I like the Bard, Monk, Ritualist, and Duelist. The Duelist could use some tweaking, but the basic concepts are nice.
Dualist?! Really?
I also don’t use town clothes, and I will never spend extra cash on them. I would happily buy some decent-looking armor from the gem store, though (both the available sets are tawdry or spiky, neither of which is good).
business 101: Show your customers your product.
How do you expect people to buy a product if you don’t show them what it is?
Riding pants and gloves + leather hoodie + pilots hat = one awesome set of medium armor skins. Please consider doing this!
(edited by danbuter.2314)
I am really surprised ANet hasn’t figured out that people will buy armor skins (especially Medium Armor, where most in-game sets look bad).
I hope the next set of Ascended gear has slightly better stats than the current ones. Just to keep that grind going!
I agree!

I like the pistol/pistol thief from the rp and animations aspect, but it seems that it won’t hold up compared to other builds. Is there a recommended build for p/p?
Are there certain skills that really help it out?
thanks
When the vast majority of your players are in one region (the US), you really should have things set up to make that area happy.
Once again, watch our video and tell us that we are elite players.
oh dangit. You can’t hear us.
Wow, you are so amazing you don’t even realize how l33t you are! Not to mention condescending. Do you really expect people to go to YouTube to watch a video of you playing a game?
Either that, or they’re trying to raise the standard for players who are actually able to complete the dungeons. The fact of the matter is, there will be people who are good enough, and there will be people who aren’t. Dungeons aren’t for everyone. They are, like you said, supposed to be a challenge, not only for you, but for the myriad of other players that play this game. Thus, your definition of what might be “incredibly frustrating and difficult” might be a cakewalk to others. Perhaps your bar is just set differently from Arenanet’s.
Aiming an important part of the game soley at elite players is a really dumb move. You’d think Anet would know better.
Even AC story is tougher. They need to bump it’s “required” level up to 40 or so.
WvW is the end game. Sadly, it’s really boring. Lots of building castles and yak guarding. Occasional battles.
I don’t like the asura, evena little bit. No interest in playing one. I do love their golems, though.
OK, how about adding an elite skill for Engineers to summon a mechanical golem? That would also be cool, and work within the existing class structure.
How about having an open plain near the center with an objective on it? No defenses, just a place for everyone to zerg to and have awesome battles.
Daylight Savings Time. Korea doesn’t have it.
Is it possible for you guys to rethink this? Having the Daily kick in right in the middle of prime US gaming time is a TERRIBLE idea. Maybe you don’t realize it, but a good chunk of players immediately drop everything they are doing to go chase Dailies. This creates a lot of havoc. Why wouldn’t you have the reset at 3AM or some other slow time?
I love the artwork that is shown when you change instances. Is there a way to look at the various pics outside of the game?
Award everyone laurels for all completed maps that they have done. It’s recorded in your character info already. This would be a nice bonus for those of us who actually bother to explore the world.
Maybe have it on an account basis, where once you complete a map on any character, you can no longer get laurels for it. Then again, you get a laurel for the daily, which takes maybe an hour (often less). Clearing a map will take a LOT of time, even those you outlevel by a lot. So it might be worth it to keep rewarding laurels, for those who want to farm the maps. If they are willing to put in a day’s worth of adventuring for one (or maybe two, if they can go that fast) laurels, why not reward them?
Warrior or Guardian, as noted. If you plan to pvp at 80, go Guardian.
How about a Golemancer class? It would be similar to the Necromancer, but the golemancer would have mechanical pets. He’d also use pistols and rifles, and maybe a sword or staff. I could also see him wearing medium or heavy armor.
I’d play one. I would try Norns, but they are huge and spastic.
I’d like it. As noted, wearing a top hat on a girl makes all her hair fall out.
How about giving one laurel for completing a wilderness map?
Not to be disrespectful, but the Asian community needs to have the stick surgically removed from their hinter regions if they dislike a composite of the Asian world, then they should realize we are not on Earth here. The “white-anglo-saxon” world is also not “culturally sensitive” or even minimally “historically correct” if compared to the history of the planet Earth, but it is correct in the world of Tyria and beyond.
You may not realize this, but the civil rights movement has never entered east asia. I’ve been there quite a few times, and they are very backwards about civil rights.
Laurels = grind. You might not mind doing them, but it kills 30 minutes or more for me each day. Not doing laurels would be stupid.
Any word on what today’s patch was about?
Engineers are the highest skill-required class in the game, imo. If you like that kind of stuff, engineer is the way to go. (I love my engi).
I’d like both a karate monk (give them gloves as weapons) and a golemancer (would be similar to necro, but with mechanical golems as pets and he’d use guns).
Polearms would be a great addition to the game.
I would love to play a ranger, and I keep trying. However, I really don’t like the pets (not least because they are so kitten . How about making them similar to engineer kits, where you can slot a pet at 7 to 9, if you want one. Then give the ranger a bit more survivability to make up for no pet? (not a lot, just a slight buff)
I hope anet just does the easy fix. Nerf chests! That’ll stop guesting quick.
Traits are the biggest issue. Our level 30 traits are equal to some other classes level 10 traits.
Also, battering ram is awesome, it just needs a shorter cooldown.
Ignore Kynmarcher. He thinks he’s a mod, but he just likes to complain about people posting things that bug them.
I’d like a pvp overhaul. Also, BUG FIXES! (Anet is much better about bug fixing than swtor, but it can always improve).
Ignore Kynmarcher. We need at LEAST one thread about this every single day, until anet fixes the problem.
I’ve been on the other side of Queensdale (hunting apples and spiders) on TC and had the server start crawling. Behemoth was up, and whole map stalls. Not a good impression for first time players, either.
What is DR?
min char
Every single time the Behemoth is up on Tarnished Coast, the dang server crawls and forces a bunch of people into overflow. How about putting guests into overflow before any regular server characters?
Wait. I can get a chest on my world, then guest to other worlds and get them there, as well? There’s no global timer?
i started on TC, and it’s pretty great. I am not looking forward to zergs of people who are jsut there to loot and pillage, then disappear. Then again, if there were a few server merges, this wouldn’t happen. How many server worlds are there, currently? Maybe merge some of the smaller population ones.
And yet another emergency patch. I’m losing faith.
AC story was hell. The troll was way tougher than any of the bosses. I guess ANet just listens to the people who dungeon all day/every day. Too bad they require other players to do dungeons to get the monthly.
Now zerkers will have to think! Guardians won’t get booted because their dps isn’t good enough! The horror!
Well, they are restarting again. Emergency patch to fix the emergency patch.
What a joke… should remove PVP from GW2 and pretend it never happened… how can people fail so hard after something so good like GW1’s PVP?
Because they tried to make it a WoW clone to make more money.
When you enter a dungeon, it gives the first player the option to go story mode or exploration mode.
