Decent framework for improving overall challenge is FoTM. But instead of increasing hp and damage, they should improve mobs and bosses. And obviously rewards…
But that requires a functional dungeon team.
Also, if I noticed that correctly, riposte won’t block for first 0.25s, just like whirlwind attack.

argument. I’ve done a lot of fractals without them to know how valuable they are (or rather how they trivialize whole thing).
The difficulty spike in my experience from 38 to 48 is night and day. There is a larger allowable margin of error in 30 than 40+. Also, agony IS an issue in 48. Agony isn’t an issue at all 38 with 45AR – it just ticks 1%. However in 48 with 45 AR, you will still be hit for 18%. While you should be able to avoid agony on most bosses, maw agony cannot be avoided which is why guardians equip tome and/or you do 99 trick. I’m assuming you have done 48, however, just in case you haven’t and you’re just theorycrafting….maw agony in 48 will down most players with 45AR in one round unless guardians are running tomes or there is some ridiculous healing going on.
Difficulty scaling scales at least hp linearly. Every level it’s 1.25% or 2.5%. It’s been tested using skritt technology.
Personally, I have guardian at lvl 80 and ele at lvl 76, so it’s not just theory but practice. I’ve done levels 48 maw without any guardians, elementalist or rangers. It’s doable with 5 glass cannons – 4 warriors/1 mesmer. You need some coordination or just one human.

Ele high dps builds are leecher builds, they are bad for solo.
Crystaline Entities in Arah path 1 are also victims of this nasty bug. I can’t RP properly.

I forgot to mention I meant tpvp not zvz where people play without their brains. If you think you can 2v1 similiarly skilled player in more balanced environment than zvz you are really overestimating their skill level.

But I have yet to see any place in PvE that my ele can’t handle. I’ve even soloed multiple dungeons, beaten liadri and done the 5-gamkittenallange with an ele . If now the elementalist were that bad on damage and died so easily, the class would get kicked out of a dungeon-group more than the former ranger. Which is simply not the case, excluding CoF p1 speedfarm (when that existed) I’ve never gotten kicked out of a group for being an elementalist.
Me too but it doesn’t mean the class is okay. Compare lupi solos for instance, my best one is ~14 minutes while on warrior its been done in <6 minutes.
Bringing up conjures isn’t valid for argumentations sake. Most of us didn’t pick supposedly flexible and high-skill cap profession to spam autoattacks from lh. I want normal weapon sets like d/d or s/d to be more valid. Conjures were supposed to bring more flexibility, not just damage.
And last thing, some speedrunners are actually using rangers, engineers and thieves now.
3v1 against scrubs who prefer to pewpew with shortbow instead of rezzing. Winning 2v1 is extremely hard against people similiary skilled.
And right now I miss gw1 and its ability to play cross-region. If you say necros are the easiest profession to dealt with I dare to say you played against bads, real bads. Death shroud + spectral armour and you take 20% of their life force. There’s no lemongrass or other gimmicks like sigil of generosity to help you even a little with typical burst. You also have to stay on the point and eat his spam or you’ll run out of endurance for more dangerous spam. Stop this 1v1 dueling bs, game is more about playing objective.
And 60 tokens (more with bags) are equal to ~1.66g. So you can actually get almost 5g.
Hyperbole, like saying you can get 40s of retalation through blast finishers. Don’t be meticulous.

It’s not like other classes got any other changes beside few very minor ones like signet of restoration.
Yes, better by 1% if you don’t run with bads. Still, the best build would be one warrior with empower allies+scholar runes and rest with desperate power+ruby orbs or maybe ogre runes.
Before last boss there are 2 champion spiders, really fast to kill if you have any reflections. Hence running with your team makes sense.

Casuals that dont agree are very quick to report posts. I got reported multiple times on the necro forums for telling someone they were wrong politely, after they full on insulted me. I can take an insult so I didnt bother to report them back. I just find it amusing that mods have no issue infracting the player who gets reported but they fail to check the other posts.
That’s just kitten.
The reason there is “not zerk = bad” stigma is because the learning curve for using berserker basically involves avoiding heavily choreographed OHKO attacks and against mobs just grouping, cleaving and spamming blinds. Of course it’s a lot more forgiving on say a mesmer with our fat 19k HP pool rather than a thief or elementalist.
It’s also about running in more faceroll-ish team composition with lots of defense which certain classes provide. Zerker is good when there’s no constant pressure. Otherwise you might need sustainability which, again, certain professions grant.
Elementalists have always been an excellent profession in pvp. The only exception was for the last patch, not because we were nerfed, but because some builds were overbuffed and can counter our best builds. Once the nerfs for other professions come in, we should see play again in pvp.
Out of my head:
- D/D cleric bunker eles (countered by current thief’s boon-stealing meta)
- S/D valkyrie instant burst eles (countered by current high condition + high defense meta)
- S/D berserker dps variation (decent versus current meta with the right traits and utilities)For pve, there’s only a single good profession. Warrior. With Guardians and Mesmers filling in a niche. This has nothing to do with balance. It’s purely the fault of pve’s content design. To make elementalists, and most other professions, more useful in pve, the encounter design needs to be improved. Still, you can always go for a Lightning Hammer build, and deal high damage while spread plenty of might and fury to your warriors.

For PvE, typical W/G/M meta moved to more variations. Speed runners are using rangers, engineers, elementalist and they stopped using mesmers. I don’t particularly agree with everything they do but saying it’s just W/G/M is too stretched out.
