it would be nice if P/P had a movement skill or access to stealth
P/p is the one weapon set with out a movement skill or access to stealth
i think that is the weapons biggest weak point.

idk how well this would work but 2 things

1) what if u change unload to a 2 part skill like flanking strike.

2) what if they make the last shot of unload a blast finisher so u can combo with BP

- They are company and companies want create money dou you think they have 300+ employees on paycheck what do nothing? Dont be fools guys.

Dry top and SW with all those new mobs, events, new mechanics, new receipts, new stats and a ton of other new stuff are by far the biggest content-addition since release.

These 2 maps were certainly not built by a 20-person LS-team within a few months (who probably did nothing else but the instanced and cutscene parts). Probably these 2 maps were at least an important part of the big projects they talked about.

China release, all those more or less lucky changes we received this year (feature patches, trait revamp, wallet, NPE, daily-revamp, updated festivals, . . .) certainly took a lot of time on top of that.

Another hint are dungeons: an expansion certainly would bring new dungeons, still we heard in summer, they are not working on some or have plans to do that.

So looking into my crystal ball I still don´t see a full expansion 2015 – though I would be happy about that (well, not knowing Anet´s design-decisions for one, most probably . . .).

So I hope to be able to play Camelot Unchained Beta in summer, but except that I also don´t see much alternative MMO´s for me (maybe Black Desert, may turn out like Archeage though)

i will cry if black desert ends up like arche age lol ….
but they are going for the free to play method :S

Before the removal of white swords the bigger zerg could carelessly Ktrain all over the maps and defend those objective that where tagged by swords, now against a smaller but more organized server it can loose more than it can conquer.

Nods – if they keep up that “one big zerg” idea – if they split, say, 5 people off per map with a 30 minute rotation, however, there’s no real difference – and the server that fields more people per map can easily afford those 5 sentries.

Population imbalance is the key and – as you said in that part of your post I snipped – it’s something that’s been present in all games. But you can do something to lessen the impact or you can choose do nothing about it and it is sad that ANet has chosen to simply not address the issue at all.

A dynamic alliance based system (preferably across continents to mitigate the time zone problems) with guilds forming the alliances wouldn’t be perfect but I think it would be MUCH better than what is in existence right now.

It really is a lose/lose situation sometimes. People agreed to give developers more time to work on content. But, when no new content came out after two weeks, the boards blew up with complaints.

So they release new, but shorter content to give players carrots to chase.

And those players blew threw it, complained about the length, cliffhangers, and then said the bell choir was too hard. Sometimes, you just can’t win.

Still, if those promotional pictures of Rytlock are any indication, we might be in for a surprise.

And see there? A promotion, months in advanced, about content we have no idea about. Speculation ran rampant about it. Is it Canthan? Ritualists? Something else?

Again, the evidence flies in the face of any speculation.

so much confusion because anet does not share plans lol,

people are just left siting on the edge of there seats …. eyes roll canthan = expansion
ritualists =idk who cares

So much time lost they need something and they need it bad, the only thing holding the game up right now is shinny objects in the black lion trading post and the wallet warriors who buy them.

That’s totally false. GW2 isn’t depserate or even close to be in a bad situation. It still generates millions of dollars every year.

Yes, it would be great with an expansion and I would love it however believing that Anet are in a desperate situation is nothing but giving youself a false hope of them forced to release it NOW. Because hey.. they are not forced and the game is running better than almost every single title in the western MMO market despite its’ lackluster performence according to many.

mmmm i can not say the game is running great … there has been a lot of lag recently !
… there is a huge forum in account- teck- support about it

I’d agree with you except the most recent patch included a revamp of the PvP ladder system. Also there have been references to more changes coming so I think they are addressing things but in a measured way. Certainly they should have sooner.

However I will point out that PvP, since there is no subscription, does not pay the bills for Anet. PvE and in turn the TP and the gem store does. That doesn’t make PvP “worse” but it does ride on the coat tails of PvE which powers Anet’s business model.

yes pvp did just get that up date

pvp players like the skins/other junk in the gem store as much as other players
so it does not really matter if u r a pvp/wvw/pve player when it comes to the gem store

but i am patiently waiting for a new game-
and the second there is a better wvw experience ill be out of here -

i expected to see more wvw/pvp updates by now
but all we get is pve content .. lots and lots of boring pve

I think my post apples here. If you not gone by now because of no expansion over the last 2 years then one more year not going to make you go alone because there is not expansion.

Any way the ideal of an expansion seems like a bad ideal unless you can keep these 2 week updates and an expansion going because the reaction of down time from the 2 week update has been so great that the very ideal of taking 2 month to 6 months to maybe a year (most mmorpgs do take a year to years to put things out at this point in there mmorpg life) is crazy.

i dont think u get that i am not really asking for a expansion,
so much for as real content !

my problem is just through living story- does not provide many wvw/pvp class improvement up dates

we just see soooooo much pve that comes and goes

Here’s the things the community has been asking for:

  • More pvp game modes;
  • More professions;
  • More weapon skills unlocked per profession;
  • GvG;
  • Guild Halls/ Housing;
  • More WvW features and depth;
  • More explorable maps;
  • More challenging content;
  • Mounts (=divisive, but requested nonetheless);
  • Raids;
  • More dungeons;
  • Precursor scavenger hunting and crafting;
  • Expanded story;

None of these things require an expansion a’la GW1 or WoW.

With the profit model they have working well, any/all of the above could be done via DL expansions. Example: EvE Online, FFXIV, etc.

If the only argument for a box expansion is the marketing hype, that’s a poor excuse. Marketing can be just as good if the “named” expansion is announced to those “reputable” gaming sites in a press release. The only thing hurting Anet in this regard is their refusal to announce anything on the fear of player whining.

I don’t see a box expansion coming but I do see them expanding the game just as they have been. It won’t be in one huge DL but more likely a few sizable ones that start to fill out more of the game and world over 2015.

traits reworked – expanded/ new traits

serious wvw improvements

serious pvp improvements

more classes/ new weapon sets

i am not really concerned about pve because we get living story
problem is we dont see many updates to these things through the living story up dates – just more pve content

Just transfer to a tier with servers that are relatively balanced. Your experience will be much better.

Until they collapse at random and shuffle to the bottom where you have to transfer again to escape!

that happened to me and i just stopped playing for a (long time) till my server picked up again

i dont think we will ever have population balance for wvw or decent coverage or be able to play with who we want as long as people need to pay this much to find there place in wvw

anet needs to take a different approach now that there is mega servers
because the only people paying to swap servers now is wvw players

idk i have never liked automatic activation traits or traits with timed cool downs because u can not see the cool down

the rune of the trapper works off of utility
gain stealth for placing a trap or something like that …

and no one ever used the rune of evasion because the stealth nerf makes it useless
constantly applying revealed to your self :S…

what i am saying is there is a few runes kinda like what u r asking for … but they r so balanced they r very gimmicky

would be better for them to just improve the traits

Not sure if that was directed at me but – you’re wrong

(a) Our matchup is quite fine – we’re nicely ahead but I know how much harder we have to work for it …

(b) The train is the direct consequence of the sword removal. There is much less chance for the train to run into an organised defense – that’s why the train is running. There never has been a “special” reward for EotM but it’s hugely popular by PvE style players – lots and lots of rank points (what a joke), badges and champ bags …

Borderland WvW was a less healthy playground for those players because you ran into danger of meeting a well organized defense. With the swords gone most of the time we ju-hust managed to arrive in force with the enemy already exchanging blows with the lord …

I actually fear the change will lose ArenNet even more players … for the choo-choo loooooot bag type of players there are the trains in Cursed Shore and Frostgorge Sound. For those who want to brag that they do PvP (har har) there’s EotM.

Borderland WvW so far was for those players wo looked for something different than choo-choo training from objective to objective. Borderland WvW has quite a few flaws but it still manages to attract players … with the new change they cater more to the EotM type of player than to those who prefer to do the typical borderland style – i.e. capturing and KEEPING.

So all in all ANet is quite lucky that there is no other game with similar objectives around or GW2 WvW would be dead already. But given some of the feedback I hear on TS when in the borderlands … if this change persists they’ll lose a couple of players.

u know whats funny – my server is against yours….. y dont u break some people off your massive zerg in EB to protect your borderlands if they mean that much to u lol…

i think the worst part is the off hours when u dont have as many people to scout

but we have way more people using map chat for telling people whats going on
and people are spread out enough to respond quickly most of the time

ya i like the change so far . have been finding a bunch of small fights …

and if u try to take some thing u dont have the blob instantly come to your position and steam roll your small group as easy

but there is 2 things i would like to see ….

1)white swords for the outnumbered buff

2)or white swords for a guild owing a castle or camp

thief loses to much damage for spamming if u r in crits or trickery.
damage is tied to the number of initiative u have. and is not really ever a good idea to spam

how ever those “spam-a-neers” can be pretty tough to get close to with all the stuff they throw around

there is a difference between rewarding the train VS strategic play
there is plenty of ways to divide a karma train

some people dont like to farm brain dead mobs
so what better way to make money beside helping your server in a fight

the point of wvw is not to make money but u dont want to be forced to play something u dont want to to make money “pve”

for some reason last time i got lag spikes

the game keep spamming me a message i lost connection but i was still connected !

and it was saying i was not in a party when i was talking in party chat .
while i was repeatedly receiving a error message saying i was not connected less than every minute

the game was just all over the place and did not know up from down-
really seems like lag just keeps getting worse

any other game i play runs fine.
i dont know what to do at this point this is beyond old

i think people are looking for a challenge .
but the size of your server makes to much of a difference and u end up with bad wvw match ups

or one team will have night capers.

really people not happy with wvw have a bad wvw server .
only people who seem happy with wvw r top servers

dont say go to eotm .. it solved nothing

so people are just left on the edge of there seat grasping at straws waiting for some “cantha” to come around
