One of the main reasons I do not go for a legendary or even care to visit those JPs. I simply do not have time to try to work through an area filled with pock faced teenagers who think it is hilarious to sit and troll all day.

Some of the design decisions in this game are ridiculous. WvWvW crossing over into PvE rewards is just the tip of the iceberg.

What makes you think getting a legendary weapon is a PvE activity? It is a game mastery activity. In fact you can earn 90% of your legendary by only doing WvW.

Hmm well this is an unexpected surprise… I wasn’t expecting another update so soon.

Traps sound like an interesting idea in WvW, I don’t get all the stealth hate though.

I hope they add hearts, vistas, SP’s and more DE’s in Southsun.

There have been many things that the devs have stated they are “looking into” with the promise of a future fix. In fact there have been so many that I wanted to start this thread to keep track of them and see how many actually get fixed. I’ll start with the ones I know of off the top of my head, if you know of more please let me know and I will add them to the list.

1. Magic Find being a detriment to groups, solution is being looked into

2. Precursor scavenger hunt is being looked into

3. WvW orbs of power redesign is being looked into

4. WvW map completion is working on being alleviated.

5. WvW ranking system is being looked into

6. Visible titles option is being worked on

7. Ascended gear in WvW will come “eventually”

I know there are more but I can’t remember them or find them easily in the dev tracker, and I probably haven’t even heard of all of them.

I would gladly agree to stealth changes as soon as we get double the HP, access to defensive boons, and a damage increase so that we are on par with other damage classes that don’t have stealth.

Stealth is currently the only reason a thief can survive more then 2 seconds in any given situation, nerfing or changing stealth in any way must be accompanied by an increase in defense and HP or no one in the game will ever use a thief again.

Unless you are trying for clovers I don’t think the clover recipe is really that profitable. It costs 2g in ectos for each try, and to just make that back is luck of the draw. Obviously you won’t make that back on any of the common T6 mats except Ori. You won’t make it back on T6 Claws, Bones, Fangs, or Venoms unless you get lucky and get a high amount. So it is a gamble, but if you need clovers then it is still profitable in that regard.

AOE = dead stealth player

Arrow Cart = Destealthed and dead stealth player

Back up 10 steps = destealthed player (by the time he gets to you)

Move away from smoke fields that allow thieves to stealth = no stealth for stealth player

Immobilize = stuck in 1 spot stealth player

Spin attacks = stealth player who has to run away

Stand in an AOE field = stealth player takes damage just to get to you

There are literally dozens of ways to counter stealth, being lazy and asking for a nerf is unfortunately the most used method.

All of these work against people who aren’t stealthed too. In fact it’s harder to do area damage and spin on people who are stealthed (since you don’t know where they are).

Edit: The ‘counter’ to stealth is to avoid CnD. D/P doesn’t have such a counter.

Stealthed players can’t attack or damage you, doing so unstealths you. That is why those counters are very effective against stealth players because they can’t stop you from doing any of them unlike normal players.

D/P can only reliably cloak using blinding powder + heartseeker, which costs so much ini to use that you can only do the combo twice even with ini increasing traits. Plus it only has a range of 900 and doesn’t break immobilize. So you can easily counter it as well.

It is a very confused weapon set, 1 skill is condition dmg, 2 skill is junk, 3 skill is direct dmg with no condition dmg, 4 and 5 skill are defensive. There is no cohesion in the set and the dmg it does is subpar.

It is single target but does just as much damage as SB does but SB does it better with more utility and it hits multiple targets.

Basically p/p needs a complete rework but it just has never happened.

Skins are a crappy investment unless it is super rare like the chainsaw. Look at the other Halloween skins, 7 months of investment and all but 2 of the skins are at almost the same price. Wintersday skins have only gone down in price since December, and Lost shore skins are the same.

Warriors are massively overpowered in PVE. There are some classes that are massively underpowered in comparison.

That’s about it.

this pretty much sums it up. Also the lowest damage class is probably a condition mesmer followed by a few of the engineer builds.

No. you can use a Black Lion Salvage kit to get the rune back as well as some mats and ectos, but if you want the rune you have to destroy the item.

You can also overwrite the runes/sigils if you want to keep the armor but just change the runes/sigils.

Price on server transfer

If you are trying to get on a T1 server then the only reason to do so is WvW bandwagoning and they should increase the price even more.

If you just want to play with your friends in WvW you can transfer to a low pop world for a fraction of the cost. If you want to play with your friend in PvE/sPvP then it is free regardless of server.

They even offer free transfers to lower population worlds from time to time to keep the population balanced. There is really no grounds for complaining.

WoW has unreasonable queue times because it is a holy trinity game. There will never be a queue for a GW2 lfg no matter the implementation. Even using gw2lfg.com I never have to wait more then 30 seconds to find a group.

Some great action this morning between JQ and BG on EB. Those darn AC’s are killer, though strategies are adapting and I don’t think they are as bad as originally thought. Still need to be tweaked down a bit though.

We almost took lowlands until BG finally decided to wake up for the morning.

Because the gem store minis are limited time only items. A player starting today could never get the ones from last Halloween and and thus could never get the achievement.

Even if you could buy they from the TP, there is not guarantee that there would be supply from players.

They can keep the cap the same. The new mini’s would just replace the need to have all the other ones.

They will get automatically upgraded. In fact they already did on accident when they first introduced ascended items.

As for the original posters question It is an interesting question, but we just don’t know. If I had to guess i’d say probably not. Transmuting legendary weapons has a long history of problems and glitches.

The new chef recipes seem to have the intent of removing cheap materials from the TP. They all include 1 or 2 items that are currently very cheap. However if this was the desired effect it just isn’t going to happen. All the food has one of two problems. Either the amount of ingredients is completely out of whack (Garlic Kale recipe) or the cheap item that is supposed to get sucked up is highly limited by a much more expensive item so it won’t end up having any effect. (carrot souffle)

If these recipes were supposed to do something, they aren’t. The costs and ingredients need to be completely redone.

The new food buffs last twice as long as other food buffs i believe.

Buff = 2x as long

Cost = 20x more

There is an order of magnitude disparity between them, that is the issue.

Unless it is a GS, a Staff or a Shield skins really aren’t that good of an investment. Sure they release all these cool limited edition skins, but there are literally 1000’s of skins in the game. The demand for them just isn’t that high. The people that actually wanted them went out and got them. Pretty much all sales after the event ends are just people playing the market back and forth as far as I can tell.

Well it makes sense… they have no plans for an expansion and all the content we have heard of is made by small teams of 3-5 devs. I highly doubt they have 300 people working on GW2 based on the amount of content we’ve been getting.

If they were working on an expansion that would explain why they have so many people but put out so little content, but based on what they themselves have told us that isn’t true, so it seems logical to me.

I love my bolt, no regrets at all. It actually encouraged me to learn to play better so I could stay in melee range more and use it instead of always just switching to range.

My farming has slowed way down since then though, I just do whatever I feel is fun at the time now. Allowed me to earn my T3 armor and my (almost) fully upgraded fractal capacitor just through normal play.

I’m starting to save up for the future, but I will probably wait for new legendary weapons/armor before going for something else.

I continue to be baffled by people who log into an MMO of any kind and get upset that there are things that require group content.

do u kno what MMO stands for massive multiplayer online were does that state u must party or get out ? GW2 removed mob tagging node stealing so you could team up without the need to party >2012 gaming ftw then it forces you into a party – 2004 gaming ftw :P it needs to make up its mind is it a casual game were u run about to meet friends or a dungeon crawler as the 2nd one other games do it better…. For example WoW I can go mess about do quests farm do old raids w/e I want then pop dungeon finder found a match and I’m in a dungeon same for Rift and SWTOR from what I remember. in GW2 u need to stop what your doing go to the map and beg ppl to join.

Why couldn’t the new dungeon be made around a solo gamer like 99% of the story I managed to solo up to the fire boss but its impossible to kill to much dmg

The massively part? The Multi-player part? the online part?

All 3 of those letters imply that you will be expected to interact with other players.

If you are having trouble getting a group try www.gw2lfg.com. i’m not sure if they’ve added the new dungeon yet or not, but unlike WoW or TOR or Rift it only takes 10-30 seconds to get a group using that tool instead of 10-30 minutes.

Every 25% of the boss’s health, the other boss gets 50 stacks of a damage buff. Hit him to remove a stack. If this is on the dredge firestorm, he will do a ton of damage to players near him, but it is hard (impossible?) to see. Just know its coming and swap to hit him to remove his stacks.

Actually if you ignore him entirely and don’t do any dmg to him the buff goes away faster then you could remove it. The best strategy is to not hit him with any attacks at all until you down the berserker.

Well I played WvW for 2 hours last night. In that two hours we didn’t even manage to take a supply camp because going within 10,000 range of any objective instantly resulted in the deaths of 20-30 people from AC’s. It was just zerg vs zerg in the open field and that only lasted for the 10-15 seconds it took for people to build AC’s in the field and then that was over too. After spending 1.5 hours of my two hour play running back from being killed by AC’s me and about 60% of the other WvW players left.

My opinion about Ascended gear.

Is there a build available utilizing this stat lineup that wouldn’t be inferior to the stats we already have? I’m wondering what class would use this stuff and not be at a disadvantage compared to other gear choices.

That depends entirely on how you define inferior. This set will keep you alive longer then any other set in the game. If you are bad at dodging or need more survivability then this set is good for you. If the only thing you care about is how big your damage numbers are, then this set is not as good as other sets.

This is also a question I’m wondering. It costs about 170g to buy all the dyes currently. If the packs are going to remain i’ll buy them slowly but if they are going to be removed for all of eternity then I will fork over the money now before the prices rise again.

we should ask Colin and his team to form a 30+ zerg and do these Orr temple event…maybe they will see how ridiculous these events has became since the patch.

It is very unlikely they actually tested these changes before implementing them. Especially considering how unskilled at the game the QA testers are… some of their highlights were:

1. Before launch they couldn’t successfully complete explorable mode dungeons. They said they were tuned to be super difficult and they weren’t good enough to complete them.
2. More recently, they stated they were unable to successfully complete some of the guild challenges because they were so challenging and required perfect coordination and teamwork.

So yeah… it is almost a certainty that they did not test these changes because they aren’t skilled enough to complete them.

I got a recipe in the new dungeon for some garlic kale food. It gave +40% condition duration and +70 condition damage. Great food but completely unreasonable to make. It costs:

20 heads of garlic
40 kale leaves
1 jar of dressing
(something else that isn’t important)

the kale and the garlic alone cost over a gold on the TP… 1 gold for a 1hr buff is kind of absurd. Even cutting it down to 2 garlic and 4 kale would still be expensive, but at least manageable. I don’t know if it is just this recipe or all the new ones, but the ingredient costs need a serious adjustment.

If it isn’t CoF the devs don’t really want you doing it. They don’t even bother hiding behind a DR system anymore, they straight up just add super powerful enemies that have a 0% chance to drop loot and remove the enemies that do drop loot.

If you enjoy WvW they’ve added ranks and progression there.

If you like sPvP they’ve just added custom arenas and spectator mode

The Flame and Frost storyline is in its final phase. You can do all the phases right now, should take a day to complete if you play a lot. Interesting story line there.

Guild missions are a lot of fun, bigger guilds have all the missions unlocked at this point, smaller guilds are still working on it.

World bosses now award a rare item 100% of the time so they are much more heavily played. If you haven’t seen all the world bosses you should check those out. there are some sites out there with timers and windows for the events.

Those are the major features over the past few months. There have been a ton of bug fixes as well, and some major balance changes.

It would be quite a short battle… a thief actually knows how stealth works and how to easily counter it, if you are in stealth you are doing no damage but you are still taking full dmg. I love when a thief stealths, the question is not where he will appear, but rather, where will he appear downed so I can finish him off.

You can use pulls to physically pull him out of the circle, or you can just back up and he will chase you out of the circle. The trouble is that the actual circle is bigger then the animation, he needs to be a couple body lengths past the animation before his shield will drop off.

To make a nemesis that everyone in the game hates just do the following:

Step 1: create a cut scene with said nemesis.
Step 2: In said cut scene have said nemesis kill 1 baby quaggan
Step 3: After killing said baby quaggan, have the nemesis exclaim: “I Balance the classes in GW2”

Step 4: Watch as the player base attempts to disembowel the nemesis and make continuous death threats against her.

Bottom line, IMHO, confusion in its current state isn’t good for anything other than supplemental damage and/or tagging people in WvW. It certainly doesn’t make a difference in a fight.

I wish that was true… my confusion no longer does enough damage to tag people in WvW, I just flat out don’t get credit for kills anymore, can’t stack up enough damage on people with it.

I’ve been trying it out in PvE, but it seems inferior to Pistol Whip. The evade is too short and it only hits 1 target.

This is boon redistribution, not boon stacking. Thieves can’t share boons, they can’t keep them up 100% and they can’t choose which boons they get.

Something to keep in mind is that Anet hates people with alts.
-Many rewards such as dragon chests are account bound so you can only get the reward on your main, not your alt.
-Also the new achievement reward for living story is 1 time only so you can’t get it for alts.
-DR applies to alts, so if you run a dungeon or farm on your main you can’t run it on your alt.
-The currency to buy ascended gear is all account bound as well, meaning alts will almost never be able to get ascended gear because you can only earn the currency at a painfully slow rate designed for 1 character.

So if you make an alt just keep in mind that Anet will do anything that is possible to slow your progress down and try to make you only play one character.

Ran it 3 times on one character and saw no change in chest drops. All the drops are from the chests and as far as I know there is no limit on chest rewards for dungeons.

They backed off the “expansion worth of content” fairly quick. It was a gimmick that the marketing department forced the devs to use, against the devs wishes. Once the backlash started (almost immediately) they convinced the marketing department it was a bad idea and to drop it.

So if you want to blame someone blame the marketing department. All this was hinted at in a dev post shortly after they brought it up.
