i think the best example of living story was dragon bash
it gave a real sense of ‘this is what tyrian festivities are like’

i think the only valid concern was poi’s, and people mostly complain because they are impatient, something is broken, or they don’t want to lose an exploit. wvw has as much lore as it needs and you can easily get your poi’s depending on what server you’re on and when.. if there are open world pvp servers they are typically Very low population, so that pretty much speaks for itself..
i bought gw2 for pvE and i’ve spent most of my time in wvw, i don’t think anyone “forced” into wvw will find it ‘impossible’ to adapt to

personally i see myself reading the gw2 wiki in a few years, “and scarlet then went on to live in exhile” mostly because Tyria not the continent is huge.. scarlet has been nonchalantly built up as this larger than life adversary yet there could be much, much worse things.. i don’t really expect her to function as anything other than a villain unless extinction is on the line..

no clue what exactly is going to happen though, they simply didn’t give us enough material.. as for the next update, offshoots in wvw were quite annoying but energy probes were simple and interesting enough.. if the trade off is some temporary pvE content in wvw for a new overflow map, i’m willing to give that a try

i switched to scepter and snuck over a dragon’s tooth >:p

i chose the specific boons to add a synergistic value between the attunements

i hope they didn’t spend much time on the marinet dropping from the device cutscene because it looks just as good if you watch it from your character

yeh, primordus.. we know for a fact he is the one to bring total destruction and the great dwarven armies can’t fend it off indefinitely.. i think this has been said before but it’s possible scarlet saw an upcoming armageddon, one where the pact lost and she at that point utilized her knowledge to ‘salvage’ the remaining inhabitants of tyria as steam creatures.. i think if she takes out the gate network and cuts off the orders she will deconstruct the pact as it currently stands and the remaining races of tyria will be forced to submit to her command

the people raging about this event must be dinosaurs.. i’ve seen very little of the usual ‘your not farming or exploiting correctly’ nonsense.. this update gave everyone something to do, something to read, something to watch, there’s even alil grind thrown in {very little} and if you want major coordination there are servers that like to do that sort of thing.. i really can’t see where anyone can be overly-stressed about this content.. ArenaNet finally stepped up and put in something for Everyone and didn’t penalize anyone for being a casual player

scarlet specifically states in her tower of nightmares cutscene that lion’s arch will be talking about the dragon bash incident for generations.. so if she doesn’t intend to annihilate lion’s arch and the three orders, what are the arrows and X’s for?

I noticed there’s a pin in the Tyrian map in Scarlett’s lair.

oddly enough this ?accidental drop on the map seems to run from the aethervolt lab to the luminates power plant.. the plant uses arcane energy and they are planning architecture for a better rata sum.. the aethervolt lab has an asuran who says they prefer the elements, and it would be wonderful to harness Steam.. there’s a disfunctional asura gate at that facility

did you visit the devourer hatchery or whatever, i think it’s an instance

standing in your own lava font now grants ’protection
standing in the blast radius of your ice spike now grants ’might
standing in your own static field now grants ’retaliation
standing in the blast radius of your eruption now grants ’fury

i think previously you could sneak between the words? maybe i’m wrong.. but you can do this with the chat window, somewhat.. anyway, the new system takes up that whole block of the screen, if it has to be there then they need to develop a pop-out menu for All of that so i can hide All of it in a tiny space.. like the chat bubble
also, characters npc or otherwise have their lifebar pinned to the top center of the screen, in other.. older games you can move it around.. and if it Has to be there they need to shave it down as much as possible.. it’s a detriment to targeting things far away or above you

nawh, we gotta remove the marionette so we can put the giant ice wurm corpse back in false lake.. {it’s actually not supposed to be an ice wurm and is based off a wurm encounter from gw1 and is placed in the exact location, which is neat.. or it Is an ice wurm from our guildwars era simply because wurms like to die there}
although having a pile of enormous clockwork pieces there and having small factions study/fight over it every now and then could be an interesting world-pop-up event..
any past dungeon can be plugged into the game through fractals, maybe in the future they will have certain fractals with larger groups permitted?

each lane has a npc, they’re not your typical npc in this battle.. taimi was surprisingly formidable.. and they all contribute to the in-game cinematics
the mobs try to push through the barricades at a pretty fair pace.. you’ll notice when you have too few people, or a zerg
and what is this massive area getting one-shotted After the encounter.. Not During the battle, After.. someone learned a few things, a tip of the hat and a tray of cookies to you arenanet..
managed to get into the arena twice.. one of my groups failed, the other succeeded.. and i’m not a gameguide junkie, the event itself is pretty straightforward and i don’t call them lanes 1 through 5, we’re not bowling.. in any case, it does take some time and coordination.. if you get into the arena, you get some spare fragments.. it’s not impossible to catch an event and farm the living story materials..
overall, this was a pretty good patch.. we have some old school quest scavenging, story to read or watch, and a large event that’s not impossible.. jungle worms and tequatl are probably just for the first m in mmo, so if you don’t like them.. just don’t do them
