u can sell them now to a merchant, but its silly they still drop if they have no use anymore.
Sorry but the easiest is the one in Shiverpeak Mountains (Shamans Rookery), an extremely accessible waypoint, low level area, straight short jump path in an open cavern (4-5 jumps) and two very simple mobs at the end.
Some people might be kitten ed of at the birds knocking you down but hey you’ll circumvent the first part by using swiftness to jump to the rich copper node (daily gathering thank you) or if you have stability avoidance skills just running thru them.
U never have done Under New Management then. The easy JP in Southsun Cove.
Imo, much easier than Shamans Rookery.
Easy access. Use the SC portal in LA.
The JP has no foes to fight. And failing a jump is very forgiving.

Started my first Guardian recently. Tried all weapons ofcourse.
About Staff, my first impression was WTF, in a bad way.
Anet should should have gone all the way decreasing the Staff’s range and should have made it a melee quarterstaff type weapon.
For melee i ended up with a Hammer, and for range i use for now Scepter/Torch.
GS seems great to, but GS is one of the few most expensive weapons to buy on the TP.
Could be an issue if u have little copper/silver while leveling.
In the OP’s post i do find the (interesting) question how players that atm have like 9k AP, got that amount.
My first guesses would be, multiple chars and that they did/do PvX and WvW.
u r all sure a killed Ambient creature counts as a kill, i thought they didnt !?
I really want this DE removed.
It seems to be active pretty much always when i get there.
It can get bugged and who knows when it then will go away.
Al it does, imho, is annoy and hinder players who travel through that area.
Choosing to fight then, in the case the DE is not bugged ?!
If u switch to yer weapons, u loose your aquired Aspects.
U have to to find new ones again. Dont like that either.
I am going to agree with this, since HoM award points are gotten in GW1 and not in GW2.
In my above post i checked the merchants/vendors with a lvl55 char.
After reading Meow Ren’s post I decided to try again with a lvl80 char.
I was now offfered lvl80 items. And indeed they cost both coin and badges.
ok, didnt expect that.
The thing i dont like.
I use lowest graphics setting, and the glowing/white part is just very bright white that hurts my eyes :-(
Hmm, recently checked the Badge of Honer vendors, and i recall all Invader armor and weapons r lvl60.
Just checked, evrything is lvl60, and the Invader Ring is even lvl51
I noticed now all these items all have 2 stats instead of 3 stats.
Hmm, wanted to add screenshot but the item info pop up doesnt show on the screenshot.
So, that means u can only put an upgrade in that ring that has a lvl51 or less requirement. It sucks :-(

@OP, dont blame Anet. Its NCSoft thats really behind the GemStore (making real money).
Me, i consider everything in the GemStore to expensive to spend real money on.
I would guess NCSoft is at least satisfied enough with how much real money they make with the GemStore.
But i always wonder if GemStore prices would be lowered (significantly) if sales would be so much more NCSoft would actually make more real money.
To the first 2 responders, i meant situations with a large group of foes at the same time or alot foes short after each other.
One or two foes is not an issue
A minor correction.
I mentioned a max amount of 3 Clones and as much Phantasms as u can equip skills for. That may be to much.
Two weapon sets, and max 2 Utility skills with a Phantasm is 4 Phantasm max.
So, limiting max Phantasms is prolly needed.
Say max 3 clones and max 2 Phantams.
I was mainly inspired by Necro minions currently.
They all heal out of combat (except the traited one), so necro has often to nearly always a small minions army at disposal.
but then there’s no way to get rid of half useless phantasms such as iwarden/image if needed? lol no thanks i prefer what we currently have… One thing i agree tho, phantasms shouldn’t die after your target dies but only disappear when you’re out of combat or you die.
Ok, u want to be able get rid of Phantasms before Combat Mode ends.
So, removing Phantams from Shatter mechanism not then.
At least someone agrees that then Phantasms should stay a bit longer
(edited by dagrdagaz.4913)
In the character selection screen, in the (small) square, it shows a headshot of your char and a background icon for where your char is.
For Labyrinthine Cliffs this background icon is prolly bugged or missing.
For me at least, the background is grey, it does not show a background icon.
My two biggest issues with mesmer;
- When not killed, illusions self-destruct when their target dies.
This becomes an issue when fighting a group of more foes, or more foes short after each other. High chance u have to wait for illusion summoning skills to recharge.
- When leveling my mesmer, i depended deeply on illusions. Therefore i never used or understood the Shatter mechanism. I simply could not afford to purposely destroy my illusions.
A few ideas, wich involve separation of Clones and Phantasms;
Idea 1:
Phantasm, when not killed, self-destruct when Combat Mode ends.
Clones, when not killed, will still self-destruct when their target dies.
Idea2:
Remove Phantasms from the Shatter mechanism.
Using a Shatter skill only Shatters Clones.
Traits related to Shattering only effects Clones.
In the UI, the 3 circles left of the Shatter skills (icons) is only for Clones.
This means max 3 Clones plus Phantasms from how many Phantasm skills can be equipped.
Some other changes due to idea 1 and 2:
I think this already is, but when having max amount of illusions, creating a new clone can only replace another clone, not a phantasm.
When having a certain Phantasm active, creating a new same one will replace the active one.
This means only 1 of each specific Phantasm can be active (at the same time).
Also, consider these base ideas. Fine tuning (rebalancing other details) may be required).
I have no idea how this effects WvW or PvP, i only play PvE.
So, feedback in regards to WvW or PvP is welcome.

Near Poyaqui, a DE was happening, subdue 5 barfight instigators.
This DE is prolly stuck in an endless loop becos the 5th Intigator was nowhere to be found.
I found 4 subdued Instigators near Pouadui. But a 5th, i could not find.
What makes things bad is that as long this 5th Instigator is not subdued, nearby patrons turn hostile. Hindering safe travel, or talking safely to Poyaqui.
Vabbi server, btw
(edited by dagrdagaz.4913)
I am on Vabbi. Cant say it is empty, but more players would be welcome.
So, come to Vabbi !
tl;dr
Have 5 chars, leveling from easiest to hardest:
Ranger>Warrior>Necro>Mesmer>Ele
Ranger, Necro and Mesmer r lvl80
Warrior and Ele r lvl55
I was happy i already leveled my mesmer way past lvl40 before the nerf to Ilusionary Celerity.
Leveling Ele became to much a pain, and my warrior is not a primary char for me.

One other thing, the main place to trade is Kamadan NA districts.
Without Nightfall u wont have Kamadan outpost.
Buying things will be nearly impossible then since trading in LA is nearly dead.
(Before Kamadan, LA outpost was the main trading place.)
@azazil, If u need some help with GW1, PM me here or cantact me in GW2.
Then we can see when i can help in GW1.
odd/weird/interesting
I have no trouble with Lighning Pull.
However, I can not get the hang of Assisted Jumping.
When possible i use Lightning Pull instead of Assisted Jumping.
So, that video.
Sofar, I never had that the jump is to short or to long, and i also nevr rolled forward when landing. Always landed completely still.
Wierd.

@op
Bit to dramatic, your topic title.
Just mention in the title that karma boosts dont work.
I’ll leave it at one needs to get used to it.
It does look better imo.
IF u nvr played GW1 before, and IF u have no friends that have played GW1 to help u, i am gonna guess something like at least a few months to get 30 HoM points.
Perhaps, if u find a good efficient HoM guide, it can be done in less, dunno.
A large factor is how much ingame money u have/get/acquire.
Since alot for HoM can be purchased (mini’s,HoM weapons,Elite armor and Hero armor)
(edited by dagrdagaz.4913)
oooh, i am still getting a “The connection was reset” error page (in Firefox)
me
My first guild, that i joined right after launch, died pretty fast.
Recently i joined another guild.
However, most members are lvl80 for a while, and they focus on dungeons, fractals and world bosses. And the new Guild activities.
So, i still solo PvE.
Wich isnt that bad, i can manage most of it solo.
I do hope when i do need some help with something in PvE my new guild will help.
Both take a bit more time to learn to play (good).
But i would say Mesmer.
1. Pets will now be able attack destroyable objects.
2. Spirits are invulnarable. The main issue why i dont use them, they die to fast.
3. Agressive mode for Pet (wich means the pet attacks any agrressive foe in range).
With multiple foes, after evry killed foe, the pet runs back to me (if the pet is not attacked).

The new WP is the one at the right side in the middle (on the image on above page)
Getting there with a low lvl char can be difficult, u have to fight through several Veteran and normal ghosts.
HoM style would be great!
As for where to put the reward merchant, in your Home instance would be a good place.
Seriously, use an Invisable bag.
These complaints r totally void if u use an Invisable bag.
Evry char i have has several Invisable bags, and in one of those are permanently a few mini’s.
The only thing i dont like about the current mini system is that mini’s i have in my Invisable bags do not count for the mini achievement.
1. Some or more parts of explorable PvE that is not solo friendly.
2. Living story content evry two weeks instead of fixing broken things that r still in this game since launch.
3. Everlasting grindfest for better equipment when u reach lvl80
If u now have 99% becos new Poi’s have been added, that i get.
But that your title is gone, imho that should not be.
Dunno if thats a bug or intended though.
HP lag for world bosses, could be ?!
Noticed two weird things twice now with the Jungle Worm in Caledon.
When it spawned it had 50-60% HP, then suddenly 100%
Slowly it kept loosing HP while being attackted, and then at something like 10% HP it suddenly dropped dead.
I also noticed sometimes with normal foes they drop dead when their HP bar is not fully empty yet.
Shortbow should never have had the same range as Longbow.
The shortbow range change is not a nerf, but a late error correction.
I do think a good idea is to add SB to that Eagle Eye trait.
All i know is, when u sell an item on the TP for a certain value, that 5% of that value is taken as listing fee from your inventory money as soon as u place the item, and when the item sells 10% of that value is taken as sell tax. The money amount shown as Projected Profit is the value minus the 10% tax.
The 5% listing fee has nothing to do with what u get from selling the item becos it was taken from u seperately.
Maybe u can post exactly wich 2 items fail to transmute.
Post screenshot(s) or mention evry stat/detail of these items.
Have u tried Heart quest vendors aswell?!
the new PoI in Gendarren will be availabe prolly next tuesday, or the week after.
Just got the trait Debilitating Dissipation;
Clones apply a random condition to nearby foes when they are killed.
But my Clones explode, is that normal?!
Dunno yet if a random condition is applied or not.
I dont like an exploding animation for this trait.
I nvr checked if true, but according to the tooltips Illusionary Celerity nvr stacked with each weapon’s traited recharge reduction for Illusions.
What i did notice after the patch was that the traited recharge reduction i had for 2 weapons worked fine. So, that softens the pain a bit (for Illusionary Celerity change)
I was worried i had to retire my illusions based PvE mesmer to, tnx to nerf to Illusionary Celerity and Vengefull Images.
But after playing a bit, i did not notice i had more trouble.
And yes, i also took the 5 points i had in Illusions trait out of it.
Regarding Personal stories, at least some (or more) can be (very) difficult when u do them solo at intended character level.
When u encounter a difficult one, do it again when u r at least few or alot more character levels higher.
Or, try find more players to do the personal story mission with.
good point!
I now destroy Fireworks when i get them.
Not worth the storage spaces.
If no one is doing this event it should be removed completely, or be removed from automatic rotation (put an NPC somewhere that will start it instead).
this is AWESOME, Ele is so bad that now u r given the option to just kill yerself !!!
EDIT: I tried, it worked, but the burning dmg was so little it was neglectable :-\

What makes the Queensdale JP not so easy (at lower char lvls at least) are the oozes and vet oozes at the end.
Easy ones, what Pixelpumpkin said plus Urmaug’s Secret in LA
(havnt done Vizier’s Tower, so dont know about that one though)
Some dailies r easier than others. One can then choose the 5 easiest ones.
Dailies dont have to be that easy either imo.
Zero tickets in 673 coffers. Anet hates me…
Anet does not hate you.
NCsoft just wants all your real money.
One thing about a possible expansion, more new bugs and still not all bugs and broken things in original GW2 fixed, nty.
wait, u pay money and then u get emailed a code.
[sarcasm]
Yeah, that sounds not fishy at all…
[/sarcasm]
