Best: Snowden and similar areas right around it.
Worst: Black Citadel and most charr stuff.
Looks like a bunch of gadgets got their cooldowns lowered, which is awesome.
Torment is troubling. If classes like Thieves take damage when they try to dodge, they are going to die fast.
What does gw1 max gear have to do with anything? It’s a tangent on his main point.
How many players are going to have to go find new gear if suddenly the stat requirements for their preferred build change?
If you feel that TC is dying then go guest or transfer back to another server. I’m sure there’s plenty of players that want in on TC.
TC is one of the biggest servers. Where would I go?
I’ve been working on world completion for the last few days on TC and see people everywhere. Mid zones aren’t packed with people, but it seems like there is always at least a couple people around me.
That’s what I said in the opening post. You find a couple people on any given map, but that’s it. I think there needs to be a way to entice players to go to every map.
Not many specifics for the Trait changes. I imagine they are still finalizing them.
This is frustrating. Outside of the cities and the starting zones, I’m lucky to find 5 people on a map (Tarnished Coast). I can’t even imagine how bad it is on low-pop servers.
To exasperate this, events are focusing on Lion’s Arch, which is normally overcrowded, even without events.
Maybe add in more world bosses? How about one in every zone, each of which drops a chest similar to shadow behemoth and similar bosses? This would at least spread out the players a bit.
I swear it’s some kind of psychosis with gamers and their favorite MMO company. They will defend every single aspect of a company and its game, even stuff that is obviously broken. I love gw2, but I have to admit things like RNG and requiring 50s to even participate in the moa race is just beyond stupid.
Cantha and Elona. Why not have both?
Instead, we’ll get the bird-men and that one hidden zone. haha
Maybe you should check the Game Bugs forum before making snide comments.
Is it really that hard to run tests for a few hours before putting a patch on the Live server? Today’s effigy patch has broken numerous events, which are currently stuck in limbo. If you’d tested for a few hours, you’d have caught this in house.
If axe 1 either cleaved or had the default attack speed bumped up a little, it would be fine.
Yeah, if this game had a sub, I’d have been gone months ago. It’s fun, but not sub-worthy.
I think it’s funny what lengths people will go to defend a company that obviously made a mistake with a bug.
Ever since the effigy patch went live, lots of events are breaking. Quests get stuck at 7/8 waves defeated, Barthol is stuck fighting some centaurs forever, etc. Tarnished Coast.
I like just wandering around fighting stuff. I don’t bother with wvw or pvp, as I find both to be incredibly boring.
I agree with the op. DPS seems a far more reasonable agro maker than toughness.
The pre-programmed Living Story does bug me. I wasn’t sure why, but now it’s been pegged in this thread. No matter how I actually view my character, he acts one set way in every LS quest. I don’t even get multiple choices for dialogue. My character just goes off the script.
That really does bug me.
Anyone who is still playing obviously likes the game, or they’d be playing one of the dozens of other free mmo’s. I think gw2 is pretty good, but it certainly needs work. The only other MMO I can even name from last year was Secret World, and it didn’t interest me at all (if it was even in the timeframe for this award).
Is it true that the bigwig at NCSoft who nixed Cantha is no longer there? I really hope so. We don’t need racists like that deciding what is in the game.
I won’t play charr or norns, because I do not like their running animation. They look like they are moving in slow motion.
I won’t play an elementalist because I don’t like those magic bracelets they get whenever they draw their weapons.
Seriously. The reasons are kind of dumb, but these are why I won’t play these in game.
bought 150 RICH dragon coffers.
got 0 tickets.
kitten you, srsly, just kitten you.
And you’re the reason they will keep making RNG boxes. Thanks a bunch!
•Globs of Ectoplasm can now be salvaged into Piles of Crystalline Dust. This change should help Globs of Ectoplasm maintain a strong value in the economy and lower the cost of Crystalline Dust.
•Master Tuning Crystals, Master Maintenance Oil, and Superior Sharpening Stone recipes now take more Piles of Crystalline Dust to craft. This change is to help these consumables maintain a high value with the new influx of dust.
This makes no sense. Here! Have more glittering dust! Oh yeah, all prices have gone up so you are in the exact same boat you were before!
Has anyone submitted a /bug report for this?
I just hope it doesn’t go the route of the recent Engineer “fixes”. There’d be minor bumps in skills or traits no one uses, and a popular trait would get nerfhammered into the ground.
Spear for land use.
Greataxe.
After reading threads like this, I really can’t wait for Wildstar to get released. I’m going there day one and not looking back. Sadly, since ncsoft is involved with Wildstar, as well, it will also probably end up starting strong and sputtering out in a year.
Now that there is a video, expect this combo to be nerfed next patch.
2) any game most notably in a title that’s supposedly making huge wads of dough all the time.
Except that it’s been confirmed here and elsewhere that NCSoft has taken most of the money gw2 has made and put it into Wildstar. They did not give it to anet for bug fixing or anything else.
You don’t get access to skill slot 7 until level 5, and then at later increments, you access the others.
I think July will be interesting, with all the hundred new bugs that will be found that were introduced by this upcoming patch.
And when anet has a kneejerk reaction and nerfs CoF1, all the players will find the next easiest/fastest dungeon, and run it.
See: Ascalonian Catacombs.
Please play in zones appropriate to your character level, and stop trying to ruin the game for everyone else.
Till they actually fix all of the classes, esports aren’t going to happen. You know, stuff like traits not working, etc.
I get 3 ectos every few tries when I salvage a rare. I have BL salvage kits to do it.
Mostly it’s just bad players. Pretty much all of the OP stuff has been nerfed into the ground already.
Please, if you’re going to use the forum… use the forum. These threads are all on the frontpage of the section you posted on. Have a nice day.

Posts like yours should get you an infraction. There is no reason to respond to someone like you did.
I can really only play one character at a time. I’ve tried every profession (and have a 80 guard). For my second character, I really like necro and engineer. Both are a ton of fun. I had an engineer for a while, but rage-deleted her after so many nerfs. I’m very leery about starting another one.
However, necro gets almost no attention, so I’m not really sure I want to go there. I suspect once the devs start “fixing” necro, it will be nerf after nerf, just like they have every other class they have “fixed”.
Excellent post. You should have just posted it here, too. I agree completely with it, in any case.
guardian 80
I have played a number of other characters, and am currently leveling a necro, but my guardian is the only one I really stuck with.
The Mohawk that male sylvari have is really cool. Any chance you could make it available to female sylvari?
How many unposted vids of you going splat did it take to get these?
Please add the PvP version of Masquerade armor into the PvE game. It is one of the best-looking sets you have, yet is not available outside of PvP. Attached is my asura wearing the Light Armor version. He looks amazing!
In any case, they have terrible QC. I mean really, really bad. How do you screw up major parts of multiple classes during a so-called “bug fix” patch? Necros and Engineers both have major issues now BECAUSE of this patch. I’m betting some of the other classes do as well.
The environment on a test-server is never identical with a live-server, so no matter how much money you spend on test-servers there will always be issues.
You’re not doing it right. If they aren’t the same base, they will always miss basic stuff.
Great idea! I want to summon undead, not cthulhu monsters!
Necros in gw2 are not necromancers. They are darkness mages or cthulhu cultists.
I like playing a necro. My favorite class to play is engineer, but I got frustrated due to continual nerfs to one of the weakest classes in the game. Guardian is also a lot of fun to play, for me.
