be rude but it seems like the only person that can be honest here is you and the group of people that you represent that are “afraid” to speak up. ( They don’t stop speaking and making arguments based on what only they want or give value )

Actually I agree with most things A-Net developers have been doing. But thanks for the sarcasm and opinion it was fun to read!
The only major mistake I saw from A-net making content temporary. They fixed that and will be bring season one back. A-Net has not been sleeping for 2 years they have been working and they want the game to succeed and grow more then the OP because it is their livelihood. To say people are only praising is just a straight up lie. Read more talk (type) less. If you don’t give something A-net does value it doesn’t mean others don’t. I can completely understand your point but you can’t throw away all that A-Net has done just because you don’t give it value. You want to be productive join in on the CDI and give constructive criticism and good feedback. Dry Top many that participated would say that it is a direct result. Both sides of this argument have to take a step back and try to understand one another and not argue but try to find a solution. But don’t say we need more WvW content and then dismiss EotM because its a “karma train” the community is making it a karm train (just an example) or sPvP throw the new maps to the trash because its not good enough. People sometimes like to argue and insult more then read and try to come up with constructive feed back. I have read every type people who say stop working on PvE because sPvP need more attention others say work on WvW because its all about sPvP etc….. And people comparing GW1 to GW2 this is the hardest to understand because GW1 was ALL private instances the only time is was open world was in hubs so OBVIOUSLY it is easier to build content quicker when you don’t have as many domino pieces that can fall on each other. Step back relax and join in on the CDI not all will be the same but that is how you start and if you make it a positive experience we can have more. New CDI is on guilds read the post for more information this is a topic ALL should be excited about.
Thank you! I had a lot of fun thinking (day dreaming) and writing about it! Hope more people join in on the conversation because its a fun topic and fun way to see how the world breaths.
Champs from events should never drop a champ bag,you should get one champ bag for each event you finish problem solved for all events
That could work too. I’d rather the developers didn’t do that because I spend a lot of my time farming but they know best they know the game mechanics better then me for sure. I am sure they will do what they feel is best for the game as a whole. Its a domino effect when talking about MMO.

I’ve only done this event twice, the day it came out and 2 days ago, it was being farmed, but the event did not fail, infact the commander running it said, they would not let it fail, as they always complete events, and sure enough we completed it,
I guess it restarts every 60 minutes ( could be 90 as I wasn’t there for the start ) Anet before you hit the event with the nerf hammer making it no fun at all to do for those playing, just make it that if the event fails it has a 2 hour restart timer, if it is completed it then restarts as normal.
I think you might have been running it with me and my group of honest and respectful commanders and the event restart every 20min or 25min but yeah I think fail timer should be changed to at least regular timer and let that be the end of it imo.
