Still wondering if anyone else is having this issue with seasonal/new on kill foods.
Just to clarify, what I was killing with the steamed red dumpling food on was giving me exp, and to double check I tried killing the same mobs with carrot souflee on (which gave its on kill effect properly).
I was using this food as a cheaper alternative to Carrot Souffle but noticed it doesn’t have an icon indicating the period of boosted stats on kill. I figured this was just a visual difference, but after testing it in wvw i saw no increase in power or condi damage on kill. Can anyone else please test this and confirm it’s bugged? Or is there some information about this food i’m missing.
Thanks.
Why in the world. Guild bank is essential for wvw, so drivers can pick up supplies as well as roamers with small guilds accessing stored blueprints etc. I asked and was told all guild bank npcs including registrar have been removed from ebg. If this is incorrect please tell me where I can access it. thanks

holy kittening kitten.
Anet methodically nerfing anything interesting that could possibly happen in wvw. No turn arounds, no counterplay. Ktrain and stagnate.
Old cardboard wings looked bad, new flappity flappity cloth wings look bad, overall wing anatomy is rather poor (totally imaginary "i think this is what wings are like kind of" anyone?
http://orig03.deviantart.net/3410/f/2013/344/3/a/daydream_wings___silver_by_thy_darkest_hour-d5q7i9e.png
Wings based on real anatomy look so much better imo, more complex, strong, and functional. http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs10/f/2006/078/8/b/brrdtut.jpg. The kind of long pointy random feather wings look amateurish and fake to me. )
Even if there’s no hope for the fake costume anatomy design, having certain parts of the wing be more flexible and certain parts be stiffer would look better than this all or nothing laziness.
This thread gives a good suggestion. I dont know how to bump things on reddit but perhaps it could be moved back to front page.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3dr1f6/feedback_about_the_wvw_golem_event/?ref=share&ref_source=link
I was in EB last night, we had 3 of our main WvW guilds on the map. They all refused to use golems and spent most of their time complain about the golem rushes. WvW was not fun at all.
Yesterday morning however, we had more open minded commanders and we ran around in 30-50 golems zergs. Sure there was some mindless ktraining but there were also a lot of really fun mechanized zerg fights.
If you refuse to participate in the event then how can you know whether it is fun or not.
Scenario A: I join the zerg. I press 1 on my golem. I am bored to tears. I slip into existential dread, becoming aware that I am dying every moment, my life is slipping away. I feel nothing. I will remember nothing of this precious time I am wasting. I stare into the void as my awareness grows fuzzy and spirals into a comatose state.
Scenario B: I play alone as I prefer. There are no roamers to fight anywhere. There is no point in flipping camps. Sneaking around ktrain A, I solo knock down tower gate. Ktrain B promptly arrives and I can either go repeat the exact same scenario or exit wvw and lay quietly on the floor.
Scenario C: I and some of my friends hop in golems to 2-4 man take a tower. Hopefully we will find another small group of golems and we can have a fun skirmish of rockem sockem robots. We only find groups of 8-10, 4-5 of them not in golems. Fighting players in a golem is a total waste of time due to condi, immob and blind, so we exit the golems. The fight ends promptly due to ktrain stampede.
Scenario D : I decide to upgrade and defend an objective in hopes it will survive the golem onslau-ahahaha just kidding.
What I find even more boring than a buggy, poorly implemented event is repetition. We’ve been using the same builds, and attack strategies, running around defending and attacking the same objectives against the same guilds using the same tactics they have been using for 3 years now. How can you still find this game mode interesting?
If you thought WvW was serious and was being taken seriously I’m sorry to say that you have been deluding yourself.
What this tells me is people who hold such an opinion have no love for wvw despite its state of neglect and clearly don’t even think of the mode outside of the zerg- which means there’s a big gap between us.
(edited by eyestrain.3056)
As havoc I can’t solo or small group flip anything fast enough to sneak between winning server 1 and second place server 2’s nonstop ktrain human centipede. Supply is meaningless so cutting supply lines does nothing. The few roamers there were before have disappeared.
I can deal with this for a day or two but please end it soon.
Once in Dry Top all my skills stopped working so I relogged. When I did I had been teleported far outside of any map.
hotjoin mode profession icons are all black boxes. Inconvenient to see who is what.
Especially in wvw where my eyes are constantly peeled for movement so I can avoid oncoming zergs/ready for fights. The sparkle going from the event notification on the right hand of the screen, then across to the exp bar and across again to the hero menu icon is a lot of extra distracting jingle jangle every single time I do something. Would love if we could turn this off or if it could be toned down.
in pvp if i try to spectate a build my game crashes.
“In the case of other upgrades that are moving to the new system relatively unchanged, such as the guild banners and the guild vault, we’ll be grandfathering access to those upgrades for any guild that unlocked them in the current system.”
It is on the “rethinking Guilds” post.
You need to read before you jump off the cliff.
So our guild banks will be safe, but will new personal guild banks be an option?
This has been a big question for me too, especially about members who dont have HoT being able to enter their guild’s hall and participate in activities there.
Hey guys
I don’t see “core game included” in the gem store description of HoT anymore . Anyone know more about this?
stiiiiiiill hoping for some dev clerification!
Just want to clarify since I saw this come up a couple of times in this thread and we haven’t actually released our full official patch notes for 6/23 yet….
Ascended Gear will be staying 5% better than Exotic Gear. Gear beyond the tiers we already have are not going to be added and our existing tiers won’t change, they won’t be our main end-game form of progression for your characters/account for all the reasons we’ve covered before – it isn’t what we think Gw2 is about.
Masteries is being added to PvE to help provide this system as our form of progression for PvE moving forward, and the WvW ability system exists for WvW and will be what we use to expand WvW in the future.
To more directly answer some of your point….We are adding a system that lets you change the stats for your ascended gear next Tuesday – which will cost a combination of 10 spirit shards, piece you don’t want anymore, 5 ectos, and an exotic insignia of the stats you want to convert to. Legendary Gear will remain the gear that can freely change stats any time.

CHEERS IN RELIEF
Being locked into one extremely time-intensive and expensive set forever is a huge drag and I really want to know why this change was chosen.
If you don’t have ascended gear by now you’re playing the game wrong, or you don’t care about stats. I’ve got one foot in either camp seeing as my main still isn’t decked out full ascended, ofc, it’s only a matter of choice because I’ve got all I need to do it.
I don’t know what “playing the game wrong” means but I’ve forgone dumping resources into the gold sink that is ascended because 5% stats would not be life or death in my wvw roaming/dueling. 10% on the other hand is going to put me at a disadvantage and punish me and others for wanting to min/max/experiment with stats.
Josh can I please ask why our safe fall is being removed? Necro has such terrible movement abilities compared to every other class. Parachuting has been one of my favorite things about necro since I rolled my first one early last year.
WvWers, particularly roamers/small groups are punished the most harshly with this change, and in my experience the least likely to be interested in grinding pve/ktrain/crafting. Also one of the lowest profit game modes/playstyles so…. where’s the 100g for every armor set going to come from during normal and enjoyable play?
If there’s anything that drives people in my circles crazy it’s having to do tedious grind in pve to get what’s needed for wvw. Every minute they’re not playing in the game mode and style that they actually want to play, they’re associating gw2 with being a chore instead of a fun game.
Ignoring the fact that $100,000 is 2000 players worth of expansion sales and the aformentioned thread had no where near that much participation,
@ Daniel
The thing is that if necros can do it, some other resourceful classes using revive orb or something else will still be able to get at whatever this change was meant to protect. If there’s a will and a lack of invisible walls, there’s a way. If they really want players to “stay out” they should put some kind of event wall that prevents people from entering without a glider, or some other solution. Otherwise people are going to find their way in, necro or no.
And again punishing everyone to the end of one very small corner of the game is unfair.
ps
This makes perfect sense. It may be fun, but it is ultimately cheating the new maps if you pull this off. The air camp will have areas with buffs that prevent fall damage. There are no gliders in wvw. This skill as it was is an unprecedented unfair advantage in wvw. You are suppose to capture an objective that prevents all fall damage. There are areas of the map that you will die if you fall even if you have a 50% reduction.
Unless people are going to have all necro zergs who are unable to catch or escape from enemy combat, no longer able to reliably clear condition spikes/lockdown, and constantly putting conditions on themselves, “unprecedented unfair advantage” seems unlikely.

Considering that it’s digital content that there is no way they’ll run out of, and the price won’t be higher for non-preorder customers when HoT actually hits, the pre-order neither makes sure you get something that might otherwise sell out, nor gives you a discount for ordering in advance.
And as previously mentioned, a true pre-order is a contract saying you will pay the money when the game is released, not handing over 50-100$ up front and being given only a promise, a smile, and some trinkets and then waiting ?? time until the you get what you paid full price for.
This is my request to tell stories/thoughts about spectral walk in this thread on the general forum, in hope that it gets attention and maybe even response. I want to do everything I can to save our parachute
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Please-save-one-of-the-most-fun-skills
Interesting info Oenanthe. Still want to know more information about the future of personal storage banks.
The current specialization changes feedback thread is such a jumble that perhaps splitting it by profession would make a clearer, more comprehensive image of the specific problems that most people are against for each class, as well as the changes are exciting/welcome. I know even the mods have trouble following threads on this forum due to its search issues and their limited time to devote to reading every comment, so perhaps breaking the thread into smaller parts would make the feedback more manageable.
plague signet nerf + consume condition nerf = even with 35k hp I am not going to be able to survive the first push lockdown dogpile of 4 players who will always target me first and I STILL won’t be able to pull off the fight.
And why oh why is spectral walk freefall trick going away? It’s such a source of enjoyment even outside of competitive situations, and in wvw it’s my only way to escape an outnumbered fight.
If it’s so awful that it must be removed, please tell us why!
GvG and GvZ are different things. GvG is a formal competition between two guilds which is best in an environment without interruptions/trolls (the major problem of OS) and has nothing to do with PPT. GvZ is a guild that helps the server with capturing/defending objectives and fighting informally in open field. Moving GvGs to a controlled space will not change GvZ, only the quality of life for GvG. It’s something we’ve needed literally for years.
But again, waiting to see it before I get too happy. After the promises of EotM and Stronghold and what they turned out to be I have concerns.
I’m afraid if people don’t raise more of a fuss it’s going to get permanently removed for no clear reason. Thinking about it being gone makes me so sad.
Even my most blindly loyal and optimistic friends have called this some variation of “a slap in the face” and aren’t buying it. Pushing away your critical audience is one thing. Losing your devoted fans should be cause for serious thought.
To anyone kitten swinging about how they make so much money it’s a drop in the bucket and looking down on anyone who may not be able to afford it, buying expensive toys just to prove you can doesn’t mean you’ve made a wise investment and everyone else should follow suit.
Show your friends this post. No one saw this coming- there was no way OP could have anticipated it and they made a decision that anyone would. This is purely the fault of anet screwing over customers with their misleading advertisement prior to this surprise preorder release.
Don’t be angry at OP- take it up with anet and please try to get a refund/express how this was inconvenient and a blow to confidence in their trustworthiness.
The thing is that if necros can do it, some other resourceful classes using revive orb or something else will still be able to get at whatever this change was meant to protect. “It only took me a year of grinding to be able to play competitively.”
this is a sentence that should have no place in a game that just removed guard stacks because newer players were sad they couldn’t have the buffs instantly.
I’ve resigned myself to trying to get back into mesmer even though I don’t love the playstyle anywhere as much as I have my necros. I’m praying that I will still be able to roam wvw with my necro but I expect to be frustrated and sad.
btw I made a thread in the general discussion in hopes of rallying some attention to why changing this skill is a big downer and doesnt seem neccessary.

Almost all of my guildies were hit with this tonight. It was so bizarre that we just ran with it and eventually started inviting anyone we could find around, including opponents to show them this weird bug. If this happened to five of us totally at random within a few hours, and two of us eventually went back and purposefully recreated the glitch, this can’t be ignored. Not to mention that if certain parts of the glitch behave in a specific way, there’s potential for enormous exploits.
WvW gets neglected so much, but this is just stunning.
(edited by eyestrain.3056)
Snowfall runes + 50% fall dmg reduction = 75% fall damage reduction. I’ve messed around with this when I was bored and it can survive a beastly fall without spectral walk, revive orb or teammate to help you up.
Please also remove snowfall runes and fall dmg traits to prevent players from getting around the HoT maps :p
Also eager to hear what these changes mean for small/personal bank guilds.
Waiting to see if they totally miss the point of it and muck it up like (conquest mode only) pvp before i get too stoked, but wow. After YEARS of total silence and willful “ignorance” of gvg’s appeal anet whips this out with no indication they were going to do so. More than delight I feel resentful of them for not being more open and communicating that our begging wasn’t falling on deaf ears.
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: eyestrain.3056
Out of 20 guild members only 1 is willing to pay that price. It’s not a scientific sample but it’s probably not too unusual either.
For a couple pve maps and elite specializations the price is absurd. If I had that money to spend I could buy another game, not just DLC.
If a 10-20$ HoT ONLY package doesnt come out soon I have a feeling you wont be selling as many copies as you’d like. Hiking the price up in anticipation of that is just shooting yourself in the foot. Better to go high quality, small portion, reasonable price than medium quality, medium portion high price. The latter is how you lose loyalty, but the former is how you gain it.
Being flexible is the lifeblood of a roamer, and the time and resources required for crafting ascended means inflexibility. Making a bigger gap between ascended and exotic means that our choice is to be stuck in one build to take advantage of stat bonus, or settle for weaker stats to experiment. Both are unfortunate options since some of the most fun in this game is being able to try many different things with one character quite easily and not be disadvantaged for it.
HoT maps aren’t even competitive, in what way would this hurt anyone? What would be bad enough about using it in a few exclusive pve maps that the rest of the population who doesnt buy the expansion and especially wvw players still running necro should have a great and fun ability removed?
also ps if you’re really saying that in a video game, something being fun is not enough reason to keep it… what are games even for??
Losing this upsets me more than any other change. I’ve been depressed all morning.
https://youtu.be/VG_399O1epE?t=1m44s
1min 44s demonstrates how necro can survive a fall of any height with none or only very low damage using spectral walk to “reset” the fall length midair. Necro is the only class with this unique ability and using it is not just useful, but FUN. When I have to wait in heart of the mist for a queue the majority of the time i’m climbing up somewhere high, freefalling and landing softly with spectral walk.
The people this punishes most are duelers and roamers in wvw. Previously we could be competitive against ascended players with exotics.
Anet, please please please take out the change to spectral walk “Spectral Walk: This skill can no longer be activated while in mid-air.”.
Necro has such limited mobility in wvw that this is one of the crucial survival options it has. Not just that but it is simply FUN. Even my friends who do not play necro are sad to see this change.
I don’t understand why its happening and its just a terrible kick in the gut. Please reconsider this change!
