Why not both? Jumping puzzles are one of my top favorite features of GW2
the downflow system sounds like a fantastic idea! would certainly help the world feel more alive
I think giving all classes speed buffs is a step in the wrong direction. Trying to catch running thieves or eles or.. anything as a mesmer is frustrating.
EB JP is the only reason I still log on this game!
Please Arenanet, let me remind you that there are many of us that enjoy the JP, be it camping or retaking, it clearly is very popular because of all the people involved inside, so please dont remove them just because a few babies cant take PVP.
My best moments are in the JP, this one time where I pushed 3 people off the edge to their deaths made me almost scream in joy

so many escapes makes them popular, a bit too popular… VERY Popular as every 1 in 5 is a thief in world vs world
its just a no-risk/high-reward class, its no wonder why so many people chose them

very laggy gameplay at tier 3 wvwvw, there is like a second delay on everything
pve and spvp are the least popular activities on GW2 so naturally they will adress them first
My main concerns:
1- We need a LFG tool. I dont like sitting in Lion’s Arch asking in map chat only to be blocked by the spam detection. Wasting time when I could be doing something more fun.
2- Bosses have too much health… and when all strategy comes down to dodging away from red circles, it gets old very quickly.
3- At this time, the only dungeon I have done is TA (for my set), and I hated it running it over and over to get my armor. There is no incentive for me to do the other dungeons, I am sort of a completitionist so I WANT to explore them, but they feel too chaotic and unfun and in the end it is just not worth all the frustration just too see the content.

My realm has been winning over the last 2 or 3 weeks, and I always wondered.. why dont the two losing servers join forces and attack my server? It would certainly change the tables and make wvwvw more fun.
So, has this happened on your realm?
I feel my damage is fine so I am willing to sacrifice red numbers for more reliable swiftness, and mesmer’s biggest weakness is speed, so its centaur for me.
I mostly run solo and fish for 1v1,1v2s, so if you always run in a group, use Air as others will provide swiftness for you.
The skill is fine.
It roots us on the ground and we are unable to move for the duration. For it to actually work we have to use #3 (swap clone) which bugs out most of the time.
If the mesmer has 2 clones up and and summons another that quickly walks to you, DODGE, by the time the mesmer swaps clones and hits frenzy, you will be in a safe distance and have wasted his precious cooldowns.
The setup is strong but it is also one of the most predictable attacks the mesmer has because all the signs are there, and you have defensive cooldowns for moments like that.
Mesmers beat bad players like a pulp, but they are balanced against good players who know how to react to them and spot the right one.
Learn to dodge their blurred frenzy + shatter combo, and you have the upper hand. If you see a clone quickly run up to you, its time to dodge.
This is horrible! I tried the JP in BL and just couldnt do it. Hope they fix it quickly because its just not enjoyable for me to play with this glitch.
Umm.. im not a PVE folk, I like the EB JP because the PVP there is more fun for me than giant zergs running from tower to tower.
Spawning at the start is enough punishment, repair bills in wvwvw need to stop
Attacking and defending the EB jumping puzzle is perhaps the most fun I have in this game, I am sorry if many people are upset about it but I paid 60 dollars for this game and I can spend my time on it however I wish
I cant explain why exactly I love it. Maybe its because it reminds me of world pvp in the other popular mmo I will not mention… I know borderlands and EB is full of it but I prefer smaller battles and 1v1s. Something about killing an enemy a few yards away from the chest and shattering their dreams fulfills my day. I die a lot as well, but I dont mind or complain, its part of the fun!
I often ask for help on map chat and people respond agresivale telling us that its a waste of time and resources, I ignore them, but I do understand where they are comming from, clearly the EB JP is very popular as I always see as many as 10-15-20 people per world battling it out.. so I propose to make a new “borderlands” and move all the jumping puzzles there, that way we can have our fun and the hardcore PVPers can have their precious player slots.
Sigh. hopefully they will reconsider and focus their efforts on the things that really matter: world vs world and spvp. PVE is just fine the way it is, the game didnt need fractals or ascended gear.
Also, what about Magic find? It truly is an awful mechanic that goes against the spirit of the game.

Im really surprised they didnt change thieves, they lowered the damage on abilities that didnt bother me at all as the victim.
Haste/quickness needs to be 30% attack speed, not 50%… they changed that in the other popular MMO as it was too game breaking, its not late to do it here
I wouldnt call it a temporal fix, it didnt fix anything at all, the main problem is still there, 30 seconds doesnt mean anything when armies with five or more mesmers can mass-teleport in wvwvw
Mesmer here, I was fully expecting a nerf akin to putting charges to portal, so a maximum of 3 or 5 people can use the portal only.
I agree and totally understand that teleporting a huge zerg instantly from one location to another is game breaking in wvwvw. But all this “nerf” did was make my puzzle jumping a bit harder now.
Revert the cooldown to 60 seconds and put a maximum of 3 or 5 charges on portal use. That will fix its opness in wvwvw and mesmer’s personal use is unchanged.

Stop being a baby, our class dominates in PVP, they only fixed a blatant BUG and increased our portal CD.
I am proud of my class and regardless of changes, I will adapt and play to the best of my ability

The portal nerf should have been something like “maximun number of portal uses reduced to 5”.
It will still be abused in wvwvw porting massive zergs instantly, all this change did was make jumping puzzles less forgivable for us.
I was expecting some nerfs to our surviability and damage department, in that way I am happy with this patch, but thieves are still murder machines in pvp.

Pretty lackluster in my opinion, no nerfs to thieves, mesmer portal is virtually unchanged, moa still lasts 10 seconds, and more than half of the bullet points are fixed tooltips. No changes to wvwvw. Overall, this is less than half what I was expecting.
Good to have more bug fixes anyways.
I am still waiting for duels and a better LFG tool. Instead i get more gear to grind… yay,
it is not uncommon for companies to betray their own ideals for the sake of money
look at WoW when they introduced that thing where you level up 300% faster if you get a friend to buy the game. Many people were angered and the forums felt like a war zone, much like right now…
but the world kept on spinning, but many people didn’t respect blizzard the same as before
because of the cries of a few wow players that dont understand the nature of GW2, now we must endure all this mess of a new tier of gear

People are not upset because of the new rings and backpacks with measly 2 increased stats.
People are upset because the blog post says “its just the beginning”, “more gear grind to come in the future!”
They are adressing an audience that no longer exists, at the beginning people wondered why there was no gear grind after exotics, but the last month was very quiet as people understood this game is not about gear but about adventure and skill. Now they are introducing a new tier 2 months after release.. its just a mess in my opinion.

Some of us dont like dungeons, I wish I could enjoy them but they are too chaotic for my taste, but hey to each his own.
Releasing a new tier of gear 2 months after release is unnerving, with most of my slots being exotic I just wanted to relax and enjoy end-game but now you are telling me that my gear needs more work.. its too early for that, way too early…
Please make the new gear just a strong as exotic, but with extra damage INSIDE the dungeon… you know, as most of us were predicting right before you released that heart-breaking blog post..
Communicate MORE with your fans! All the Arenanet logos on the forums is just a manager closing the thread.. we need both of us to be more reciprocate, otherwise you just alienate your fans and your ideals. Please consider this a turning point in your philosophy from now on.
Its too late for them to reconsider. They dont walk with us that much.
I will certainly wont quit the game for a small stat increase in just 2 slot items, but this new game philosophy will be an itch and a reminder of a broken manifesto everytime I play.
This is what happens when developers don’t communicate with their fans, things are misinterpreted, bad decisions are made, and fans are unhappy.
They promised no gear progression, they are now adding gear progression. Of course people are going to get angry.. this was an MMO designed for those that hate traditional MMOs. Or was…..

The best thing about this game is getting your exotic set and relaxing about it… unlike WoW where it is exhausting to get the best gear.

Its a shame that so many people are upset, a simple “no, these items will not be stronger than exotics” would calm the masses. I initially got the impression that Arenanet would be more communicative with the playerbase, but whenever I see the Arenanet logo on the forum, its just some manager closing the thread because the “question was answered”

The only reason I go for wvwvw is for the jumping puzzles and the hilarious PVP that goes there.
I agree that it is a problem.. last night there were like 15 tarnished coasters at the ET JP (me included) and map chat was upset because we all could be helping instead of camping, but we were having a great time there.
I think it would we great if they just took both JPs from the maps and make a fifth map solely devoted for jumping puzzles. Then everyone would be happy.
