Likely scenario. Cap both and give up mid. This is a lot easier to orchestrate than winning the battle at mid.
Then half of your team is probably going to mid right after getting sides, dieing horribly 30 secs later and leaving you outnumbered on your sides…
yeah and lets also not forget they get to mid quicker then you get to far. Far is just no good in start of fight. Home/Mid then you harass far but never prioritize it because its the farthest node from your spawn point…. lol… sometimes simple is better.

I know this issue has been brought up many times but I feel like I have to bring it up again because it is still happening. Minions are not responding to attack command when my toon is running forward. While I’m running forward with any weapon set equipped once I attack the enemy while I am running the minions stop responding and just stand in the spot where it was once I hit 1. This affects MM greatly! Please look into this. Also seems to happen when for example 3 minions are standing in place and other are readjusting.
Note: Repeatedly using skill 1 helps to make them responsive again but its really a hit or miss because sometimes they respond after a few taps and sometimes they don’t.

and people still say game is too easy or why the reason for NPE….. Most people don’t know how to run a build that completely syncs with itself. Copy/Paste seems to be the answer for most. Knowledge is key and I do agree with @tichorum. Hopefully with this NPE people will understand the mechanics of the game a bit better and run builds that compliment each other.
Honestly in soloq where their really is no coordination its best to keep tactics as simple as possible. tPvP is where you can really work on better tactics because whole team should be on the same page and adapt to any changes quicker.
Plus if you have 1 bunker home and 1 bunker mid once points are secured other 3 players can roam depending on flow of the match.
This has been an issue for too long. Personally I am ok with the new fix; people sometimes forget how easy we really have it. Before the only farming that was done in FGS was Wurm+Drake+Troll+Trio. Breaking the Ice was never even farmed before! Took me almost 30min to set up Coil runs in FGS. Then blix came and went and coil runs turned into a whole different monster. Breaking the ice before 9/9 patch was 25min complete timers now we have them at 15min. Coil is still VERY VERY lucrative farming but when done with the regular farm train in FGS Wurm+Drake+quagg+Troll+Trio. And honestly that is the way it should be ran. You still make as many bags actually a bit more doing it this way then the fail trains.

Getting into the other teams head is a viable and legit tactic that has been used for ages.

Their is a difference between trash-talking and harassment imo. I am a very good trash-talker lol in xbox/gw2 and life but their is a difference and honestly the video didn’t make me laugh which is what trash-talking is supposed to be. I just felt bad for this kid.

Once again builds aren’t set in stone! If you look at ToL1, Helseth ran Null Field against condi heavy teams! If you look at Supcutie’s shatter guide, he recommends Lyssa Runes and/or Null Field if you have trouble with conditions! So please just because you saw some thuper good Mesmer in a tournament run a build doesn’t mean you should copy it to the letter! First, they are better players than you and tailor their own builds for their own playstyle! Second, they are better players than you and understand positioning and know when to dodge the damaging condition applying hits! Third, they play with a team and, especially in the Mesmer’s case, will support them with peels and condi clears and boons etc! So if you are personally having trouble with conditions, grab some anti condition skills or runes! The top Mesmers in the game who invented the build that you copied gave you the OK! Good luck!

@Blu dang bro im so sorry that you even had to go through all that drama to promote a game. Those “pro” teams are not very pro if they don’t understand the importance or difference between a public practice session and a private one. Every pro sport has a form of open practice where media is allowed for a day or a for a few hours to watch and record the practice. They do this to increase fan base for the sport or for the team itself. You hold private practice to really work on your tactics and improve your game, you hold public practice to promote the sport and your team (not running full builds or true tactics just a glimpse of how “pros” practice more of a learning opportunity for new players and free advertisement for more experienced players) . They were given such a huge opportunity and they threw it away because they are shortsighted rather then looking at the bigger picture imho.
Win or lose being an A**H*** is no excuse. Someone said it best here already. They act out because they are selfish people who are only looking out for their own interests. But they should consider one thing. If you harass every new player that joins (by accident or they want to try pvp) then you are making the pool of players smaller. You will be known as THE KING OF….. wait for it…. NOTHING! Look at all the pro teams that break up just as fast as they start because it is a team of immature little selfish kids. Grow up people is all I have to say. You want to be a pro learn from pro sports. What happens to players who are selfish and egotistical? Skyhammer is all about CC. My advice would be work on your CC and if your toon isn’t CC focused stay near B. But I will agree a voting system should be in place so those that don’t want to play the map are not forced to play it.
I’ve decided I’m going to main warrior for sPvP. I’ve read here and there warriors are easy to kill and most warriors suck, I don’t want to be a typical warrior.
Any advice on what to practice/ general strategies in order to be an above average warrior? Specifically I plan to play GS/SwordShield and Axe-Axe/Axe-Shield. I don’t care whats viable or meta, those weapons are what I prefer and I believe more in outplay and fun than meta weapon sets. (At least I’ve seen warriors do well with non-meta weapon sets)

By only using metabuild.com you will never learn the game. Meta builds are found when you experiment. I’d recommend experiment. This game is so much more complex then hambow………

2) You clearly haven’t visited the site yet. I agree the name can be misleading but most of the builds on the site aren’t meta builds.
3) I wouldn’t recommend experimenting until you master the meta builds for your class and reach the point where you understand why those traits/skills/etc were chosen. After that, you can start to experiment. If somebody is convinced that axe off-hand is good, then there is much to learn.
4) It’s been a while since since the last meaningful patch for most classes (I’m talking about new skills and traits, we haven’t got a single new weapon skill since launch for example). People have spent quite a bit of time experimenting with builds by now, and it’s safe to assume that further experimenting won’t give you a build that’s just as good as any current one.A bit more about point 4. At least 1 new gamemode is coming soon, chances are many new builds will be made for those, even ones that are unviable in Conquest. As for Conquest, we need a major balance patch or an expansion to breath life into theorycrafting (and maybe we’re better off without it, last thing we need are viable spirit weapons and more passive/spammy play, for example PU mesmer)

Please don’t be naive enough to think you are going to discover some secret new build by experimentation. The game is old enough it’s all been done before and we currently know what builds are best at what. Thing will only change with patches but since anet never really patches stuff to crazy the builds don’t change that much. And even when they do screw stuff up with an op skill in a patch it becomes quite obvious even before the patch goes through.
Experiment all you want, all its going to do is lead you to something close to what a meta build is eventually since you will see more and more why people use those builds.
Also I’m not sure why you have such a strong hatred towards that website, I don’t think it is as widely used as you think.
Oh don’t get me wrong I don’t hate the site. Personally I like the idea of having a database of good builds what I don’t like is people turning off their brains because they got a build from a forum and not exploring all the skill possibilities that the game has to offer. GW2 just started with their tournaments so their is still a lot more to be found a lot more of team comps to play with and a lot more skill synchronization. The new level of competition is going to evolve the game further and I just don’t want the game to stagnate and people not adapt because they are so focused on 1 or 2 meta builds. Like if its some kind of bible. Everything has a weakness you just have to find it. I mean look how they are adding new amulets now. That will change what we call “viable” builds.

I honestly do not understand why they make fail/win timers two different timers….. By doing this you create the possibility for these types of things to happen. I love to farm but have been very vocal about how I feel about fail trains (I don’t like them). A-Net thank you so much for reducing the reset timer from 25min to 15min! I am very grateful and did notice that change! But sadly some people don’t understand that their greed is creating such a kitteny atmosphere. Greed is the culprit. PLEASE ANET MAKE FAIL/WIN TIMERS THE SAME! If you fail in any part it should all have the same timer. For those that say “oh but what of the people trying to do full event but die they have to wait also.” What I have to say to that is simple the timer is the same but the phase in the event will still be more advanced then starting the event from phase 1 so THAT is the advantage that you will gain.

Dual axe will be the true DPS weapon set and longbow is to hold down targets and also hit them with some condi damage (fire) (Note with the trait skill I in vitality tree line your cripples also immobilize which comes in handy when using your dual axes). Shouts would be good skills to run personally i use “for great justice” and “fear me”. Having the physical skill “kick” will help you to disrupt enemy skills and also give good knock back to either make space for yourself in a fight or give yourself an opening for dual axe skill 5 to really do huge amount of damage. GLHF hope you find a build that works for you!
don’t listen t this hotjoin hero please! offhand axe is absolutely useless. even auto attack does more damage than axe #5. your utilities do not even have stability and let alone berserker stance and endure pain that are absolutely the reason why we see warriors in top-level games.
Rock,paper, scissor bro. Vitality [I] gets you 2 different immobilize with all weapon sets. You have fear and knock back in utility skills and blind in longbow. My DPS builds tend to focus on the attack not defense, I have my bunkers for defense. This build gets you time on target and some crowd control. It does what a berserker class has to do. Thats not even taking into consideration the boons that i get for every other hit…

This game does many things right when it comes to pvp but it still needs a bit more TLC so it can truly be 100%. What I agree most of the OP was this statement “people dont form teams to play the game they form teams to play ESL weekly etc.” I agree with this very much.
The thing is k/d and all other stats come with the territory of any pvp game. It all falls under teamwork. Good teams will focus on points selfish teams on k/d. Let the players organize themselves. I basically want to know how affective some builds that I’ve made are on the battlefield and I cant get a good idea if my k/d/downs are not listed. Sure their are other ways of finding this out but k/d etc. are fundamental stats in ANY PvP game pc or console.

If you lose the match it doesn’t matter how many k/d you have but it is a good stat to show in any pvp game. Heck people still focus on kills now! If you want to win make a team and win but trying to control random peoples actions? Thats just a bit much imo.
oh yeah of course i don’t mean to make it death match just to show your k/d/downs while playing the game. Even in conquest mode this can be done. I play BF4 (Battlefield 4) so conquest is a game mode I know very well.
Can we please have the “normal” type of leader board when we are in sPvP? Kill/Deaths Downs/assists etc…
Its 2 years already and not a single competetitive thing has happened ingame.
Its like 3rd season on WvW 2nd season of PVE and not a single season of PVP. WHAT THE TIGER!
Reset leaderboard put it on 8 week timer, stamp golden/silver/bronze dolyaks on one of your generic back items continue with all that zoo you got up to dragon BOOM 16 months of competition provided, a reason to at least join some que! This system would be so simple and bad that noone would even guess that it wasnt anets idea.Of course there is those massive PVP tournaments that get almost as many views as some ginger chopping wood in runescape but its just an illusion cause none of top teams ever play teamque seriously and noone tries to get good at teamque, people dont form teams to play the game they form teams to play ESL weekly etc. And thats sad very very sad.
Feels like PVP is community are some apes for anet that just sit in cage running circles till they are needed for entertainment and are put in some half baked tournament.
Every single game out there makes tournaments for top teams to compete we need month of tournaments to even figure out who are top teams from the people we have left cause ingame top players sit in mists trying to figure out best way to color their gear while PVP is played only by newbies who still havent figured out that leaderboard doesnt give you anything at all.
I have actually noticed this and have to say I agree.
We had this feature in GW1 and it is missed greatly. Oh build templets where are you! Skill/Trait templets would end my PvP woes.

Personally I use turret builds as offensive builds rather then defensively and to be honest if you trait them properly you can get a good amount of DPS. Now would I be mad if they increased the fire rate or damage output? Of course not. But how it is right now is ok. Only reason that i’d say to increase the fire rate more then the actual damage is because when running a DPS turret build you really don’t have a not of survivability. Your only real defense is healing turret and a few knock backs.
Honestly why don’t A-Net just make all Fail/Win timers the same? This will stop all this failing on purpose shenanigans.
Honestly with the trait system we have now people have yet to truly unlock all the weapon combinations.
Yes it is happening and I honestly can not understand why….. You gain more from completing the event.

Man I’ve always been curious as to why they don’t add the more people are in a zone the faster it gets capped. It would make the game so much faster and one person even if they are beast can lose a cap to two people because they two have an advantage. Imo that would add even more teamwork into the sPVP. But on your point Isendel even though I completely agree with you on adding more game modes some games have made a very successful E-sport culture with only one map being played LoL is the 1st that comes to mind.
Also if you take into consideration foefire for example it is the same game mode but with a twist. This is not me justifying not adding a new game mode like I said I really hope it happens and want new game modes but yeah you get what I mean lol.
@Trevor Let me start off by apologizing the manual remark I made was just because I didn’t think you actually played the build before commenting on it but your right it does come off as condescending and again I apologize.
Let me just make a few comments on the build so you can see how I play it and maybe get a different POV. When I play the build I run Sword/Torch & Mace/Shield and all the skills I’ve listed above. I put Hammer in the original set up to see if anyone would correct me after playing the build but the actually build runs Spirit shield instead of hammer. When engaging the first thing I do is pop up [Zealot’s Flame] then I use [Flashing Blade] which puts me directly in front of the enemy since I am close [Zealot’s Flame] burns the enemy it can not be blocked so I am for sure hitting them with cd without even using my burst skills. If they try to immobilize me my Aegis blocks their 1st stun attempt. Once I’m in front of the enemy my basic attack on the sword does great damage so I don’t have to use [Zealots Defense]. Once the enemy tries to disengage with a dodge or skill move I have a few options I can either throw my [Zealot’s Flame] or dodge to make up the space or use [Cleansing Flames] or even [Zealot’s Defense] Which has enough range to hit them even if they dodge (I know this because of the many times I’ve used the skill, feel free to test this with a guidlie or friend). What I tend to do is dodge with them to make up space and use my skill 1 on sword [Sword of Wrath] which does very good damage to any spell caster (DPS) or even to bunker builds. Once i’ve hit them once or twice then ill use [Zealots Defense] to really put the hurt. If I am getting attacked I have 3 Aegis to help counter hits or stuns etc.. One which I start with in battle the second from f3 and the third from the shout [Retreat] If I get zerged which has happened (hopefully my team is close by) I can do two things one is use my elite skill [Renewed Focus] Or switch to mace/Shield which give me two more defensive skills [Protecters strike] or [Shield of absorption]. But lets get back to the fight once I use [Zealots Defense] Which tend to be the 1st burst I use the enemy usually tries to disengage again that is when I use [Judges Intervention] to close the distance cause cd and still have one dodge left but usually by this time it would already be back to two (depending on the fight). If they use another disengage i’d use [Cleansing Flames] to continue the DPS. If they immobilize me [Judges intervention] and [Flashing blades] is very useful for making up space. This is just a little example of a fight where even though I don’t have much HP the Aegis with the heals per use and the elite and shield and mace skills give me survivability in a fight.
This build doesn’t rely only on the burst of [Zealots Defense] but also on the damage of [Zealots Flames] [Cleansing Flames] and [Sword of Wrath] and lets not forget the spirit shield which makes all range skills ineffective. Even in close range if any class uses a ranged weapon my Spirit Shield makes short work of the incoming DPS.
Carry on, and kitten go sleep. game is not worthy too waste you’re energy, yet.
