?? We transfered from a high pop server after recruiting like crazy??

Can you inform me when and where that happened as you seem to have all these socalled “facts”. What i remember was a dead server so a guild concurance to move…the guild leader didnt research, just literally picked the last ranked server in the game.

Oh, and please check my post AGAIN about PRO’s numbers. Dunno why everyone keeps getting stuck on the 300+ part and not what’s actually in Wv3. But hey, some might have a reading disorder so I wont bother them.

PS: I touched maself and it burns…..

because your loud, annoying, really visible in game, and usually part of disorganized zergs that are easy to wipe… when we have the numbers to fight and not just 2 people.

Engi, Ranger, Necro all need serious work, not sure when or if it will happen. Anet seem blind to the enormous gap between some classes, I’m not saying a well played X class is always going to be bad but what those three classes bring to the table the other 5 can do better. Its a shame really.

Engineers can cause havok when running with small groups. If I find a cluster of enemies, I lead with a supply drop right on top of them, then start spamming grenades as I run around in the middle of them all. MOST players, after being stunned for a couple of seconds, then see red circles at their feet, will give up on any offensive ‘plan’ they may have had and they start going into escape mode. I can usually stay alive long enough to scatter the group, which makes them much easier to defeat by the rest of my group. It works more often than it fails.

Do not underestimate they psychological effect of the red circle. Just about everyone has a Pavlovian response to it, and that is to dodge-roll out. If there are a bunch of them all around, players tend to run out until they are clear. This scatters them, and gives your group the advantage. Also very effective at getting players off of seige. You can create just enough of an opening for the rest of your melee to charge in.

I’ve been able to control chokepoints against small groups just by littering the ground in front of them with red circles from my grenades. They hate running through it. They eventually will charge through, but you’ve bought your team a few seconds of control, and sometimes that’s all it takes to win.

Also, besides the Ele, is there anyone better at keeping the enemy off the walls during a seige than a grenade spamming Engineer?

Also, with 6/6 runes of the centaur and swappable first aid kits, Engineers can also provide group perma-swiftness.

seconding this post, i dont run with small strike teams (since im a glass cannon spec)… but its very easy to make an entire zerg consistently back off from grenade spam. engineers are masters at scaring giant masses of people away from choke points, and well… thats useful when you play it right. especially if some ballsy thief decides to charge and instagib someone who you can then spam grenades at.

we just tried our very best to scare off what few devona’s there were in your border kaineng! have fun taking some red stuff for once!

we wanted garrison pretty bad for the poi/vistas… sadly, devona caught sight of our 2 golems and we barely got out with one at 1/2. but it took us through the other 2 keeps and a tower afterwards… as its hp was slowly whittled away to 1 hit left during the whole tower capture.

good thing devona wasnt defending.

Nice fights tonight Ferg. You brought your zerg to DR’s BL in force and ready to pwn. Too bad we shut u down with all 8 of us vs your 20+….lol. Love defending! Well, to be fair defending is a lot easier. We held you as long as we could, called for help from the other maps, but i think at 4am there was maybe 20 DR online combined on all the maps rofl. Kainj’s PvDoor team woke up and started in on EB, so we couldnt get any reinforcements. Thought you had the Hills there for a sec, yay for upgrades and full supplies! lol.

Well, great fights and even though I’m sure u all will take our BL as you’ve got us outmanned by bout 3-4:1 easy….we gave u a heck of a good fight =)

All round fun times.

Darxio: ive noticed when u losing, u always QQn bout “DR hates us”…but when ur winning its “Kain owning DR”…u almost never post about your fights with Ferg. So im to understand its ok for Kaineng to focus soley on DR..but not for DR to focus on Kaineng? Even though we’re not, regardless of what you think, DR is in a throwdown with Ferg just as much as we’re fighting you. Stop da waahhhtrain, get back in the fight. Or stick to PvE. (lol jk)

hills became a distraction for bay when you received no reinforcements for about a 1/2 hour as we whittled your supply down and broke your siege equipment. and you only successfully pushed us out after calling in your zerg from elsewhere, after we finally got 2 catas to stay up. when half your border was red.

Just wanna say Kain could have likely won this match if they just took smart advantage of the opportunities presented by Ferg controlling a lot of Devona’s BL. Instead they attack us on Devona BL and our own map. Silly

no one listens on Kain. Its mega hard to make Kain pugs listen. Our whole guild cant field many ppl. Its been impossible trying to get ppl to work together to take stuff. Most just wana attack the gate for no dam reason with auto attack.

pretty sure your leaders are to blame for that. pugs WILL listen to people whom they think have a brain. it may take a few tries and some spamming to get it thru their chat blocks, but if your leaders arent willing to say things to galvanize your forces, they shouldnt be leading.

and if you recognize it and refuse to act, maybe being part of a zerg isnt right for you. try pvp or 1 – 2 party strike forces where you dont need to spam.

its no different from building it in the courtyard (at least trebs)… you just get to see where you aim instead of needing a spotter. if a cat or 3 are really annoying you that much, you can always build a treb out of their range.

and if you cant besiege their siege you really need to stop and think some more.

right, because a history of spiky drops in supply at midnight eastern time for the past 3 days is definitely indicative of mass amounts of people buying all the chocolate in a market scare.

the problem is you want tool kit to be useful in places it really has no use.

its irreplaceable in wvw. 4 is an excellent addition to your repertoire of skills that get you past the zerg at your tower’s gate. 5 is extremely offensive in more ways than one, and 2 makes it even nastier. the belt skill is a solid chunk of damage that does about twice as much as an autoattack, great burst.

1 and 3 arent great for anything i want out of the kit, but im also comfortable switching my skills out in different situations and dont just run a certain 3 utilities 100% of the time. although i admit elixir b and grenades are there at least 95% of the time…

but in pve… a pull is useless. 3 seconds of block against enemies you can kite anyways is useless. another cripple when you are already a master of cc isnt needed. and being melee when you picked that profession because its ranged is bad. just use something else. when you wanna wvw, then try toolkit.

im also pretty afraid of all these people quoting their 8% or 20% and just flat out saying your wrong

do you guys realize that only 3/13 statted slots are getting the new gear today? considering that, the “8%” number really does translate to a character being about 2% stronger with the 3 slots as opposed to without.

fully geared characters will be monsters when facing upleveled or rare (or less) geared characters, especially once the rest of the slots come out.

i sometimes enjoy talking to rival server players much more. like when i see 2 servermates trying to get thru the arena in the battlegrounds puzzle, exchanging shots with the enemy at the trap chains. he waves, i wave, were cool… and my servermates beg me to do something about him because they fired the first shot and are now being put thru hell.

the only use ive found for flamethrower is defending a gate in wvw. 1 goes thru the gate. you can be a really nasty addition to a defense (use omnom ghost/pie), especially if the red names on the other side dont use retaliation (use ghost popper + precision, stack chill or 20 might pretty easy). i dont really use it aside from that.

in dungeons i spam grenades from afar mostly. for dungeon point defense (like AC1 w/ the room where you guard the npcs and masses of gravelings + burrows) ill swap out flamethrower for thumper turret and drop it next to the npc. its a pretty good fire-and-forget that means youre doing something w/ the utility slot while spamming 1 1 1 1 1 in grenades.

also in wvw, 25 explosives grants you a vuln-on-explosions trait thats extraordinarily helpful in quickly downing a buffed supply camp supervisor when you have a zerg mindlessly autoing it (…grenade spam again).

rifle in general is really really good against anything melee (especially pve) cuz you can kite and cc lock enemies.

and i dont think anyone has said this yet but runes of the centaur + med kit = aoe perma swiftness, and synergizes nicely w/ 5 firearms and pow/prec gear

i’d love to see this since i dont really feel motivation to create any other classes

…however, giving the same incomparable to 2 classes is absolutely terrible game design. currently, people will choose to roll mesmers for the simple fact that they have a unique skill thats really useful. giving it to another class takes away the novelty and introduces a competition between the 2.

for example, jump shot / rifle 5 is unique to engi… i wouldnt want it given to another class, because its my unique way of cheating at jump puzzles and exploring parts of the map that werent intended to be accessed. giving it to a ______ would take away the uniqueness and cheapen the skill overall.

plus… shooting a portal would be ridiculously OP and you would absolutely HAVE to keep the same mechanics as mesmer’s. and then its not a portal gun.

if you thought a mesmer hiding in the keep you just took was annoying… well you dont even know how much more rage a portal gun would induce.

You don’t want to move to Anvil Rock. Just to be blantantly honest, we’re probably too tough for you.

We are always outnumbered at least 100 to 1, but never lose a fight. The only reason we don’t own everything is that we don’t have enough players to have one person at all locations.

We are currently considering armor removal for every participant in wvw. This would not really give anyone else a chance, but would make us feel even more overpowered.

That being said, people that transfer in usually feel ill-equipped and think that we are elitist and arrogant.

We are.

this post is an awesome reason to stay in ferg’s! since were already the bottom of the barrel, theres no place to go but up… and we arent elitist and arrogant because weve had our kitten handed to us the last couple matchups by unfortunate server transfers!

alt f4 screws the player out of the world for a good 2 minutes longer than simply dying and respawning. and its easy to make a character who can tag everyone in a zerg v zerg for drops.

its dumb, but its just an issue with people refusing to lose at a personal level (at any cost) rather than a game balance issue like orbs were.

i dont think you understand that the game does not render the thief for 3 (at least) of those 3.3 seconds that they cannot restealth. you can see yourself playing the thief. your opponent cannot.

thats where the frustration enters.

so yes, please, keep writing walls of text about how a thief is counterable, how you yourself dont suck at dodging, and how thief damage is crap with most weapons. and completely miss why everyone hates thieves.

why dont you just tell everyone to drop $2k on a desktop with a state of the art graphics card and other nice things? even then the rendering issues wont be solved.

If you see a Commander being trollsy and refusing to turn it off, ignore him and move with a different group. I find it hard to believe there’s only 1 Commander per map.

actually, in ferg’s crossing… there are often 0 commander tags

having 2+ at all times in each map is a concept that would make my brain explode. i follow whatever commander i see because theyre such a rare commodity. at least until i have an opinion of them.

ferg’s! where the last queue i saw was at match reset 3 weeks ago! and it was only like 10 mins! and only on 1 map! always play, never wait!

Get rid of the orbs and the 7 day matches would be fine.

As it is, the match is only meaningful until the server with the most population inevitably gets all three orbs (otherwise known as the “I Win Button”).

Naw. Competitive matches have orb swings all day, back and forth. I think that quite often the correlation of a winning server having 3 orbs is misinterpreted as causation.

Orbs make WvW more interesting.

orbs run counter to the vision of having every person feel like they can make a difference.

when you are being roflstomped by another server, your server’s population declines from a disinterest in fighting a losing battle against insurmountable odds. the few loyal or stupidly stubborn players left can’t do anything but be spawn camped because they are given a buff worthless to making them stronger, and the roflstomping server gets a buff that helps them stomp even harder.

the added circumstance of daily transfers exacerbates the problem to a downward spiral of unfun total dominance. and the orbs are part of it.

in a competitive match, orbs are nothing more than a power play. and there are other ways to achieve a power play situation that dont allow 1 side to just have more stats than another.

for example, a 10-20 minute respawn timer when queues are in effect (allowing you to join pve and hold your place in the wvw map in the down time) would allow for something like a zerg crushing another and taking a piece or 3 of territory. filtering to roflstomping matches… well there aren’t queues anyways so dedicated players would be encouraged to swap to losing servers so they aren’t bombarded with ridiculous down times and queue times. but it encourages super zerging, which i don’t think would be right for wvw.

or you could do something like.. acquiring an additional 40-50 points worth of territory in a single point count round gives you a 1-3 hour stat boost effect, stacks duration. its possible to get in competitive matches and has little relevance in roflstomps where the winning side has enough of the territory that they CAN’T get it, but a good push from a losing server gives you a great boost to swing the land count back to even.

or make siege equipment cost more supply based on currently held territory.

there are so many different things anet could do besides encouraging roflstomps that still allow power plays in the same fashion of orbs. saying they’re fine when they obviously aren’t in the bad matchups is just sweeping a major issue under the rug.

Flamethrower build

works great in wvw defending a gate (specially as glass cannon… 30/30/0/0/10 + zerker gear, on-crit passive traits when available).

too short of range for me in other cases, useless on a wall or for chasing in a field.

can also work as a bunker in spvp… something like 0/0/30/30/0 + 10 choice, taking juggernaut.

kits are our weapon swaps. theyre meant to fill a niche. dont just run around with 1 all the time.

i (from ferg) do NOT appreciate devona’s rest people abusing Anet’s misplacement of the invulnerability buff border at bluevale refuge.

the purpose of the buff is to protect players at their spawn. not allow melee situations with invulnerable players.

thats all i have to say, and all i will say.
