gift of blades is also sold by miyani (or any mystic forge vendor), so that recipe still may be available after the update, the only limited supply would be the blade shards and the blueprint pieces. You could also just buy the recipe now while you work on 500 crafting. Personally, I found this recipe much cheaper than others, and was an easy ascended backpiece for my alt engi.

very likely, not gonna happen. As it was released as a meta achievement reward, there is little chance of it returning. As an example, current rewards are drops only from mobs or chests on the ground: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ultimate_Citizen%27s_Rescue_Bag

Your best chance is for them to re-release a skin that looks similar, but not exactly the same.

1200 Citizens Change - THANK YOU!

What I really like about it (possibly one reason they changed) is the fact that it makes it more worth it to go for the 1200 saved instead of constantly jumping overflows and doing the 100 citizen mark. At the very least, for those who want heirlooms.

Well to get it at this point you must spend about 50 hours in LA and succeed in rescuing civilians. Needless to say, to get it this early, you’d have to be playing nonstop.

When I first saw these recipes, I thought it’d be like how feasts and trays of food worked, 10 of the original food to make a feast. But for each station to require 5 elonian leather, spiritwood planks, or deldrimor steel ingots to make is outrageous! It’s at least 10 times the price it should be to make it. It’s not even worth getting for a full map of people capping at 150! I could get everyone on the map 1 of them and it’d still be cheaper than the station. Why anet why???

  • Dolyak Escort: Evon sells Maintenance Oil Station Recipe in Vigil Keep
  • Ogre Escort: Urmaug sells Sharpening Stone Station Recipe at Lornar’s Pass Camp
  • Lighthouse Escort: Ellyna Graidy sells Tuning Crystal Station Recipe at Bloodtide Coast Camp
  • Lawson Escort: Lawson sells Potions of Slaying Scarlet’s Armies at Gendarran Fields Camp
  • Moa Escort: Tigg sells Swift Moa Feathers (Utility move spd buff) at Lornar’s Pass Camp
  • Children Escort: Torina Panney gives a drawing (25 luck) at Gendarran Fields Camp

Hitting up a rubble pile again (next cycle/spawn/event/whatever you call it) doesn’t reward an heirloom again, correct?

No it doesn’t.

It may reward one once/day though so you would get 30/day if you collected them each day which means 420 if you did them every day which isn’t enough to get both items.

You do get some extras from the bags I think but it is a very small number. I ended the day with 39, so 30 from the rubble and 9 from wherever else they drop, but it took 5 hours for those 9. It may be possible therefore, if you did this event a lot that you’d get 500 tokens and both items.

It also may not, but that’ll be proven in a days time.

From patch notes:

*Stopping the miasma deployment by defeating the enemy troops will allow players to rescue five nearby survivors.
-As a further bonus, if all three miasma deployments are simultaneously prevented within ten minutes, an additional 35 citizens will be saved.
*Some groups in Lion’s Arch require an armed escort in order to successfully escape. Assist them by clearing their escape route and increase the rescue tally by five.
*As the miasma nears lethal levels, champions will attack Fort Marriner and the Lion’s Shadow Inn. Elite enemies will land at the Grand Piazza. Defeating each boss event will save 10 additional citizens.

As it is a consumable, not a technical clothing item, dulfy would have a hard time finding posts of it, outside of just getting it herself.

Due to its somewhat outrageous price (in terms of time) to get 250 heirlooms, (see my other post addressing this) I believe it to be permanent.

I think it just put a halo or devil horns on your character, as shown

Found Heirlooms - Is there enough time?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Posted by: fictitiousacct.1782

fictitiousacct.1782

So after some thinking, I was wondering how much time do we have to get both Selfless Potions and Thoughtless Potions. Both require 250 Found Heirlooms, which seem to be found through both rubble piles (once per account) and for each successful tier of citizens rescued (Tiers are set at 100, 300, 600, 1000, and 1500 citizens rescued*).

However, I am worried that I won’t have as much time to actually get 250 of these heirlooms, as most overflows I get into save usually enough for me to get 2 heirlooms. Supposing the content and merchant are up only for 2 weeks, if I get ~40 from rubble and need 460 more for both potions, I’d need to enter 230 times into the LA instance on average. Even if I went for only 1 potion, I’d need to enter 105 times into the instance to get it. If the content was up for 2 weeks, that would mean I’d enter the instance 8 times a day for one potion or 17 times a day for both potions. Obviously, the total amount of hours spent on this game shouldn’t average 8 hours a day, let alone 17 hours a day.

Anet, if this content is for only 2 weeks, please adjust the prices of your event items. All of these are account bound things, and I’d hate to think you really expect us to grind our hearts out to get items like this. I really would like the halo and devil horns to be both obtainable on my character, but the amount of time needed to get this for an average player really sucks.

P.S. This assumes rubble does not reset once a day per account. Should that be possible, then it is much more possible to get them.

*This was taken directly from the release notes, but I do believe the tiers are incorrect. I’ve gotten rewards at 100 and 500 so far.

So what happened to that wurm weekly chest?

in The Origins of Madness

Posted by: fictitiousacct.1782

fictitiousacct.1782

All things data mined are not necessarily the changes being implemented. That being said, anet may be working on including weekly rewards, but until they explicitly confirm the information treat it as speculation or something that may take much longer to implement than what players want. Since it has been data mined, it shows us that they are at the very least considering it. I suggest instead of attacking anet saying “why isn’t it implemented yet,” you may want to try saying, “this would be a great thing to implement, should we expect this to come in a later patch, if so when?”

I would have to agree with OP, while it was an exploit in many ways to lure wurm outside of the circle, this solution ought to be more properly thought out. For a very short timer, it seems horribly unnecessary to make the wurm go invulnerable at all. Please change this.

Targeting the Great Jungle Wurm

in The Origins of Madness

Posted by: fictitiousacct.1782

fictitiousacct.1782

Yeah the target system annoys me sometimes because it goes into the direction i’m facing, and higher targets are first. The problem with the wurm is the position of the target generally being far from the direct direction i’m facing and not as high a priority as the sheer amount of champion husks that generally get in the way of it. They could possibly expand the zoom of the camera further out, like for the molten boss and jade maw in fractals, but I’m not sure whether the mobs that spawn will get in the way still. (but I think the champ husks would still get in the way)

Also for clarification’s sake, the champions you face are based on the chain you are trying to destroy. Each chain’s champions will be on all 5 platforms and the lane entering must destroy all 5 of them (and the power source) to sever the chain. It is NOT that the lane itself will face 5 different champions, they WILL all be facing the same 5 champions, depending on which chain they are attempting to sever.

I would like to add that Golem seige hp is equal to your personal hp. So if your hp is low, use the 5 skill to jump out, pop a heal and re-enter it. Alternatively, anyone else can enter it with full hp and it’ll prevent the golem from being destroyed.

[PvX][Mesmer] Phantasmal Warden bug

I wouldn’t call it a bug per se, as it does what the developers intended when implementing the change, but it definitely can be a pain when you use wardens to place in strategic places. I for one would like the first attack to at least go off once before it dies. Maybe they could implement it so the first attack goes off immediately and the subsequent ones move next to enemies before attacking.

I won’t ask for a “how much influence every member produces” option. I don’t think that could be positive in any way. However, inactivity detection is a must.

We should have two types: Last represented, and last connected. Last represented could require a minimum of time, like 30min, to make sure it wasn’t a flash represent that doesn’t show any kind of activity.

It’s a pain to clean inactives to make space. This is probably the most important point of the list.

This should be higher priority than it is. While there is a way to figure out when guild members have last gotten an achievement, I’d like a much easier method than that which currently exists.

In addition, I mentioned this in a post before but we need more things to spend guild merits on! (for those who don’t realize, merits are not commendations)

Guild merits: speed upgrades

in Suggestions

Posted by: fictitiousacct.1782

fictitiousacct.1782

The guild I’m in and an officer in has maxed guild merits and finding no really productive way to use our max 250 merits. While we currently can speed up the queue using influence, I’d find it much more useful to spend our merits on speeding items using merits as well. Suppose, 25 or so merits to move up an item in the queue 33% or 25%.

The main problem I see is the lack of use of merits in buying items from the guild upgrades after all missions are unlocked. I’d like merits to actually be worth something besides 20 merits = reduced wp/repair fees. The queue for those are way too long for a waste of influence and merits.

Other suggestions I’ve seen to solve this problem are to be able to convert merits into influence. I believe this can also solve the problem of excess/max guild merits, while promoting people to run guild missions for merits, instead of personal commendations (which my guild does).

Hybrid Boss Evolving?

Is it just me, or are the hybrid boss’ attacks varying slightly as the antitoxin injector bar increases?

I definitely ran it when the bar was empty and compared to now it has more spawns and slightly different mechanics. This may be attributed to the description of the boss, “Rapidly Evolves,” and should this be the case, there may be a point where we’d need a full party or experienced people to start taking him down faster.

I do like the implementation of replaying the story by talking to the npc, and hope to see more living story done this way, maybe even the in game story too would be nice for some replay modes.
The npcs being able to rally is a nice addition as well. I personally enjoy the difficulty by them being able to rally.
The biggest problem I have with this update was the achievements being very grindy and boring to spam. I like how it involves more maps in the living story, and that some events we overlook while leveling have some reason to doing them. In doing so, we have found some of the problems within those events too. I don’t see why wvw needed the offshoot events though. It really meshes with some of the other achievements currently within the wvw season achievements and wvw gameplay itself as well.

So as I opened my crafting window, I noticed the recipes were account bound, soulbound on use. And the only thing I could think was, “Why!?”

@@ celestial crafts take 5 charged quartz which takes 25 quartz each to charge once a day… with all this time and energy, we can’t even buy/sell pieces, with quartz possibly being limited to get once the bazaar is over.

I can’t believe it’s all account bound for all the effort it takes to actually make. Not only that, it has the crafted armor set! Not even a special distinguishing mark to show off to other players…

I don’t know why you’d expect anet to make monthly (in this case, 2 weeks only) events to be completely soloable. GW2 tries to form some sense of community with its primary focus on guilds, so i’d expect them to encourage group events…
