I have already dropped Discipline with my Berserker. I win Arms, Defense, Berserker and enjoy myself.

Also by allowing us to stick to an opponent better with leaps you also make it easier for us to deal with blind because we’ll hit more when we are not blinded.
What are you comparing our stab to?? Scrapper, revs ?? Or DH??( their unlockable profession skill)
I am not, nor do I need to compare the warrior having plenty of stability to any profession. The warrior just has plenty of access to it.
To be fair a rev cannot have all of the mentioned traits vat one right?
Hammer, Mace/sheild, Sinister amulet, Str, Def, Discipline, and the proper sigils is pretty fun.
mind yu i said fun, not awesome
I went back to the game today and tried to PVP. We were winning half way through the match then this guy just team chats “Oh we have a Warrior. GG/AFK” and we lost 500 to 480. He was AFK for half the fight. I was so kittened but I just very calmly exited match, turned off game, turned off computer, pushed away from the desk, stood up, walked outside, smoked a cigarette, and keyed my neighbor’s car. (he has a Revenent Bumper sticker. )
@Choppy
Here is my Celestial Trapper build.

Its build to be right up in the thick of the fight creating as much condition havoc as possible. I strongly recommend combat camera with it. The basics are simple enough. Keep moving and drop your traps in a circle, use your pets abilities, then swap to the next pet. Keep your pet on passive because they will keep you alive.
your best combo is Spike trap, entangle, Vipers nest, Fire trap, hornet sting, Swap to shortbow mid leap, concussion shot crossfire.
Almost forgot. Celestial avatar is useful for sustaining in a fight as you can still use your traps while its going.
If you are goin more power ranger i can’t help you because i hate power ranger.

I have not seen a serious SS build in awhile.

Revenant
- Overpowered
- Steals warrior’s roll (Front Line Damage)
- Steals Necromancer’s roll (Conditions)
- Steals Thieves roll (Burst Damage)
- Steals Guardians roll (Front Line Support)
- Does all of these things almost as good as these other classes (but not quite as well) and int he case of warriors does it better.
- Because of this the revenant makes the warrior obsolete because the warrior used to be the class that could do anything. (Warriors used to be able to do any roll but not quite as well as other classes could perform their main roll. The only exception was support but we made up for it by being able to do both support and damage at same time.)
- All of these things were stolen by the Revenant.
(edited by emkelly.2371)
As much as something like this would be awesome. it would go against what a warrior is. I think we’d have a much better chance of them just fixing our leaps.
- Leeps should be able to move to a higher level from a lower level and vice versa
- Leaps should ignore all movement impeding effects (and the trait for them should remove these effects (Edit: This includes Chill)
- Leaps should have increased range.
Was rushed when I replied, meant Strength. I’m not sure how you could be playing in WvW and think there is some kind of power creep in regard to Warriors by bringing their weaker traits and skills up to par. Your changes take a class that is barely hanging on in WvW, in some cases organized groups are only running one warrior for banner, and making it wholly ineffective. Your changes seem to be premised on the idea that to make inadequate traits and skills adequate you need to balance it by making adequate skills inadequate. That isn’t true. It isn’t balancing anything, it is just eliminating some styles of play from the class in favor of others.
That’s probably a bit harsh. After all, The Bravery has been doing this for a long time, and he has gone out of his way to create balance changes that players want. He asks for feedback, uses the feedback to augment the changes, and carefully polls players of other professions to see how his suggestions stack up. Not all of his changes are going to be perfect, but he has never made a trait completly ineffective. The trait changes he makes, or mechanic changes he has made have all been carefully formulated to work with the warrior. you may look at one trait and see it has been changed in a direction you did not like, but that is likely because he has allowed it to work better with another trait, weapon, or mechanic better than it did before. So yeah, sorry but im going to have to disagree with you on all fronts.
PS: HEY TheBravery!
Swapping power/ferocity for condition damage/expertise, can go a long way as well if you decide to run a confusion/bleed build. the genral set up is the same, but the stats are just different. Hammer, mace/shield have alot of CC on them, I have run Hammer, mace/shield with Stomp+bullrush, as well as splashed in berserker (replacing discipline) to take headbutt and it can be fun. Warriors have many more options for roaming than in other modes, but follow the general rule of 2600 toughness, focus on two stats, and you should have fun.
I mentioned this before, but Headbutt is NOT a bad choice for your elite. I like Signet of Rage, for the fury and might and swiftness, but I cannot denigh that the CC+Adrenaline combo from Headbutt is amazing. I use headbutt quite often, and when I do i swap into rousing resilience, take outrage, endure pain, and balanced stance. this gives me an actual heal combo.
I run a very simular build. here is what i have found.
Defense
- This is a must have.
- Replace last stand with cleansing Ire, Your longbow Primal Burst skill is great for cleansing.
Tactics
- Drop it. It literally does nothing for you, because berserk gives you access to fire shield, and crack shot is a projectile finisher which actually procs quite often when firing through scorched earth. Leg Specialist is useless.
Arms
- Take It. and this is why
- Berserker’s Fury=Adrenaline +Fury
- Deep Strikes= condition damage through fury
- Furious= condition damage through crits, which you will have alot of due to fury.
- Arms also increases your bleeds.
Berserk
- There’s nothing wrong with taking last blaze over Smash brawler. Personally i run Smash Brawler to have more access to my Primal Burst skills
- Take Dead or Alive over Heat the Soul. Trust me it will save you. Your torch is not as important of as weapon as you think and most of your burning will actually come from your Sword Primal Burst skill.
- Keep King of Fires
Skills
- Drop Blood Reckoning, you don’t do enough direct damage to make it effective
- Take Signet of Healing. Another option is Taking Mending
- Signet of fury: A much better replacement to Head butt for this build. it does not require a hit and does not slow you down.
- Take Signet of rage. Fury=condition damage, might =condition damage, swiftness = mobility.
- If you take Last Blaze take outrage. It will proc your extra burning between using your primal burst skills. it is also a stun break and can be used every 10 seconds.
- If you take Smash Brawler take Dolyak Signet.
- Keep endure pain, but if you go Last blaze you can go for Shattering blow. This will give you two short cooldowns that proc burning. try it out both ways to see which you likebetter
Equipment
- Lose Vipers: the power does not help you becasue you do not have enough burst potential anyway. the bow attacks too slow, and the sword has crap damage.
- Try out wanderers or rabid.
- If you are a skilled kiter then go for it. if not or if you just want to shut down condi’s go milandru
- Sigil of Smoldering: on both weapons.
- Your second rune can be almost anything on critical hit, or on hit. don’t do on swaps, or on kill.
Here is what i run you’ll notice everything is much more optimized.

Keep in mind the builder is broken. If you croll opver condition duration it will say Burning 53% , but it does not add in the base 37% from Wanderers Amulet so your burn duration should wind up being 90%, running balthazar will make it more than 100% which is sort of a waste. 90% duration is almost exactly the same as 100% were talking a difference of half a second.
So i went to go update warrior redone, and someone had added many suggestions to the page. not useful suggestions, but suggestions like removing punctuation and letters from the middle of sentences. I have removed all of those suggestions. And to the troll, bite me.

lol I go against a the grain and use Defense Arms, and Berserker. or Defense Arms and Strength
Voted, btw. I don’t think 100B needs a change. Yes it is a self root, but it is also one of the best burst damages we have in the game. Also you compared it to chop, which is incorrect. it should be compared to Cyclone Axe. Chop is three separate skills that cycle through one another. 100 blades is a single skill. If the greatsword needs any change, then change the after-cast on sword 1
What’s wrong with hb?
Winning against a far superior class and laughing as they get mad.
I know I’m in the minority here, but I like the rollback
I like not having to take a grate to make rifle useful as well.
Warrior
- Brutal Shot: Fixed a bug that prevented the roll-back portion of this skill from functioning if the player was in midair. Fixed a bug that prevented the audio of this ability from playing.
Well. looks like Anet fixed the one bug no one asked them to fix. The ability to roll back or not depending on how you used this skill was actually really neet. now it always rolls back. crap i know some warriors who will be upset by this.
when in doubt, nerf it back to original unless you removed something to justify that 2 seconds. warriors don’t lack in the might department so it seems a little pointless to add 2 seconds to phalanx strength
Tricks
- DH: Lay traps, Pull, Laugh
- Reaper: Death Shroud ignores direct damage AND condition damage, cycle through it three times before going down, Laugh
- Revenant: Prep Utilities, Use sword 3, Use shield laugh
- Scrapper: Use hammer, use Function gyro, Laugh
- Tempest: Follow the Anet Community Approved cycle through Attunements, laugh
- Elementalist: Follow the Anet Community Approved cycle through Attunements, laugh
- Chronomancer: No Tricks, they had their’s taken away, Cry
- Thief: cheer because you are useful again.
King of fires does have it’s place. As a burnzerker I use it all the time and am in love with it. Using it correctly is very difficult though. Basically It works best when you are throwing out many attacks. I can maintain a constant fire shield on my warrior and I detonate it every time i go berserk or use a primal burst skill. With the redesign of Berserk Redone, you will be able to make even better use of it because you will have access to three rage skills. which each can detonate the fire shield.
One thing to not about Berserker Redone. Berserker Redone gains a huge boost in aggressive damage potential at the cost of massive amounts of sustain. With Berserker Redone you no longer have access to Endure Pain or any other stances on demand. At the same time you will have three extra attacks and nearly constant access to your primal burst skills through Berserker.

There are a lot of ways to make warrior sustainable, and yes making stances a warrior mechanic would improve sustainability, but the problem is that the change reworks the warrior profession, and I’d have to account for more variables on how to make the warrior balanced. It’s way too complicated to do that, and much more difficult to balance- I might unintentionally making the warrior broken and over powered, which I want to avoid.
I also don’t want to give warriors something extra that other professions don’t have, like a 5th elite skill. If I were to move defiant stance to the elite category, I’d have to consider removing an elite skill and adding a new healing skill. It’s a rather silly thing, but I’m trying to follow the game’s design model for every profession.
I agree. In Warrior redone I made Stances a class mechanic and reworked the entirety of the warrior profession Adrenaline, Stances, Berserk, Rage Skills. It is not something that is easily done and does not fit with your re-balance. Leave the crazy recreations to me.

@emkelly then u probably don’t know how to play warrior if u consider them weak. U can win most of the fights with the little tricks u can do . But I guess u play the game of anet wants it .
I’ve been playing Warrior since Launch, and while I’m no where near as skilled as the top tier players, I know what I’m doing. I am guessing that by “tricks you can do” you are referring to a 25k unblockable Gunflame. Hate to burst your bubble but that’s not a trick, that’s a gimmick, and it takes 0 skill to pull off and also it takes 0 skill to counter.
Other than Gunflame, there are no real tricks with he warrior. There are ways to bait out dodges, force stun breaks, and of course to time your endure pain effectively, but those are not tricks. that is basic game play.
Warrior only has five playable build because they are so weak. when everything you have is weak its not hard to find a few “decent” options.
Vaans posted one where he killed a warrior then slowed down the video to show endure pain bug. This one was very clear and was nice because it was clear that vaans was not just whining about dying.
No Necro worth his salt is going to get downed by a warrior 1v1. you may catch them right after a big fight when all their stuff is on cooldown, but a fresh necro vs a fresh warrior of same skill level. the edge goes to the necro every time. againt two of them and you are just asking for a beatdown.
That last one I’m not sure what trait you are talking about?
warrior feels weak because it has no sustain. warriors were never meant to kill as quickly as thieves but thieves but they are meant to be right up in the thick of the fight. Unfortunately warriors cannot stand in a fight. Necromancers out sustian and out damage us at the same time
Separate Question. would anyone like to donate artwork to include in Warrior Redone? I would love to pretty up the article a little bit. of course all credit will be given to the artists and you will be included in the Credits

- Increased adrenaline pools on all stances. All stances require 100 Adrenaline to be activated. This is 3.3 times more than a burst skill (30 adrenaline) and 1.5 times more than a 60 second cool down. the reason for this in two fold. First, a warrior can gain more than one adrenaline per second. Second, this allows me to be able to play around with traits which allow a warrior to proc a stance.
- Increased Adrenaline pool on Rage skills. All rage skills now have adrenaline pools of 100 this allows. While this may seem high remember that adrenaline gain in berserk mode is greatly increased.
- Blood Reckoning No longer provides a burst heal. Blood reckoning will only provide health based on how much damage you deal.
- Increased Adrenaline pool of Berserk. Berserk now requires 100 adrenaline to activate. This is because I am removing the cool down on Berserk mode and making it purely based on adrenaline.
- Reworked Adrenal healing. Adrenal healing is now called Vigorous and grants 351 healing every 3s while in combat. This is basically just simplifying the skill and separating it from adrenaline. The original skill does not work with Adrenaline Redone
(edited by emkelly.2371)
I actually only have had this problem vs DH.
I tested it out tonight/this morning. its fun. I would like to spar agianst it with my condi burn warrior.
Oh! in that case yes. When you use a Berserk skill (which is very poorly worded, what it means is when you use a Primal Burst Skill) you will detonate your fire aura. Then your second fire Aura will become activated. Then the next time you use a berserk skill THAT fire aura will detonate.
As for the second question. Yes and no. You get more burn stacks through the detonation and the fire aura itself, but you do not extend the burn duration. Each stack of burns goes off of your burn duration. you you could get them up to 7 seconds but every seven seconds you would drop a stack of burn. The two traits have synergy but not as well as we would all like.
I’ve been waiting for someone to notice this besides me and possibly mention it so i would not feel crazy, but i have noticed that after activating burst mode my primal burst skill often goes on cooldown. its bot very long, maybe one second where my Primal Burst is unable to be used, but it is has caused me to loose otherwise won fights. You can recreate it very easily, just be in combat and activate Berserk mode. Even if you are not interrupted the skill will go on a 0.50s to 1s cooldown about 50% of the time. From what i can tell it happens when you activate berserk mode by way of canceling any weapon skill. For example, you activate Pin Down on the long bow but cancel it mid cast with berserk mode. This will cause Scorched Earth into a cooldown.
This also happens when you cancel a normal burst skill by entering berserk mode. This was likely intended or it was a result of Primal Bursts taking up the same slot as normal burst skills. Either way it needs fixed.
No. First powerful synergy only applies to leap finishers. King of fires does not do leap finishers. Second, powerful synergy basically activates the leap finisher twice. When you leap a field the aura is applied when it ends you get a new field.
Hammer does some massive damage when combined correctly. Earth shaker+icebreaker for example. Head but is be only the best thing for breakfast. Also there’s a sweet little combo. Earth shaker>backbreaker > headbutt >berserk>primal burst>swap>shield bash>mace primal burst>wild blow>loop. Back to hammer. And start again
Currently I’m running Milandru Runes, 90% burning duration, which is fine. I also tried Viper, and honestly you loose a lot of sustain that way. With wanderers a fight with a revenant comes down to who makes the first mistake, while viper, you die almost instantly from
02/15/16
- Peak Performance’s unblockable effect does not affect rampage. Peak Performance now grants 10% damage to Rampage
- Resolved Restorative Strength Comment.
- Fast hands is now Baseline
- Moved Relentless to Minor Trait line
- Moved Signet Mastery
- Brought back Reckless abandon
- Replaced Fast hands trait with Disciplined. This Trait increased stance durations by 20%
Wow, I can’t believe I’m still working on this. Seriously, complete overhauls are way more difficult than just balancing. Still on the workbench, are the remaining weapons and berserk mode, Berserk mode will see a complete rework soon to bring it inline with the Adrenaline Redone stuff.
Now for some FAQS
Why do you waste your time on thins?
Because I’m part of a community of players who see a broken, unappreciated profession and I want that communities voices to be heard. Stop asking, i will not give a different answer
What are your qualifications?
I’m doing it, so there.
ZOMG! what is is Adrenaline Redone!!!!!
Adrenaline redone is very simply a complete overhaul to Adrenaline and how it works. Basically, I have made Stances baseline, made all warrior’s bar skills work in the same way adrenaline worked in Guild Wars 1, That is each stance and burst skill and even Berserk mode has an adrenaline pool which fills over time. These skills do not have cool downs but instead can only be activate when their adrenaline is full.
ZOMG! How Is that going to work with Berserk Mode!?
Good question. There are two options I’m looking at
- Berserk mode and rage skills will Replace stances and burst skills. I actually like this because it does not unbalance the warrior. what i mean with that is that, while tyou will not have access to your stance skills you will have access to them through procs, also i like how it keeps the same feel as the rest of warrior redone.
- Berserk Mode will become a stance that you can activate and primal burst skills replace burst skills. This creates a situation where the warrior always has access to their primal burst skills, and berserk mode, but the skills without changing rage skills. It also haves the benefit of allowing the warrior to still have access to stances (albeit, one less stance because berserk will replace one of them)
But emkelly! Arn’t you afraid this makes warriors too powerful?
Heck no! For one thing i have a great community of players who have watched and commented on my build for months. Every-time something comes up that it too powerful they have made it clear what it is and given suggestions on how to fix it.
I still don’t get this Adrenaline thing. You only have three stances.
Yep, you have to choose three stances. ANd i mean it you choose them. on your adrenaline skill bar you have F1, F2, F3. Each of these has a little selector arrow next to it that you use to select the stance you want to use in your build. Stances are still skills, that you learn with hero points.
Why do you keep double posting?
So that you know when Warrior redone has been updated.
*Who is your favorite homebrew redesigner on the forums?
That’s an easy one. All of them. Anyone who works on things like this. In terms of who i have the most time working with? TheBravery has been an immense help.
What is your end game for this?
To create an out there prototype for what the warrior could be, something that will catch Anet’s eyes. To form my design in a logical and interesting way and form my article in a professional manner that I can submit to Anet as a proposal.
Why not use a spreadsheet like The Bravery?
Spreadsheets are great for organizing thoughts, displaying bulk amounts of information, and making everything look neat and tidy. But they are not good for reading a proposal. So, what i have done is built an article which allows you guys to look at everything I’m doing. I have included a table of contents for quick browsing, and i have a non public spreadsheet which organizes the data as well as includes a lot of math which will be included in the final proposal. Basically what you see is just the overview of Warrior Redone, the real boring stuff is in a spreadsheet.
Are you Crazy?
My wife thinks so, my nephews think so, my sisters think so…but the voices say I’m not.
First, wow, this is really easy to read. I’m glad you are working on something like this. The more people who can add their suggestions the better.
I would strongly disagree … warrior are far from hopeless.
care to back that up with something? i mean i’m not disagreeing with you but you gotta explain yourself when you strongly disagree. otherwise its like just going “NUH UH!!!”
(edited by emkelly.2371)
Not sure how you are using a greatsword skill with a longsword, let alone applying bleed with Thousand Blades.
- sorry i meant flurry. (Obviously)
Many people suggest viper, or sinister. i suggested wonders for the survivability. if youa re really good at avoiding getting hit then sure, use vipers or sinister.
Named after my Warrior
eneral Use
- Use signet of rage at the start of the match to get to your point quickly.
- At the begging of your fight enter berserk through your signet of fury
- Your bow is your support weapon. Use it when you have a team to support.
- Your sword is your Solo weapon, use it when you are alone.
- I strongly recommend combat camera with this build
- Flaming Flurry can easily give you 5k burning ticks. Mesmers, Necros, Thieves, Elementalists and DHs freaking melt to it. (literally)
- Scorched Earth Is unavoidable burns in a huge field. Also i have noticed that firing through it procs my projectile finishers more often not sure why. This is my weapon of choice when fighting thieves as they have to get into the field to hit me.
- Thousand Blades is crap, never use it unless you absolutist cannot help it. you can get maybe 1.5k bleed ticks off it though.
- Combustive shot is not bad though. use it when you cannot get into berserk mode.
- Everyone knows how to use endure pain, but I like to use it right at the start, then let the auto proc activate.
*Use Dolyak signet at the end of a stun chain. this will give you stability, break stun and give you a much needed chance to dodge. - If for some reason you have tons of condies and need to get away pop healing signet
- Finally, use Signet of rage every time it procs.
Advanced Use
- Burning hurts
- Burning hurts
- Oh god! Burning hurts*

- I use Sigil of Rage, but you can use Sigil of Might, or Sigil of Blood
(edited by emkelly.2371)
Try wonderers amulet+malandru runes+ sigil of smoldering+ sword torch longbow, go berserker discipline defense and endure pain dolyak signet and signet of rage. Its fun and surprisingly tanky I’ll post the build as soon as I get to a computer
Thanks choppy. I don’t even play gunflame but I am sick of people complaining about our one advantage.
