i’m mostly staff elem and haven’t gone anywhere without my frost bow in ages
haven’t they been buffing conjures marginally in the past few patches?
i don’t think the mechanic of them is horrible, {yes, many people want kits}
frostbow and fire sword are in a pretty good place now, no? i know the other 3 burn through charges pretty quick depending on what you use them for.. i’m usually the first person to complain, but i’m not seeing it here.. can someone dumb it down for me?

and with the new changes i can’t justify putting 10 from water grandmaster as arcana master.. as tempting as a functional lingering elements is..
relatively, no they are junk
this is a very, very.. beyond broken game
but, to be fair.. some of the buffs received in the last patch prevent elementalist from 100% flat out being trolled to death.. there are now a few encounters where your opponent will have to put at least a minimal amount of effort into downing your character
i’m not being sarcastic either, that’s my honest assessment of elementalist vs pre-patch elem

viable build diversity is a pipe dream for elementalist
there’s just no sizable cushion {skills, base stats, traits} to fall back on in the interest of developing non-cookie-cutter builds {most of which are horrible}
not to mention our 5 magics have poor synergy with our 4 attunements
if i played against myself in any scenario my elementalist would be so ridiculously dead
it’s not even funny
and i already play this game purely out of habit so there’s no point in me boycotting a certain profession to get a blatantly obvious point across
although, i will say that i main an elem and briefly considered purchasing more than one gw1 title and have decided not to.. not all, but some of that decision was based on the state of elementalist in this game

i’m having a horrible time with backpieces, the new bloodstone quivers don’t offer as many back piece options as their fractals counterparts and the the in-game exotic i want is a drop from a dungeon run that no one is good at..
i think they lost interest in elementalist circa eye of the north…
ghost eater’s hide is a dire exotic lvl backpiece previously dropped in the ghosteater’s path of ascalonian catacombs
i’m wondering, is this still an attainable drop?
dire exotic armor/trinkets were never implemented properly and i’d appreciate getting this backpiece as i dislike ascended or crafting, not to mention the new bloodstone backpieces were poorly implemented as well and offer less options than currently available pieces.. anyway, ^^ any help/info appreciated

umm, maxed out attune recharge stayed the same
whereas, people who don’t sink into arcane line but use it marginally are able to accomplish better recharg time than previously…

forum was broke awhile, anyway.. thnx for the help and i did the instance 3 times.. the watchknight either blows up, turns into a clockwork spider, or just deactivates depending what you click.. also, great end cinematic.. can always rely on the environment/art teams and map builders to do a fair job atleast

so i was doing the tower instance thingy by going to kessex hills
{and i didn’t realize my traits reset themselves, so that was fun by the way}
and when i finished it, “the tower was going to collapse”
so i exited the instance and nothing happened, the big dumb tower is just gone
did i do it wrong? not that it’s important, anything with haskmeer, delqua, 0r scarlet is bound to be junk.. but, i was just wondering if i missed a cut scene or something

i’m in the same boat as the opening poster.. if the upcoming patch isn’t world changing i’m just going to flat out quit the game.. if you asked me a year ago what i wanted for elem, i’d say “well, i just want the bug fixes” a few months ago “well, some marginal buffs to keep elem relevant” and today? it better be “world changing” or the sentimental value i foolishly invested in my elementalist will only captivate me enough to log in a few minutes a day to march my minis around lion’s arch.. or mindlessly farm a few hours for time killing purposes

it got “balanced”
yes, now take a look at elementalists health pool, their armor, their amount of control skills But also their poor damage {glass canon not withstanding; very, very easily broken glass}, their cooldowns, their trait vs attunement Constraints, their poor condition output in a so called condition meta, their laughable cast times
now, once you’ve stepped past elementalist you can’t throw a stick in this game without hitting a profession that has an infinite capacity to reset fights.. something an elementalist simply can not survive
dropped the ball is an understatement.. more like packed it away and sent it off to some distant planet.. we are getting an earthline buff tuesday.. it’s a step in the right direction, a baby step.. if there’s any balance in the world of tyria there’d be an immense overhaul they’re not telling us about
to reinforce what i was saying earlier, to defeat an elementalist you simply need to play any other profession and either swiftly kill them or wait {a very few seconds} until they are running on fumes
it’s just an extra blast finisher

1 – add 100 range
2 – subtract 1/4 second activation
3 – change knockback to launch
4 – add 150 rush forward
ideal, you would get more bounces on skill 1, cast time on 2 would ultimately reduce to one second, the track would widen on skill 3, and 4 would retain its current animation while being a leap forward {but not a combo ‘leap’ finisher}

not to mention ascended gear has been implemented poorly already..
the new bloodstone quivers was a step in the right direction but fractal farmers still get better options.. Anyway, exotic gear and upgrade slots was a much better system than ascended infusions.. will runes fit into ascended armor?
as horrible as this game is especially for elementalists

i’m a lvl 80 norn elementalist.. i’m pretty much interested in the Dragonspawn’s Destiny lore.. i think my personal story follows eir a bit? and zojja if you are asuran, but moreso if you do the dungeons?
anyway, my point is.. Is there a dungeon guide that categorizes certain lore/ characters lore and lists the specific dungeons you should do to accomplish this? and in the best order, i’m assuming low level to high level..
i never completed my personal story, but if there is a dungeon guide similar to what i described above.. please, direct me to it..

open world pvp servers are typically mmo ghost towns
your idea of hopping on another servers world to trash them Is interesting
but i think you would have tons of people quitting the game
so i don’t think it would work out either way..

probably not.. because statistically ‘permanent “side” content’ they put in the game, is used less.. they find it redundant to pour resources into things like that
i’d like to point out the “theoretically sound on paper” argument
yesterday, after a Scarlet invasion.. {we defeated her} someone map chatted
“sure, we consistently fail the past few weeks.. then we succeed when the event is over”
this speaks volumes of how ArenaNet treats us like cash cows, herds us a certain way, and justifies their actions with statistics.. while in reality, they are completely oblivious toward the gaming community
i personally think SAB is just a failed attempt at being retro and i didn’t pay much attention to the first one.. i’ll definitely work on some achievements this time.. if it was permanent content then i probably would have stopped in and tried it a few times and just appreciated it for what it’s worth
