That was a pretty eh d/d ele.
His attunement swapping was off, he didn’t have much of an idea how to land the specs dmg (he consistently casts firegrab while out of range or into evades… and couldn’t reliably line up, nonetheless ever setup, burning speed)
Anyways, in realistic fights though, since you are running a pure offpoint bunker, you have to stay on an objective, making a fight against a d/d ele tougher.

Running that spec though… a bunker beastmaster ranger shouldn’t really lose ANY 1v1 in a timely manner. It’s debatably one of the best 1v1 specs out there, utter trash as fights get larger or anyone needs anything from you short of spastic pet dmg, but can survive pretty well.

I see no way around it or ppl will just pull out the cable when they are about to loose….

You leave so many matches, you start getting penalties.
A random DC or one/two match ragequits in a few weeks time won’t upset a game’s life at all.

Snowballing like a moba probably won’t be a good thing.
MMOs don’t have to try to copy the MOBA mechanics because more people play them at the moment.

A way to kind of incorporate a bit of change as the game goes on though could be done by making the gates weaker as time goes on, but also lord worth slowly fewer points too. It’d stop the endgame from being nothing but a ‘who succeeds/kittenblocks lord’ like it is now, it’d make early game lord rushing an option, as well as mid/end.

The main thing though, is that a match’s setup should be allot different in terms of BO placement, getting rid of the 3 offset BOs of conquest Anet loves so much would bring a massive change to the game. Like making them linear, It’d make a more ‘tug of war with backcapping’. That would make pug play so much better as it brings an easily structured match, there isn’t zerging so much as evenly sized group on group clashes with small skirmishes on the side.

Well only speaking for my Team, we are comming back with CA`s and i am sure that a lot of the players on the List will do the same. Few werent even gone like u marked us on the List, we are not gone we were just waiting for CA`s and i know for a fact that few others did the same. If only 1 Player of the Team actualy need acces to the CA`s and can invite others with no acces we can give away 3 CA`s accesses and i think other Teams will do the same, so a lot more Teams can test the CAs than mentiond on the List.

But I wouldn’t say to get your hopes up for GW2 yet.
Nothing Anet has done from release has been timely and, I’d hate to say but, of quality…
Because of that… even if custom arenas are functioning well soon and made wonderfully, they still leave the massive problems of ‘only conquest’, bad tourny matchmaking and so far pretty subpar and slow balancing.

It’s going to be a longer waiting game for GW2 to have a chance at coming back to life, at least in all likelihood.

I charge a small fee (~30g/hour) for pvp lessons. PvE players have plenty of gold and are willing to spend it on stuff like this.

That’s actually a really good idea.
Most of it is telling the guy one of the 5~ easy overpowered specs… the rest is just running a support/rez setup and WAM he thinks you’re he’s a decent PvP’er.

Tournaments are now one team verse one team instead of the whole 8 team deal.
The population is smaller though so there can be delays or times when your fighting the same groups over and over, especially outside of prime time.

Short of the new kittenty leaderboard no one cares about… nothing else has really changed.
Custom arenas are starting their beta on the 30th, but so far seem to be an utter disapointment by what has been released about them…
(replacing hotjoins, can blacklist/whitelist players, tweak respawn timers, make it private, allow spectating, cost real life money to set up and keep up)

For those of you whining that still don’t get the point of having to pay or think ANet is getting greedy, the answer is this: These Customs servers are ones that ANet owns and they don’t have an infinite source of servers either, so it’s a limited resource. The payment and time token system is so the private or custom arenas: A. Don’t just get stuck to a person who quit or isn’t active for forever more and B. So to help limit the people who have one so they don’t have to, let’s say, give out a couple thousand(probably more) out to every player or guild that decides to get one. In the second case, they’ll run out of servers and have to tell everyone either that they’re going to have to redo the system so they take all the custom arena servers away or they have to tell everyone it was first come first serve and just leave all the slow or new players out.
So yeah, there is a good reason for it.

There are literally hundreds of open and empty SPvP servers.
I don’t think Anet is going to have a supply problem any time soon…

And no one would make free custom arena’s bind to a persons account and be permanently up for all of time (even when empty), that would be silly.

There isn’t even a ‘report hacking/gliching’ feature… in a game where you can lol-glich-teleport around all day in TPvP if you really want to.

Gamers should take a step back and see what is truly going on, Anet is kinda smart in what there are doing…they are letting players have the ability to make there game an E sport.

Think about it, they will add spectator mode and custom arenas, not only will hardcore PvPers ( what is left from it ) show us how to truly play a class, they can go also to twitch tv and cast it while Anet developpers are looking from a sideline and hopefully truly see what needs a nerf and what not…..

I have faith it will eventually get into and E sport game but dont expect it for the next months to come…its the first big step towards it dow

Im my opinion what they truly need is a 2v2 3v3 arena game and I HOPE they learn from the spectator mode as they will look at other players how they play. I want Anet developpers themselves to create a map with no gimics at all, just plain old arena maybe with a respawn for a couple of times when you are dead and then full out deathmatch

Kind of smart….
Releasing a game, then 8 months to 1 year later when the population is pretty much dead finally releasing a means to make money off of the playerbase…

I guess I just don’t understand genius

Custom arenas are a decent idea, they hopefully will lead to somewhat well ‘balanced by banning’ servers and a few gimmick tournaments. At best they might bring a mediocre bump in population, the game still needs some big fixes before it really can even consider anything more.

Pets have their own malice (condition dmg bonus) so each stack the pet applies will tick for its base 42~ dmg regardless of any other condition applied by anyone to the target.

In short, we could say that the whole “esport” thing was just to bring in some extra box sales.

I think they had every intention of making it an esport from the getgo but ran out of funding halfway threw… at that point, yeah it was better to just keep up the charade that it could become an Esport for box sales while just half ast’ing patches in its general direction.

I think the number of bad build options to be fixed should take priority over the working or the Op builds. There are certainly some OP aspects about them like the healing on the ele, but i think the warrior, thief and necro should be brought up to their level rather than the other way around.

I’d prefer the other way around, so many broad counters to not really be a thing.
I like more finesse in combat than just…
‘whatever important stuff you threw at me I counter with mistform/elixer U/distortion/teleport without any repercussions short of a CD’
‘I will remove whatever conditions you are throwing at me threw ’some easy action’’
‘I will dodge twice every ten seconds, so pray you have more important attacks than that’

I guess in terms of how, a start would be for CC to be shorter in duration (more interupt based) and conditions to be not such a general category. CC breaks and stability shouldn’t be ‘have or die’ for next to everyone in a game where you have to sacrifice some of your spec for them. Conditions such as vulnerability/weakness/cripple shouldn’t be eaten up in the general mass cleansing classes take, letting melee be able to more reliably stay in range with cripples and people could actually notably mitigate dmg/endurance-regen with weakness… that’d be cool.

Vigor to not be so dominant would be nice too…

Oh and asuras should die as a species.
The game is entirely animation based yet they have the worst set of ‘tells’ out there.
It is stupid.

I don’t see how CA is gonna keep people from using the 5v5 hotjoins for dueling because that’s free, even though it slightly more inconvenient than paying for a CA.

Yeah that’s why I said avid, the majority won’t pay, but I’m sure someone will see worthwhile convenience in a custom server tagged as ‘dueling’. It would let them avoid the current deal of jumping threw SPvP servers for 10~ mins to find a good group of people of sguys interested in dueling.

Cleansing should have been more condition specific.
For sure a much bigger divide between bleed/burn/imob and vulnerability/weakness/cripple/poison/chill.
[if they made chill movement impairing worse and poison not last so long from certain attacks or weaker but stack in intensity/healing mitigation]

That’d give melee more life as their cripples aren’t eaten up like nothing. That’d make vulnerability stacking better in PvP since it won’t disapear at the swap of an attunement, that’d make weakness and chill decently reliable conditions for drawn out fights.

Cleansing should have been mainly built into traitline minor traits or innate to classes.
Forcing every spec to sacrifice for cleansing and means to deal with CC as a necessity is just limiting in this system GW2 threw our way. Major traits and utilities should be an extra shot at some cleansing, not the barebone necessary.

Custom servers can bring people back, if they have allot of hidden features they didn’t mention yet. Few if anyone cares about scrimmaging in a game with dead competitive PvP, no one cares about only adjusting respawn timers, turning the game into deathmatch by turning on/off BOs will just make worse PvP than conquest.

GW2 devs may not not care about PvP, but they have shown themselves so far to be pretty incapable of timely, even just somewhat, well done fixes.
That drives off a population.

If not, then they can always buy their population. Put up a tournament with a big reward and the players will come streaming (hehe) in.

Every Esport team has abandoned the game.
The state of the game streams only net about 2k views on youtube over their lifetime.

The game’s fallowing isn’t all that large atm :/
If not too many people come back because of custom arenas… the game’s instance PvP is dead until further notice.

April 30th….. Esports in GW2 begins…. or not begins depending on the prices of servers.

I still vote for 200 gems to buy a server and 100 gems to maintain it.

Maybe an avid dueler would consider renting one, but pretty much no one else would based off what Anet said they will be. No one wants to spend real life money for the sake of adjusting respawn timers or banning certain people or scrimmaging in a game with no competitive PvP…

They need to seriously deliver with the custom arena features or the things will be useless.

Now that custom arenas and spectator mode are going to be released, it seems that PvP is finally moving forward. However, it feels like the future of PvP relies a lot on which features that Anet will provide and work on in this year.

They need money to make good sized steps forward.
They have to have a decently sized PvP population to be able to make money from them.
They have to have a reason for people to play PvP to have a decent sized PvP population…

Anet is in quite a pickle.
The PvP population is trash atm and they have literally no income and never did since they didn’t even sell skins when allot of people played the game.
It will be a slow kitten crawl forward for them at best, full of minor half kitten tweaks, bad que’ing and conquest…

Valkyriez, without bashing Arena Net, can you speculate as to why the downed state won’t, or likely will not receive any substantial changes?

Look at all the balancing changes they have done over 8 months.

To ‘balance’ out the loss of downed state in their eyes would take FAR more, like, in the best case scenario, a year of dedicated testing/changing on the lack of downed state.

Anet’s fixing of the game is far too slow to even attempt a massive change in PvP like removing downed state…
They are having hell just making the flaming classes they have at the moment ALL BE VIABLE…
They are having hell just getting a working que system in place…

Everyone had high expectations for these guys, after a few months the reasonable and non-desperate realized that they, in all likelihood, can’t make a good game out of this mess.

The dodges aren’t randomly timed….I know my Endo regen rate quite well and use dodges to bridge to HoT and provide Protection boon to mitigate, I gain 50% Endo on weapon swap with Energy Runes…often after 2 dodges I swap weapon and get a Third Dodge…thats ~4 seconds of unanswered regen and helps sustain me.

If any melee worth his salt will drop me then BG/SoR are devoid of them as the only thing I lose to is a Mesmer (Confusion) or being out manned.

Does Gareth = DAoC Player?

Dodge rolls causing unanswered dmg isn’t really in question…
Anyways… I mean if you feel that they are being used well, go knock yourself out, just keep in mind dodging specific abilities and using it as a means to kite melee are some of the biggest percs of dodge rolling.

I’ve never played DAoC :/

A well played feline on a dps ranger tends to better than dual canines.
Getting rid of the cat is a pretty big loss in dps especially if you have the trait points to grab the 30% more pet dmg on crit along with 15~ points in beastmastery.

Timing your heal skill, pet swaps, and stealth well will do wonders at keeping the bugger alive. As fights get larger than one or two on twos though, or your against a grenading engi… I just wouldn’t count on any pet living long in melee.

…Jaguar/Hyena would be a good middle ground….

You might try a Devourer too, and turn it into a bit of a chasing game to discourage them from hitting the pet.

There is no reason for a hyena over wolf short of an intense dislike for time-able fears or a personal conviction that the double will make your main pet much more unkillable. They tend to be subpar and are rarely used to show for it.

Oh and I haven’t seen a devourer in instanced PvP since beta.

Even if the thief was using basilisk venom for the 1.5second stone-stun (lol@wasting elite on a skirmish off-node), then he still had the other 5 seconds to cast -anything-

The attacks that did the 30~k dmg could have been done over 2~ seconds with haste.
Yes, that isn’t what happened, I had wrongly assumed OP wouldn’t have stood there for 5+ seconds eating auto attacks and was actually kittening about one of the legitimate joy-killing thief specs roaming SPvP.

Man that is even worse, you mean to tell me i came across the same dudes in a cross server Q?, then spvp on this game is on life support…

Its the reason I was REALLY hoping for a shift in the game, where the game is at and the pace it is going doesn’t bode well in the slightest, players getting their hands in on the tweaks seems like the best bet for GW2.

GW2 has got potential, soooo much potential, the devs just never found out how to use it… the game’s alpha testing went pretty badly, it still needs pretty large pug map/que tweaking and weapon/trait/utility renovations to have the possibility to be an at all popular game… they should have done what dota is doing… taking their sweet time working out the kinks while they beta test the kitten out of everything.

Because of that… those necessary changes, instead of being delayed… they are literally never going to happen, PvP has had no monetary income for the guys since they didn’t even sell cosmetics when they had a decent population…

I think its a part of the design Guards are the heavy bunker and warrs are the heavy dps class and as all dps classes you have to be fast on your feet if you want to live.

About ranged longbow hits very hard just go to a point and hit f1 with full rage and watch everyone melt.

You can have some of the best dodge rolling on a warrior, just so you know.
The 15 point ‘gain endurance on burst skill’ gives a full dodge roll. You can weapon swap dodge roll every 5s and to boot the signet that fully cleanses gives a bonus 50% endurance regen as its passive.

The only part I see really lacking is a bit of imob hate or something like making endure pain at 50% as a 5/10 point defense trait along with better mobility on the one handers other than sword, along with probably a lil more when it comes to specific hard hitting attacks on the one handers especially sword…

Building a game with mod support is something you have to at least consider at the beginning of development (at the very first day), and build it around this. Even if you later don’t use it. Adding modsupport to a game, which was never developed around this in the first place, is a task which is literally rewriting the game from the absolute core of the game.

So adding even such simple things as written above would probably be an equivalent or even more work than starting to develop GW3 with Modsupport.

Yeah, that makes allot of sense, thnks for the insight, I didn’t consider the server calculations for dmg and whatnot, that kinda does throw a wrench in the deal, along with of course the probability that the game isn’t even made at all compatible.

aanyways, I guess there is no easy fix for GW2 then, all that’s left I guess is to hope they were saving everything for custom arenas… best of luck to them.

In League of Legends new players started at 1200 rating in the first two seasons

They have a dozen ‘test’ games it runs you threw with other new to 30 players to get a rough take on your ELO. That along with the required 30 levels before ELO even kicks in tends to create pretty good matchmaking.
Compared to what GW2 does, LoL has the god-send of matchmaking.

I mean, short of the smurfing problem, but that’s just a problem for FTP games.

We did read it right, we also saw that flame sigil (which has a 5 second cd btw) procced TWICE in that fight. That in and of itself means it was AT LEAST 5 seconds, and anyone incapable of doing SOMETHING to save themselves in that amount of time just needs a bit more practice.

Aah, fair enough, misleading main screen deathlog, I figured if the auto attack dmg didn’t break the sigil proc there couldn’t have been more than a scrape or 2 from it.
Yeah, the half dozen auto attacks and no response is kinda sad.

The person is talking about casual play though, an instant probably stunned out death spike, that if avoided because the thief is bad, the thief can just waltz away from with stealth… doesn’t tend to be all that enjoyable.

How do you grant access to the GW2 database. Direct to certain tables, or over a really restricted API. Something inbetween?
How does the server get your new maps? And upload site? How safe does this be, since you are dealing with random strangers uploading stuff to your server.
How would this kit look anyway? Just allowing certain script languages, which limit the amount of possible mods? Allowing self-made builds of the game? How does the server then recognize which build is used, and how does this interact with the game itself, like PvE.
This is just a really few numbers of near, if not completely unresolvable issues. While I would like to see something like this happening, I am 100% sure that this will never happen. Like never ever.

Its only instanced PvP.
You don’t edit the actual games database, the construction kit on your computer has a list of all the abilities/traits and whatnot with certain editable values. I think of it like a chart of abilities saying something like…
-Utility 1
name ‘this’
does ‘Y’ dmg in ‘YY’ aoe
‘effect’ for ‘X’ duration, in ‘XX’ aoe over ‘XXX’ distance, exc.
‘effect’ ….
exc.
Where you can edit the ‘instances’, if its a number by an in bound number, if its an effect, by calling out one of the already in game effects (stun/bleed/poison/teleport/cleanse condition)
This part does need more thinking threw, but as a rough idea, when people click on a server, it shows a description and a link to a more detailed changelog. If you actually enter the instance it creates a quick patch ensuring everyone is using the same values for abilities and you can respec during the patching (if that’s possible) and any time in spawn.
I have never coded a game, but I don’t really see all that much impossibility/virus-machine in that.

When it comes to custom maps, I don’t know enough about making a game to really comment on whether it is possible or not. Tragically that has to be left to more knowledgeable minds :/

But yeah, the only reason I kind of thow this out there is because the game has a few crippling issues that need to be resolved in a somewhat timely manner for a healthy game to really come out of this thing.

Of course for PvE everything is different. PvE is crap and boring and nobody likes the grind but if you can get better items… then suddenly a lot of players like the grind because they can show to others: “Look at me, I have super rare item X, I’m pro!(meaning I played 1000 hours which everyone can do without being pro lol)”.

I think ‘special’ is the word you are looking for.

it’s an mmo not a fps, there is supposed to be progression and currently spvp lacks it.

I think you missed out on all the beta/prerelease talk then…
That was one of the games main selling points when it came to PvP, only cosmetic progression, and people generally liked the idea of it.

That’s the problem with running a power ranger. You have to go offensive enough to not let them get the chance or defensive enough that it only drags on the fight.

Ugh, I play too many tournies…

I can’t stop cringing at your randomly timed dodge rolls… a few you seemed to use well enough to help kite, I mean before you turned around right after it and walked back into the thief’s melee range… Then when you stood on top of your own spirit of nature so the thieves… thieves that didn’t seem good enough to go out of their way to kill it…. unintentionally did while auto attacking you… that hurt. Its such a good elite but that’s pretty much the only mistake you can make with it short of timing the rez wrong or placing it slightly too far away from an ally so the rez wiffs.

Running muddy terrain could be kinda cool for you though, with the QZ nerf and your desperate need for help kiting in fights like that (any melee worth his salt will just eat your toon up atm) it could pull its weight.

New players start around the mean of the matchmaking rating. So, if you’re an average player, you will often encouter players that are new to system and their performance isn’t well evaluated. Just look at the second screenshot in this thread! That’s why ELO works well at both ends of skill, but fails in between.

Bad ELO does that.
No developer in their right mind would wiki “ELO equation” then just throw it and its formula exactly in their game.

LoL found a pretty good way to enact it.

Why the kitten do I have to spend a minute rebinding keys whenever I swap from my ele to my ranger… and god forbid, if I ever want to play my warrior again I’ll have even more trouble with it…

From what I’ve seen the matchmaking does seem to favor throwing premade against premade, but the thing is… there is a very low population of premades the majority of the time.

I’ve sat in que for 20~ minutes on a sunday night in a leaderboard rank 200-600 premade WITHOUT SEPARATE QUES.
Too many issues in this flaming game for there to be an easy fix.

The point of moving traps is so they’re in a tree that would actually benefit them stat wise as well i.e. condition damage.

If that’s your only problem, then why not suggest moving condition dmg to skirmishing?
Drop the crit dmg and replace it with condition, or even just condition duration.

I mean, the thing is, that really isn’t even a problem, at least objectively.
A spec doesn’t need to get literally every buff that could benifit it from the same traitline, the whole point of build diversity is to avoid that.

In this case every ranger goes 30 in wilderness survival because the cleansing is pretty much necessary, but that’s a bit of a different problem.

  • There are builds that don’t put 30 points in WS that make use of traps
  • Crit chance can be beneficial to both power and condition builds (more so if they’d fix our bleed/might on-crit traits)

Right now crit is useless to condition rangers.
Sharpened edges is a minor trait in major’s clothing, sigil of earth has a 2s internal CD and it isn’t worthwhile to make use of the crit for the sake of more physical dmg in a ranger condition setup.
Useless :/

From what I’ve seen, all competitive trap ranger builds go 30 in wilderness survival for empathetic bond.
Throwing away 2-3 utility slots on traps forces you to go to the heal skill/elite skill/traits for condition removal and easily the best most accessible one is from traits.

Matchmaking is done by rating, not rank. It can happen that the low level guys got matched up against other low levels and won all of them by luck, while the high-ranked ones had a bad streak and lost almost every single battle in that day.

Yeup, I was on top of my game but dropped from rank 45 to 70~ percentile from pugging for a few hours.
kitten ranking system.
I really don’t like fighting for the most part with/against people of allot lower skill in this conquest/GW2 setup.
It just ends up annoying me.

Knowing this, my only concerns is – will there be a free version of custom arenas, or will it require someone using gems to set one up?

This is, of course, based on seeing the custom arena tokens leaked earlier this year. It would be a shame to lose this from the base features of the game (realize its way to early to be actually concerned – mostly just curious).

I’m very interested in hearing more about this as well. Having custom arenas being gem-only concerns me quite a bit.

Just pray you can buy in with a currency you get for PvP’ing.

If the PvP is enjoyable, that’s enough for me.
I played warhammer online for a good deal of time without a thought of gear.
Didn’t buy the expansion for ages and I never got past rank 76~ so I was consistently undergeared, but I played one of the best zealots on server when I was on allot oh and a pretty solid rank 55~ choppa on the side.

Good cosmetics are always nice though, keeps me entertained during the down time, and feeling pride at how my toon looks is always a nice bonus.

The 30 point opening strike trait should refresh opening strike after 5~ crits or after a certain timeframe.
Not the stupid ‘after you killed a guy so have typically won the fight’.

Making it relate to what type of pet though is an amazing idea.

Moving traps and empathetic bond won’t really fix any problems short of an aesthetic one.

I think its high time they aborted this failed experiment and moved back to something closer to GW1.

Resorting to what has worked is always a nifty fallback, but GW2 is vastly different from GW1, they would have to overhaul so much to make them even comparable… With just tweaking and working with the current game, at the devs current pace, the PvP will need about a year worth of fixes to be viewed as decent, IN THE BEST CASE SCENARIO, like if every patch they do is well made and extremely on point.

They have literally no notable income from PvP to change that situation with.
The devs have more than they can handle.

It’s an utterly terrible place to be in for an MMO.
Pretty much the worst in all honesty.

The only way I see the game not failing is for Anet to just release a GW2 construction kit that lets people tweak balance all they want and create maps. Charge for it and possibly a few cents a day to set up a custom server, a charge that can be waved by so many people ‘liking’ the instance (it would stop everyone from trying to ‘be the hero that save GW2 by redoing it alone from scratch’ and make the majority of the player base just people playing/criticizing/suggesting tweaks) The devs can then simply sit back for a few months, relax and regroup while, of course, making cool looking gear… it’d give them something to sell somewhat cheaply to the PvP crowd beside of course a number of dyes they lock in PvP and charge a lil money for.

Income and progress.
They can then afford a real dev team and have a the foundation for a real PvP game at their feet.

They have allot of very high powered aoe and even with full dps traits you can take a beating. off hand axe 15×2300 gs 8×3800 long bow F1 is freaking crazy dps and huge radius don’t have the numbers though. They also have a ton of cc I just don’t see the weakness I think they just need to be played like a mesmer where you have an ok chance to win one on one but in a group over a node its game over.

Ugh, you can say that “hey look these abilities do good aoe dmg” and I can say who does it better and how and you can say “hey but this CC too” and I can say who does it better and how, but it won’t get anywhere because its just a massive he said she said…

Just know…
No top premade runs a warrior.
No one in the top 50 of the leaderboard plays a warrior.
No one i have ever premaded with thinks warriors are in a good place.

The vast majority of the community feels this way.
You should reconsider your opinion and try out some of the top tier specs if you seriously feel warriors are comparable to all the other classes because I’m sure anyone who has ever played a warrior competitively and is reading this would want to slap you for the faint faint chance that a dev will read this, take you seriously, and put off a potential buff.

I am a lil mad bro it bothers me that you guys are blaming your class when I face epic wars all the time.

Skill can take you decently far in this game.
But only so far.

Warriors are just subpar in every way when it comes to TPvP.
If you ever get into higher up premades they will not cut it.
If you ever want more bang for your skill, they don’t cut it.

By no means are they unplayable, compared to most of the specs floating around in pug PvP they can be fine, but that, again, is just casual pugging.

A warrior bleed trait is 33% on crit a rangers is 66% on crit. Ranger can get bleed for a pets regular attack as well as bleed on feline and other animals if traited. You can’t just compare the weapons on stuff like this you also have to consider what the rangers pet is doing.

You also can’t throw out next to useless traits as examples of compensation.
Anyone who takes sharpened edges in instanced PvP is a fool.
Its a 66% chance at a 1 second bleed meaning literally no amount of bonus condition duration in TPvP will ever make it longer. At best on a heavy crit/condi spec it could end up being a 5% dmg buff. On those specs vigor or your pet critting for 30% more means much more.

Think about how long it took them to put a Stun Break on Quickening Zephyr.
Perhaps that is exactly how Anet thinks balance works.

If you look at what they’ve done over the past 8 months, how every fix is half ast and delayed as kitten…

I have literally no faith in Anets abilities to balance the game or improve it in any notable way.
My only hope for GW2 is the release of a construction kit so people can pay a bit of money to tweak the games balance and create custom maps for people to play.
Realistically that’s the only hope for the game, its never going to have popular or even somewhat well made PvP short of that.

Then the devs can focus on making cool looking skins and charging for them, while also making a bit of money on the construction kit letting them actually afford enough staff to make a real PvP team, one that can build off all of the custom changes and trials players are doing to make a good game…
It’s only hope though, since Anet completely screwed the pooch when it comes to PvP. They cut out any way for PvP to make them money and made nothing in PvP attractive to the masses. Kind of a sinkhole of failure right there.

Anyways its just a rambling dream though.
Odds greatly lean towards nothing happening to crossfire.

it wouldnt be 45 min for solo/duo queue, teams maybe, but that’s ANets fault since it’s not an esport.

Its Anet’s fault that the game sucks.
It doesn’t have to be an Esport to have a good number of competitive PvP’ers.

Balance isn’t about every class having the exact same thing as every other class.
If you want a bleed from anywhere weapon play an engi or ask for warrior condition dmg to finally be viable.
