as an ex glamour mesmer i gotta say that these runes are too powerful. our glam was never able to stack this fast, this high and this long lasting. we needed 8-10 mesmers to get up to a lot of confusion dmg like that.
the problem is that it gives 5 stacks for 15 sec per interrupts. when i was glam i would sometimes see 25 stacks ticking, but they never lasted longer than 1-3 seconds

I didn’t know interrupts were immune to dodging.

Anyone know what the Perplexity Engi build is? I cant seem to see why it would be so powerful – is it just because of the stuns/interrupts? if so surely Warriors have it beat. It has 2 skills being the Pistol and the Wrench that can inflict confusion as well – how can it be THAT strong?

It’s not. This thread is full of bads who can’t deal with conditions, and they want to keep roaming with full zerker and no removals. People who can deal with this build are playing and having fun in the game. Perplexity build is a one-trick pony, that is all. Properly played HGH build or Teldo builds are much, much more powerful.

If you can’t interrupt someone in PvP, that means he/she isn’t doing anything.

For 48 hrs on BG EB we have had a player from SoR constantly spamming balistas on dead players being rezzed and in front of gates and on top of other build sites like Trebs for the express and only reason to drain people’s supplies and slow down map capture.

All I want to say is that Anet missed a big, big opportunity to make their game more popular by trifolds by making a better WvW, especially when GW2 was pretty much the only MMO with large scale PvP. Such a shame.

I can’t think of any other game that has gone from ‘we won’t make this a grind fest’ to the complete opposite in a year.

The chances of getting an ascended drop in wvw is an easy question to answer- less likely than winning the lottery when you don’t buy a ticket for it.

Chances of being able to equip more than one toon with ascended gears and trinkets including armor and the multitude of weapons you need to run wvw builds, none.

Time it will take you if you decide to pve the necessary items and spend all day looking for ori nodes then level your crafting ON EACH TOON – years.

With the end of last week’s NA match, I had my 50th WvW “Tier 1” win.

I ran with three guilds in doing so: The Elite, Henge of Denravi; Darkness is Everywhere (DiE), Sea of Sorrows; and Center of Attention (CA), Blackgate.

The intent of this post (and the linked video) is to mark this milestone. Thank you to those I’ve fought with, and against. The Oceanic and SEA community is alive and well. Thank you also to the NA guilds that stay up late (and for reset on our Saturday mornings). The WvW experience that GW2 offers would not have been such great fun without you.

Comparing GvG to tPvP is idiotic. tPvP, requires teamwork to win. In WvW, coverage is the factor that contributes to the 90%+ of a server’s PPT.

Put it this way- I think we can agree on some excellent WvW guilds that excel in open field combat (Skill, teamwork). I can name a few, such as [TW], the former [RG]… etc. (You can find more at gw2gvg.com). If you put those guilds in one server, and rest of Na population on the other, the server with the best wvw guilds would’t stand a chance.

Diehard WvW players don’t even care that much about PPT anymore. Fighting for PPT isn’t fun, it’s often boring and strenuous. GvG is one of the only forms of true entertainment in WvW left.

And we don’t care. SoR hasn’t won 1st place in a while, and we won’t be getting 1st place any time soon until we have enough Oceanic/SEA guilds to hold all our NA gains. In the mean time, we will have fun.

JQ is in the same position SBI and SoS found themselves in.

Trying to survive on one strong time zone and being smashed / limping along in the other 3. It indeed is not able to compete in T1 at the moment but also it would destroy the tier 2 servers (I believe) it is a weird vacuum to be in, which we won’t see the outcome of until the 3 get split up and JQ gets – JQ/TC/DB. The stigma of being #1 for so long takes it’s toll on a server, be wary T1.

Good luck to JQ to pull itself out of this, may I just ask, don’t pull a SBI and abandon your map every night, actually fight back.

Edit: @Kryyg – What point is there to spending all night upgrading a BL knowing noone is there to hold it when the SoR map zerg shows up? Waha is playing for the enjoyment of the game and seems to be enjoying himself a lot more.

The problem is whether you play for an hour per day or 10 hours per day, you get the same number of laurels. That isn’t fair at all.

You need a gear treadmill in any MMO or players simply won’t come back. GW2 is doing it properly as the gear treadmill is mostly aesthetic and doesn’t give dramatic increases in ability with each tier of gear.

Now that the daily and monthly can be completed entirely in WvW, I don’t see the problem. Laurels are slow, sure. But you also have access to guild commendations to help you get the gear faster if you want. You could run fractals for the rings if you want.

Gear isn’t going to be handed to you. If you could gear all your players in a week, you wouldn’t keep playing the game. It’s working better in GW2 then it does in most games.

But the point of GW2 is exactly that. You get your max gear ASAP, enjoy all the other content without having to worry about your stats. If you want to chase the stats I have a good news for you, WoW still has lots of players.

So… i’m quite new in T1 but i was just wondering. Does everyone dance/laugh on your corpse or is it just most people?

Not everyone but a lot of people love to do something like this to provoke his/her enemy without respect or like to insult/humiliate another player.

When someone start it like throw rock in water will create another wave and more another.

But sometime you got good fight and get kill he/she will /bow or /salute to you for fight with honor/awesome duel/Excellent skirmish.

But after that happen you will do a same thing or not do same as them?

A month or two ago I got jumped by a SoR thief and we had a good fight before I managed to land a CC on him and finish him. I /bow’ed and ran along, then what did he do? He Joined my party and said something along the lines of “did you seriously just bow?” and proceeded to hurl a heap of abuse. I now get great pleasure jumping on the corpse of every SoR thief that I kill.

Because one thief totally represents the whole community. By your logic everyone on your server is seriously dumb.

BG’s strategy to win: “Recruit More”

I find this funny just for the fact that when you join a BL from the BG side, generally it is 2-3 guilds per BL. Where as you look at SoR’s side, you have pretty much Choo, Fear, TW, and Iron. Each one taking a BL for their own, sometimes able to cover 2 Bls with their extra numbers. It is like every time a guild comes over to BG everyone acts like its a 50 person dedicated WvW guild, when most of the time it is 20-30 person PvX guild.

Yes we have alot of guilds, we also have ALOT of PvErs and most of our WvW guild sizes don’t compare to the WvW focused guilds on SoR.

We’re really not that big. Most NA guilds run with at most 35 people in their guild. Others are pug members, and they usually perform worse than WvW guild members.

The ‘big’ guilds number-wise comes from our non-NA time guilds, but they do tend to fall off in open field capabilities, because their primary focus is to keep up our PPT.
