I really really doubt this will happen. Just look at the price of shadow dyes. They’ve plummeted, which leads me to believe a lot of people bought the bundle.

I’ve found the most convenient and fun, at least for me, to leveling masteries is doing the dragon stand meta. It takes around an hour and finding an organized map once the timer resets is very easy, just use the lfg.

I did this for around 20 mins today. Never again.

At least now I know why the price of powerful venom sacs have tanked.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the player base actually have legendaries though. Unfortunately, I doubt Anet will make that information public.

Even before the fractal changes, fractal skins were hardly “prestigious”, when you could simply open up the lfg and buy a fractal 50 run for 20g.

Anet is discouraging dungeon selling by allowing the “prestigious” fractal specific drops to be sold on the tp, and I have absolutely no problem with this.

Drops exclusive to raids will probably also be tradeable on the tp, which again, I will have no problems with if it ends up discouraging people from selling raid runs.

Deincentivizing kittenty behaviour directly related to dungeon selling is nothing but good in my book.

Have you even seen the “new” fractal skins? I’m glad the achievement boxes that contain them are tradeable and even more glad some shmuck is willing to pay hundreds of gold for them.

With the tot bag nerf, they might add a mf recipe or something for the two halloween specific items required for nightfury after halloween ends. If not, you can expect both of those items to skyrocket in price once halloween is over.

This is very unlikely to happen. NCSoft isn’t providing any money to help distribute HoT, so don’t expect a physical boxed copy available at retailers anytime soon or ever.

I don’t see the problem with people who undercut by 1 copper. That’s pretty much Wal-Mart’s core business strategy, and it works. They’re even willing to undercut if it means a loss in some cases. In the end, it’s a strategy that benefits the consumer by deflating prices.

You know it’s gonna happen. I have little to no interest in raids, but I’d be willing to pay up to 50g, maybe more, for a weekly chance at raid loot. lol

8 days isn’t going to get you much ap, and to clarify some misinformation posted here, you can earn a total of 550 ap from playing gw1.

If you’re only able to play 2 hours a day, aren’t willing to mindlessly grind tot bags with your free time, and have no interest in paying rl money for one, maybe legendaries aren’t for you.

You should ask yourself if not having incinerator negatively impacts your enjoyment of pvp? If it does, maybe you should quit the game.

If you haven’t been investing in mats for the past few months, at minimum, it’s probably too late if you’re looking to make a guaranteed profit once HoT launches.

I recently finished this achievement. I was at 37/38 and thought the brisbane jump was bugged because it wasn’t putting me back in my armor after I landed in the water. I ended up doing that one like 15-20 times, but it never put me in my armor, and I was still stuck at 37/38, so I just moved on. I went through all of them again, and I apparently missed a jump in ascalon somewhere. I can’t remember the exact zone, but it was a very easy dive in a lower level area.

It hasn’t been mentioned yet, but you should consider getting a good 1440p monitor. With your budget, you shouldn’t have a problem running the game at that resolution, and it makes a huge difference over 1080p monitors imo.

Currently, the only way to get the armor is through the digital deluxe upgrade. Even if you already have the heroic edition of the game, you’ll still get another heroic chest with the armor in it.

The down side. It costs 2000 gems.

I’d say just buy it if it’s something you want. There is always a chance it will come back, but who knows when (or if). Hell, just take a look at those that are still waiting for the bunny ears to come back…

If bunny ears, aviators, etc, etc, every come back, I can almost guarantee they will be available for a limited time only from black lion chests. They did this when they brought back the sab minis and anet probably made a tonne of cash doing so.

I can’t blame them for removing items if it helps them increase rl money gem purchases.

To be fair, most pve only people who started playing the game at launch probably don’t play anymore.

We got like….10-20 lowlevel warriors, rangers etc. After we finished P1 with 4 people we finally got an ele…
I’m not doing AC often enough, so I don’t know if thats normal or we had just bad luck.

In GW1 you can only “ask” to get into a group, the group has to accept your request.
Would like to see the same for GW2:
“glf ele” —> “XY wants to join your group” --> show the same infos visible when already in your group —> accept/don’t accept.
Give us a direct whisper option via lfg tool so players can ask stuff like “is a second warrior ok for you?” without having to join the group.
When you want people to read the lfg: “whisper me: hello world” and accept only people who did so.

This is how it works in game outside of the lfg window. In the open world, if you try to join a group, someone needs to click on the accept button to add someone to their party. I don’t get why the lfg window functions differently.

I would wait at minimum until the end of November. If HoT isn’t a huge success at launch, it will almost certainly go on sale during black friday week.

Braham’s shield and rox’s quiver were both added an hour (maybe more maybe less?) to the gem store after the unicorn finisher.

It also didn’t help that all the PAX HoT annoucements buried the sale thread on reddit.

I was able to get the quiver, but I can see how some people may have missed it.

From what I remember, GWAMM requires 30 maxed out titles out of 43 choices. Only the activity titles could be bought which is like 8. If you want to count the plat needed for the skill hunter titles then that’s another 4 although you get more than enough for them just by VQ’ing and completing missions.

I only bring this up because your statement seemed to devalue the effort people put into getting the title by saying they could have bought most of it.

I did most of my gwamm title the “hard way” back when hom was first introduced, but I also know a lot of people who bought most of their gwamm titles. They mostly bought nm/hm missions, vanquishing, and speedbook(eotn rep) services. If you had a lot of GW1 gold (ectos/armbraces), you could basically buy 19 of the 30 titles required for gwamm. The only “grindy” titles you had to do on your own were the cartography and elona rep titles. After that, the remaining titles were very easy to do.

Even today, you can still find people who will run most of those services for either GW2 or GW1 gold.

There are people who will trade GW2 gold for a GW1 mini. A friend of mine did this for exotic minis- it’s helpful if you’re new to GW1 and don’t have any ectos.

This applies to basically any hom related achievements in GW1. If you have enough GW2 gold, you can basically buy most of your way to gwamm if you really want.

More over, it’s 400-500h when you know the game perfectly well and focus only on it, and with discordway and/or sabway. Average time to get it is nowhere close to this.

I knew nothing about the game but I did have a friend who helped me to get through tough places like DoA etc. GW has very detailed wiki – that’s enough to learn about the game

I’m guessing they also helped bankroll your hom because there is no way someone who has never played GW1 could get gwamm in 4 months with only 400-500 hours of play time.

I am sad about the static fractal shards i liked the randomness of what i was getting. Now it will just be a swamp somewhere between 1-20 a swamp somewhere between 20-50 and then a swamp after 50. And maybe that rotating achievement if the reward is even worth it.

This is exactly what’s going to happen when the new changes take effect. People will figure out what the quickest and easiest fractal is within each tier, and those are going to be the only ones people will want to do. It’s going to be so lame…

“New content” for fractals are going to be new mistlock instabilities. I highly doubt we’re going to get new fractal levels, especially with the changes they outlines in the blog post.

Why limit it to gemstore armor? Why not let all genders of a specific race wear whatever armor that race/gender have access to? Mixing and matching armor can still be restricted to armor weight.

I’d really love it if my human female warrior and guard had access to some of the medium armor skins.

I’m so glad they’re not resetting personal reward levels. Once HoT hits, the lower level fractal scales are going to be a pain with all the newbies.

Salvaging ascended rings purchased with pristine fractal relics seems like it’s going to be the cheapest and quickest way to get the new mats.

As someone who has been hording all the useless ascended rings obtained from fractals, it’s great, but I can see it being potentially painful for people who don’t normally do fractals.

It will take you around 150 days if you run a 50 fractal everyday.

I am SO SO sad this outfit looks like this now. When it was first released, the skirt was perfect, but I held out on buying it after reading about the clipping issues.

If they had released it the way it looks now, I’d probably buy it, but after seeing how nice the skirt portion looked before all the “fixes”, I just can’t get myself to purchase it.

Should have converted the 3k gems to gold and bought a skin off the tp.

Hey guys I did a trick I had heard about fixing HoM bugs. Log in to GW1 and reset your HoM from personal achievements to account or vice versa then log into GW2. It worked for me!

My condolences.

Pugging in this game is a gamble.

If you play solo (ie. don’t have many people on your friends list, aren’t in a guild with like minded people) and choose to pug dungeons, you can’t really complain about the random nature of the people you encounter.

If you pug content in this game, you either accept that pugging is a gamble and continue to pug knowing that, or you can build up your friends list or join a guild with like minded people and stop pugging. It’s pretty simple.
