it’s always been fifteen seconds in queues. afaik hotjoin is still wave, unranked and ranked are 15s.

I’ve done about 50+ games since the patch. I’ve never had more than 2 of the same class.
Well, the ladder will reward you for trying and performing even against stacked teams.
Ladder will be the first step. Leagues the next step.
We can only hope for a good implementation.

I rather queue longer than having to have a blow out match (which isn’t fun anyway). I think the match making has been improving a lot, in just a few days
. I’m optimistic that within a few weeks, the new system will be able to give us even better match making, when the MMR of the new player coming in settles down.

NA is reporting 30min+ queue times though. And even then they get a bad matchup, because the system just gives up I think. :p

Everyone keeps asking for new modes. But that’ll split up the pvp population even more, regardless of attracting new pvp’ers. GW1 had a ton of modes and it had it’s population issues because of it.
It’s not the same, but they integrated the ranked MMR into unranked because unranked didn’t have any MMR yet.
It destroyed NA though :p. They got huge queue times.
They can’t win. Trash games or too long queues.
And you guys want to split up unranked and ranked into solo/team? It would even be worse. The population is just too small.

Anyway, when ladders and eventually leagues arrive, we’ll have placement matches.
ArenaNet failed from the start. They had every player involved in PvP that they could possibly want at the beginning. Their failure to promote effectively with every social media tool at their disposal has essentially cost the lively hood of GW2.
It isn’t a good sign when the competitive PvP scene of GW2 after 2 years looks as active as the PvP scene of GW1 after 10 years.
The marketing didn’t fail, pvp failed. We had a massive pvp population in the beginning, we just didn’t have a decent infrastructure.
But we’re getting there. :p

They should activate dishonor asap next week. People are catching on, on the fact that it’s not activated yet. I’m having more and more leavers in my matches.
^ Why market a gw2 for it’s pvp, when it’s pvp is still not where it needs to be. Maybe when we have the league structure, fixed the MMR, etc etc.
Why market gw2 as esport, when we’re not ready yet. The stream was kitten, the game itself was lagging, etc. etc.
They market it for ingame players, that’s fine. No need to market outside the game yet, as it’s not ready for that yet. You want to attract players, not put them off.
We need the league structure, which pretty much is a complex reward infrastructure.
There needs to be a reward for time played competitively and for skill. The money rewards is for the high-end players. As of now there’s only the money reward for the high end players and rewards for time spend playing pvp (which includes hotjoin, so that’s not really competitive).
Rewards can be titles, mini’s, armor, weapons, finishers, capes :p, etc. As long as it’s exclusive to pvp and exclusive to the league you’re in.
Mixing might be better, but it’s still extremely frustrating. I’ve been in quite a few mixed matchups, with vets and newbs on both sides. And while it might not be blowouts, it’s not a fun experience either.
Do not make MM changes based on courtyard. It’s even more prone to blowouts/snowballing than conquestmaps.
They count for your MMR. That MMR will still be in effect when the new ladder arrives.
Anet has a gemstore team. No resources are pulled from the other teams.
You’re ladder points will be adjusted based on that.

Maybe we should consider a solo/team split again in ranked? And even unranked? I wouldn’t allow solo’s in teamq however.
However, I’m afraid that’ll just lengthen the queue’s too much as we still have the population issues.
They should disable ranked in between seasons. Not much difference anyway except making both ‘less’ populated.
No, because tomes of knowledge have not been dropping for 2 years. And why would I care for lv80’s?
Next step: leagues. That should better the pvp experience too.

I wish I could spectate your games. That’s two days in a row you’re spamming you’re results. Most of which you lost, giving comments on them while in the match.

Yes, as ranked MMR hasn’t been reset but unranked is. So they’re both different. However Justin said somewhere they’re looking into carrying the MMR from ranked over to unranked to deal with the blowouts.
Justin said that in ranked queue the MMR has NOT been reset, btw.

They want better matchmaking, so they added more variables and probably feared some population issues. Merging would be the solution here. Otherwise you’d be splitting up both unranked/ranked into solo/teamq which could result in queueing issues.
If pvp ever gets more populated they can always split them up. They’ve been talking about new gamemodes too so when those arrive expect the pvp-population to be even more split.
I’d rather play than wait on a queue.
It’s bugged, what else is there to say? Try and give some constructive feedback and they’ll get it fixed.
They kept the MMR in ranked, new MMR in unranked. But I assume something went wrong somewhere because everyone is reporting blowouts.
There will be a limited set of maps available during the season. All maps will only be available during off-season play.

Justin ODell, what Demus talked about was a bug, but what OP said is just a bad design.
I was so hype that the new system. The first match went well, but after that it was hell. Same thing as OP, I have between 3 to 8 try each time. There is always 1 people afk, or looking at its inventory, TP, reading of something like that. There is always 1 or 2 ppl that don’t click accept forcing the matchmaking to reset.
To fix a small problem (afk ppl during at the start of a fight), you made the matchmaking so much reliant on human interaction that it rarely work fast AND you can’t do kitten while waiting, stuck at Heart of the Mist looking at the green grass.
I had to stop playing sPvP, it was just frustrating.

I’d rather wait a minute longer than have the entire match screwed up even before it started. I played 10-15 matches, all pops in 1-2 minutes (requeues included).
^ Though there are others who enjoy JP’s. And there has been a new zone already. A bit of everything for everyone.
