Some people already struggle with this “easy mode” … adding hard-mode would just further divide community.
Do you play all dungeons with all professions or just your usual warriors/guardians?
I’m doing dungeons with completely random-pug groups with my condition necromancer. You’ll never belive which setups i met Like 4 engineers with different builds, that was fun
Not torch. I’m already up weaponsmith (dagger) and artificer (staff+scepter) and don’t want up huntsman >_<
Not enough Aetherblades for you? :/
IMO, the only place where condition builds are at a true disadvantage in PvE is world bosses that still have the generic 25 stack limit on them.
I love to see condition-dealers in my dungeon groups. You just have to be careful not to have too many of them in one group, because the stack limits are restrictive. Even that isn’t too much of a problem.
Frankly, I’m more wary of zerkers, since most people can’t play them well enough to avoid taking dirt naps most of the time.
best thing in condition build that for maximize damage i need only 1 stat, so 1-2 i can use for defense (rabid gear for me, crit for applying more bleeds and fire), when power-build require precision and crt. dmg. to max so if zerk-guy not good enough – he will die.
They’re easy. All of them, even with random pugs. They’re not require support-class in party, 5 dps easily can do everything without any troubles (few tricky bosses, but 5 dps still can do them).
If don’t create new dungeons – add new difficulty (add Agony mechanic, so ascended stuff don’t use just for fractals) with unique reward and twice (or whatever) tokens or new value for something.
In my native language Djinn and Genie mean same :/ What the difference?
The only difference is the origin of the spelling really. But as I say above some seem to be under the impression that they are different, at least in terms of the game.
Though on a side note what is you native language? If you don’t mind me asking.
Russian
In my native language Djinn and Genie mean same :/ What the difference?
Got kicked from dungeons dozen of times, because i’m not “zerker”, this is really obnoxiously. I love conditions playstyle, but people hate them :/
yes i have second gear with zerk stats, but don’t like to use it
Maybe it’s not a bug, but chest after killing Risen Wizard didn’t drop any dragonite ore.
sylvari run awkwardly and tend to look bad in most armor (male). they are perfect, however, as the highlight of a salad dish, or to be used to start a campfire, depends on the individual i guess.
With 2 human characters i’m actually like how sylvari run.
Also Sylvari have elite with 3 seconds invulnerability and human elites are junk.
Tequatl on Hylek means “the one in darkness”
I don’t get it…
Trahearne is not that bad a guy, why all the hate?
Everyone hate Trahearne, deal with it
This is not a bug but as intended. The event is very hard and requires more coordination to be succesfull then other events. Knowing the spawns and specially the ones that insta-wipe the pact-people is important. Staying in front of the pact is important. You only need a few people ad the pact to prevent them from any lone risen that got through. There is one exception where a big mob spawns behind them and in front of them (just when you start on the climb to the temple). So be prepared for that as well.
The last thing is to not stay with foes when the pact is allready moving. The last two corners are places where people often linger around killing vets that spawned, while the mob allready passed on.
But IT IS bug, pact CAN’T be such a COWARDS, they didn’t even die, they didn’t get much damage. What a kitten.
Sylvari ofcourse
Also, sorry for the double post, what gear is that? It looks great!
Phoenix armor from gem store + boots from HotW and start necromancer skull mask ofc
Yeah…. doesn’t sit right with me. Sylvari are too connected with life and nature to be necromancers imho.
If nature can bloom it is also can fade. Sylvari necromancer is spike poisonous vine
Sylvari ofcourse
So i have 1000 hours on my war, most of them i was berserker, but really sick and tired of this and start thinking about some different build.
Rampager gear + sword now in my mind. Power and precision should keep your pure damage on decent level and condition damage will up bleeds from sword, so overall damage should be kinda good (full condition build for warrior is not and option with just bleed)
What do you think?
With cross-server party creating it doesn’t matter where to play, bro.
It’s drop insanely fast. Even if big zerg destroy risens in seconds – morale drop and event fail
I didn’t say A-net shouldn’t hide everything, this would be unfair to peoples who like investigate and stuff
When open-lore which everyone can see is presented very poorly, hidden lore is just awesome, with conspiracy and stuff.
As example – SAB, Jenie and one weird science machine which activate only if you have code from Jenie in SAB which i will never knew if not WoodenPotato (i really hate playing SAB, but it is hide important part of lore)
WoodenPotato explain better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8Q9iAx_8Wk
I do love my DS heavy power build, and I do love my little ‘death rat’ (Asura are just soo cute at being evil).
Asuras made to be evil and crazy.
They’re not affecter by condition and crits, and when for power/x/x builds constructions can be destroyed in seconds – for condition users it will took ages.
I think damage to them should be percentage, not pure damage. (Or made them at least burn’able)
You have 114 years of playtime on your berseker warrior?
fixed
I had ~1000 hours on my bers war and 800 of them i hate to play him (but was too lazy to up and gear someone else), then i up engineer, it was very fun on leveling but on 80 i found playstyle is very uncomfortable and drop it.
And then i decide to make some light armor class, tried mesmer but pink-purple skills is just bleh, elementalist looks bit complicated and i start Necro and fall in love.
Especially condition build (yes, conditions underpowered in pve, especially with constructions, but still), heal with conditions, transfer conditions, cure conditions and ofcourse Death Shroud.
Now i’m just finished gathering ascended trinkets, got asc scepter and close to dagger.

The problem with the current dungeons is that heavily front-loaded damage like the warrior brings to the table can basically make any dungeon mechanics irrelevant. Partially to blame for this is the evade system and the fact that if you pack enough damage into your group you basically kill any boss before you even need to evade a 3rd time.
I’d personally like to see evades get the same treatment as blocks and have certain attacks become “unavoidable” forcing players to either be able to mitigate that damage some other way or recover from it quickly enough. That might help put a stop to the heavy favoritism that glass cannon setups currently receive in PvE.
And what exactly necromancer should do at 3rd dodge moment? Warrior have WW, guard invulnerable, mesmer blur, engi shrink potion, elem shield, thief more dodges, even ranger have extra dodge. What have necro? Death shroud? But what if it’s 1shot-kill attack?
So Sylvari just popped out of nowhere and I was thinking that the Sylvari were made to replace Humans. I mean, let’s face it guys, the Humans are probably doomed to extinction. So I was thinking that the Sylvari were created to replace the Human’s place on Tyria. What do you think?
Humans can’t extinct, it’s humans. They’re can live in everywhere, they can survive everything if it’s physically possible. Only way to kill entire human race – track down every single person. If few survive – in some time they’re grow strength back and repopulate entire world like always they do.

if you’re a charr
Sylvari
1. Buy on TP (Jatoro if light)
2. Buy for CoE tokens
3. Maybe on wvw mechant (not sure)
It’s Boss at Arah gates in heavy orr armor if someone forget. Which colors he use?
Nope, since they changed DS we can’t use it as a block. Were simply behind other class’s now after a 30sec fight. (Main reason were asked by nice groups to sit out boss fights, or simply kicked from groups)

Helps a little.
Maybe that was a bug, but this aoe on p2 from Subject damage only 50% of DS bar i didn’t even dodge sometimes.
Stick with problem – my endurance regen is not enough to dodge every Subject cast, before i did it only with my war, who have additional dodge (ww attack). And not really know what to do. Maybe i can consume one attack with DS bar?
You guys cant be serious….
I have a ranger, and some parties I have been with do not use zerker builds. We tried Arah 4 and let me say, some bosses have so much health that it takes extremely long to dps them down, PLUS we have to deal withtheir instant kill mechanics.
yes there are some bosses that are boring, but their HP should NOT be increased, rather it should be balanced for all builds. Zerker build warriors will always melt bosses faster than anything, but they have the risk of dying quickly because of their low defense, yet low damage/high toughness classes should not be punished and left to dps the boss in about an hour. honor of the waves is an excellent example of such monstrosity of dungeon design.
Post is not about INCREASING hp, but about DECREASING HP and up DAMAGE+More interesting skills and mechanics
Giant jelly reminds me of HoTW bosses.
Push autoattack and go to sleep =_=
So in your opinions – which combinations is better for pve? Full rabid, full dire, or some kind of mixing them?
So zerk then…
Same happende to me. All you can do is report, sadly. Only way to avoid this situation – start party by yourself.
Some bosses have huge amount of HP, but basically harmless and all you can do is just DPSing him to death.
Yes, some bosses have interesting mechanics (like one in AC with traps or our lovely Lupicus) but some are just fat dummies.
IMHO, bosses should be way more deadlier (maybe add hard mode for regular dungeons with increased reward and agony mechanic) but died faster or have some mechanics which require tactic and not just mindless zerg.
report them all!
A lot of full glass cannon GS warriors fail to realize this.
I have 1k hours on my glass zerk war, i did Dungeon Master with him and lot of fractals. Being warrior is not hard (with 20k default HP+heavy armor, when thieves or elem as example have like 12k), being pve zerk warrior is extrimely boring. Especially when everyone expect from you meta GS-build with mindless 100b spam.
Love playing necro, but people don’t like when i switch to it from my war :/
Endurance refill on switch to weapon could be useful for pvp
For PvP you build zerker’s irrespective of class
pve-only question
Krag has the right idea for power builds, but Rabid is pretty excellent for condition builds.
Also, be aware that you will be pretty squishy if you go full berserker or rabid. So, you might consider mixing in some Dire or Soldier for some toughness and vit.
I have 1000 hours on zerk-war, i know how to be squishy
Newish to Necro so excuse the potentially dumb question but, why not use full Dire armor? Then you don’t have to worry about defensive runes. If you want crit you can always go 1/2 Dire 1/2 Rabid right?
No it isn’t hard to get. Just run some coe and there you go.
It’s because there is no need for more defensive stats. Rabid is too tanky already.
Some coe.. 1380 tokens is 23 runs of CoE (little less if count bags from bosses) :/
(Even twice more, i gather bers armor for my engi, don’t like cof skin)

Newish to Necro so excuse the potentially dumb question but, why not use full Dire armor? Then you don’t have to worry about defensive runes. If you want crit you can always go 1/2 Dire 1/2 Rabid right?
Because dire is not easy to get.
Secondly… while maxing out condition players is bad, and maxing out power build players is not that bad… it doesn’t mean you should do it… even people that say you should don’t use 4 warriors 1 mesmer full berserker in fractals 48… do you know why ?…
Because they would get crushed every 10 steps… no matter what they say, they are still hypocrites. Yes… i said it… ohh… i’m sorry, you are not… ok go 4 berserker warriors 1 berserker mesmers in fractals 48… good luck. (not you… was just saying in general).
Thats why they use 3 warriors, guardian and mesmer
Unfortunately, we are outclassed in every way when it comes to PvE content such as dungeons or fractals. Why take a necro when a single warrior by himself can do about 20k aoe with a single skill? Take three of them!
20? I do 40 on my war.. but i so hate play him :/ Necro is way more interesting and fun.
