More info on this: The problem does not seem to be that the spot is not reserved – it is. But if you are in combat when trying to travel you just don’t and are reentering the queue.

On the topic of using siege weapons as a role mechanic in these fights, is that something we want to see more of? I often worry that siege weapons can be just as boring as standing in the safe corner pressing the same attack. Do you feel that they can also cause some contention between players?
Yes, I generally disliked siege on world bosses for two reasons:
1. Your safespot argument.
2. When there is a limited number of siege (hi tequatl turrets) and some boss core mechanic centers on the correct use of the siege it is far too easy for few people to ruin the fight for everybody, may it be because they don’t know better or do it on purpose.

Depending on how this one looks some R80 are going to be pretty kittened. Though the best thing thy could do is the gemstore finisher being the old R80 and revamping the R80 one to a GW1-style R15 HA dragon.
There is some speculation around that the “high shockwave” (see video, 2:00) is not jumpable, so that might be where you have been hit.

Wow, waited in the queue to join WvW. After some wait the “join”-Window spawns. I wait for about 10 seconds before I click “Travel” to finish my current fight, then click travel. And it says “The borderland is full. Do you want to queue?”. WTF!

They once said™ that the secondary profession system was causing the most balancing trouble. That trouble was the reason why we wouldn’t have a secondary profession in GW2 anymore.
Liadri is not easy. If you beat her once every 5 times (or more) that does not mean at all that the fight is easy.
However, it’s definitely not impossible. Any profession can beat her. And all except rangers can get 8 orbs achievement. That is because pet dies and it’s like 50% nerf on ranger.
I did liadri normal way first on berserker ranger and 8 orbs on guardian, but I am confident that I could get 8 orbs on thief as well very easily.
Fun fact: I did 8 orbs on my ranger.

The turret should explode after a set time killing everybody still attacking the boss. That would explain the mechanic to the stubborn. Maybe. Guess ’m still far too optimistic here.
A clearly visible healing link between turret and boss might help pointing the mechanic out, too.

Seriously though, experience is not really that relevant. Skill is a product of experience, and that’s already modeled with MMR.
Not really, as mmr can’t measure new players skill. You would compensate that by taking another factor in.
As for the definition of experience: You can’t measure it exactly. There sure are players more experienced (and skilled) than others who play for much longer. But on average new players are less experienced than long time players. So the total number of tournament matches played may be a good indicator.

How about just get rid of soloQ since there is no point compared to teamQ?
SoloQ is imho still needed. Hotjoin is pointless as a competitive mode with autobalance and the possiblity to jump in and out whenever you want (nobody ever doubted that, just analysing the available options for players), while teamQ requires you to have a PvP friendlist.
Taking rank / tournament matches played into account would be a great improvement. Adding classes / build would be even better, but also remove some variety.
Pretty pretty please with sugar icing take experience into account for soloQ matchmaking, willya? ty.
