I agree with the OP, they should make world bosses, like Maw, have more hp… is kinda lame to kill this big bad guy in like 15 seconds, give it more hp or make it a fight with phases, like 75% spawn some champs, 50% transform into something, 25% more champs then die, it would give those events some of its flavour back and would differenciate them from regular champ mobs

Today i got kicked of 3 dungeons right at the end boss 2 times in Arah one in TA, wheres the option to report this people?

its true that dungeon rewards are nice and all but people is selling spots for tokens and they dont lose anything, it goes something like this.

you pay 3g to enter arah p4 at end boss (yes you dont have to deal with lupi) you get 60 tokens plus 3g

the seller gets 3g+3g +60 tokens, are dungeons unPUGable now? i mean, where can i report this people why we dont have a griefing tab?

an easy way to protect yourself is to get 1st to the dungeon and open it

True, but that could be fixed, if the character that oppened the instance didn’t go through that storyline then the “main character” is some random hero and threharne…

Also I think the point of the Personal story was to give some weight to your character and it would totally make sense to have it tied somehow to the events that transpire in the Living story

So far the personal story has been untouched, many things have happened in tyria since launch and i think personal story needs some attention, what if…

every year the personal story completely changes? a bunch of people already killed Zhaitan more than once, it would be really cool if that personal story were to change acording to all the stuff thats been happening in Tyria, right?

there is no need for the final boss of the personal story to be a big bad dragon, you can make a name for your character taking down an evil organization or making an incredible discovery, what about having 3 story branches depending on your allegiance to the Vigil, Order or Priory that actually affects the ending?

Maybe the queen’s speech will have something to do with this? it’s supposed to be something important, somewhere in the forums says that devs stated that it will have a noticeable effect, but what could it be?

I’m running an AH/EM build 0/20/30/20/0 using Hamme/Staff and sometimes GS

regarding stats i’m using Knights armor, celestia(ascended) earrings and amulet, zerker rings, back and knight weapons.

I do pretty decent damage and feel really tanky

for the leveling process i’d recommend to use GS and Staff, GS for killing normal mobs and staff for vets and tougher enemies

well, OP has a really pessimistic view.

when you hit lvl 80 there is some stuff you can do: gear up your character, find skins for said armor/weapons, craft a legendary, run FOTM, run dungeons, finish your personal story, get 100% exploration, level your crafting, complete jumping puzzles, complete random achievements, just run around maps having fun, go to WvWvW

also, you can go to sPvP which is a complete different world.

yes, not all of those activities has awesome shinys as reward, but luckily we are not horses, so we don’t actually need a carrot on a stick to keep going forward, just try to have fun.

that looks really nice, these aetherblade pants are just too awesome

i’m currently using all Super skins for my mes, i think they fit quite well with all the illusion deal

TA armor set can look quite guardian-ish with white/blue dyes

also, i’ve found that the Whispers chest and helmet piece fit quite well, look at my toon, you can swap those tier3 shoulders for radiant ones if you are not human

I love these pants, finally armor that lets me apreciate that lovely bum.

I dont “feel” that cities are empty, NPCs do a pretty good job filling it up, with all the chatter and whatnot, also there is allways people going arround, maybe not as crowded as LA, but still got some.

i’m ok with skins being a one-time only thing, I don’t think is bad to do this kind of thing, but if you can’t stand the fact that you wont have the same shiny things as that other guy then you are most likely a skritt.

obsidian shards are pretty easy to get, you can even get the most expensive skin and sell it to make some gold

i’d go for something more like:

skill 1: light bolts explode on hit healling nearby allies for a small amount.
skill 2: a powerful arrow that explode on hit doing AoE damage and granting protection (3s) to nearby allies or maybe places a protection symbol?
skill 3: a 1200 range piercing arrow, blinds all enemies in a line
skill 4: AoE cripple + some damage
skill 5: aply at short range (400~600) knock back an enemy with a channeled barrage of arrows (the longer you channel, the farther the enemy goes) maybe up to 1200 range?

I tried to make something on par with Hammer/GS focusing on long range control/support

well this is the same story in every “group loot” mmo, I remember those pug dungeon runs in wow, getting ninja’edrunning dungeons over and over again to get that one piece of armor i needed just to loose the need roll on someone else…

I’ve never tried to leave GW2, but i’ve played a couple of games along the way and none of them has been as satisfying and pleasant as GW2, save the forum whinners, GW2 has a really nice and cool comunity AND really good gameplay.

as for me, this game’s world feels pretty alive, i’ve played a couple of MMORPGs before and this is probably the best so far in regards to that, also lately i’ve been loking a bit into the lore behind tyria and i noticed that we are seeing a really small part of the whole map right now, which is promising when thinking about expansions and whatnot.

if there is something i think is lacking quite a bit is the “living story” it goes way too slow considering the setup they presented us, in a month we should have seen more development, the bad guys are attacking for god’s sake! xD

I gotta agree, i’m trialling Tera and the armor there is amazing, very good looking.. obviously GW2 wins in other areas, but weapons and armor just amazing.

I have seen all that Chinese armors in game, mostly low level pieces to be honest..

Tera’s armor sets are pretty abhorrent, IMO.

oh man!! if onlky GW2 had armor with that lvl of skimpyness… it would be PERFECT!! obviously keeping the current “normal” kind of armor too

I like heavy armor that covers every bit of the body. A mix of metal and cloth is nice as it give the image of mobility. I do not like over sexualized armor, chain bikini arh… I won’t use it, but I’ll tolerate it. But heavy armor can be sexy too. But what I would really like, is the ability to color the details of armor pieces. The current color slots are lacking.

now, those 2 games have completely different art styles from GW2, but still you can pick siome ideas and work with them to fit the game’s style

By the way how would legendary armor work? Create the whole set all at once or craft each piece?

I think crafting the whole set at once would make them insanelly hard to get, so i’d go for piece to piece crafting, that way you can craft only the peieces you actually want for your mix and match set

In response to this I will be drawing some potential arnors.

What would you guys think of class specific armors? An idea I had was elementalist armor that could change color with the element in use. For example: Sylvari glow could change, and Charr tails could glow red, greeb, blue, and purple depending on the element, humans and Asura could get glowing eyes and hands, Norn tattoos could glow the element color.

Im also going to draw some engi armor with moving gears wiTh moving gears and pistons and steam. Maybe some ranger armor that changes what animal it looks like by what pet you have out…

They should ask cd project red for that cuz the witcher 2 perfectly clipping. But hey, we’re talking about gw2 here, the game that doesn’t even resize swords properly and they go under ground when stowed… not in many games and certainly not big budget ones you’ll that much of a fail.

I like armor with special effects like the CoF light armor does for Charr. It gives them a flaming tail. My personal opinion? HoTW ice tail, Twilight arbor plant whip tail. That would be sick.

the thing is, my taste feels quite unfulfilled here, so I wanted to know if there is someone out there feels the same.

Don’t get me wrong, I do think there are some really nice armors, its just, they don’t fit my taste, for instance:

Heavy armor: I like this kind of Metal-Cloth mix, how i wish there was something like this for my guardian!!

Ligh Armor: light armor does NOT mean cloth armor/only skirts, I think most male character users feel my pain when there are no light pants to wear!! also, I’d like to see some bigger metal pieces, like the HOTW or SE boots, but bigger, with chunks of metal for boots and hands together with some skimpy chest/legs cloth armor, that would be GLORIOUS!

Mid Armor: lol coats, seriously, they have as much coats as light armor has skirts xD

I wonder, when are we gonna get some new armor models?… probably on the 1st expansion and i hope i get some armor that fits my taste.

exactly what they said, Hammer is a more sustained dps/deffensive/control focused weapon, meanwhile GS is more bursty and is definately more offensive, doesnt have as much CC as Hammer…

in the long run damage evens out, so each weapon should be used depending on the situation
