horrible idea. you would have to up there total defense about 75% making it just under what a warrior is.
or you could stack vitality and toughness, like everyone else trying to counter this OP broken class.
OP broken class -_-
I would like to hear your reasoning on this?
Also travlane says things just as bad as what you just said so don’t think I’m singling you out. He’s just beyond hope.
because as a bunker engineer i’m still taking 6k backstabs. just how much armor do i need to reduce damage from a thief?
So you’re basing your opinion off of how the worst class in the game survives against one of the better ones (and not even the best)?
Would I be ok with the amulets just requiring laurels, or are the ones also requiring ectos a whole lot better? I’m mainly looking at this as ectos are worth a lot of money, and I’m not sure sinking that much into one amulet is worth it.
I think anyone posting a “this needs nerfed” thread should be immediately permabanned.
Speed up the attack rate for Longbow #1 for rangers.
I have yet to do the Living Story. It just doesn’t interest me. In fact, the periscopes have made me skip going to areas such as the shiverpeaks. If anything, Flame & Frost has made certain zones more likely to be avoided.
On TC, the only zones that are busy are Lions Arch, Divinitys Reach, and the maps with bosses like Shadow Behemoth. Everywhere else you might find 10 people.
Is there a limit on how many pets I can friend as a ranger? There is nothing on the wiki saying anything about this. thanks!
In general, I like the ranger Longbow. The only change I suggest is maybe speeding up attack 1 (autoattack) a little bit. It seems awfully slow, and the damage ends up being much lower than the shortbow #1. Other than that, I think this weapon is great.

Don’t know. There is nothing in the News forum.
I’m still angry that Queen Jennah and Logan Thackery don’t have matching quaggan backpacks!
Or maybe there’s nothing wrong with the current situation. You guys might want to consider adventuring in Orr or other level 80 areas. Oh wait, that would be too hard!
Gadgets desperately need work. My biggest issue with all of them is their crazy long cooldown times. If you are lucky, you might get to use a gadget twice in one fight, but I certainly wouldn’t count on it.
Breaking news:
Anet doesn’t read engi forum.
Basically this.
This is not feedback
But it is the truth.
There are always those who want to rush to the end, eager to claim they are the best. See the first 48 hours after any WoW release.
I didn’t bother to read that.
It should be Engineer, but anet hates the class and nerfs it every patch.
All of these zones should be buffed to compensate for level 80s. Anyone below level 80 should die in one hit, otherwise, it’s too easy!
Thieves are going to be even more useless.
This game requires lots of farming. It’s just not quite as much as required by some other games, so a lot of people defend it even to the point of being ridiculous.
A wiki is not a tutorial.
This is a pistol/shield build with battering ram, throw mine, and elixir b. It will be for pve and maybe some wvw. No kits. It’s likely crap dps, but I think I can do well with it. Opinions, anyone?
(I don’t spvp or team pvp)
I wonder how this will get nerfed?
This is the biggest weakness of the game. I am amazed at just how much stuff is not explained. You are just expected to know it.
I really, really hope they add this in!
Also, add in a section for Back gear!
This would be a great idea. However, up to this point, anet nerfs alternate builds and buffs the most-abused builds (with the exception of engineer, which gets all popular builds nerfed).
I think the idea is kind of neat as far as a living world, but they really need to add more permanent content before doing this stuff. Even keeping this temporary dungeon around, but slightly modified since the storyline is over, would be preferable than only having it for 2 weeks.
I think the concept of Gadgets is really cool. However, most of them have extremely long cooldowns, so they just aren’t as good as any other option. Please look into this. I’d be happy if they weren’t quite as good if I could actually use them more than once per minute.
You have no idea whatsoever how many people a.net has on any given project or what the best use of their time is. Why do people keep assuming they know how to run a game better than people who have run a successful game for 8 years already?
Well they cant have a big team since the content worth of an xpac is 4months out and still waiting…. so why waste this content they do give us for only a week or 3 ? why not keep it in game, iv never played a MMO that makes content then removes it.
don’t say the holiday events as you will be seeing the same events for years to come.
As I remember the dev team is a couple hundred people, and we know that there were, what, 8 people on the SAB team? I can’t say what all those people are doing, but I think they have the resources to develop more than one thing at once.
If so were is all the new patchs ? I mean if you got 100 ppl still working on the game and they had content stored before release (crystal desert) and the mini games that were meant to be in at launch(25) why aren’t we seeing it, instead we get a weak 30mins content per month
still waiting since launch for Nerco minions to get their ai fixed ditto ranger pets and traits
That is all going to be included in the first “buy to play” expansion.
Be careful what you guys wish for. I have an engineer. Anet’s idea of balancing them is to nerf every good build, so that all are equally bad, therefor creating build diversity. Expect this to happen to you if they focus on your class.

Permanent content makes a LOT more sense than this temporary stuff.
This is internet 101 stuff. I’m really surprised anet doesn’t do it.
Why did Anet waste developer resources on making a dungeon that will only be available for 2 weeks (April 30 to May 12.)? I don’t understand this.
We don’t need vertical progression. We need horizontal progression. the company that made gw1 understood this. Sadly, I don’t think many of them are left.
I like gw2, and I don’t think it is dying. It is in trouble, though. The current direction of anet appears to be “nerf everything except the popular classes, which get buffs”, ignore long lists of broken skills and traits, don’t hotfix important things like world bosses not working, etc.
I suspect that when Elder Scrolls Online is released, if it is a decent game, that gw2 will become a ghost town. I really hope not, as I like this game. I’m just hoping that anet wakes up and actually looks at what is going wrong. Threads like this might (though not likely) get them to start fixing stuff that should have been fixed months ago.
It is dead unless you stick to starting areas, certain dungeons, wvw, or Orr.
There’s a server where people got to Orr? Where?
Tarnished Coast usually has 10 or so people on it, and we even group together!
Wish people would grow up and stop throwing the term “fanboy” at those who disagree with them.
Some people earn the title. If you blindly defend a corporation, even when it is making poor decisions, you deserve to be dismissed out of hand. That is what the fanboy moniker was created for. (Especially when said corporation could give a crap about you or anyone else, as long as it gets its money).
I play pve. I might sidetrack into wvw or pvp, but that is very rare. For pve, pistol/dagger has been pretty good so far (I’m only level 25). Does it hold up over time?
What trait lines should I focus on?
Most of the builds don’t list their weapon set in the sticky thread so it’s hard to find one for my set. In any case, I’m not sure what nerfs we will get today, so I suspect a lot of the builds in the sticky thread will no longer work (if engineer is an example).
It is dead unless you stick to starting areas, certain dungeons, wvw, or Orr.
Gotta love these threads. You know what other forum loudly denied the game was in trouble and that anyone who said it was dying was just lying?
city of heroes.
Level cap increase is a TERRIBLE idea. I really hope anet is intelligent enough not to do it.
This game needs mounts. Waypoints suck, and are way too expensive.
I love your post. Sadly, no one at anet will ever see it. I’m pretty sure they have all hidden the Engineer subforum on their computers so that it doesn’t even show up.
anet doesn’t fix bugs. You will just have to ignore this effect, or use another weapon.
Show us on the doll where the mean WoW touched you. I swear, it seems like “wow-hate” is a communicable disease amongst gamers.
Tarnished Coast. Brenda bugged on path. SB hasn’t been seen since last night.
If you guys could fix this before the April 30th patch, that would be great.
Oh wait, anet doesn’t know how to do a hotfix. Crud. Guesting it is.
Did you read your own posts in this thread? You say engineers are just fine, when it’s the least played class and it gets nerfed every patch. Telling anet that engineers have no issues is just insane. Not to mention all of your “The sky is falling” lines in any thread that posts real issues with the class.
And ‘letting my pointless perjury pass’? Seriously?

I run a guardian as my main, but I also have an engineer that is slowly leveling. I have tried every class for at least 20 levels, and the guardian was the most fun, to me.
(I had an engineer at level 50, but rage-deleted her after the last few nerfs/patches. I love the gameplay, so I restarted another. I guess I love punishment).
