No, it’s not 1000, or even 10,000, it’s100,000 drinks. Contrary to what they said at launch, it just seems like Anet is making this game more and more of a grind, at the expense of the fun. I still think it’s the best mmo around, but things like this are just frustrating. Everyone enjoys finding the little loopholes and tricks. It’s a valid part of the game as long as it doesn’t give anyone an advantage over another player or cause imbalance.
100,000 is kind of absurd with this new fix. Using the current cheapest drink on the TP it would take 290g worth of drinks to get this, in addition to the 100,000 spam clicks you’d have to do. They should reduce it down to 1000, like the food achievement.
I don’t understand… don’t you just have to drink 1000 drinks for this achivement? how is it any different then the food one?
I’ve gotten some banners. Other guildies have gotten ascended accessories from guild bounties. It gets awarded with the award chest.
It is simple. The nice people who usually run the event and keep the dungeon open for you, well they are enjoying the new content, SAB. If you don’t have people there to keep it open then it stays contested. It is not just CoF, a bunch of events have had a fall off of players since SAB opened. It will return to normal in about a week once most players have the skin they are looking for.
To bad they were the only thing I liked about the event, due to the fact that I hate jumping puzzles. Guess I’ll just throw out my 240 baubles now.
Zone 1 and 2 are hardly jumping puzzles. if your face is capable of hitting the spacebar you won’t have any trouble getting all the baubels you need.
Game Over.
This is a very fun holiday (April Fools is a holiday to Anet) event, which I will certainly enjoy for April. However if it is left in the game more then a month the novelty will wear off and people will expect something new next year. The way it is situated right now they can spend a lot of time and resources on Holiday content this year, and then the major groundwork will be laid for all future holiday events. This means in subsequent years they will be able to focus heavily on GW lore related content which this game needs more of, and still have these full multi week holiday events without having to put much more effort in.
It does the same thing it did in all the Mario style games.
There’s also TWO chests, both are located in the same area between checkpoints. the first one (inside the stump) is obvious enough…but that bloody second one!
Also there’s 3 baubles in the dark forest, where you have to use the candle to find your way. I hate how you only know you’ve completed it after you break the cage.
Anet, scold the developer who hid that second chest, it was driving me insane why I wasn’t getting 100% on zone 2.
There’s a second chest??? GAHHH, well that explains my waste of an hour…
Where is the “obvious” chest? I got the one hidden high up in a nook, never saw one in a stump though. I only got the 1 key so I didn’t even think to look for a second chest.
I agree. Just spent an hour in zone 2, got over 200 baubels, but no achieve after I killed the boss. or at least an option to stay after you kill the boss. or ability to get the achieve before you kill the boss.
It is seasonal content. It will be back next year. It means we get all the content every year for one year of work. Hopefully this means next year we will get much more permanent content.
www.gw2lfg.com we already have a comprehensive well crafted, buggless lfg tool.
SAB is aimed at people who play games for fun and not as a job. That’s really the only demographic distinction here.
make sure you weren’t in infantile mode for any of them. They have to be done in normal mode for that achieve. That’s the only thing I can think of.
In Infantile Mode, mobs drop a spinning box with flowers painted on it. Jumping on it does nothing. Are we supposed to collect something from it? Is it a bug?
those are “food” and they restore your health. If you are at full health they do nothing and just stay on the ground for future use if you need them.
Its okay, I have found every single hidden room. Now I just wish my ’Baby’s first Adventure’ achievement didn’t bug out at 96% :S
That happened to any of you guys?
you probably missed the shop in zone 1 in baby mode. you have to go into one of the shops for one of the achieves for that one.
I used baby mode to get to some of the harder to reach shops to buy things. Specifically when I had enough to buy my slingshot but didn’t want to spend 10 minutes fighting my way through frogs and monkeys.
Wow I feel really poor after reading this thread. I have never played the TP, I have a job, I can’t sit around and watch price fluctuations all day unfortunately.
After 700 hours played I have Bolt, and T3 armor, and currently 15g to my name. I have a stack of ectos lying around as well, getting ready to upgrade my backpack.
Same skins, they will be pretty worthless by the end of the month. I made 100% profit on the upswing though…. too bad I only had 20g. oh well, better luck next time.
This is probably the least grindy thing in the game lol. You can get 250 baubels in like 5 minutes in Zone 1. Plus you get Baubel Baubels directly from chests.
If you are solo run circles around her and hit her at the completion of her spin attack. There is enough pause after the spin to get 3 hits in with the stick. Also you can lob bombs at her from a distance if you aren’t good at circle strafing.
I don’t understand… did someone shove you through the portal or something? There is an exit area button at the bottom of the screen. Participation is completely optional.
The people who balance classes had absolutely no input, experience or time put into this mini-game. This was done by a very small team of JP creators over the last few months.
If you want to play your class there are 30+ zones, a dozen PvP maps, 1000’s of DE’s, and a bunch of dungeons created for just that purpose. There is no bonus of stat increase for playing this new mini-game so don’t participate if it isn’t your cup of tea.
Hey all, hate to be the one to do this but it needs addressing.
At present, the continue coins are useless. Why, you ask? Well, if you’re in a group and you lose all your lives, you can simply exit the box and dive back in at the last checkpoint without having to use a coin. Really useful for the Toad King if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Also, put a checkpoint before ninja bridge in the rapids.
there actually is a check point. when everyone in your party gets that far a bouncy mushroom spawns near the beginning that lets you bounce straight up to the collapsible bridges. It’s pretty easy to miss though.
There is a brief clip in the commercial of what looks like zone 1 of a bunny tornado. Has anyone actually triggered this? I’m curious on how to make it happen, and what it does.
(Its around 0:31 in the video)
Try this guide for a start:
The tree right at the start is a common one to miss.
There are 4 baubels in the maze, jump on top and look down to see if you missed any.
Those are the two spots people seem to be missing most often. Also remember you don’t get the achieve until after you beat the final boss.
speed run 3 zones = 6 baubel baubels. takes about 15 minutes once you have it down. repeat on 9 characters. 3 hours is about right. you just need to have a lot of alts.
Also it was open before daily reset, so you could theoretically have done it on 5 characters.
That’s also not counting exchanging normal baubels.
thanks, worked great, got both achievements.
not yet released. Hopefully soon.
it scales. no idea why it says you need 5. I’ve beaten it solo.
slingshot right near the end of world 3. Not sure on the others. Also does the heart container even count as an upgrade?
Completely neglecting an entire class for this content is inexcusable, regardless of the reason.
I have to agree with this. I’ve finished it once, but I probably won’t ever do it again since there is nothing for me in it.
EDIT: But, I guess it is april fools. So, april fools to all of you engies out there lol.
He just said they were going to release more skins with each world. So you’ll just be giving yourself less time to get them once they are released if you stop now.
buy the bombs, they are in there for a reason
It is fairly easy actually. If you don’t mind “incapacitating” skill point NPC’s then you have all of world exploration for experience. If you don’t want to do that then you are limited to the other 50 or so things that award experience in this game. Reviving, and gathering are your best bets. make sure you complete the dailies associated with those things for extra experience.
I’d buy up all the pre-cursors and ACTUALLY control the precursor market so that all those whiners on the trading forum would understand what real manipulation was like as they suffered under my iron fist.
I wanted to stockpile up on Continue coins so I did about 20 JP’s. Got 0 Coins. Got frsutrated and went to do some of the meta events. Did 3 events, got 3 coins.
yeah… John Smith has conclusively shown that the ecto market is not currently, nor could it ever be controlled…. nice try though.
yeah we don’t need that crap in our game, that is why we have WvW.
Great! So now you can unlock those missions faster and still not remotely be able to muster up the manpower to do the actual missions for commendations in your small guild!
Awesome design anet have my babies
If you can’t muster up 5 people to do the missions then maybe you should get some more friends? I mean 5 people is just a single group.
This is especially true if you just want comms and don’t care about completing the missions for merits. It takes a decent amount of skill to complete T1 bounties with only 5 people, but to only kill 1 guy for the weekly comms it is trivial with 5 people.
With 10 people you can complete T1(Trivial)/T2(somewhat of a challenge) Bounties, Guild Trek (trivial, did T3 with 5 people), Guild Rush (10 people should be plenty).
I haven’t tried Challenge or Puzzle Yet, but you can unlock both of them with a guild of 10 people at almost the same rate as larger guilds due to weekly caps and build times.
I managed to get 30/50 in 3 months of fairly regular play with no outside help. I only ever grouped with people twice. There was one mission I couldn’t get the bonus on by myself, though i’m sure it’s possible, and once to hatch my black moa chick I got a group to help.
Other then that I managed to do everything by myself. When I needed money to buy my way to points I did the mission “Auspicious Beginnings”, Think I ran it 500 times or so, but I was able to buy 15 points that way. once you get good at it you can run it 10 times an hour without a problem.
Today i saw 4 bots farming in one tricky spawn location (they even teleport to mobs).
My first idea was report them, but then i remember that they are the ONLY mat offerers in ALL game because its hell more profit farm 5g/hour in cof P1 that farm mats, because its imposible to do that!
I want to farm the things i need. Not farm gold to BUY things i need. But that, in the current game state, its literaly imposible. The time/item exchange its insane for almost all materials, specialy precursors, T6 and lodestones.
The gold/item exchange in tp its just a derivation of the real problem. But I make 5+g off selling mats from orr… am i doing it wrong?
I don’t think that’s per hour or is it?
I get 5g/h in orr. It’s a little harder since they buffed pen/shelter, but still possible.
The price was wayyyyy too high after that speculation. The truth is not many people have multiple level 80’s, so the supply didn’t drop nearly as much as people expected.
Im honestly shocked it worked given how much is tied into guilds.
Asking a steady big guild to do away with their home world for a new one means they have to start again from scratch on everything. Kinda whack imo.
Either that or a bunch of solo’s / small guilds moved which seems more likely.
why would they have to start from scratch?
If the super adventure box is just for April fools it will be the biggest letdown in MMO history and won’t be funny at all. A lot of people are really looking forward to that, and it seems much too elaborate to be a joke.
If they are too high then make one in the forge and list it on the TP for a price you think is “fair”.
oh, what’s that? you would sell it for as high as possible to get more money for yourself…
If those super adventure skins are the reward then I envision myself spending 100’s of hours in this puzzle if that’s what it takes… though I doubt it will… it only took me 4 tries to get the mad king jumping puzzle.
I agree that the mad king puzzle was the best content in this game so far. I can’t wait to see what awesomeness is in this new world.
I think this has been fixed now, but it is pretty lame that people who had already completed the PvP monthly didn’t get a chance at these 10 laurels.
If you managed to squeeze in the PvP monthly before this got fixed – grats. If you didn’t do the PvP monthly when you had the chance, even though you might not have known that it would’ve netted you 10 additional laurels, then consider it an opportunity missed. If you already had the PvP monthly done and didn’t even get the chance at these 10 laurels, then you’re just SOL.
It hasn’t been “fixed” nor will it be. It’s similar to what we saw in January and February.
January: The daily was changed (laurels added). If you did the daily before the patch, then you could do the daily again after the patch and get a laurel for that day only (and a second jug of karma and mystic coin).
February: The daily was changed (rotation added). If you did the daily before the patch, it reset with the patch due to the change and you could do it again after, allowing you to get 2 laurels, jugs of karma, and mystic coins for that day only.
March: PvP daily/monthly changed to allow you to get laurels from either the PvP or the PvE daily/monthly, but not both. Tracking system is added with the update. Therefore, if you did the PvE daily, but not the PvP daily before the update, you were able to do the PvP daily to get a second laurel. Similarly, if you did the PvE monthly before the update but not the PvP monthly, then you are able to do the PvP monthly and get 10 laurels.
This will almost definitely not be “fixed” but rather is only something that happened on the 26th for the daily and in March for the monthly. In April you will only be able to get 10 laurels either from the PvE or the PvP monthly.
Pretty much exactly this ^^
It is only a problem for the next 2 days, then you’ll never have to worry about it. I know i’m never going to get 3 tournament wins by the end of the month so i’m not letting it bother me.
My T3 set is exotic… transmute harder.
NOW = no.
In upcoming patches will Warriors see some changes? = yes.
Man you warriors are totally screwed now. Johnathan last frequented the thief forum with some very rational and well thought out changes to stealth. He then implemented 10 changes he didn’t talk about that totally destroyed the class for PvE.
If he has his sights on you i’d suggest switching classes now,
15 chests no ticket.
It’s the most accurate data we have, so unless John is willing to give us better data I don’t see why we shouldn’t use this set of data. Of course john’s data would suffer from NCSOFT bias which is stronger then any bias we can produce on these forums.
I’m not sure what this post is about. They only nerfed the bonus rare for alts. Nothing about the chests has changed for mains. Alts can even still do they events and get the chest, they just don’t get the extra rare, they have the base chance for the rare.
Nothing has changed other then that since the last patch
