I got one of these as a drop last night. I have yet to use it. Maybe tonight Anyone wanna join up?:)
Each zone should be getting hit at the same time by these events IMO.
And each zone should have their difficulty based on the level of the zone and rewards increased based on that difficulty, then have achievements that require stuff to be done in each zone and make it so each time you do a living story update, EVERY zone has stuff to be done that can give a unique fluff item, whether it be a pet, an armor skin, a weapon skin, a toy or w/e.
And I would love it if old zones were like 90% as rewarding as lvl 80 zones.
I agree with this.
To add: Seeing zergs of people in a mid level zone is not making it alive. Those zergs do not care about the dynamic events going on around them. All the development time spent on some of the gorgeous zones is just simply wasted when they are empty, or zergs of people run by to get to the next living story carrot. That content is left to the people leveling. Or, better.. it is shelved until the invasion is over.
I disagree. There are so many zones in the game I love. I have experienced them all multiple times. I generally don’t have many reasons to go back to them. If I do it’s usually to one waypoint, one chest event and I am gone again.
This has brought me back into zones I don’t go to, it gives me a purpose for being there and it spans the whole zone. What the Crown Pavilion did to remove people from the zones, this event has done the opposite and brought them into them.
Sure, like many you are glad to be revisiting zones. So am i. But do you really care that you’re there? Look around, you see stagnant dynamic events that are stalled because noone is doing them. Dead friendly NPCs. Even dead emissaries that are heading to the balloons. I saw many of those last night. Everyone is rushing for the achievements and rewards. All of these events, by and large, are left alone.
So what if that waypoint is contested and that camp dead. I need to get to the next portal!
Responding to a few posts saying that DEs do not add much to the game: That is the game/arenanets fault then. We were hyped that the game is ours, the world is ours, the choices we make matter, the champion will killed wont respawn 10 minutes later. Guess what? All of that is false. Success or failure mean little with regard to dynamic events. While a unique and refreshing way to approach content in an MMO space, they fall short of the goals arenanet set out with.
So following your logic, since DEs do not add much to the game overall, arenanet needs to pump this kind of content into the game? I love the amount of combat in this patch, love it! But this stuff detracts from other zones, from other things, and all of this is based around reward reward reward and not simply having fun. At least, most of us
The champion you kill doesn’t respawn ten minutes later refers to the personal story. I’ve proven that, it was said by Anet. It was clarified 3 days after the manifesto was released. 3 days. That clarification was up for well over a year and other stuff has been said since then.
If you can’t do the minimal research it takes to buy a game (because Anet said not only exactly how DEs work before launch, but gave examples), then I don’t really see how you can blame the company.
Id say I did enough"minimal" research a consumer would do for a 60 dollar product.
The fact that their vebiage in a lot of their interviews, videos, articles, and manifesto is so grey forces one to dig a little deeper than normal.
Id like to think that Ive read enough blogs and seen enough videos and interviews from official sources and fansites prior to the games launch to say that I did my homework. You are not one to tell me otherwise.
So with that confidence in mind, I did not see Arenanet confirming this 3 days after launch.. I did not see this. I might have been in game playing, but I have been a forum frequenter since they opened up the forums. I have been on their website here nearly every day, I read the patch notes. I can honestly say that I guess I missed that one…that little clarification that what they MEANT to say was “oops, this is for personal story, not in the world”. Again, I consider myself someone who did their homework and this one got by me…so what does that say about arenanet’s communication? (And if this was posted on reddit or facebook instead of guildwars2.com, thats the companys fault. I dont need to go to a third party site to get official information).
Awaits the inevitable “You consider yourself well-informed and you missed this? Hah! not as informed as you thought..” response.
Edit: I found what you are referring to. Buried somewhere in this forum in your post, you linked guildwars2guru..I went there and the link in that thread no longer works. Still, official clarifications, threads upon threads buried in forums and links to fansites for official information…Yeah, no wonder I missed it. And I still can’t read it. Overall, terrible communication. If companys wanted to use their forums for official communication, most create a sticky and leave it in the forum forever so you can read. “Clarification about manifesot”. Stickied. I can see it any time. But again, thats if I traverse the forums.

Well guys, seriously. Condition builds are hardly viable in PVE. This isnt really opinion… Sure you can say “I do just fine”. You can do “just fine” with any build. But these builds don’t put out enough damage on mobs as fast as burst do. Especially when it comes to tagging and making sure you get enough damage on the mob to get credit.
Condi builds need serious work. This is the type of thing the OP is saying. Its been this way since launch.
Wow. Thats interesting. I think Ive contested a few infractions in my time, not one response. Not even an email. I was pretty irate, however. Still, having worked in customer service (for IT), you are conditioned to deal with irate and you still need to address every customer’s concern, especially the irate one because you never know how far that issue will go up. I remember one customer, not mine, her complaint made it to our CIO (I work for one of the largest pharma companies in the world, 50k employees..) . It was about a printer. Directors were huddled in a conference room to fix this ladies problem because the CIO broke out the whip.
In any case, this isnt about an infraction. Its about reporting a private message from someone who I do not know, and the content of the message was not solicited and it was unwarrented. There was no reason for him to take it to a PM and give me that kind of tone. Looking for a response for THAT.
Yeah, I didnt get bent out of shape with the karma debacle. I think karma is so easy to get, theres so much of it, and its so useless. So..why care?
You have my sympathy, good sir, for being unable to read patch notes or prior posts concerning such things. I truly feel sorry for you for being unable to find out that the LS teams do no play a part in bug fixes, but that there are in fact several other teams who are in charge of this. It truly pains me to see that you’re apparently unable to fathom that some of the things you mention may not even be bugs or flaws, but could be working exactly as they should. My condolences, sir.
Understand that these patches are not(at least I hope not) governed by one team(Living Story). Id imagine that many different teams working on different things put different updates or whatever into the patches. Majority is living story, but also polish, bug fixes, quality of life, etc. The OP is simply upset that the long-standing problems, some are fundamental problems, still have no fix. He is most likely upset because someone at arenanet doesn’t consider condition damage being non-viable a priority, or warriors being stupidly high in damage. Either that, they dont know how to fix it, or don’t consider these real problems and are working as intended.
Living Story is not the sole purpose of these updates and it is about time that some of these long standing problems are addressed.
Great topic. I don’t think they do regret them, but they certainly are not doing anything to help them. These zergs for the invasions just skip over these DEs and they pull people out fo zones like Orr and Southsun. Not helping matters. However fun these zergs are, they are not helping old world content.
Hi,
So, someone left me a PM borderline attacking me for a post I made in a thread yesterday.
We all have opinions on the game and we all are strong spirited about the game, whether it for or against how the game is going, or both. But Id like to think that most people do not take this to private messages and begin negative bantar back and forth. Ive never experienced that in a game or on a game’s official forums. This individual didn’t even make a post in the thread to which he was referring, but felt the need to leave me a negatively toned PM about a post I made. I have no idea who he/she is, I have never seen them on the forums, or have had any contact with them in game.
I have reported him, because I did not appreciate him targeting me via PM with such a negative condescending tone. Regardless of arguements people have in threads, targeting someone in a PM like that creates an unwanted experience on the forums.
So my question is, does someone at arenanet just glaze over these reports? If he/she feels it isnt worth investigating, is it thrown out and I would not know about it? I think I know the answer, but Id like to know one way or another if someone looked into my complaint. I raise this question, because for things even such as contesting an infraction on the forums, nothing has ever been done. Ive received no feedback from forum officials or moderators or anyone. Ive contested several infractions, and its almost as if noone looks my contestments because I have received no acknowledgement from them. So will I receive an acknowledgement by a human on reporting an ill-favored PM?

In my opinion, the world is too big to expect a big increase in traffic without Anet directing traffic.
Ever since I played Rift and I saw how they handled events, I started to realize why they handled events the way they did. Because if you make everything good across the board, there will be far less people at each place and people will say the game is dying anyway.
Let’s say you made every one of the 1500 dynamic event award amazing loot. Anyone could do any event they want. Then start dividing the player base. WvW people and dungeon people will be doing their thing. SPvP will be doing their thing. And open world people will be doing their thing. But you have to divide the playerbase into Europe and US zones, and then into servers, and then into Zones and then spread them out in each zone. What happens to people who log in at off hours? What are they supposed to do?
I understand why you want the game to have people everywhere, but the world is too large to support that. By directing traffic, Anet is bringing players together.
And if you want to go out and have fun in the world, find friends or join a guild that likes that sort of thing. Mine does.
See, respectfully, I disagree (again :p ). Currently, the invasion in fireheart rise or frostgorge…. level 75-80 zones. A new player cannot join in on those invasions(and get the frost and flame achievement). A level 50 player will have a difficult time staying alive. Any max level characters that might have been roaming around their level 50 zone, are sucked out into these other zones to follow the carrot. It brings max level characters, primarily, together while emptying other zones like Orr, Southsun(which is already empty) and WvW, imo.
And again, I don’t want to be directed. I don’t want to be herded like sheep. Go anywhere, do anything. Thats what I thought the game was about but with each patch, if you want the new shinies, you go to one or two areas. And the shinies themselves are a root of the problem. Reward, reward, reward. Thats all this playerbase cares about. WoW conditioned a lot of people to run on gear treadmills, item progression, holy trinity, raids, etc. GW2 is conditioning us to chase after the carrots and rewards, even if it isnt gear treadmill. Its there, you naturally want it. Its like putting chocolate cake in front of a fat kid. He’ll eat it.
And yes yes, the company line of join a guild and play with friends. All of my friends left the game for all of the common reasons people have left the game. I, through thick and thin, have stuck with it. I am in a guild, and even they say that the game is pulling people out of WvW.
Not all bunnies and unicorns with these patches, they are negative impacts on the game. I think it is an ambitious plan they have, but I just dont think it works with the core of GW2. Just my opinion there.
This is incorrect because people doing the invasion are in the open world PvE areas. Some of these are mid level areas too. Low level areas are excluded since it can cause problems with players starting the game for the first time.
WvW on top tier servers are populated regardless of the Living Story updated. The case where it is empty could be a problem with WvW itself. Servers have WvW population fluctuation on low population servers or people don’t show up due to a poor matchup for the week.
Prior to today’s update Orr, specifically Cursed Shore was a farming area at least this was the case for high population server.
I have a feeling that the playing experience differs on different servers and your problem could be playing on a low population server.
People are in the zones, but not participating in the dynamic events that have been in the zones since launch. They are running from red circle to red circle fighting off twisted minions and aeitherblade.
Orr, was hardly a farming area for the last few months. Maybe on TC it is, maybe on the top 3 servers it is, but on the majority…not so much anymore. Trust me, I have guested on a half dozen NA servers in the last month trying to find a new server. Dragonbrand, Sea of Sorrows, Ehmery Bay, Stormbluff Isle, Fort Aspenwood, Yaks Bend… More often than not, temples are contested, waypoints contested, I ask in map chat to see if anyone is doing any events(specifically to test out the PVE activity in these zones) and received little to no response… during morning hours and NA prime time.. No, PVE in majority of non-living story zones, in my experience, is empty when they release new achievements to be had.
Same goes for mid level zones.
…exploiting what? What did he, or anyone else who has a ton of sprockets left over, exploit?
So I’ve been noticing… With each update, we are herded like cattle to the new POI and achievement farm. Whether it be an instance cut off from the rest of the game, or one particular zone or area at a time.
I thought that the intent of making the world “alive” and to make the core game better was simply that. But when you herd us to specific zones or instances for achievement farming, you are detracting from all of that.
Id be willing to bet that most people are running around the designated clockwork zone for the designated invasion. Previously, it was the pavilion.
Places like WvW, Orr, and mid level zones are just empty and silent. Why? Everyone is busy achievement farming where arenanet tells them to go.
I dont think this is promoting a world that is alive nor do I think it is bettering the core of the game. Your heart is in the right place, but I dont think the living story is simply cutting it.
Where is the sprocket vendor now that the pavilion is “closed”? I didnt spend any of my sprockets yet. What am I going to do with them all? Can i at least vendor them or something?
Open up the sprocket vendor!!
You revert karma, but what about this?
How in the name of all that is good and holy do you have enough resources and luck for multiple legendaries?
Where the hell is my first precursor? At this point, I dont care which one it is.
WTF is wrong with this game where people get multiple legendaries with insane amounts of gold or fantastic RNG luck
(edited by cesmode.4257)
The only thing I currently use karma for are the jewel boxes. I save up several hundred thousand, buy open up a beer or two and click away.
Selling the junk nets a few gold, I get several of the same minis that I cant do anything with, the very rare lodestone, more karma to spend, or the very rare obby shard.
Im not really going for my legendary, but just from doing this, Ive been able to supply myself with enough obby shards to complete the mystic forge daily (use 5 times) each time it is a daily.. and then even use the mystic forge even more for those clovers. I still have like, 90.
Karma is as available as air, and as useless as the Kardashians.
And dont tell me you live in a vaccum while watching the Kardashians either.
Edit: I think I found my first forum signature here… :p
Coining that phrase about Karma.
@Arthedain, @Lucyfer – Thanks.
And yes, a ~40% potential reduction isn’t exactly trivial when you consider some of the inventories people have been saving.
Saving for what?!
Karma is the easiest thing to come by in the game, and you get plenty of it. But there are so few things that are worth any karma. What could people possibly desire other than the three things I listed?
Shards, primarily. Clovers (for mats, or clovers).
Also, I’ve used temple merchants to quickly outfit new 80s. I’m sure newer players who don’t have the now harder to come by dungeon tokens would have appreciated some quick karma exotics as well.
Try not to be so short-sighted (from the persepctive of a vet).
When I hit 80, on each of my level 80 toons, I might have had enough karma for ONE temple piece. Maybe.. most likely not. I dont know how you were able to gear out an entire toon with temple gear, or even two pieces.
Yeah, saw no numbers in their post. I guess someone did the math themselves? Did you check your work?
Still, Again.. its a useless currency. If you arent going for a legendary, you dont need obby shards. If you dont care about temple sets, you wont be spending it there. The only other place is the jewel boxes..a karma sink.
Relax guys. Im with you that arenanet makes questionable decisions, but this is not one to jump on them about.
But I do agree, why give us clickable things.. just hand out the karma man.
Ehhh… until there are numbers, I wouldnt whine.
The amount consumed increased, and now no longer benefits from boosts.Ok, so they want us to use karma boosts for events in the game and actually playing. Nothing wrong with that.
Even still, karma is pretty useless. Why do you guys care?
Only things people might find use in are:Obsidian shards
Orrian boxes
Temple setsI cant see much more of a use.
There are numbers, 50% increasement
and you need aprox 1 mil karma / legendary
I ran out of karma after making a few
You ran out of karma after making a few legendaries? Something like 90% of the playerbase doesnt have one legendary. You’ll get no sympathies from me.
And I didnt see them post numbers.. I’ll go re-read.
@Arthedain, @Lucyfer – Thanks.

Clar Island.
I lol’d. Hahaha.
Hi, for the last week or two, Ive noticed that sometimes a graphic trail (of maybe a projectile like Necrotic grasp or something like that) stays on the screen for two or three seconds after the target dies.
Ive also noticed, on ocassion, blue rectangles popping up from the ground randomly..
This all started within the last week or two. I have not changed anything with my drivers.
Running Nvidia GTX 460.
It takes away from that sense of wonder you get when you first start an MMO.
I miss that..
Buy your friend a copy? Friends do do that sometimes
If he is your friend, why wait for a short trial? Be his friend!
Screw that! If I dropped 60 bucks on a few copies, id be out that 60 bucks now. My friends dont play anymore.
smileface
But I do not know why they continue to say they cannot(or wont) restore things like this.
Well some of the challenges that springs to mind is:
how do you determine how far the roll back should go?
if a player removed something from the guild vault during the rollback period, legitimately or not, how do you track that item and any other item/value that may have been modified in the interim through use or trading? do you go in and undo a bunch of transactions that were linked to it?
This is all determined as per a policy arenante sets forth for the people that do the restores.
When I was playing WoW, my account was hacked. The guy sold all my stuff, gear, etc. Lost everything, but the gold he earned remained on the account haha. Blizzard restored everything that was sold and deleted, including placing characters back on the correct servers. And they came pretty close in terms of items lost and restored. I dont know how they did it, but they did.
Also, they allowed me to keep that gold that the hacker made.. so I guess I made out in the end Had to wait 2.5 weeks, but I guess that was the price to pay.
@Siphaed: Well, there is a thing called logs. These games produce an enormous amount of data given to the developers. And these requests for restoration are reviewed by humans, carefully. If a request came their way for a guild restoration, protocol for that type of request would be to look at chat logs and see if there wasn’t some sort of internal squabble or some other red flag that would deem a ‘no restoration’ response.
During my tenure with WoW, these cases were scrutinized carefully by blizzard and people were told “No, youre account wont be restored due to xyz”.
It may cost a few bucks and take time, but it is proper support for a game the size of an MMO.
Having worked in a capacity where backup & restore was my daily routine, it is a bit more involved than copy and pasting. Im going to go out on a limb and guess that arenanet utilizes some sort of veritas or equilogic type of backup application and infrastructure for their servers.
But I do not know why they continue to say they cannot(or wont) restore things like this. If I followed all of their security proceedures, and still got hacked… I would stop playing in a heart beat. Theres no way, no way on this green earth that I would continue. As a guild, this would be utterly demoralizing. Arenanet needs to help out these guilds.
A bad egg my friend. My post history shows that I have strong opposing feelings and thoughts toward the game, even though it is also a fantastic MMO. There is one individual on these forums that I have found to have a mutual respect for because he and I have really gotten into it (you know who you are). And I do thing he is out of his mind and WRONG. But I’d never take it to the game. Why bother? Accomplish what? My game time is limited, so why waste the time and energy.
No, I don’t think its common and Ive never seen this happen in any MMO ive played. That person is childish. Sorry you and your friend experienced it.
Report it, move on with your day. No sense in dwelling.
edit: Not to be stereotypical, this game requires no subscription. So when a parent buys his kid this game for holiday or birthday or whatever reason, the kid doesn’t need daddy’s credit card to continue a subscription. Thinking about it logically, you should find more kids in this game than sub games, although Im not sure thats entirely true. Food for thought.
And it appears ANET condones this behavior, I have never participated in these zerg trains for that reason.
this is simply no true. dev said they are gonna make finishing event more rewarding then failing.
Giving us 1000 karma instead of 378 is not worth it still (just guessing thats what they will do). I dont care for another drip of karma. Karma is useless. i stock pile until I blow them on orrian boxes.. Thats it. No real use.
remove most all currencies in game, replace them with karma. Then you will see great things in this game.
I agree OP. I have seen this as well. It is a bit..hmm, unwelcoming for a game? Especially with the free weekend coming up? If a low level player trying the game out with the free trial, joins up with a few other low levels, and kill the vale troll..and then the zerg comes along and bashes him/her for doing so.. I bet he/she won’t be buying the game.
Arenanet: This is what happens when you make our gaming experiences soley for reward. You are rewarded for everything but scratching your rear end. Rewards, rewards, rewards. More! More currency, more currency, more rewards. If I had a nickle for everytime a developer used the word reward.
What about playing the game to have fun, as its own reward? So what if these idiots shed off the game and leave. Guess what, we have a less complicated, easier to manage game with a less toxic player base.
But go ahead, ignore my dozen or so posts on this issue, where the game is so saturated with reward as the only endgame. Keep pumping more into the game.
Edit: I started out the game in Stormbluff Isle (NA), until about December when I transferred off. I was recently in the market for a server transfer again. I guested on a half dozen servers to check out the PVE experience, etc. I checked out Stormbluff isle again and they had these bad eggs each time I guested there. Not calling out SBI, it was a great home when I was there. But I these zerg trains were calling people out everytime something like this happened, to which I rushed to the defense of these low level players.
BTW, its not like you’re getting insane loot anyways. A couple silver, 1-2k karma (which is a useless currency), some XP, maybe 3 T5 mats, and maybe a scroll of knowledge. Pft.. wheres the rares, ectos, precursors, skins. If anyone gets any of these from champ farming, they are a statistic. Ive never seen anyone post about uber lewts they get from champ farming.
(edited by cesmode.4257)
Definately show him the living story. That stuff is boss right there.
No..please dont do that.
Depends what he would find interesting, honestly.
-Explore the vast world, show him the intricate detail of a mountainside covered in vines
-Show him some cool low level events
-Let him listen to some of the NPCs bicker back and forth between eachother after completing an event.
-Have him try a few classes (If he played games like WoW before, stay away from Charr…people tend to think the “on all four” running is lame after playing other MMOs)
-Show him how you can literally see a storm rolling into Kessix hills.
-Show him a hidden underwater cave.
-Show him a jumping puzzle
I just transmuted a zerker focus from CoF tokens.
Bah why spend the resources to make both when you can only wield one? Thats a lot of ecto and coin.
Jumping puzzles (along with mini-dungeons) will be some of the locations that begin rewarding ascended crafting materials once crafting to 500 goes live; this is intended to help make these areas more rewarding and fun to go back to and play.
Ty. Going with the spirit of the game this is a must. Unfortunately, the game is moving away from intrinsic rewards and playing for the fun of it. People want reward reward reward, so doing jumping puzzle and getting greens and blues is hardly worth it.
Hi,
Just letting arenanet know that there might be a small graphical bug with Spirit Links.
When I previewed the item from the trading post, and had the item stowed, it displayed perfectly on my hip. I saw the entire graphic. Lovely.
I went ahead and crafted the item. Now when I equip it, and stow it, depending on the angle that you look at the character the Spirit Links appear to be “inside my pocket”. You see a glowly misty effect coming from my pants(haha), which I am not fond of! But continuing to pan around, I then see the links. I think it is when I am looking at the side of my character when the links disappear.
Not sure if this is easily fixable, but please address =)
Ty!
Thanks for the replies.
I went with spirit links, for multiple reasons…
I didnt want to burn 250 skill points with the upcoming purchasable skills via skill points.
I got my spirit links last night instead of another few days to a week.
Required less mystic coins.
Looking at screenshots and videos of anamoly, it seemed to not “fit” the character models hands. It would almost pierce right through their hands when wielding, so that hand is right in the middle of it. Didnt like that.
When stowed, it looked like your rear end was glowing. Didnt like that.
And now thinking about it, you’re right…you’d stick out in WvW like a sore thumb. (watch they patch this today haha).
One thing that I dont like about spirit links on my character…when I previewed the focus in the TP, it didnt cut off/merge with my character model when stowed. It displayed perfectly hanging from my hip. However, in reality, when stowed, depending on the angle that you look at the character, it sits inside my pocket! But if you pan the camera around, then the focus is displayed.
Other than thakittens been neat. The chains trail when you throw down temporal curtain and things like that…so thats neat. It also has a distortion effect when wielded, so thats unique to it as well. Distortion effect kind of goes with the mesmer when you use #2 on sword.
I agree, anomaly has an overall better particle effect, but financial, time, and “display” reasons… I went with spirit links.
what is glitchy about anomaly?
Hi,
Debating which focus to get for my mesmer.. I like the look of both, neat effects and all.
What would fit a mesmer better?
What would look better on a Sylvari Female, both stowed and wielded?
Which effect looks “cooler”, the glowey collapsing effect of the anamoly, or the ghostly distorted chains of spirit links?
So torn… I have about 20 more skill points to farm if I went with the anomaly, which Id rather not do. Id rather not burn 250 total SP on it. Yet, farming/buying the mats for spirit links will be a bit more costly. I guess its time vs money. Also trying to keep in mind the abilities that will be purchasable via skill points this year, via colin’s thread.
Thoughts?
Which one?!
Get the bloodstone if you have the obsidian shards and the two gifts otherwise you’re just going to waste inventory space for no reason.
Getting SP was never really hard and even easier now that champions have a chance of dropping them.
Again, its not for the legendary.
I will just be kitten ed if I spend 200 skill points today, and the next up date or two(within a month) give us new skills…each skill costing 50 SP.
SP are “easy” to come by, I guess. They do take time though. 518+ hours played on my thief (most with one toon), and I have 173 left. Granted, I spent a bit of them in the forge and all on other things for crystals. But I dont think I have garnered much more than maybe..220 or 230.
I have 1100+ hours spread on the account on other toons, so I also dont sit on one character either.
They’re not going to tell us specifically when stuff comes out.
Why purchase the bloodstone anyway? Leave that for last.
The Anomaly Trying to make it.
Ember farming is exactly what GW2 needed, it promotes getting a group together to do events. What Arenanet need to do now is tweak it so that it’s more beneficial to complete the event.
Co-ordinating an event chain is way better than waypointing from champ to champ, if you removed the incentives for doing events like ember then all you are left with are waypoint farming.
I’d much rather do event chains than farming a champ rotation.
I just want to point out, we agree. The game is more fun and exciting when defeating things and working together with other players is rewarding. Champions have always been an issue in this area, and it’s why we addressed it, we’re continuing to pursue other areas in the game in upcoming releases as well.
That being said: the behavior we want is people join up together to play events, but they want to succeed those events and win them, we never want to be in a state where intentionally failing an event is more rewarding or better for players. We’re not going to take a giant hammer to champion loot, we love it and love seeing people joining together to do events. We do want to make succeeding events what the game is about. We also do want to make some events in the future even more challenging, and in return more rewarding for succeeding.
You will see changes over time to help directly encourage players to always want to try and succeed events, we don’t ever want to create conflict between players who want to progress an event chain, and those who want to fail it. It’s bad for the game and not what Gw2 is all about.
Make the karma and gold reward for completing events worthwhile. 378 karma and 2 silver doesnt cut it. Never has, never will. Make karma worth farming for people that don’t want orr sets or a legendary.
Currently, if you are not farming for a legendary or going after a temple set, dynamic events reward a level 80 with nothing useful. The $$ given is poor, the karma is useless, and until we have those purchasable skills via skill points, experience is useless too.
So I remember reading that there will be skills purchasable via skillpoints. Is this going to be happening anytime soon? Like in the next month or two? Or can I go ahead and spend 200 skill points on a bloodstone… Do we have any data on this?
Hi,
So im trying to run a zerker gs build for my mesmer but the damage just seems poor. Compared to a thief unload or warrior blades…it seems pretty pitiful. Maybe i am just playing it wrong but what kind of damage can i expect from shatters and whatnot?
