Well lets see since launch many moons ago:
Keep Walls and obstruction issues hasn’t been fixed. Try tossing a grenade down below off a keep wall and it hits at your feet even if you have a clear line to the target and the keep wall is maybe as high as your knees. On the reverse trying hitting someone even if the entire top half of the body is seen over the keep wall and you get “obstructed”. Now this is something that was complained about in Beta, but never was fixed.
Class Balance: as much as I like GW2, this is the worse game I seen for class balance, although they made some improvement, but two classes that stand out top and bottom for PvP / WvW to me that haven’t really been addressed are Thieves and Rangers.
Thieves, Invisibility abilities are so crazy OP for a class that can go a fight 90% of the time invisible and at the same time removing status ailments, healing, etc. I seen multiple times a good thief player take on 3 to 4 people and win or at least stay alive forever. Is this possible? or is this someone hacking with no cooldown on skills? or is the thief just this OP that it is possible? If the later is true then is this even close to balance? no…, has this even close to being addressed? not really.
Rangers, despite the latest patch they are still the easy kill class in the game for the most part. The worse one on one PvP class. Now I am sure there are some good Rangers out there, and to them I give lots of credit. To me they need help with melee as there isn’t enough a Ranger can do once they are closed in upon, there are far to many ways to close distance than a Ranger can offset.
One thing I did like in a game called Warhammer Online was the fact enemies could not walk through each other, so you could create a bit of a tank wall in some choke points, which I think is was a pretty cool idea, not sure how it would work in GW2. I kind of miss the the hard core tank, dps, healer, and support classes. But yes GW2 combat I think is pretty good overall.
You have to realize there are other factors that go into revive time, some classes have boosts to reviving, I think maybe Warriors if not mistaken, plus the amount of people reviving of course will make it faster. Maybe healing ability, the amount of HP, etc plays a factor as well.
I was never a big fan of downstate in PvP or WvW either, but I doubt they will ever remove it.

Everything is viable, don’t be a lemming like most kids now days, just think for yourself and try it out.
I don’t have a elementalist, but it seems like to me they are the best aoe class in the game, whether damage or heals.
Ok thanks, I hope they start season 2 soon as possible, right now there isn’t a whole lot of people playing WvW on my server now that season 1 is over.
After Season 1 finished our server is kind of lacking people in WvW, so I was hoping Season 2 would start soon, but I can’t seem to find info on this “Season” idea and how it suppose to work.
So do they have only 1 Season per year or are they having each Season with a week break in between or something?
I like that idea myself, good way to counter the high DPSers.
Easy, go stealth and/or put out 20 clones and run away because you are outnumber, or wait 3 seconds then attack.
Didn’t change anything I was and still am more of a team support with DPS second. Not with flags but the mighty blowhorn and a sword with axe offhand as 2nd weapon. Focusing on toughness, and Health. Not great one vs one, but good for helping the team survive.
Yes they should give us a stealth trait for this at least.
Thieves are still OPed
Killshot is way higher than backstab. Killshot is the hardest hitting skill pr hit in the game- if a backstab hits for 15 k a killshot will hit for 17 k.
And the warrior can’t go stealth 90% of a fight nor instantly apply 5 different conditions either…

lol yeah that is pretty much the truth about the OP in this post.
GvG is only for a certain amount of players, not everyone cares about GvG, so Anet I think is taking the right approach to putting it on an extra project list.

I guess I fit into both categories.
They are not terrible, but they are not really strong at anything either other than having the longest reaching attack with the longbow. The pet is a negative more than anything in WvW, it is dead almost instantly and unfortunately counts as DPS for you. If you could somehow stow the pet and add its spirit to your bow damage it would be nice.
Game by far, only come on here occasionally.
OK give every class the ability to go stealth 90% of the fight and see how thief players enjoy it.
All of it, easy PvP, group play, helping your team, epic battles, really there isn’t to many games that offer WvW currently on the market with a decent player base and do it as well that I know of.
Some of the humor that goes with it like above from Omnitek, makes it fun too.
It’s getting close, at the rate the game is losing players I dont doubt that server merges will happen within Q1 2014 unless major changes are made.
LOL, yeah ok another “losing players” person, yet GW2 was number 3 in sales in a major game store behind the two brand new shooters that were just released, top that off apparently you think people pay a sub to this game? no they can come and go, and come back all they want.
It really does depend on build, and how good the player is, but some classes are easier to use, and there is a rock, paper, scissors thing going as well. With my warrior I don’t fear theives at all, I can just about stand there and laugh at them with my certain build, but at the same time I can’t kill them either so…
Like others said all classes are viable, but some are better than others.
I don’t know why are you asking us? Find something else to do with your life that is more meaningful.
Nerf stealth then we will talk
Eng take a lot of work to be good with, probably one of the hardest classes to play well in 1 vs 1 fight. I mostly use him as support for WvW with elixer gun or sometimes I break out the flamethrower. But otherwise I run into a thief I am toast.
Stealth is not a problem for experienced players
I disagree, I have been playing since beta, and stealth is a problem. It is OPed and has been since day one. You can not have a class that can go stealth almost an entire fight.
World Warcraft did it fairly good for balancing stealth.
I have no problem with massive burst damage, and having some stealth to escape, but not all the time, along with stealthed finisher moves on top of it.
Deary, that is why you have other abilities that heavy armor people do not, you have a role and need to play that role. Squishy classes are squishy in all games, it is just how it works. If you want heavy armor then you have to play a Warrior or Guardian it is simple as that.
I must have missed something because nobody else ask this, but I have 3 of the level 1 key parts, but it won’t open the large chest on the top of the tower.
Double click them to combine 3 differently colored key-pieces into one tri-color key – and that one will work.

What if losing servers could only attack leading server?
I thought of something similar some time ago. Problem is when you have a fairly balanced match up it is a punishment for being in 1st, maybe if it was done if the score gap reached a certain level then that idea would take effect.
Funny all the Ranger hate, Rangers are great, you don’t need your pet if you spec right.
I can escape with my Ranger almost as much as with my Mes. you can burn people down with long bow in almost one volley of #2 ability, and the aoe crippling shot is nice to slow down a group of enemies that the rest of your team can finish off. Not to mention the healing spring is nice to remove conditions.
Yeah them are better confusions you guys are suggesting. Heck at the very least randomly mix up your controls, like up becomes down, right becomes up, etc..
WvW is the one thing that GW2 has above other games. Up and coming is Everquest Next, now this game has some big promises and some big ideas, if they come through with what they say, it may draw many away from GW2 PvE player base, WvW is the one thing that could keep GW2 going for some time. PvE gets old and stale quickly for some of us, and some of us bought GW2 for WvW mostly.
Yep any class that can take on 3 or more people at once and live needs a nerf bat, and I mean any class that fits this situation.

OP, nope sorry, your idea will destroy the WvW community, guilds will only run with guild mates all others players will be rejected. This is enough of this problem already as it is in WvW that would only compound the problem.
The only safe possibly solution to zerg size is LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF PLAYERS FROM EACH SERVER PER MAP. This may require more WvW maps to be made, it may also force players to lower pop servers who get tired out waiting in que, thus balancing WvW more.
Yada yada yada, really right now fixing skill lag should be number #1 out of all things. It seems like it got worse not better.
Well the mid levels are bad for WvW it seems like to me with any class, the scaling they use is poor at those mid levels, once you get lv70 and above with decent gear you will do better, although I find the Eng my weakest WvW guy to DPS with.
How about removing the cooldown on a Eng turret that you pick up?
Unless the turret is destroyed or left behind you shouldn’t need a cooldown because you picked it back up.
I think the lack of true support, healing, tank, is part of it, the game is DPS focused mainly. Top that off with many skills that are useless or borderline useless with long cooldowns. Doesn’t offer much variety.
Yeah WvW isn’t much fun if you get matched up with certain servers and you are outmanned at every turn. Top it off with some guilds not wanting players outside the guild with them or don’t communicate simple instructions as moving to location “X” now, like that would be so hard to do.
Be nice if someone would make a WvW type game with balance and true team play without all the elitism crap.
