It seems ANet has inadvertently created an amazing meta-villain. Scarlet is a more effective villain outside the game than she is within it.

I bounce between liking her and not minding her. I’ve never hated her. I can see why some would dislike her, though the amount of pure vitriol spewed out about her I most chalk up to hyperbole.

I loved this article. Great insight into the creative process, and a look behind the scenes as to how everyone’s favorite jobless jerk golem came into being and how he has evolved through the Living Story.

I LOVE the new faces. Especially the noseless ones. They help accentuate the Sylvari’s alien nature, and not just be human faces with a few bumps or thorns.

The only way this cutscene could have been better is if it showed our characters slowly walking away, towards the camera, without looking back at the tower.

In our Borderlands would be terrible. The queues would be horrendous. I imagine the chest will appear in Lion’s Arch, down at all the WvW portals. That way everyone can go get it right away.

Kiel’s not afraid to do what she has to to get the job done. She was a hardass with Dessa, but only as much as she needed to be. I like her.

Braham and Rox (and Frostbite). They’re just a fun party. I enjoy their banter.

I came across two in Malchor’s Leap.

The DO NOT TOUCH thumper pillars could very well have something to do with the dragons. As we learned in the Thuamanova Fractal, Scarlet was using the facility to study ley lines and dragon energy. Now we get these pillars and that sound bite.

This could be promising. Maybe.

Her line “Yup, my work here is done,” struck me as sort of self-deprecating humor on her part.

“Yup, I royally screwed this up,” is essentially what she meant. The reactor was an experiment, and it didn’t pan out. So she left to engage her next experiment, giving a flippant apology to her erstwhile allies for the mess.

I feel sorry for Dessa. She can never leave, and has no idea what’s happened to her and her krewe.

Since the new patch came out I get kicked out from the server pretty often. Server gets laggy and kicks me out and because of that I can’t really do anything in GW2.

While this is my opinion, and I am in no means a music expert, I feel the music in the trailer portrayed “space adventure” more than “a tower of nightmares.”

I’ve said this in another thread, and I’ll say it here: I believe Anet made the music bad on purpose, so contestants won’t feel intimidated. They’ll say “Oh, I can do WAY better than that!”

My Krait Obilesk Shard won’t reset for another skill point after the first use. Two daily resets have come and gone and it won’t change. Everything I’ve seen says it’s supposed to give a skill point per day.

Uh, just about every RPG / adventure game ever? It isn’t a new concept.

“finish/during X quest/level, gain (insert name) skill/spell”

Quick examples:

Crash bandicoot, collect a new skill like body slam on the way through a particular level.

TES 5: Skyrim, do main story, gain FUS RO DAHHHHHH!!!

1.) It’s using the Krait. They’re an often ignored enemy group that deserves more attention. Especially given how completely evil they are. No gray areas here. They’re arrogant, violent, slave-taking, people-eating monsters who dream of literally flooding the planet.

2.) The Krait appear to have gotten a minor makeover. Love the glowy spots.

3.) New skill! Haven’t seen this done since GW1, where missions could grant you new skills. Nice callback, Anet.

4.) A shard for my home instance? Yes, please! I like getting new stuff for my home, and this one will make forging charged crystals much quicker.
