While reading the general discussion forums someone posted a topic about moving forward in GW2 and giving an idea about the rebuilding of Orr. They suggested since GW2 has a living story to show how Orr was rebuilding because Zhaitan was defeated and maybe showing that in a new season. Well I LOVED the idea and started thinking of stories to show how Orr would rebuild. In that post I gave a few ideas but I still feel the creative juices flowing so decided to start a new post with a little more detail. There are issues with this because new players still have to experience the story but maybe there is a way around this by adding a new zone in the southern part of Orr and since LS are going to be permanent from now on (I think) maybe this can be done.
Thinking of a good way to show how Orr would rebuild while still keeping with the lore of GW2 I thought it would be nice to focus around trying to call back the gods. A new city was built in southern Orr to try and heal the island. The citizens wanting to reconnect with their fallen gods build a new temple to call on them and rebuild their kingdom. Trying to find a way to call back their gods this city becomes obsessed and follow ANY means to get what they want. Since they stopped thinking logically and were only focused on their obsession they start a ritual but it ends with unforeseen consequences.
The ritual calls unwanted creatures (ideas?) who’s only intentions are to destroy. The city realizing their mistakes feel guilty and vow to defend all of Tyria and stop the spread of the creatures (ideas!). Since southern Orr borders the Unending Ocean it would be a great way to introduce the Largos maybe making a small outpost? They are affected by these creatures (help! Ideas!) and are also in the fight to stop them from spreading.
Like it? Don’t like it? If anyone has anything to add on or maybe want to throw ideas out there just for fun FEEL FREE! I made this topic to have some fun with the living story and get creative juices flowing!

Yeah Just used the search engine before posting after post I looked around and found another post. Well I hope it gets resolved because I have been running MM build since GW1 and I don’t want to move to any other build/class (I love the MM) and this bug greatly affects how effective this build runs.

I am sure this issue has come up in the past but I will be bringing it to light again. I have used the search in topics but didn’t find any topic up so ill start one. The minions for the necromancers are not very responsive when I command them to attack. Both with the staff and daggers they just stand. Sometimes they are very responsive and I click to attack an enemy and they run the first click but many times they do not. More times they just stand there rather then attack. Can you please look into this issue because it drastically affects my gameplay.

I think this would be a very cool idea to see Orr heal. The healing of Orr has to be balanced by not affecting the story for new players but at the same time giving the island a feel that it is being rebuilt. Would it be possible to add a new area in the island of Orr? Maybe a new temple can be built with a new city being built along side. An event of the temple could be a failed attempt to summon the gods and it goes terribly wrong and evil monsters get summoned instead! The new city trying to defend itself from this new evil. Maybe the new area will have more influence of the mysterious Largos since it is an island bordering the Unending Ocean. More brainstorming would have to be done but these are just a few ideas.
My honest opinion to fixing this would be making timers for failing and completing an event the same. Simple and to the point. At the same time I don’t know how coding works so there might be things that seem simple but are more complex.
Open discussion if respectful always a +1 in my book.
I hope it is a fix to the TP the light/mid/heavy armor sorting and maybe also attack/vitality/condition damage. Almost always when looking to start new builds I have wiki open to know which armor has what stats. A new player to player trade option would be nice.

I am sure A-Net has no problems with farming the issue is creating toxicity because purpose failing. Honestly I am very optimistic about the changes that will be made I am sure only the reset timers will be looked to be changed. Sadly not everyone thinks like us @Iconik just yesterday a group was trying to change the way we ran the farm. We had a split for a bit. Luckily the responsible group (us) won that tug-of-war but that won’t always be the case (and in that time that (other) group sent me quite a bit of hate whispers). Sadly sometimes greed overpowers people and they look at gain over others. A-Net understands the issue and they like farmers imo because we give life to zones with our farms be optimistic in the changes and lets try to have faith in A-Net.
Again imo only thing that should be changed is FAILURE TIMER. I love to farm the event and I love farming in general I just don’t like the toxicity created when people try to fail. Please A-Net don’t change the original start timer ONLY the failure time (not a demand but a plea). Please! Or how the scaling/drop system works.

Honestly I don’t feel that would be an appropriate solution because you get a good amount of bags when event scales up. Imo leave timer as is and change fail to normal timer so no benefit is gained from failing and you get the last three champion drops if you succeed. So more bags if you win. (and thanks for sarcasm)
So what you are saying is “Please anet nerf this farm because its too profitable”. Not everyone plays TP or can afford to buy gold with real money like you. You gave perfect solution to the problem, and if ArenaNet increases fail event timer then that will be nothing more but proof that they want us to buy gems with real money.

To be fair OP, this is ANet we’re talking about.
They delivered a lot more content with less staff in Guild Wars 1.
Lets not forget GW1 only time was open world was in city hubs. Whenever you left towns it was all private instances makes producing new content a lot easier.

The toxic environment that it created is what I am trying to avoid most of all in Frostgorge Sounds. Again I only have issue with timer everything else imo should stay. Coil only works if you can get a group together which is not very easy to start. Normally means cooperation between current train (wurm etc..) and group looking to run event. But that is half the fun (sometimes) in MMO the ability to cooperate and join together as one.

Players wanted to complete events for daily in blix example and train would attack them for wanting to finish. Coil event is living story event so hinders the living story.
Some people want to try and justify exploiting events.
Agreed they have to reorganize the TP imo to make searching for items a bit easier. Example armor types/stat based (power/heal power etc..) When in TP in most cases I have guild wiki on also just to know what type of armor to search and what have what stats.
To start i’d like to explain my intentions. Bringing this exploit to the forums I hope to stop the spread of toxic behavior before it escalates and turns to another blix scenario. I do this because I love to farm it brings me hours of enjoyment and i’d like to be in an environment that is not full of toxic behavior (abuse). Already I see this escalating and feel that no mater how much I advocate respectful behavior and cooperative play alone I can not stop this from growing. Sadly some people think more of their own personal gains even if it hurts others.
Today while farming in my favorite farming spot Frostgorge Sounds I was sadden to see the folks that exploited blix jump to “my” beautiful home. Breaking the ice which is a great and fun event was being exploited the same way as blix. People were PURPOSELY FAILING the event because the reset timer was shorten. This type of play “style” gives a bad reputation to the farming community as a whole and helps to create toxic behavior (toxic being attacks on those that want to finish the event). Breaking the ice is a great way to farm it brings another level of play to the normal train (warm/drake/troll/trio) it adds excitement,cooperation and camaraderie to a farming experience that can sometimes be mundane.
Already when I was attempting to start Breaking the ice a.k.a Coil runs the regular train (wurm/drake/troll) attacked me for trying. After a while they noticed that I was not one of the exploiters and actually apologized to me saying that they only attacked me because before I had logged in another person was trying to set up Coil runs and was attacking the regular train because nobody wanted to join him on the exploit (check A-Net logs for proof 8/27/14 around 9-11am). I completely understood their frustration and we actually ran a few Coil runs and regular train runs together but it won’t always end with a happy ending. Running Coil runs/wurm/drake/quaggon/troll/trio is a great way to farm you get the most bang for your buck. None stop farming that is both profitable and exciting/cooperative. Farmers are not all exploiters they like to farm because they find it fun but when their fun hinders others from having fun (exploit)(purpose fail) then the whole map can turn into a toxic stew.
Please developers I ask as a loyal fan and avid farmer please help fix the timer. The drops are great they are the reason for me to spend time trying to rally my fellow players to run the event and scale it up (I tend to be leading (commander) the events with a few other great commanders) but the timer is whats the problem. Please make the timer for failing and completion the same that way the exploiters will have no reason to stay and my fellow farmers can enjoy the map it was meant to be played (completion of events).
P.S Fellow forum users I know everyone has their opinions good/bad about farmers but this isn’t about farming its about exploits everyone can play the game the way they want but force failing because timer is off is an exploit. At least I THINK (imo) most would agree.

Honestly I really don’t like this idea. Diablo ran a similar type of system and I ended up getting the same armor everyday. Also I love to run my MM and I like being able to still be able to find gear for my guardian or Mesmer when running with my MM. Obviously these are personal reasons and don’t know if anyone agrees but these are my general concerns with this feature.

More people come to the complaint threads (if only because a lot of people have a variety of complaints) and these are the threads where people are most likely to be unreasonable – myself included – and that means these are the threads where we’re most likely to see you come out in defense of the game?
Only the unreasonable ones. When people start using hyperbole to try to make points, I try to call them on it. Point out that’s what they’re doing. It’s easy to incite with words.
A lot of people in this thread are trying to say nothing is being done, nothing is coming out, nothing is happening. I don’t believe that.
I also don’t believe we’ve gotten an expansion’s worth of content.

I think that the point should be CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Everyone will have an opinion some good and some bad that is what makes this such a great experience to be able to bring up debates and have respectful dialog but saying “this is sinking ship/precursor this that/not enough content” (because you don’t give it worth) doesn’t help moving forward. Some things can be made and others can’t we don’t understand the game as a whole we see one thing but forget that ONE thing affects the WHOLE game. The domino effect. True A-Net need to improve communication because that is why things have gotten so out of hand but lets look at all the topics going on NOW. Developers understand and are trying to move forward why do we still have to stay in the past. I feel that I have to defend more then actually be a part of constructive debates because of the amount of people in the forums who’s only purpose is to attack. Developers have made comments and five post attack them right after. Think would you want to be a part of that post if that was the resolute? Smart comments (smart as in sarcastic) and verbal abuse?

Regarding your last posts it is obvious that you are a pessimist seeing that you don’t like Southsun Cove because you do guild missions/kill world boss/farm/explore new area/story lol what do you want from a PvE area magic unicorns that let you ride them and get precursors for 2s? And lets not forget they don’t ONLY focus on PvE so resources will be split and refocused when everyone get a fair share.
I wonder why you have to be so hyperbole. As for your initial post: “New maps every few weeks”. Let’s see, 3 maps added the last two years. So every 34 weeks, they add another map. One could say that 34 still counts as few, but I do not.
Let’s get to Southsun Cove then, shall we? You can explore the area once and you don’t get anything for doing so. The world boss can be killed once every day, unless you feel so obligated to kill the Queen more than once per day. That said, the Queen could spawn on any map, it wouldn’t help the fact that the map itself lacks meaningful activities.
As for farming, yes you can farm T6 mats, but neither is farming effective, nor can you do that all day, nor will get rich by doing so.
And as I said in my inital post, Guild Missions can only completed once per week, unless you feel obligated to do them more than once per week. That, said, it isn’t even assured that you get Southsun as Guild Mission.
And there is no story anymore on Southsun.
And yes, I would like to have unicorns, even though I prefer chocobos.
But yeah, keep talking about how incredibly meaningful this map is.

Wow we get a reason for why it was take down (atlas) and people complain… Sometimes I feel people jump on the “hate train” to make friends rather then give constructive criticism.
80+ level for me is a grind I would not want that to happen. People belittle the content because they don’t like it. Only complain I have not making living story permanent but they have fixed that issue. People don’t like the standers of this game which they are getting FREE they should move on. Constructive criticism is good rage/hate trolling isn’t. GW2 developers haven’t been sleeping for 2 years. They care about the game just as much as we do maybe MORE because it is their livelihood. People just don’t like the content or complain because it isn’t what THEY wanted and they cry about it. Look at precursor for proof of that.
If your going to leave just leave why try to come to the forums and say it? you want people to go with you or something? People attack EotM turning to a karma farm well dang who’s fault is that the players who PLAY the map that way or the developers. Just because you don’t like something doesnt mean other don’t.

AS much as I would love new races/skills/traits/classes, I’m pretty content with the Living Story stuff. My only huge beef with this game is earning gold, but that’s my own problem. (Seriously Geno. 2 years and you just only recently gotten the Golden Title? Come on man…)

When I look at the map for Tyria I get optimistic because every few weeks a new area is being added and can’t wait to see ALL areas being made explorable. The end result will be grand. After all of Tyria is explorable is when I would want to add a new continent, there is still so much more that can be added here. And it all being free doesn’t hurt either :P . Having a story based outlook opens up the path to new continents and civilizations. And that is something GW does very good! In my opinion.
You must be new here. The game is now 2 years old and we got 3 new maps. And they’re hardly more exciting than the already existing ones.

i wished they add the traits template to the feature pack, just like in GW1.
+1 I hate having to manually change builds from WvW/PvE/sPvP if they could be saved like in GW1 that would save me a lot of headache X.X

The major questions imo will be who starts the alliance how will they start definitely going to need a brainstorm. Maybe an alliance tab where only each guild leaders can change information. But again definitely going to need a brainstorming session.
Good to see this is something that is finally being talked about in a positive way by the community, i’ve been advocating for an alliance system for over a year now!
I’ll be fighting along side you brother! Alliance system would be something I would really like to see and feel would add a whole new element to the game. We are fighting the same fight! 
After catching up with the discussion for the MOST part I am so glad to see the way the forum community is heading. People are coming together for a common goal in giving CONSTRUCTIVE and RESPECTFUL criticism and in return we get more and more developers joining in the conversations. You don’t have to be a “whiteknight” to be respectful and it seems we as a community are starting to understand. (my personal view, obviously I can’t talk for everyone) Just want to say thank you to everyone involved both developers and my brothers and sisters in game!
The two GOOD points IMO. 1.) Game content regardless if is temporary or permanent IS still content. Have respect for the developers who work on them and don’t throw them to garbage just because it came and left. 2.) LS CONTENT should be permanent because it helps to grow the game in replay value and some people have a life outside of GW2 and that takes priority over GW2. Having said that GW2 being a great development team learn from their mistake and will be making LS1 permanent and have shown moving forward they will be keeping the content of the living story (permanent).
Again, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again I don’t feel like this really happened. Disconnected because internet problems that as far as my personal opinion goes with this post. OP you should still be kind if all they wanted was a picture just move for one sec and then get back to the fun. I don’t want to sound like a broken record player so this is probably my last comment on this issue. No reason to up vote this anymore.

Well I will say this I have been playing guild wars since the second week of launch and have been giving my FULL support to the development team but the day that I get kick from the game even ONCE because I was in the way of a PICTURE as much of a d*** or whatever you want to call that then it is the day I leave guild wars and quick! If I am harassing or being disrespectful ok I will understand but because of a picture or because I don’t want to leave an area of the game then I find that, that is an abuse of power and I won’t be a part of power hungry people. My 2cents on the issue and like I said before I don’t condone the actions of the OP or condone a**h*** behavior. If I was in the street and called a cop a b**** and I got arrested then i’d go back to cuba! Obviously not the same thing but I like to think GW2 is like the free world and not Cuba…..

You own it more then the person who pirates it. The same for playing in a public field. I play Futbol or soccer for americans and we have to buy permits to give us the “right” to play there. It is mostly so they are not liable if we get hurt but we “own” the right to play there.
The rights given to you will be clearly stated. There is no implied rights. You still own nothing of the software.
I am a software writer / vendor myself and have dealt with solicitors when drawing up terms & conditions, etc. I would be very upset to find anyone who bought my software thought they had some say over it. They do not. Their rights are spelled out in the licence they purchase.

About justice being a human concept maybe or maybe not but compassion and love is very much universal. All animals have a sense of compassion and love see any animal documentary and that is obvious! Chimpanzees for examples when another is attacked or “sad” they walk up and hug and groom them for them to feel better it is a FACT. Justice you can debate but compassion and love are universal just how fear and anger are universal.

if anet chooses the topic, we player get a feeling of what you are working on and where you (devs) feel the need for community help, which i believe is far more productive than a topic needed but far way down the road.
if really used as such, this is a perfect way to tell and talk about upcoming features and players get a hang of the moving direction.
