1. We don’t fight in blobs. That is not how you counter the hammer/confusion trains your server likes to use. So this is quite inaccurate.

2. The veiled implication that we are spying on you is really uncalled for an not even remotely close to reality. Please don’t do it, it is blatantly disrespectful to everyone. The maps are extremely small and the objectives limited, you shouldn’t be surprised to ever run into people.

It was, I agree. I was there on the JQ side. I hate this time of the week when the match is pretty well wrapped up and only a fraction of the people seem to care anymore. A fully fortified garrison being hit and people want to do jumping puzzles to stock up on siege for next week, or figure we’ll just get it back later. It was like herding cats, only more challenging. Well, keep punching us in the nose like that, hopefully you’ll wake some people up and get them focused. The crew that was making a real effort to fight back simply didn’t have the support. We shouldn’t be out-manned like that these days. Sigh…

Nice job misinterpreting that completely and twisting it around to mean something it didn’t. Impressive indeed. Like I said, the crews that were making a real effort to compete didn’t have the support. There were some of us giving it Hell, just not enough. Compliments to SoR for bringing the fight like they did though.

For not having support as you claim, there was a whole lot of coordinated movement. Not only that, you had the numbers as well. How exactly did you mean it? Where you just trying to be disrespectful to your opponents and not your team mates? If you step back and read what you just wrote again, you will see that you just insulted them again.

Excuses aren’t needed really, just say good fights and move along.

Eles aren’t overpowered. One particular build with a particular weapon set is what is a tad too strong defensively.

See, I find even this flawed. In order for an ele to have this kind of survivability, they severely reduce damage output. Considering that other classes can go cannon and be just as tanky or have just as much survivability via other methods without sacrificing damage, is all I really need to reason that there is nothing wrong with it.

The only problem bunker d/d ele’s have are the people that are used to seeing an ele and collecting free bags that can no longer do it. That and the people the cry about them running away…. Yeah, think about that for a second. Nerf a class because they run away too much…..

I agree with you with the one exception of what I mentioned. In that scenarios, it is far far easier to apply than to remove. Regardless though, even if exploiting a bug/flaw like some are doing, you just need to pay attention to it.

I get that completely even if it lacks a little foresight in some aspects. At some point, it is bound to get boring playing during a time against opponents that cannot field anyone to fight you. When the point is reached, people will move on to other servers/games naturally. No need to worry about it as opponents and no need to chest thump about it if you are the ones doing it.

Yeah, the doors are still stinging from that. I remember walking in to our garrison one evening and catching the north inner door trying to hang itself. It just wasn’t take being molested like that repeatedly while our players were sleeping.

Please don’t pretend JQ is unique in that. We picked up a lot of excellent guild too. You had a higher base than us from the beginning and you really can’t argue with me on that because I started out on JQ. When I transferred to SoR there was practically nobody when the server was in 17th place. As far as community building skills, I think SoR has done a kitten fine job.

Can act like you were part of the community but when more time was spent trolling your own server mates than the enemies there are some issues. If I recall correctly the same group of people that founded a site to get away from the JQ community site because you guys weren’t allowed to troll your OWN Server mates. So please don’t talk about how you were once part of JQ because while you may have been on the server you weren’t part of the community.

You aren’t being realistic in regards to what happened. In fact, this is not even remotely close to the situation. My issue was with the moderation on the server forums and had nothing to do with trolling people on on my own server/team. If you actually know the situation in entirety and be honest with it, you would clearly know and understand that I was attempting to foster open and honest communication without fear of someone getting silly and shutting it down needlessly.

There was one exception to that where you would be somewhat correct. A certain situation with a certain person from a certain guild that was creating a ton of drama and trying to be divisive. Yeah, I got into it with them just like 90% of everyone else did.

Moral of the story, keep it real and free of fabrication. If you don’t know the whole story and situation, keep your mouth shut about it. Thanks

The only current issue with confusion is the bug/flaw that allows a crap ton of them to be stacked extremely quickly. Some people are exploiting it get 15-25 stacks out extremely quickly in the middle of big fights. Still though, if you pay attention to it, it is easy to deal with ….but I can see from some aspects why people would have a problem with that many.

lol…agreed….having the best coverage is a definite advantage. Unfortunately the SoS of old seems to be no more and now is suffering from a lack of coverage. This, to me, seems to be the real issue. If SoS was a strong as they were, say 4 to 6 weeks ago, then the advantage JQ has in regards to coverage would have been mitigated to a large extend, which would have lead to closer scores for JQ, SoS and SoR – despite SoR not having as much coverage.

My observation is that SOS is suffering from tiredness and a lack of motivation and probably needs to drop to T2 to regain some motivation.

Word’s can’t even describe how funny this is to me. I haven’t even seriously had to WvW this week except the weekend where we secured a lead to help our SEA/Oceanic’s out and make sure they could enjoy the CNY. Which if anyone was paying attention did affect their activity.

Its too bad you haven’t seriously WvW’d this week. Your NA crew could use the help.

My guildie’s needed a break we’ve consistently ran out there every night (we ran I think 25-30hrs of WvW every weekend for like two months). It’s been nice being able to give them a chance to rest because at one point we didn’t have much NA and had to log ridiculous hours to compete.

I wish I could do the same to make up for our periods of obvious coverage lackage, but I would both have to quit my job and stop sleeping to do that :p

Having fought Blackgate for far more weeks than you. I can safely say that they have less coverage than JQ and their NA presence isn’t as good either. They belong in T1 of SoS most likely. They have better coverage than SoR but a far worse NA crew, so I am not so sure they ‘deserve’ T1 and more than SoR despite all the Pvdoor they did for numerous weeks uncontested to run up score.

That was a long time ago my friend. Blackgates guilds are far more improved then the days of being in tier 2. We are far more battle tested then you are seeing as this is your first stint in tier 1. Get ready for that third place spot when bg returns to tier 1 my friend

My server’s WvW folk are actually really happy.

For people who transferred to servers that have tons of WvW people and now are like “Queues are worse than before!” and “Zergs are worse than before!” and “Culling is worse than before!” well, I dunno, your problems are different than mine and what did you expect?

If there is a big with queues, then yeah, that’s a complaint. Though since I hardly ever queue, I don’t have an opinion on that problem.

Nah there was an actual bug with queues or they changed map capacity hoping nobody would notice. They were quiet about it when it happened, and equally quiet about it when it disappeared.

T1 / T2 example most nights (not reset night)

Before – 15-30 minutes avg
During – 1-3 hours
Now – 15-30 minutes avg

Everyone noticed it except for the servers with extremely low WvW populations.

Perhaps, but out manned servers already have everything else working against them. Implementing something like this would help some out manned and out coveraged servers at least ‘attempt’ to level the playing field when it comes to scoring via better play.

Order of severity:

1. Not being able to play period (whatever they temporarily broke queues with and never admitted to for example).

2. Culling. Not seeing people killing you is a huge problem. Not seeing friendlies to coordinate with is another.

I could care less about zergs if I can see them and react to them. Yes, the maps need to be made larger and some game play added to reduce the desirability of zerging. This however is more of a long term need than an immediate one.

There’s a lot of negative banter, but there is one thing you can take from it… there’s a lot of people that are quite into the WvW scene and a good bit of server pride as well. While the chat may be less than friendly I think overall it’s a good sign.

Bah, I certainly have equals out there. Hell, thieves tend to eat me alive half the time if I don’t see them coming. Very frustrating. Still, the occasional victory makes it worth while. Although I do find that against non-thieves at the worst I have a pretty decent chance on at least escaping with my mesmer. I love the confusion masses of clones can sow out there.

I have the opposite problem. I can all but ignore thieves, but good mesmers give me problems.

The current state of WvW dictates that the server with the most coverage across all time slots will win. It doesn’t matter how you play when you are online or how successful you are in one time slot, if you are fighting people that have a superior numbers advantage most of any given 24 hour period. You will lose no matter what you do each and every time.

Pretty obvious ‘something’ has to change in WvW.

Most of the changes I see people propose would punish players in other time slots by reducing the effort of their actions. For example, making points count less for holding objectives when there is huge population imbalance. This isn’t fair to them.

Likewise it is not ‘fair’ to players during a server’s prime time period currently, because they get ‘punished’ for something this is out of their control. They can fight hard all night and do extremely well, only to have all that work undone because they can’t field the same numbers during the other 18 hours of a given day.

Something is going to have to give at some point. Counting kills/deaths (in some method) would help prime time players be awarded for their effort without punishing off peak players. The trick is doing it in a balanced manner and doing it right.

Not completely true. Someone that knows what they are doing can keep conditions on us fairly well because they know how class works and exploit it.

There is nothing wrong with D/D eles running bunker. Low damage is the tradeoff for survivability. There is nothing wrong with the water tree or its synergy. The lowest armor and health pool in the game requires that we have this.

Consider that glass cannon warriors are more durable than bunker eles. I am not saying they can ‘outlast’ us 1v1, but they can out sustain us by far in WvW fights. They do this while being able to hit like a truck.

Nothing wrong with bunker ele’s except for the people whining because they can’t spam 1,2,1,2,1,2 against them and win 1v1.

Didn’t ND go from SoR to BG during their match up together …then on to SoS? If it is the same ND I am thinking of, they have already been on those two servers.

So after reading the past two pages the question becomes if SoR is so much better at PvP and open field why isn’t SoR winning?

I have to assume that you play this game or you wouldn’t have an account to post with. What do you think the score currently would be if we used the only time slot where SoR has adequate numbers? I am not going to say SoR would be winning at all. I am going to say that the score would be really really tight, regardless of who was ahead.
