Mostly for escaping/mobility. Swap, free dodge, shadow Shot. Daggers sure are fine too. In parties it means clusterbombing with nice bleeds, but overall AoE poison and very important weakness. We need this when outnumbered. Also pretty OP cripple with evades. SB is the most underrated weapon in this game. I dont like hydromancy as it uses to reveal me when i really dont want to be revealed.

What role can you find for a full conditionbuild with P/D? The pressure is laughable compared to all other classes with strong conditionbuilds.
This one is a try to put on the bleedpressure and still having high direct dps due to 50% critchance and 84% critical damage.
It fills the role most P/D builds have way better than they do. Trolling, annoying and in this case even dealing damage.
The survivability is even better than the normal “Wild Bill” and with all the crippling on crits you can severly annoy other thieves, mesmers and eles.

And if it doesnt do the job in a party setup well, what P/D build does better?
Roaming solo you will sure be a bigger thread than the “sneak attack spamming P/D-trolls” out there atm.

The meta was established along with jumpers build in tPvP and exported to WvW back in december though.

As for D/P thieves: when I see one I slot scorpion wire and also use throw dagger with basivenom to stun in blinding powder. After I used those two combobreakers I laugh my kitten off when they either die or run away in panic.

D/P still was meta months before that.

Yishis has videos of himself playing the D/P meta months before he replied to yours.
His comment aknowledged the smart use of runes and heal and how you managed to HS 4x and withdraw forward.

I know that because it made me reconsider my sympathy for yhishis, promoting broken buildplay.

Maybe you will realize that your engineer has everything he needs to kill thieves.

Get over it and if applied to you shadow step away. Our ability to disengage whenever we want is too strong and it is a nice debuff to D/P nabs.

I have been thinking about this for a while now.
Due to low base dps on pistols, the loss of around 500 power is not too severe. You will be critting all the time and stacking huge amounts of bleeds that will tick around 75-92 depending on might stacks. The boonripping uses to be pretty neat to break down bunkers.
Shadow strike will also deal a pretty good amount of damage while prividing aditional torment dps.
Survivability should be pretty awesome, having almost perma vigor and good heals in stealth.

In a party you can venomshare, what will be buffed pretty well with the next patch

Its a first go on it and will be thought over a few times before I give it a try.

When you see a thief jumping and stealthing on your clones when you are downed, he probably is not trying to stomp you. You might want to keep this in mind.

Despite I do not agree with his summary of Xuns video, he really has a point when it comes to Ele and the state of the game with torment and perplexity in a conditionmeta.

Yesterday I played ele for the first time in 4 weeks again. Sure I succeeded in most of my enterprises and won some 1v2 and 1v3 but I would with any class. I really noticed again how the conditionburst hurts Ele more than anyone else.

My thief and my warrior laugh about the condition meta. With the ele, engages without many other eles and guardians near you will end up being pingponging from 30% to 70% and back to 30% all the time. Making you very vulnerable to burst.

Regarding gold or silver league: AM has been rank 11 for like 20 weeks in a row now. That leaves us in a sweet spot for silver and in a terrible spot for gold league. We can “compete” with servers on rank 6 or 7 but we don’t really win those encounters (we usually get some ranking points for looking better than expected though).

We do have a number of players that want to play gold actually, but in my personal opinion that would be wrong. Just look at this match: The initial points gain of this match (that showed us on rank 9 for a short time) has already been smoked and we dropped back to 11 (what a surprise !). This is where our server is, if you ask me.

Noone, no matter the rank, can compete the sheer numbers of Viz and SFr. However Viz is enjoyable to fight against. Fighting SFr is just pain. deep pain. Laggs and huge zergs everywhere, bad attitude and no single true roaming guild that wont stick the zerg.

Still I think that AM belongs to the Gold league. I really really hope you go up to 9th rank. Oh boy, I do hope ist so much…

In my country, releasing something like this would have severe financial consequences.

Never, ever, ever, ever use caltrops on dodge. If you wont play alone, a direbuild is pretty neat for annoyance. Ppl will get mad at you and try to kill you over your bursting friends. For soloroaming however, going carrion with 20 in DA yields better results, as you will deal more dps to wear down enemies with a few cleanses. Consider using traveler runes. They do have condiduration and 30 condidamage, but the real deal is that you gain one utility. if you want to use devourer venom and caltrops to bleedbomb you might want to have a SR/BP/SS for defense.

While I salute your gameplay and thank you for the video, I am a bit disappointed as I expected some roaming and kiting action.

Sure you do an exceptional job, but I dont find this to be a representative roaming video, when you party with 3 guards and one cc warrior. They will CC and buff everything into oblivion and generate a melee deathzone where you can catch some air if needed.

Show us the kite Xun, I know you do that most of the time and this is what we all love about WvW and eles. Dont sell your soul to the meleetrain :-P.

True that, we dont have anything to do with respected 20+ raiding. But we are far away from being known for 5vs1ing afkers. It happens, of course.

But as I said, this is a PvP forum, so when people start flaming you about how you “ganked them” “3vs1” the “1” probably just was the last man standing of the 10 people you just killed.

Well if you guard dollies ,you most certainly will meet us. Killing dollies and capping supplycamps is a roamers labour in WvW. If you were to be fair and objective, you would also admit that this is not the only thing we do. But if you want to complain about two people ganking your dolly and you, you should maybe rather stick to the zerg. Really, what do you expect?

Mordran, Jumpers s/d build in WvW is a true deathwish vs skilled players for any fight that is not against warrior, guardian or ele. Just saying.

And for the cheesiest builds, well they are not even possible in tPvp due to the lack of some runes and bufffood.

You just dont get deep enough in analizing your opponents builds, to notice what theyy are running until some guy points it out in a tpvp thread.

This does not fit my believings and my WvW-Roamer religion, but I second this very much.

I have seen ZBs explode 7-8 vs 4 randomly gathered Kodashi roamers on the old ruins. Not once but every time they went there without their full blob.

No flame or blame intended but you need to get your facts straight.

GvG Team’s now can do something that requires skill, try holding the bloodlust with your 20 man team vs other 20 man teams with pug’s and roamers hitting you from all side’s, this will require more skill and tactics. Rather then zerg balling in 20 man group where you have no idea what the hell is going on.

Duels, sure this might mess up duel’s but all you ever see at duels are thief’s/mesmers/ele’s running there OP builds calling it skill, you see the odd other classes but 99% them 3 classes dueling. Dueling isn’t that great anymore its boring and doesn’t prove much.

Well in this matchup I never came behind the borderlandmills without finding at least 3-5 ppl duelling :-).
But yes, get matched wih AM, RS, SFR or Pken and the matchup is pretty mutch: find a 30+ PVT paintrainguildzerg or fall asleep searching groups around 5-10. These servers will be locked into gold league though. Cant wait to have them off my matchupoptions :-).

GH is on 15th rank and we are on 10th and further dropping. GH would have to drop to 19 in 3 weeks if they dont want to be in the silver leage. Not gonna happen.
As much as I can think of good roaming actions during primetime in the bronce league, I really dont wat to be matched with dead servers like Vabbi.
DZ is not unlikely to be there neither. Rank 19 and before the patch there will be huge exodus from WTjoiners to bigger servers on the international ones.

Believe it or not. This week fighting Vizunah is being awesome for roamers. just avoid the main 1,5 hours of primetime and you will be fine.

Great play @ Psy.

But I liked this video far less than the previous one I watched (the north camp fight). Reason is, the fast forward makes it impossible to observe the already fast paced fights closely (player mechanics, group coordination, skill usage of your mates, etc pp). Additionally, the choice of music further makes it feel more flurry and chaotic.

I hope you take it as constructive criticism and I didn`t hurt anyone`s feelings. But the above mentioned style made it near unwatchable for me.

The first action meant to be rather as additional intro (beside the standard one) I guess. There would be no point posting full fight of ‘burst&back’ against them since it was impossible to win. Still, we were only 4 and held whole zerg for really long. + “poor psy” on chat totally makes it!

Obeet (.6785) is our advanced, most talented movie maker, so instead of posting sore footage, he tried to get always more out of it and making movie matching timeframes. Not many people would watch 30min movie if they could watch movie of the same actions compresed into 15 (without any speed ups). Editing skills and unique style make it by far one of the best GW2 movies I’d say.

Yes, stealth always fully restores thieves’ health and they do not have to use 30 points into a completely defensive traitline to achieve some kind of survivability that enables to beat skilled players.

Also thieves are immune to 4 second stuns on 7second cd and survive 5 eviscerates and 3 full 100b without any effort.
This is truely a noobclass and I hope they delete all thieves and make them use warriors and necros instead.
Baddies unable to deal with stealthing thieves, for more than 1 year.

A more offensive one that does not need hidden killer but deals insane backstabs below 50% would be with assassin gear and Executioner, getting 20% more damage. 20k Backstabs possible and way more. Here you sure are a true glascannon, but you hit like the biggest truck on earth:

60% more to your backstabs if target under 50%, you are over 90%, you have over 6 initiative and hit from behind.

These two builds are one trick ponies, but they do their job. They oneshot people.

20vs20 GvG is an easy way for casuals to feel competitive to an extend.

Let them have their way. Who cares about PVT heroes? They do not harm anyone.

-Stream about Ascended stuff: I could not care less, but all you could read was GvG Spam. Period.
-Stream at PAX: I was interested in the NA/EU kittenwars and all I could read was “raise your Teldos” and GvG again.

Many things are being done great by Devon and Ruby + Team to make WvW more enjoyable, split the Zergs and add rewards even a PvPer has use for. I really dont want to see any ressources wasted for Zerging V_2.1 to please people that dont give a cold snot about the people that actually want to watch the stream they keep sabotaging. You know, the other 99,9% of the playerbase.

GvGers meet wherever you want and do what you want, but stop putting yourselves above everyone. Funniest thing is Ogro comparing them to the Jews during Holocaust. As a German I found this very disturbing and ridiculous. Not mentioning that by behavior patterns you would play the other part of the story.
