If you want to fight underwater, play an engineer. Engies curbstomp anyone underwater.
Multiple threads bout this already.
Looking this over some more, I have very little condition removal. Should I use Prayer to Kormir in the 9 slot for this?
I would have to say I would have preferred jodhpurs over the centurion skirt.
Please tell me the cutlass that sky pirate is wielding on the main page will be available in game!
(I know about the rapier, but that cutlass looks much cooler!)
I wonder if it’s related to the Shatterstone bug?
Why so bitter? You can get a set if you want one. They’re not even expensive via gold for gems compared to a lot of other gear.
I haven’t picked this up yet, as I’m still leveling my thief, but when she hits 80 and gets her exotics, I’m definitely giving her the medium set. It looks great (though I don’t really care for the stiff pointy skirt, but it’s ok).
I copied some of you guys posts to the Game Bugs thread, so the devs might actually see them. I’m 99% sure they’d never see them on this forum.
PvP is the focus of this game. Always has been.
Um, no, a game can’t be said to be PVP focused when PVP is tucked away in its own zones, out of the way.
At the absolute most you can argue PVP and PVE are equal, though you’d be hard to show that the majority of layers ever PVP.
He’s probably referring to the fact that all of the balance patches are based solely upon pvp results, and these fixes for pvp have completely removed a bunch of pve builds from the game.
Last night there were massive lag spikes in the first Ascalon/Charr zone.
I will make a note for the devs:
I started an elementalist today just to try it out. If I was a brand new player, and one of the first powers I have access to doesn’t work, I’d probably just drop this game immediately. You guys really need to fix this right away. It makes a terrible first impression.
I was just trying out an Ele again and got this while in the starting tutorial. Looks really bad as far as first reactions would go with a new player.
hmm, looks like both of you would recommend Thrill of the Crime. Does it bump up dps that much? I was looking at caltrops at dodge because of it’s damage over time and the bonus to Signet of Malice heals.

New version after your input. I think I want to keep caltrops on dodge and daggerstorm, at least for now.
Any more suggestions (maybe drop that last 5 in Deadly Arts and put it somewhere else?
And another note from that thread:
Yeah, it’s any skill with a cast time. If you try to queue anything that’s not insta-cast, it doesn’t interrupt the skill per-se, because shatterstone will still go through it’s FULL 1 second cast, but the shatterstone will never actually show up… Bad.
Interesting note from another forum-goer (hopefully mods will just merge these threads so they can find all notes in one place).:
It gets interrupted by autoattacking, along with focus fire 4 (firewall). It has something to do with reduction of the aftercast after recent patch. You have to disable the autoattack to get it working.
I’ve already made a post about it in bugs section. Feel free to post the video there as well so there’s bigger chance devs notice it.

Another thread on this in Ele forum (not including one I just posted as your thread was not on first page when I looked).
thanks for your input! I suspected my build attempt was pretty sub-par.
Elementalist Scepter water skill 2: Shatterstone. It works maybe one in five times that I cast it. This counts with both standing still and moving.
How’s that for a build? I’m no expert, so any suggestions are welcome.
Has anyone come up with a good pve sword/pistol build following yesterday’s patch yet? I’m interested!
How about starting and stickying a new Post-Patch Build thread? Many of these builds no longer work as intended.
I’ve gotten this a number of times. So far, only when I leveled right after an event/mob kill. I’ve noticed it in Queensdale, for sure. Probably other maps, as well.

If your necro even approaches the competence of a guardian, he’s op. At least to all non-necro players.
i dont understand what the prob is …
in gw1 they seperated pvp/pve skills, and it worked.. and we had triple the choices..and we could choose to have a pet or not, it was OUR character, our playstyle….and there was not that much ranger hate. seemed like the community was content…
now it feels we took steps backwards, it feels worse. like they dont have any experience which this class anymore.
i would have assumed that they would have used the structure that works….and not go silly on us..
just a thought
That’s because hardly any gw1 coders are still at anet. They have all left for better jobs.
Yes, it should. If the AI was better, I’d have had no issues with pets.
It’s in the announcements section, but Necro downed state should be working correctly now. haha!
Necromancer:
•Path of Midnight: This trait now properly reduces the recharge of Tainted Shackles.
•Necromancer downed health is now the correct amount in all formats on all characters.

Lets talk about thieves and blind, thives wars 2, lets reroll a thief and just play thefs everyone, maybe that day they will nerf them instead of balancing the game towards them.
Thieves aren’t even close to op. The only people who have trouble beating them just don’t know how to play.
My prediction is you will see a lot less mesmers. Rangers are going to be near-extinct. The anet guys in charge of this patch really dropped the ball.
(edited by danbuter.2314)
Mesmer is no longer on this list. Holy nerfbat!
Apparently the premise of all professions being able to perform any role isn’t what they wanted for the Thief. They’re limiting our options more and more.
Could be worse. Mesmers are apparently ONLY supposed to play shatter builds now.
I’m thinking of restarting a pve thief with sword/pistol. How are they after today’s patch?
To answer the question of the OP, simply we have no way of knowing what is coming tomorrow. Everything we have seen from the reddit and gw2hub posts is unofficial. Some things may be true some may not, but until tomorrow noone knows for sure.
lol. notes were spot-on.
So is sword/pistol still awesome in pve?
The sets already on the market are only 500. I was really hoping this price would be maintained. Blah.
wander the mid level areas and collect all the crafting stuff. sell it on the trading post. mass profit!
Also, can’t give trait advice until we see how bad today’s patch will be.
Then they moved terror to the master slot, which makes it so you can’t take master of corruption and terror unless you kitten up your other trait choices. Why do they have to F up our builds to give us one or two other LACKLUSTER BUILDS!
godkitten you anet
This is the exact same thing they did with their Engineer and Ranger “buff” patches. I am not surprised at all. I really only hoped for Reanimator to go away.
I hope that these aren’t real. While some of them are quite interesting, the inventions line, which is easily the weakest line the engineer has, with almost entirely useless traits through-out, is baically untouched. Meanwhile the tool line, which is already very strong, receives updates?
Nah, I can’t believe that these notes would be real, that’d just be ludicrous.
You haven’t been around for the last 6 patches, have you?
Most threads on mounts get locked.
There was absolutely no reason to add yet another condition to the game.
A number of video game sites are posting stuff. there is also a new video gameplay preview up on Massively.
So Reanimator is still there? Blah.

The Medium and Heavy sets look awesome. I really hope they are skins on the gem store at a reasonable price.
Ascended gear is a terrible idea. I do not want a gear treadmill. There already is one via laurels to get amulets, and that’s too much!
I really, really hate going into zones with lots of Risen in them. So annoying. They have knockdowns, confusions, etc, and all it does is make them frustrating to fight. They also tend to gang up on me, so I can’t get a break between fights. Not fun at all.
Counterpoint is the Nightmare Court. Probably the best group of villains I’ve seen in a game, both from storyline and combat mechanics. I wish there were more mobs like them and a lot less Risen.
