With one map anet would be the laughing stock of the gaming world. So no wonder it’s gonna be more. It’s going to be compared to all other expansions, guild wars or not, so they are pretty much going to need to impress.

Obviously we only like it when no lag is involved. It’s hectic and I like zerg fights a lot. But when you cannot use skills, or rather when the old server cant keep up, there is little fun in it. It’s a game issue that seems to come back now and then.

There are technically “mobs” in pvp if you count the NPCs in two of the maps: Foefire and Niflhel. Stronghold will introduce a lot of mobs as well. Not quite the same as rallying an enemy off a deer, but it’s still there.

I dont mind npc’s or other friendly mobs, what I hate is rally musquitos, flies, deer stuff like that

Pve content is fine IMO there are not that much stuff aside from the middle event. The rest is mostly reskins of npcs or contextual defenses that once studied by players, will be just another part of any defense on the place.

I’m much more worried about the size of the 3 maps (+EB) vs a decreasing population playing WvW especially in lower tier servers.

nah it’s way more pve mobs than in old maps. Every kind of mob that isnt an enemy player does not belong in WvW. There is/are none in pvp right?
Even the presence of that champ wyvern makes it possible for the pve zombies to come ruin your wvw map/fight.

Just gonna post in here so I dont forget. I got the same with my mouse settings, thanks to someone in my GH WvW chat it fixed my annoying mouse. Why save energy on mouse and network MicroSoft, wai u so weird.

I was one of the few persons that didnt care for sab at all. But so many people I talk to just loved it. So why not open it up for those wanting it?

20+ stacks of Burn from a ranger ticking for almost 8k, cleared half of them and that’s down to 4k tick aaaaand oh look he reaplied it bring me back up 15+ with 6k tick and i cleared i……………..oh waitthat’s right i was dead by then coz you can;t carry that much condi cleanse and be viable vs other builds like CC based power builds.

Seriously Anet do something about conditions, if iwant to clear Burning then it should remove the entire stack.

My condi guardian can hit you for 8k burn tick on first attack then i can keep 2/3k on you at all times while still being tanky as balls, my problem is not the damage of conditions but the continual reaplication of the conditions after all condi cleanse is gone, you litterally have to stand there and just wait to die coz guess what condi builds are also more tanky than most power builds so they just laugh at you while you desperatly try to kill them before you die.

Lol, you need to stand in the firefields (Bonfire/Flame Trap) to get that many stacks on you. Even then, it’s extremely difficult to get more than 15stacks of burn with a Ranger so whoever managed to apply 20stacks to you I’d love to know their build. Don’t stand directly in the fire and you’ll be fine…

And what are you talking about by “cleared half of them”? Conditions don’t cleanse individually they cleanse the whole stack. It doesn’t matter if it’s 1 stack of burning or 100 it’s gone with one cleanse. DON’T STAND IN THE FRIGGING FIRE.

Also a condi ranger will combo his fire to get the fireshield. Dont hit it :P

Seems to me that people complaining about condis just want to have damage options on gear and weapons. And then complain about it?

Lag with large zerg fights is much better than long time ago, there are spikes sometimes but not as terrible. They lowered population per map because their servers could not handle the stress.

6 weeks isnt so much better. Its in the middle of summer vacations you know. Many guilds dont even raid and probably wont be starting for another month. FSP may not have as many players as SFR true, less kiddies on vacation I guess.

It’s weird I have been fighting against fsp for a couple of times the last few weeks. Their coverage doesnt seem too bad. They even doing fine now against piken.
But whatever you do or decide dont go sfr, your skills will get worse when you go there not better

Wait you are on fsp and complaying it to be dead? Fsp is a packed server that always delivers on good fights. I was thinking about going there from silver.
Piken is good but another blob server compared to fsp. You are looking for Gandara as a server. Go there.

Only thing I can think about is a one profession weekend. Because week would be too much. Where erveryone is turned into a certain profession. I would login to see how a warrior vs warrior zerg turns out.

Remember the crying from mesmers when thiefs could burst them down from stealth, and now we can do the same and its ok all of a sudden? Come on be honest it;s insane now.

Also i watched Potatoveg on stream this weekend and I thought he handled himself more than fine. Nice build he has.

Actually, I watched it as well and he was getting wrecked by necros, thieves, mesmers all 1on1 on node and he brought no team support at all. Understandably, mesmers are broken and thieves can just blind spam you and necros have so much LF uptime it’s gotten ridiculous too. He was doing good in team fights but that’s literally because the other team didn’t bother to focus him at all which is just dumb as he didn’t have signet of stone and would have been such an easy kill to focus – one backstab would force a disengage on him and put him out of the fight but they didn’t because he was playing against low MMR players and they were focusing bunker guardians/warriors instead of him and allowed him to just wreck fights – a good team would focus him, kill him and make him a target to ressurect so they could cleave the team as they do it.

He did well though for what the build allows , but the build doesn’t allow much really. Offhand axe is terrible , the pathing on path of scars needs to work alot better , I can simply sidestep the return of axe 4 and do it 75% of the time anyway just by adjusting position constantly in a fight so i dont even need to dodge it. It’s just a silly weapon , the retaliation is a joke on it too , needs to grant protection and retaliation OR make it where you can use it while moving (like they ended up doing with engineer’s shield reflect skill, they use to be standing still for that one).

Props to potatoveg man, just good mesmers , thieves and cele necros and good d/d eles will wreck that build no matter skill level you are with this build.

He did have GS and was able to assist in decapping points but that was about it, and those weren’t even mid to top tier players, they were low tier pug randoms in a low MMR.

i’m not sure we watched the same thing? He was doing fine in wvw, that would kinda support your theory that pvp are better players but that is debetable.
From what I see in pvp matches 1-1 is very rare in the matches I see, 1-1 in wvw on the other hand is pretty common. I saw him(potatoveg) wreck Malf with his burst mesmer which is no noob, but ok the taunt is kinda broken right now(so is mesmer btw )

Desolation has short queues during prime time, depending on the situation atm, but open tags atm don’t manage to gather much numbers until late at night. I don’t know how it is elsewhere, but T1 isn’t set in stone.

Honestly though, if Deso had organization the rest of the day, we’d be stuck with boring SFR MUs every week anyway. It’s not really worth the energy, worrying about that kind of thing anymore.

I watched a good ranger beat a good mesmer with his melee build time and time again yesterday. And the ranger was using just a melee build, no hiding from far with LB.

I dont know why they even give you stuff during leveling. 99% of the things I get is junk or armour/weapons I cannot use. Almost everything I get is for another profession or weightclass :/

Really? I wasn’t on much last week but played all yesterday and it was yolo as usual for us. Perhaps we were on different maps?

It was on EB, very sad and not very Piken like. Spawn blobbing our entrance while Deso tried to take our keep. And this went on for about an hour

Perhaps Anet thought the revenant would be the right char to have the pirateship meta shift a bit. But from the looks in wvw with their limited skillset it hasnt worked yet.
On the other hand, casters had to deal with the melee supremacy for way longer than you have to deal with the current meta.

If you want good fights with a consistent community I’d say go for Gunners Hold. I’m currently on Aurora Glade and I’m giving serious consideration to switching. Were currently fighting Gunners & Elona Reach and our turnout is pathetic (Too many fairweather WvWers who are only interested when we can farm noobs).

Gunners have good turnouts regardless who they’re fighting.

Why don’t you l2p and carry your server?

Yep it sure does look great. I am not sure what to think about the lich keep, but the rest is awesome looking.
A little less pve and it would be a great map, it would make a better EB map but that’s just my opinion.

From what I have seen and heard from wolfineer’s vid, it makes more sense to make this huge size map a replacement for EB instead of the borderlands.

This stream was a good example of how a real WvW guild group might use the map.

my god nothing is happening in that whole vid? I stopped about 3 quarters all they did was a typical eotm train, now with more pve in it……

FacePalm You DO realize that the forces on the opposing 2 servers logged out or transferred to the server we were on b/c we were wiping them at the start. This is a stress test, this map would have been played 100% differently once it comes out and is available to everyone.

What’s facepalm about that, how the hell should someone watchting terrible people playing on stream tell you that is what happened? I just saw a terrible streamer doing terrible things. And that was karma train like eotm, now with even more pve……
